The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

I'll say it straight out loud. I do not think that Joe Biden "won the election." I don't think it is a question of "widespread fraud." I think the way the system works with the Electoral College, you only need actually to spread fraud in six key cities in six key states. Mark Steyn

Quote II

“My mom and dad took me out on the back porch and my dad started talking about how the world isn’t fair. I knew something was wrong,”Eleven-year-old Macie Shenefield

Quote III

“They were never great but at least they were edible. This year it’s just strange how everyone gets free lunch and the lunches are trash. Kristi Salzano, mother of two school children

Quote IV

Sorry, but even if there are good field agents, our intelligence agencies were always a festival of fail that could only be more obvious if it wore a fruit hat and shashayed to samba in the Carnival in Rio.Sarah Hoyt

Quote V

“Historically, the organization was viewed as an Army command tasked with law enforcement duties. We must now clearly establish CID as an elite federal law enforcement agency that operates within and in support of the Department of the Army.” Gregory Ford became the first civilian director of the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command

Quote VI

Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them. Frederick Douglass

I think that everyone reading tonight's ONT knows someone who has been afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease. SCIENTISTS MAY HAVE DISCOVERED THE CAUSE OF ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE - A MOUSE STUDY FOUND "LEAKAGE" OF TOXIC PROTEINS INTO THE BRAIN.

For years, scientists have been studying how the buildup of toxic molecules in the brain might cause or contribute to Alzheimer’s disease. But much more difficult has been figuring out what sets off the process that makes those molecules begin to accumulate in the first place.

Now, a team of researchers from Curtin University say that “leakage” of a toxic compound called beta-amyloid from the bloodstream might be the root problem, according to a mouse study published last week in the journal PLOS Biology. While it’s not yet clear whether the same process happens in humans, the discovery could give scientists a new way to track or monitor the onset of Alzheimer’s disease and, perhaps, help them develop new treatments to prevent it.

“While we previously knew that the hallmark feature of people living with Alzheimer’s disease was the progressive accumulation of toxic protein deposits within the brain called beta-amyloid, researchers did not know where the amyloid originated from, or why it deposited in the brain,” lead study author and Curtin researcher John Mamo said in a press release.

We are not a nation of laws. We are a nation of connections. And quite frankly I'm ready to throw the towel in and say "Let it fucking burn." And if I've gone too far. It is what it is.

The list of inside-the-Beltway legal players connected to Democrats in the case against Michael Sussmann, a lawyer indicted by special counsel John Durham, includes not just Mr. Sussmann’s attorneys but the judge as well.

Mr. Sussmann will face a trial judge who appears to have background connections to the FBI‘s original Russia investigation.

U.S. District Court Judge Christopher Cooper, who is overseeing the case against Mr. Sussmann, is married to attorney Amy Jefress, who represented former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, Just The News first reported Monday.

And another thing. Two and a half years of investigating and this is only the 2nd ho-hum indictment brought. Nice job there U.S. Attorney John Durham. Really fine.

Gotta love the Clinton Covid News Network, of course a FNC opinion maker is at fault.

In an interview with CNN on Monday morning, a pair of teenagers who recently lost their unvaccinated father to COVID-19 said they blamed his death on misinformation about vaccines, specifically citing reporting from Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson.

Patrick Lane, a 45-year-old Boeing designer and father of two, died from COVID-19 late last month at around the same time the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave full approval to the Pfizer vaccine. Lane was reportedly healthy and had no underlying conditions. Yet even still, shortly after he was diagnosed, his health started quickly deteriorating.

I'm sorry your father passed. However he was a smart man and made his decision.

Who knew cash registers needed electricity to open. Not our Genius Award Winner.

A man wearing a face covering and gloves, approached the clerk and began to speak to her around 4:30 a.m.

Shortly after the power went out due to the power outage earlier reported by LES Friday morning.

After the power cut-out the man brandished a knife, and began to demand money from the clerk.

Due to the power being out, the register would not open and the man decided to leave the store without any money.

Except in the Tuskegee Study, no one was actively injected with anything; all the participants caught syphilis the old fashioned way.

When the study started there were no safe and effective treatments for syphilis, so observing the participants without treating them was not unreasonable.

Where it went bad was in the 1940's when safe and effective antibiotics became available, and were not offered to the participants. In fairness to the people running the study, at that time no one knew the long-term effects of untreated syphilis (that was the point of the study), or that treating long-term syphilis was of any benefit to the patient.

208 Re Jim Croce, there's a great story his wife Ingrid has told, that Jim was once asked if he would agree to do a documentary on his life and music.

Thing was, Jim was always a bit uncommunicative in his private life. Ingrid says Jim came home from tour, but without her expecting anything, an entire film crew was with him. Next thing she knew, there were 20 people in their living room setting up equipment and filming.

Ingrid put on her hostess face, made everyone sandwiches and did her best to cooperate, but after they had finished and left for the day, she confronted Jim. "Why didn't you tell me about the crew coming over? Didn't you think that would be kind of awkward and intrusive?"

She says he hated arguing, so Jim kind skulked off, embarassed and a little taken aback, and went to bed early. After cleaning up a bit, Ingrid also went to bed.

The next morning, Ingrid says, she woke up to Jim playing guitar at her bedside, singing her the original rough draft version of "I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song." :-)

They were from the same area and crossed paths all the time. My father had actually learned their music because one of the other guitar players was becoming ill, so my father sat down with the main guitar player, Tommy Devito, to learn the songs so he could jump in at a moments notice. Well, the guitar player recovered, my father didn't have to play, which meant he stayed in his band where he eventually met my mother. Had he got the gig I may not even be here.

No time to go out for lunch or dinner and bathroom time has to be synchronized with the whole crew and you get minutes. So they bring in food for all of us to eat while I stare at numbers.

They probably paid good money for the lunch. But it wasn't catered by any chain, it was assembled by the same outfit that runs the company's cafeterias. And they screwed it up. Sandwiches were old soggy and sometimes moldy, salads were brown, it was bloody disgusting. I think the cafeteria assembled the week's food during the previous week and that's what we were eating.

Most people probably don't know a whole bunch of chemical and biological weapons scientists were also brought over and immediately put to work.

The L.S.D. thing and the CIA is remarkable. Drill down just a little bit and they were dosing everybody in the 1950s. Timothy Leary of "Tune In Turn On Drop Out" fame was on the payroll. Owsley and the rest of those guys were connected to some real shady stuff.

Ronald Stark is an interesting character, tough to find out much about him. He is responsible for flooding millions of hits of "Orange Sunshine" acid. At one time early on he displayed 2 pounds of pure acid to an interested party about his bona fides. That's an insane amount, he was also likely connected to CIA. The government burned all the records of the 50s and 60s era drug "trials" but the idea was to get everybody whacked in the head. Kesey and his "Merry Pranksters" and "Acid Tests".

334 They don't, but that's when our real problems begin. The urbanites who survive the Initial Burn will eventually start feeling a bit peckish, so they'll strap on their Air Jordans, load up their shopping cart, and start pushing inland. That gaggle of folks under the bridge in Texas is nothing. Imagine the same thing, but it stretches the length of, say, Interstate 80.

359 Free lunch programs are a social conditioning program for youth.

I have a renter that told me just sort of offhand that you aren't allowed to pay for lunches, even if you wanted to, in the public schools.

It started off as "don't make the free lunch kids feel bad". It ended up as "get everyone conditioned to government handouts".

COVID checks, FAFSA bullshit, Stimulus checks...these are all part of the same programming. Remove the stigma of taking a handout. Then normalize the handouts. Then enforce the controlled income. Then confiscate private wealth. Then create drone-humans begging for their stipends.

I told my local school board member that if my daughter was in their school instead of private school, I would send her to school with $3 every day and instruct her to hand the money to the cafeteria lady every day, that we pay our way and that this is an important lesson. My school board member looked at me like I was nuts, which I probably am.

They will survive through foreign support. At least enough to limp along and the international political situation sorts itself out.
Many of them will be easy to isolate, particularly in the NW and in down to NorCal.

363 School lunches weren't bad, they were filling and nutritious and inexpensive. A government run program that actually worked. Sort of, kinda, after a fashion at least.

In those days the federal government supported the price of farm commodities. This means they purchased tremendous amounts of milk, butter, cheese, rice, peanut butter, etc., and USDA turned right around and simply gave those commodities or sold them cheap to school districts. After all, the parents had already paid for the food. The lunchroom ladies probably had a thankless job. I think they did pretty good with what they had to work with, and the requirements laid down. Same thing with Army cooks.

I still like to pair a peanut butter sammich with a bowl of Chili, a legacy of my Public School upbringing. The rectangle "pizza" was always derided, but as I recall we always ate it. Couldn't have been too bad.

364 And the holodomor was the most extreme example, but it happened across the Soviet Union. City kids took socialism-building jaunts to the rural areas to loot them while satisfying the wanton bloodlust with which their professors and commissars had inculcated them. This is the model. It worked then, it will work again. Nobody will have enough, but the system will survive on hate and envy and cruelty.

We have an adult mentally hc child who lives with us full time. In MI he used to attend a Goodwill program, mostly a quality-of-life thing with activities, field trips, crafts, local outtings etc. He went 2 or 3 days per week. This is funded through the state, no private pay (no other options, either). Because the program was administered by Community Mental Health, and to get services from CMH you have to be on Medicaid, we had to take him off of our private insurance and enroll him in Medicaid so he could participate in the program. Talk about forcing people onto the gov't teat.

.....

If you are considering East Tennessee, I'd stay out of Knoxville and opt for the surrounding communities.

Alcoa, Maryville, Lenoir City, Clinton, Oak Ridge, Corryton, Rutledge. Even if you wind up working in Knoxville, interstates from surrounding communities will dump you into Knoxville in 30 minutes anyway, with minimal traffic compared to bigger cities.

If you don't mind commuting an hour, you can even pick more rural communities where land is still cheap and plentiful.

459 I have mastered a lot of now-obsolete skills in my time (like starting a Model T Ford), and one of them is operating a manual cash register, from playing with a big brass register in an antique shop in my neighborhood.

Fast forward to my university days back in the late '70s, when I was working at a sub shop that had two of the new electric cash registers with a manual crank on the side. A thunderstorm popped up and caused a blackout, and we were faced with several customers and seemingly no way to ring up their sales.

That's when I stepped in and told the other three staff members, "You fill their orders, and I'll ring them up." I punched in the numbers and spun the crank for each item, hit the Total button, spun the crank again, the cash drawer popped open, and I took the customer's money and handed him his change. And the staff is watching and looking at me like I just parted the Red Sea.

So that's how it went for almost an hour until the power came back on -- the other three staff were taking and making orders, and I was merrily spinning the crank on the cash register, ringing up the sales. "So that's what that crank is for," one of my colleagues said later.

530 For years, scientists have been studying how the buildup of toxic molecules in the brain might cause or contribute to Alzheimer's disease.

Yes, and it may be a huge red herring. By now they've made a slew of drugs to address beta amyloid plaque buildup which seem to work in terms of reducing that plaque and come up with f*ck all for results in terms of halting or slowing the disease.

Though I can't help but to be amused at the finding one class of drugs which seems to remove the plaque is cannabinoids. If it turned out pot cured or prevented Alzheimers we would have had a black hole of irony that could have destroyed the universe.

Let's think about this. John Brown was trying to start a general slave revolt. A few folks got killed (mostly slaves, iirc.)

In this case, they are trying to keep abortion a sacred and celebrated right under any and all circumstances.

So, I guess the plan would be, ride into town and get women to have abortions, and end up killing themselves.

Not seeing the downside here.

That, combined with the future battle I will have about the vax at work, just makes me . . . tired. I used to look forward to my job. Not any more. Leaving the house now is like venturing out to an occupied zone where "officials" will demand something new of me without warning -- like being Jewish in 1937 Vienna.

Yes, being off the last 2 weeks, and visiting a sensible place like Birmingham which did not constantly hammer the mask routine and which was pleasant to drive and to sit outside in, was so nice that I hate to go back to work. But this is something more.

I'll admit there was a time when, despite the lousy weather, I could not imagine living anywhere else. That was more than 30 years ago. Then I visited some other, cleaner places with better weather, better streets, and less crime, and realized life doesn't have to be like that.

Hang dai, Wolfus Aurelius. Assuming you have the option to opt out because of religious reasons (I would think you'd HAVE to have that option), there was a moron who made an excellent observation a week or so ago.

Don't mention abortion, cell lines, or anything similar. That's fighting the battle on their turf. Go straight to "I believe this is the mark of the beast and that if I receive the shot I will burn in Hell forever, and that's why I require an exemption."

THAT is religion. That is religious belief. They can't nitpick and debate any of it.

the easiest and most difficult thing to do is move. Forty years ago, Americans moved all the time to find work or a better life. They say we are much more sticky now, we simply move less.

The lefty holes are not going to get better. They are not going to all of a sudden admit the wrongs and change their ways. The answer is to move because the two Americas are self segregating quite possibly as never seen before.

Everyone has to make their own choices. But to me it is obvious that there is one thing almost anyone can do to make an immediate change in their daily life.
