The Morning Report - 10/12/21

Good morning, kids. Tuesday and some very interesting turns of events as well as their concomitant frightening reactions from the powers that be, today mostly centered on the never-ending nightmare that is the two-week period to flatten the curve, now well into its 84th week with nothing flattened except life as we know it and our freedoms.

With the Peking Pox already used as either the convenient pretext to help sabotage the 2020 elections or with malice aforethought via collusion by the American Left with the Chi-Coms to effect same, the Deep State - no longer Deep but now out in the open and operating as The State - is demanding every citizen be vaccinated with the Fauci Fix or else become internal exiles and pariahs. It has nothing to do with health. It has everything to do with total control of every citizen because, whatever you think of these shots, they are not a one-off one-time deal. It's boosters every year or even six months to keep you fearful and subdued. No shots? No participation in society.

I've stated my position on this disease since this 84-week two-week period began; with a fatality rate of somewhere around 0.06%, none of what was forced on us from the lockdowns to the distancing to all of it was ever necessary. In fact, doing all those things prevented herd immunity from naturally neutralizing the pathogen as it has done for millions of years since the emergence of homo sapiens. If you want to look at death and suffering, take a look at the figures for heart attack, depression, suicide, drug and alcohol abuse and untreated/undiagnosed diseases including cancer that were not nipped in the bud because people were prevented from being treated. The psychological trauma, especially on the next generation of children who grew up with brainwashed drones wearing masks all around them will be profound to say the least. The human psyche and the human spirit are remarkably resilient, but they're not indestructible.

People have had enough and one of the biggest mass reactions to date has been that of the pilots and crew of Southwest Airlines who, when faced with either getting pumped with this snake oil or be fired have called in sick. En masse.

Southwest Airlines cancelled nearly 2,000 flights over the weekend, by some accounts nearly 30 percent of its scheduled traffic. Southwest bosses blamed bad weather, but for canceled passengers that made no sense.
"The weather is fine in all connecting areas, there's no bad weather," Southwest passenger B.J. Romero told reporters. "There's got to be something behind the scenes they're not telling us." That was true of the airline, aviation bureaucrats, the establishment media, and the Biden Junta. . .
. . . On October 4, Southwest announced that its workforce of 56,000 must be vaccinated by December 8 to continue their employment with the airline. Southwest executives claimed they had no choice because the airline acts as a federal contractor, flying Afghan evacuees and such, and Biden's rules for such contractors are stricter than the 100-employee mandate. Contractors must be vaccinated, unless they are granted a religious or medical exemption.
Adverse reactions to a vaccine could affect pilots' ability to pass periodic medical examinations required to maintain their license. The Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA) filed a lawsuit (Southwest Airlines Pilots Association v. Southwest Airlines Co., 3:21-cv-02065-M) contending that the vaccine requirement imposes new conditions of employment and violates the Railway Labor Act (RLA), which governs relations between airlines and unions.
Southwest disagreed that any [Chinese] Covid-related changes over the past several months require negotiation. On Friday, SWAPA asked a federal judge temporarily to block Southwest from carrying out federally mandated [Chinese] coronavirus vaccinations until their lawsuit is resolved. Two days later, Southwest cancelled nearly 2,000 flights and blamed the weather and air traffic control issues. The parties continue to point fingers, but passengers should have no doubt that the Biden vaccine mandate is to blame. . .
. . . For Joe Biden, "This is not about freedom or personal choice, it's about protecting yourself and those around you."
The ventriloquist here is surely Dr. Anthony Fauci, Biden's chief white coat supremacist, a non-practicing MD whose bio includes no advanced degrees in biochemistry or molecular biology. A government bureaucrat since 1968, Fauci has reversed himself on many aspects of the pandemic and now claims that to criticize him is to criticize science itself. If embattled Americans called that megalomania it would be hard to blame them.
In an October 1 virtual lecture for McGill University in Montreal, Fauci stated: "There comes a time when you do have to give up what you consider your individual right of making your own decision for the greater good of society." This is a purely political statement, as Dan Gelernter noted, "the intellectual kernel of and justification for totalitarianism."
In similar style, the Biden Junta's vaccine mandate is all about control. It's the Delaware Democrat's way or the highway, where gasoline prices are topping $5 a gallon in some areas.

Meanwhile, anti-viral therapeutics - all readily available, dirt cheap, safe and proven effective in combatting more lethal viruses than this one - have both been demonized in the agitprop media, as well as suddenly pulled from pharmacies and in many instances banned from being prescribed lest doctors have their licenses revoked. There's a lot of money to be made with these vaccines. Not just one or two times with 330 million people. But with booster shots. Forever.

But back to Southwest, this is a major problem for the junta. Despite threatening that a vaccine mandate for passengers is being considered (Dianne Feinstein even proposed the legislation a week ago), they know that this would destroy air travel and put an already unconscious economy into Karen Ann Quinlan territory, as well as piss off black voters who are not down for the jab and who do fly. Right before Thanksgiving and Christmas and just as the 2022 midterm season kicks off.

You add to this the outrage over branding parents terrorists for opposing the mass mind-fucking of their children and turning them into little Maoists, and before long you've got yourself a situation. Now, if I were to think like a Biden Junta lackey, I'd say just do carve-outs for pilots and constituency groups. But that would further inflame the public at large as well as point out the illogic of the unvaccinated and unmasked somehow being a threat to the vaccinated and diapered, which is exactly the logic that is coming out of the filthy cake-holes of Fauci et al.

Beyond the airline pilots, you already have nurses, fire and police personnel and others being forced out of work for refusing to get the jab. On that note, there are hospitals that have gone full Mengele by refusing to perform surgery on any patient who has not been indoctrinated, er, inoculated.

None of this makes sense. I ask the Kurts of this world, how, if you have been injected, can you possibly be at risk from someone who has not been? The only risk is to that individual himself. And as I had stated at the outset, that risk is minimal. Yes, you can get sick. And some people can even die - 0.06% in fact. Given the population is 330 million, that's still a high number. But compared to everything else in this life, it is merely one more thing that, in the grand scheme of things, is essentially just not significant enough for us to turn the entire world upside down. But that is being logical. One story that seems to underscore all of it is in the Red Green section.

. . . One of the activists in Washington, D.C., on Monday was reportedly handcuffed by law enforcement and yelled, "I don't want to die!"

I think I see the problem here. We, that is the anti-American big government Left, have so traumatized people with fear that rather than engaging in anything involving risk, whether in starting a business or even eating a damn peanut butter sandwich, they'd willingly and eagerly trade in their freedom for security. And wind up with neither. And woe to anyone who criticizes or mocks that worldview. You will be cancelled faster than you can say (REDACTED BY GOOGLE AS DISINFORMATION).

If you worked with a company that was going to fire you at a certain date and you had a use-it-or-lose-it PTO policy, it makes perfect sense to use those days off as time to search for another job. They have earned those days off in their labor contracts, they aren't going to leave money on the table.

My job is now subject to termination if I'm not jabbed by Dec 8th, thanks to the Biden (unwritten) EO. Supposed to be offering religious exemptions, but as usual they slow roll out that process to try to pressure people to get the jab.

The Philadelphia Marathon announced yesterday that they will have a 0% exception policy, everyone must be jabbed to participate. This is due to direct orders from the mayor.

I'll be taking my refund and never going to Philadelphia again if I can help it.

And the Cleveland Clinic did a study that found that natural immunity was good. I think the specific question asked was whether the vaccines could be delayed for those previously infected, and the answer was a definite yes.

They don't care about crushing the airlines. If anything, crushing the airlines will serve a trinary goal:
1. Consolidate into one major carrier and a couple of regional carriers, all state-controlled.
2. Fewer flights that are much more expensive, restricting the hoi polloi's ability to travel far and wide and keeping them in their right place under the boot.
3. The Dread Carbon will be reduced because of fewer flights.

I won't be surprised if they do this, but I will be surprised if they do it before Christmas. Not because they don't want the outcome, but because there are a lot people like me who have spent *thousands* on airfares for the holidays. That will create a lot of rage and they might not want to push so hard right now.

I'll be anxious to see how my doctors at UH react to this. My heart surgeon was very low key about the vax, acting like "you have no reason to muck around with that". My cardio guy is kind of a germophobe but hasn't leaned on me for anything. My pcp, with whom I'll have my annual checkup later this month, will be interesting to gauge her reaction. She strongly recommends an annual regular flu shot, which has served me well, but I hope follows the data on the experimental poison.

They don't care so long as the rage is small in comparison. Coming up and banning unvaxed domestic travel will strip thousands of dollars from each of millions of people at all once. It would be a big deal, and too big to hide. They might not want to tempt it during the holiday season when people are already stressed (largely happy, but stressed) and popularity is in the sub-basement. It doesn't mean they *won't* try it, I just suspect that they'll do it after the holidays. Point to COVID numbers that say whatever the state wants them to say and assert, "unvaxed travel is a big problem and we're stopping it now."

A single major event would be a good outcome for them, but a bunch of major or moderate events would be risky.

Yeah, it is to laugh. Maybe because the surgeon - and the dentist, who is a surgeon - and various others have their heads very close to the body and to wounds. The last thing you want is for your spit to fall into a wound, or for a wound to spurt into your nose, eyes and mouth. Talk about an infection vector.

And the masks help in those cases. That's big stuff. Reasonable precaution.

From what I can figure, Trump tried to put down the riots but his military people refused to do so. His presidency ended on that day. But the riots were useful to the government. Never forget about the goals. Widespread violence that suits their purposes is acceptable. If *we* had done it, the body count would have been in the tens of thousands, with the press running full-tilt about the brave suppression of domestic terrorism. The war would have started right then, which is why they don't want that outcome. Too many variables.

Which I think is why they're seeing a lot of pushback and non-compliance. If this were a proper vaccine, a one-and-done (or even a "one and done for fifteen years" like many others such as the tetanus vaccine), they'd likely be at 90%+ compliance with little vocal push-back. But looking at twice-annual (or maybe even thrice) "boosters" is another story. People who would be willing to take the risk of side effects once - whether because of wanting the benefits or fear of the virus - may not be willing to take those risks twice a year forever. That's a very different story, and there's way less willingness to engage on those terms.

In addition, it was happening even before the "vaccines", with the social credit system essentially being implemented with mask-mandates. The mask mandates were the test. And the American public generally failed it. Had Americans rejected every single business and school with mask-mandates, things may have been different. Businesses would have had to change policies or go out of business. Schools would have had to change policies or lose students. Instead, people still frequented businesses with idiotic mask-mandates (restaurants, places like Disney World, etc) and still sent their kids to schools where kids were required to wear masks all day.

Remember, any highly regulated bureaucracy is going to be riddled with irrational policies as part of the usual panel of institutional pathologies.

Some of the requirements might come straight from the Actuarial's spreadsheet. Others are bound to sentiments of "truthiness" or "truth" pulled from one's ass because no one knows and it just feels like it might be true - that is what "social distancing" and "masks" were.

I just fact checked you and the 1.62% # is accurate, for reported infections and reported deaths. However, there are several flaws in that # -- It requires you to ignore the number of estimated recovered/unreported cases (over 100MM, per Rand Paul), and the vast overreporting of deaths where ANY mention of covid on a death certificate is counted as a covid death.

But I do think JJ's .06% # is maybe too low. Using "official" #s, it's about .23% in the US overall. The CDC sez that # is .21%, so I'm close.

The reported number for infections is just wrong. There is no way to take it seriously.

If you believe the blood tests which are showing about an 80% antibody rate with the 700K death number, you arrive at about .2% death rate.

The 700k number though has been admitted to be how many people died while they had covid - whether it actually killed them or not.

If we had a government interested in data, they could actually segment some portion of the population, give them regular tests and then determine a death rate in a scientific way. The fact we are not doing that tells me the numbers would not back up the government line.

Which is also why New England, even during the Trump energy policy, had to import fossil fuels. The whole country was running at surplus, but New England bought from abroad. Why? Two reasons.
1. NY wouldn't allow pipeline construction, so no way to get natural gas to New England from Pennsylvania and other states.

Many tens of thousands of folk, shoulder to shoulder walking block after block, looking at local vendors and festivities for three days.

COVID was important, immediate, and a direct threat to the individual. It was a threat unlike the less immediate and more fanciful climate change threat. we have a small museum here - Wagner - no one even knows it but I used to love the stupid place. IMMEDIATELY closed due to COVID - even before we had to! - and no one goes there, it's nearly always empty. but any excuse to close!

the people who work there just like the stuff. they like the building. they don't like visitors.

a lot of these types are like this. they liked when the halls were quiet. protecting their beloved "pieces" from nasty, germy rabble.

337 Being in line for a transplant says you are in a life-death situation and willing to take all the risks implied in getting a transplant. It seems to me at that point, one would opt for the vax in order to have one's life saving surgery. It appears irrational to do otherwise.

The "vaccination" requirement for an organ transplant has nothing to do with health and is a political requirement. There were organ transplants happening in 2020 and every month of 2021 up until now without the requirement.

How about if the government mandated that anyone wanting to donate an organ needed to have a vasectomy or have their tubes tied? Would a healthy 20-something donor prospect be "stupid" to choose not to have that done in order to be able to donate?

Just wear the mask, just lockdown, just get the "vaccine". If you choose not to and instead choose to lose your job, you're making a "stupid" choice. This is our "new normal". Wonderful.

True enough and in the case of a heart, liver, eyes, etc, I understand. But I was thinking of the Colorado hospital that refused to perform a kidney transplat due to vaccination status. Most kidney surgeries that I've heard of, the donor is a willing family member.

Most people who get organs from some random person who died are placed in a line (so to speak) and I can't imagine them dropping someone out of line due to not getting vaccinated.

But in the case I read about, a specific donor was willing to give to a specific person (relative?), not to anyone else. So it just meant letting that one person die because they were not vaxxed. (unless they found another hospital?)

During the plandemic, local museum sent out a questionnaire asking how members/patrons felt about virtual pay per view visits, as well as diversity issues, mask policies, and other rot.

Have saved a lot of money on canceled memberships.

It's stupid for a transplant patient not to want an experimental vaccine that alters their immune system, and could potentially kill them in a few years? We've already seen reports from doctors about how the vaccines destroy T-cells in healthy patients. We know that transplant patients have to take immuno-suppressants for the rest of their lives. We have no idea how the vaccines are going to effect immuno-compromised patients like transplant recipients in the long term.

The articles about transplant patients say that they are at increased risk of death from covid. According to the articles, 20%-30% of transplant patients who get covid die from it. That means transplant patients have a 70%-80% chance of surviving covid.

We don't know what their chances are of surviving the vaccine long term. Could be 0%. Shouldn't the decision about which risk to take belong to the patient?

It does not undermine climate change hysteria at all. The activists are not speaking to the average citizen. They are speaking to global leaders who are in a position to implement policies. And these leaders -- in both government and business -- have been enacting these policies for decades now. Even though the vast majority of the average citizens of the world either don't care or don't believe in the hysteria.

Look at all the policies enacted regarding oil drilling; all the policies in California from straws to light bulbs to plastic bags to water usage and electricity usage to gas-powered lawn mowers; all the laws, regulations and fines which have been in place for greenhouse gas emissions and fuel economy for decades now; the demand by politicians for automakers to sell EVs even though there is no demand in the market and there is no infrastructure to support them.

You gotta love it, though. Once again we have utilities turning off power to windblown bits of the state so they don't start fires, while the Governor's banning generators.

359 Hell, California has the fruit inspection stations on I-15 which can be easily bypassed. So they just change the sign to include gas powered mowers, trimmers and the state will be all set. Maybe those shot detectors used in the cities would work, gun shot or lawn mower?

364 I got the Moderna shots back in April/May, had zero side effects other than a very slightly sore arm...I generally have more side effects from the flu shot.

H1N1 almost took me out in 2009, so since then I haven't missed getting a flu shot, and I decided I would rather risk any side effects from the covid shot than actually getting covid (I know several people who got really sick and two who died). So I do believe in vaccine science and I would encourage people to talk to their doc and make the best choice for them.

That said...mandates are stupid. The CDC and FDA are corrupt and stupid (the fact that they don't recognize natural immunity is ridiculous)...and don't even get me started on Brandon or Kumala.

I don't worry about other people's vaccination status and I don't live my life in fear of others. I do believe I'm well protected from getting seriously ill, just like I believe a seatbelt should prevent me from dying in a car accident (not foolproof but the best case option for risk reduction). In fact, I practically welcome a possible mild breakthrough case of the Rona because it will probably give my immune system an extra boost for the next variant (ooh so scary!)

This is a carefully constructed rhetorical trap. IF you start from the premise that the vax works, then yes, it does matter how many people get it - same reason areas afflicted with upper class wine moms keep getting measles outbreaks after years of them refusing to do regular childhood shots for their little snowflakes. For a given rate of transmission and susceptibility, you'll need X number of people with the vax for herd immunity.

The problem with this and COVID is two-fold. One, the vax simply doesn't work. Two, even if it did, it'd stop working in a couple of months. Some viruses simply can't be vaccinated against with current technology; this is EXACTLY why we don't have a common cold vax, many strains of which ARE coronoviruses.
