Christina's World

I had a chat with a friend and fellow Wyeth fan, and I expounded on my art appreciation rules...

5 But I know a place where we can go
That's still untouched by men
We'll sit and watch the clouds roll by
And the tall grass waves in the wind
You can lay your head back on the ground
And let your hair fall all around me
Offer up your best defense
But this is the end
This is the end of the innocence

Ever been to the Brandywine River Museum in Chester County, PA? A couple generation of Wyeth paintings on display. Some good, some not so much.

Of course it doesn't sit next to the Brandywine River, it sits next to the Brandywine Creek. There's something symbolic about that.

36 Christina's World

Christina is looking back at the home and thinking how limited the world is. She sees herself captive to a small place, a small time, and a small world. Too many people do not heed the words of Jesus,
No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Your way is forward, not looking back on what once was. Christina could turn her head over her shoulder and see a road down to the highway, and the highway leads to another town, and her life of laughter (and sadness), and rewards (and disappointments).

Polio. Back in the day, they'd leave you in a field, and if you got well enough to crawl back home, they'd feed you.

Otherwise... buzzards and coyotes had a nice meal.

40 It's an emotional work - is she struggling to get home or merely turning to answer a mother's call? Is she trapped in a desolate landscape or as free as a sailor on an endless sea? Is she lonely or only alone? I have always loved this painting.

53 Dido's law is correct.

This is such an exquisite painting on its own with its blocks of subtle colors and gentle curves (including Christina's). But knowing the back story makes it so poignant that the viewer can empathize with her condition. Wyeth captured huge emotion and pathos in such a simple image.

Thanks for this one, CBD. Wyeth, father or son, is always a fine choice.

57 Lovely painting. Her position in the grass really conveys her lot in life. She's dragging herself along due to a degenerative disease. She didn't want to use a wheelchair.
At first glance I thought she was in repose contemplating the landscape. You look closer and it's an awkward pose showing her struggle to move. Subtle but descriptive.
I give her props for her courage to do things her way.

In case it hasn't sunk in, let me reiterate... 3 of the 4 covid vaccine makers have been sued for products they brought to market even though they knew injuries and deaths would result.

Johnson & Johnson has lost major lawsuits in 1995, 1996, 2001, 2010, 2011, 2016, 2019 (For what it's worth, J&J's vaccine also contains tissues from aborted fetal cells, perhaps a topic for another discussion)

Oh, and apparently J&J (whose vaccine is approved for "Emergency Use" in the US) and Astrazenca (whose vaccine is not approved for "Emergency Use" in the US), had a little mix up in their ingredients... in 15 million doses. Oops.

Syllable-wise, it would work better to use just the last name. It is three syllables just like "Joe Biden" is three, so it would make pivoting from one chant to the other easier and with practice it could become seamless.

d) Due to the Spike protein production that is engineered into the user's genome, each such recipient of the Covid 19 Vaccines already has micro clots in their cardiovascular system that present a danger to their health and safety;
e) That such micro clots over time will become bigger clots by the very nature of the shape and composition of the Spike proteins being produced and said proteins are found throughout the user's body, including the brain;

328 Back when I was in college, I was on a Stephen King kick. It actually started in high school, when my sister got IT for Christmas, and I "borrowed" it from her. I followed that up with the Stand.

Once at college, I found a small bookshop that had a wide variety of King's books, so I'd go down every week and pick up a couple. Worked my way through his whole collection. I kept up reading his new books for a while, but then just gave up.

So my advice for starting King is to stick with his older books. If you really want to ease into them, grab his short story collections. Maybe his Richard Bachman books, too. The Long Walk is one of my favorites.

351 Still, these scientists agree that the very fact that these experiments were even on the radar raises significant concerns. "I recognize this revelation opens up legitimate lines of questioning that are serious and need to be addressed by the people involved," Goldstein told us via email. Crits-Christoph told us that it pushed the existing evidence "one step closer to the lab-engineering hypothesis" - but added that, given the improbable timeline, it moved things "one step further as well."

.. other scientists took a different point of view - one less skeptical of the idea that the experiments could have been carried out in China. Jesse Bloom, a computational biologist and expert in viral evolution at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, in Seattle, calls the timeline "plausible .. certainly possible." Chan points to other recent reports that the team at the Wuhan Institute of Virology had already been sampling very close relatives to SARS-CoV-2, and that it was testing, in humanized mice, genetically engineered SARS-like coronaviruses that were more infectious than natural strains. "WIV was fully outfitted to run all these experiments themselves," she says.

d) Due to the Spike protein production that is engineered into the user's genome, each such recipient of the Covid 19 Vaccines already has micro clots in their cardiovascular system that present a danger to their health and safety;
e) That such micro clots over time will become bigger clots by the very nature of the shape and composition of the Spike proteins being produced and said proteins are found throughout the user's body, including the brain;

Pfizer has the distinction of the biggest criminal payout in history. They have lost so many lawsuits it's hard to count. You can check out their rap sheet here. Maybe that's why they are demanding that countries where they don't have liability protection put up collateral to cover vaccine-injury lawsuits.

411 I'm aware of the micro clot issue from the beginning of this sad affair, but to have this argument layed out in such a fashion is well worth everyone's time today.

By the time the clot shots entered human testing they knew that COVID is only particularly deadly to the elderly, obese, or those with serious commodities.

Yes, some small number of people not in one of those groups have died...but this is also true of the "seasonal flu" - and generally vaccines get pulled if they cause more then a handful of deaths/serious injuries not tens to hundreds of thousands.

If this was not being used as "crises to not go to waste" the shot would only EVER have been authorized for those people.

One of the many lessons of COVID mania is that the issue was NEVER the GOPe trying to implement conservative policies and failing. It was always them not wanting to.

453 I read that affidavit. Apparently, she worked with the doctor who wrote the Human Physiology textbook we used in Physiology for Bioengineers. Kind of an interesting textbook in that it tried to take a more conversational tone. This is not exact, but a very near quotation: "But just as an exciting movie is made from car chases, not sedate driving, so the exciting part of fluid homeostasis is the body's reaction to extreme situations such as dehydration."

On topic - very good affidavit, lays everything out

The blood test for micro clots is called a "d-dimer test".

There is a video out there in the ether (if I can find it in my treasure trove I'll link it) where a foreign doc talks at length about this micro clot issue. The video is at least a year old if not older...

If the "unvaccinated" are the targets of the next virus, then the Left would have no problem with anyone on the Right who refuses "vaccination". Since they already want us all dead.

Problem is, the "unvaccinated" and those infected and recovered from SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 have better immune systems towards SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19 and every other virus. It's those who have been "vaccinated" who now have their immune systems weakened by the "vaccine".

Connect the dots...

485 "What is she doing? I can't tell if she's just sitting there admiring the scenery because she doesn't want everyone to think she's an asshole and a retard, or if she has an affliction of some sort and has to drag herself around the compound."

Christina Olson was a neighbor of Wyeth's who was crippled. Wyeth said that he saw her pulling herself back to her farmhouse after she had worked in the vegetable garden, and made a quick sketch, which he worked up into this egg-tempera painting.

If you're interested in Wyeth, try to find a copy of the catalogue for the 1976 show at the Met, "Kuerners and Olsons". The text is a long interview with Wyeth, very revealing. The part where he talks about the training in art that he received from his father, N. C. Wyeth, is fascinating.
