Norm's Restoration Cafe

Cat waits in line.

Cat playing a video game. (Really!)

Surfin' dog!

Fishermen save an Frisbee dog.

Cat demonstrating his color-identification skills.

Guess who?

Spoiling the hedgehog. Which is not a euphemism.

This woman pretends to choke to see how her dog would react. I think he reacts pretty well! (He escalates to a surgical solution too fast, but, at least he's being proactive.)

This cat knows he looks super-cool doing this.

I linked a video of a dog interrupting a cricket game. Here's a longer clip.

Very cute: Puppy versus young goats. Stick with it until the end.

Sound on.

Don't you wish life was like this?

Still no Inman, so here's some older ones:

Inman: Soibois clash with men. There's a nice knockout here.

Fowl mouth.

Man vs. porch pirate package thief.

Coach warms up a female judo fighter.

Mostly peaceful tow.

Looter inflicts justice on himself.

Putting a politician where he belongs.

Classic orca bitchslap.

Spider-Cat!

Bat-Cat!

What the Funk & Wagnall's?! (Sound on.)

> You know the day I feared the Afghanistan war was lost? When some Big Army General in Afghanistan was telling the SOF soldiers that led the Northern Alliance Soldiers and ran the Taliban out of Afghanistan in a few months to get shaves and haircuts.

When the very last of the last people were evacuating from Kabul, some General demanded his people walk around cleaning up for the Taliban. I'm talking in the last four hours or so. I'm sure those soldiers were terrified the last flight would take off and they wouldn't know about it because things were just that stupid and hectic.

They also said that if people could get ivermectin, they wouldn't get vaccinated. And that the government was running out of ivermectin. He pointed out how much ivermectin they make in India.

And then you consider that Australia has actual concentration camps over this.

My decision to tell the modern NFL to fuck off was not an easy one.

I love the game, I had the opportunity to show a Generation Tippy Cupper today that the use of no back sets at the pro level goes back at least to 1979-

https://youtu.be/1h2Wo_sdS7U

1978 SEA at CLE Zorn has gone 2 for 17 and the Seahawk offense had been held to -7 yards the week prior. Most 20 somethings have no idea that the TCU Spread and Francis Schmidt's wide open offenses date back to the the 19 teens and 20s. I think if I had been a history teacher I would have blown my brains out last decade.

We were talking movies earlier so hope this is okay but... anybody planning to see this new movie on Tammy Faye Bakker, "The Eyes Of Tammy Faye"?

I personally think the movie is doomed. Leftists will say it's not nearly hateful enough against Christianity and Christians. Christians will stay away because they believe (not without merit) the movie ridicules them.

What is insane about that:
1) Are they saying that they should park away from other cars and without a roof in order to help with ventilation and heat transfer?

2) Are they suggesting that so that they limit liability to just the owners of the cars and not the owners of the parking garage and the drivers of the nearby cars?

It also reveals, some of Tammy's garish makeup was actually tattooed on and permanent. She apparently had a complex about makeup; supposedly she wasn't allowed to wear it as a teenager/young adult.

My family fought the Confederates and then made peace with them.

I don't know what we are living through, but I explained it to a co-worker now furloughed who refused the jab thusly.

"Reality is a snapshot in time, in 1912 Russia you and I would be having a conversation about how the reforms enacted meant peasants would be real citizens within a decade and the Tsar was being held in check by the Duma while riding a carriage drawn by horses."

Then I told him 5 years later we would be eating the horse and avoiding execution gangs of communists.

We had to prep the field before each game, and close it up at the end. So it was 5-6 hours a night, for which we were paid the princely sum of $3.50 a game.

268 Birkenstocks are very comfortable, insulate your feet well (which can be important if you stand on concrete floors, like I used to do at work) and break in easily. You can have them resoled. Only downside is that they can cause you to slip, given that the soles don't have much texture and there is no heel.

And I like Danskos too, but I tend to stick with flat soled shoes these days.

Sorry, at least for me it's short of embarrassing. I mean, the song is a second tier piece from an 80's Francis Monkman sci-fi concept album that Geoff thought was his from an old soundclip library.

He didn't even bother to change a single note from the original, other than lifting the synth sounds from ELP's Touch & Go at the intro. So, once Geoff was forced to admit it wasn't his piece, (Monkman's pretty cool about it) it's now a co-written song. Then Steve playing some noodly bits over it, and Jon's twee lyrics and rather odd melodic choices. Dare to Know sounds like something I've heard before as well. The schmaltzy orchestral bits do nothing.

Sorry, I just can't get excited in the least - but I'm glad people are pre-ordering and they're certainly keeping some fans happy. As far as I'm concerned, Yes died in 2015, and this is a bad tribute band. I'm glad they're keeping Alan on, but TBH this album would benefit hugely from a decent percussionist. Right now, Billy is doing his thing on bass, and Alan is just keeping time. An excited rhythm section would really help.

My first job was to pick up cigarette filters and the plastic nubs of cigars from the lawn of a neighbor's cottage. Her late husband and two in-laws used to flick them off the edge of the deck and empty their car ashtrays near the front door. It was so bad, the lawn was matted with them and the grass wouldn't grow.

She was one of "our widows" - elderly ladies whose husbands passed. My dad hired me at a penny a butt and 5 cents for a cigar nub. I made almost $50, which was a huge amount of money for a nine-year-old.

My only co-worker was a brother who quit because it was getting warm enough to swim.

Billy's production/engineering is usually flawless. Too bad they let Roy Thomas Baker ruin the last album. But it was listless as well. The orchestral parts here IMO add nothing, they're just sort of stabs that come and go. Steve as a producer leaves something to be desired - but it's his ship now. They really need somebody kicking their asses, but that's not gonna happen. I saw them for every tour in the 70's from CTTE on. Wasn't a fan of Drama really, but a huge fan of Yes West, at least 90125. After that they struggled. A lot. I saw them a few more times - but I'm the type to know when to call it a day. Still own everything up to Magnification and threw in the towel. Anderson/Rabin/Wakeman/Levin is more Yes than these guys, and Jon's voice is still amazing for his age. Meh. Too much good new prog.

Dusty in here. Pets certainly do know. I had 2 litter mates that were inseparable. The breeder didn't want to split them up, which is how I got them. Sadly, little Dolly passed from cancer. One evening almost a year later, I was getting ready to walk her sister Daisy. Daisy was all excited as usual, jumping around. I grabbed a jacket out of the closet as winter had suddenly come, threw it on the sofa and went to find her lead. I turned around, and Daisy was on the jacket, falling asleep. I wondered WTF? And then I realized. When Dolly was very sick, I used to carry her around wearing that jacket in the back yard all night so she could be sick. I hadn't worn it since. Yeah, I cried.

I've spun it a few times, and some of it is surprising - and very different from his immediate post-Yes stuff w/Badger or Flash (although he didn't have much to do with that). There's some good pieces in it, some that might be a little too ambient for my tastes, but so far a decent effort. My biggest complaint is the long running length. Which is usually my complaint about a lot of artists that want to occupy every bit of a CD. I'll reserve judgement on that until the album has time to sink in, because that's a lot to digest. At this point, I find it far more compelling than The Quest, and it's trite global warming messages.

Are you kidding?

Not that long ago, a company would come up with a product, then marketing would get on to it. They would put together an advertisement, get it to a publisher of a magazine weeks before the magazine could be formatted, printed and distributed via mail. This would take about a quarter of a year.

Then you could see the advertisement, send in your payment via money order or check, wait for the USPS to get it to the vendor two weeks later. The check would have to be manually processed and a week or two later might clear. Then they would take a few days after that to fulfill the order and get it to the loading dock. Two weeks after it is picked it up at the vendor, you might get it at your home.

Now you sit on your ass, look at a new product put on the web fifteen minutes earlier, click one button and the product is at your door the next day.

I bought my son a set of All Clad skillets and pots back when he got married over 10 years ago. They are still great.

417 Have you ever noticed how when the Pharisees attempted to trap Jesus by asking him questions, he always responded with another question that got to the heart of what they were really trying to do. He understood their motivations, what they where really getting at. He was always 5 steps ahead of them in their little schemes.

Sometimes I feel like that when processing the liberal agenda. Not like Jesus, but I see everything the my do not for what it is, but for what their intent is, their motivation, their true end goal. And it's hard to express to people that aren't awake to it.

Even skeptics mostly attribute the liberal destruction to simple things like greed or incompetence. But it is truly an intent to destroy the country, to ruin its people morally, to kill off its traditions and to foul every possible man, woman and child with depravity, desperation and death.

419 I come from a farming family. Row crop farming is rolling the dice on weather or spending out the wazoo for irrigation. Really busy during planting, somewhat busy during growing, and really busy at harvest but then downtime. Truck farming and Orchard farming require a lot of labor at harvest and fending off bugs and other varmints that spoil crops. Also at risk from weather.

Livestock farming is twelve months out of the year with dairy, poultry, and pork contending for the worst at long hours. Containment housing and milking means that you pretty much cannot go off anywhere for long. Cattle can be bad at times with disease, theft, and forage depending on pasture and weather as I suspect sheep would be.

I would not care for any farming beyond what would be necessary to feed myself and family. One of the easier ways to do that is grow potatoes and have a milk animal along with a small seasonal garden for supplements.

In the late sixties we had 12 different varieties of apples in the orchard. Different apples - different uses. I didn't know what shit apples were until I moved from home and bought them at the grocery. It's gotten somewhat better recently but still, nothing like what I once could just go and pick fresh or fetch from the cellar.

Honeycrisps are $8.99 a bag here in apple country, as are Jazz and its variations. I don't like them enough to pay that when Ida Red and Yellow Delicious (which are really sweet this year) are $3.99 a bag.

If the prices go up, I will be buying some "deer pile" apples which tend to be Wolfriver and Empire apples.

So as a prep we are adding a woodstove in THE SAME ROOM as the fireplace this fall.

I did hear one story, actually.

Any dealing with dependent animals requires a lot of work.

My father was a livestock farmer and we did the row crop farming on the side as a way to dispose of manure. We also marketed our own primary product directly to stores.

Saw a lot of Section-sized fields of corn in western Kansas. Impressive. In Colorado they often occupy at most a quarter section and are irrigated by pivot sprinklers.

Turns out the Arkansas river dries out right around Lamar, Colorado because of all the irrigation demands downstream in Kansas corn country. but then, byt the time you reach Ozark, Arkansas, it is once again a mighty river.

Back before polyester, sheep were valuable. Not so much for lamb chops and mutton, but for the wool.

If it's Clarkson's Farm, this comes up frequently. During the second episode, when Jeremy Clarkson gets the bright idea to buy a herd of goats so that he doesn't have to cut the grass in the fields that he's being paid not to plant in, his accountant shows up unexpectedly to explain to Clarkson how much money the goat fiasco is costing.

It's a pretty funny series. And I'm pretty sure that Clarkson was aware beforehand that at least some of the "brilliant ideas" that he comes up with over the course of the show (which invariably backfire badly) are, in fact, really stupid.
