It's a pretty cool sign. I've always wondered how long ago it was painted.

Andycanuck, thanks for sharing. I scrolled down on his account and saw a great montage someone put together of articles about hospital problems and extremely painful wait times prior to Covid.

The comment that before "they had only themselves to blame" is true in so many situations now.

I'm anxious this morning because parent groups from bigger districts are petitioning Governor Whitmer to force all kids to mask up again. This was such a good week for our school: everyone attending games, girls discussing dresses for upcoming Homecoming Dance, and kids sitting with their friends at lunch again.

I will write that out.
One Trillion, two hundred three Billion.

more kabuki theater? ... Blasie-Ford was such bad acting, little girl voice and all. Yet ... they persist. It's like a little drama club clique, except their charades are the pretense of government in action.

The "actual" government is DeepState, the charades/kabuki are to dramatize/fictionalize their actions, a reality TV tragicomedy portraying elected officials making serious decisions. But shadow oligarchs write the scripts, key actors are well paid.

89 Bureau of Land Management has reversed its plans to move its HQ to Grand Junction, CO and instead will remain in D.C. GJitty City will be designated as the "western HQ of the BLM", sort of a participation trophy gesture.

Local politicians crow about how this is still good news for GJ, because it will mean a smattering of fed jobs for the area. Bunch of doublespeak.

Gov. Polis: Our vast great public lands enhance our Colorado way of life, support jobs, and are a refuge for wildlife and Coloradans. The BLM has committed to growing this [not the] headquarters, and we look forward to many more BLM staff joining those already in Grand Junction which is a natural home for the BLM [which will not be in GJ]. There is great value in being physically close to the lands under management and where decisions have impacts on the lives of Coloradans and our environment [so we are excited the HQ will be 2500 miles away!]

I may have added a couple parenthetical comments.

They apparently got into a fight in their vehicle a week or so before she disappeared, and the cops were called and the video from one of the cop's bodycam is online. He asks the girl what the problem is, and she says she has OCD and anxiety disorders and she gets riled up and they got into the fight because she was upset, etc. The guy actually seemed fairly calm when the cops spoke with him, but the cops ended up separating the two for the night by sending the guy to a local shelter and leaving the girl with the van (which she owned, according to the registration).

Given the personality types involved, a months-long road trip seems like a really bad idea. They were living in the back of the van, which was a very small and cramped space, and spending every minute together. Adding OCD and anxiety disorders into the mix made it even more stressful. Just seems like a recipe for trouble.

It's going to keep expanding until we have the entire population of Haiti here.

Biden caused this by stopping deportations back to Haiti. The illegal Haitians on the deportation planes in TX were told to disembark, because they were not going to be deported.
They got off the planes and called their relatives back home in Haiti and said "come on into the U.S. -- they're not deporting anybody anymore!" Overnight, thousands more appeared.

180 yeah, one in three go through the turnstile, so we are probably at three million since Biden Junta stormed the capitol. They have covertly moved many of those into the interior ... as with Afghani imports, many/most are fighting age males. ... "Battleground states may become real battlegrounds."

We keep saying the Regime is at war with the people, but I think most see it as figurative. It is not a shooting war, but it is a rampage that ignores all laws, imports a new (enemy) people, and confiscates our wealth. ... Not a hot war, not a cold war ... need a new term for their Junta war from within.

__________

The government admits to "encountering" more than 200,000 illegal aliens every month at the southern border. That's 2.4 million per year, just going by the official numbers. And we know that the official numbers are much lower than the actual number of illegals crossing over, because most illegals try to avoid BP and so they don't get included in the official "encountered" numbers. Border cameras in AZ show that only about 10% of illegal border crossers ever "encounter" BP.

The real numbers of illegals coming into the U.S. now is close to a million PER MONTH.

He's exposed himself repeatedly at spas and pools because he's sexually aberrant, There's something unintentionally and brazenly funny about some of this creeps words, however, in what he says about the one incident in which he exposed his erect penis as the pool's changing room . The man claims "they mistakenly believed his large penis was erect. I don't have a small penis, but you can't say that's an erection," Merager said. He has a couple of "whoppers" to excuse other of his actions too, but you'd have to read the article.

My Instant Pot didn't last long. I replaced it with a Nesco Smart Cooker. It works like an Instant Pot, only better, and also functions as both a pressure canner and water bath canner. It's really convenient when I have some leftover raw veggies to just make up a pint of them, stick them in the Nesco, set it to "can" and walk away. Small batch preservation is way easier, and now I waste far less. Plus I make probably 2-3 meals per week or more in it. Highly recommend.

Oh, probably. I can't think of any off hand unless it would be John Shelby Spong. As you know, this idea seems to have been promulgated "recently" (past 30 years) by Rabbi Harold Kushner who claimed it was the belief of some Jewish thinkers that the human race needed to grow up and make mistakes and be responsible for themselves-"be adults" and not have a a perfect existence. I think the closest thing in Christian thought was that the Fall was a beneficial thing because it meant humanity needed the salvific work of Jesus Christ as a remedy for being lost in sin

I forget which book of Harold Kushner had that thought about Adam and Eve needed to grow up. The Eastern Orthodox Church has some thought about us about us sharing in the divinity of Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit (An EO person would be able to phrase this in a better way than I am) but they do not think it was a good thing that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and wanted to be Gods all on their own.

318 "No, it's a rabbi focused on diverse lifestyles"

There's an argument to be made out of the law and what was seen in judges for a near libertarianism. You don't violate these tenants which harm society and you work your own property and respect others' property rights.

However, in Daniel, with Nebuchadnezzar's dream, Nebuchadnezzar, the absolute monarch, was the golden image of God's rule. As the authority is diluted, the image becomes less and less.

327 Fen, are there any Christian philosophers or teachers who believe that God wanted Adam and Eve to disobey him and that it was a good thing?

I am not Fen, and not an apologetic for your Rabbi - but the Old Testament is replete with stories of God giving everything to his people, and the people rejecting God, and God forgiving his rebellious people.

There is a reason for the repetition. I think that we can be pretty confident that God was not pleased by Adam and Eve eating of the Fruit - he said he wasn't. He punished them for it. And that eventually kinda sorta led them back to the right path. But in a universe made by God, where he is all powerful, all-knowing, etc - I think it is wrong to think that He did not expect Adam and Eve to rebel, and that it was not His plan.

This is hard to accept - for Christians, we think of the crucifixion of the Son of God as the most terrible of things. And yet, we celebrate it. It was God's plan!

His ways are not our ways.

328 @CN

Jews were appointed to teach the world the law and nature of God. It was their commission from God. That's a very Jewish view of things to see the world as needing to grow up. Of course, the New Testament teaches that they missed that calling collectively, and were tossed into the street to be trampled by men, a punishment that continued until at least 1948.

What's always made more sense to me, once I was taught by a Protestant theologian, was that the original sin was not eating the fruit.

Eating the fruit gave A and E the ability to know sin, and after eating the fruit, they hid their nekkidness, lied to God, etc. So it's not so much that God was happy with it, he gave them a choice: Stay dumb animals, or become aware... therefore with sin. They chose.

A chick cannot go back into an egg, and a adult cannot become a child again. It felt like betrayal, but the consequences of growing up always feels like betrayal to a child.
