The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

Let us not listen to those who think we ought to be angry with our enemies, and who believe this to be great and manly. Nothing is so praiseworthy, nothing so clearly shows a great and noble soul, as clemency and readiness to forgive. Marcus Tullius Cicero

Quote II

“Let's take a look very briefly at this. People should boycott this book. People should not reward these people at all for their conduct, these so-called journalists. Journalism is corrupt and it's dead in this country." Mark Levin

Quote III

“It has come to my attention that your educators are distributing essentially what is child pornography in the classroom. I’ve spoken to a judge this evening. She’s already confirmed that. So I’m going to give you a simple choice: You either choose to resign from this board of education or you will be charged.” Mayor Craig Shubert, Hudson, OH.

Quote IV

“As a parent involved in education, I see this as a teachable moment that things put on the internet last forever. The intent of these tweets was meant to be funny, but they weren’t, and without context years later, they have actually hurt people that I care about,” Chula Vista, Calif., school board member Kate Bishop

I'm sick and tired of Sean Hannity, Dan Bogino and the rest of the "Conservative" talking heads telling me the rank and file of the FBI are hardworking honest people. Olympic Gymnast McKayla Maroney Blasts FBI For Lying, and Trying to ‘Cover Up’ Her Allegations of Sexual Abuse Against Predator Doctor

Former Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney savaged the Federal Bureau of Investigations during testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Wednesday, declaring that the FBI tried to cover up her allegations of sexual abuse, and allowed a serial pedophile to continue molesting young gymnasts for another 14 months. Maroney, who in 2012 was considered the best female vaulter in the world, also testified that the FBI lied in a report about her allegations of sexual abuse against disgraced former doctor Larry Nassar.

Nassar was finally imprisoned in 2017 for sexually molesting more than 150 young women over a 20 year period as the US Gymnastics’ team doctor. The Justice Department Inspector General issued a blistering report in July criticizing the FBI for grossly mishandling its investigation into Nassar, and Wednesday’s Senate hearing was scheduled not long after.

“After telling my entire story of abuse to the FBI in the summer of 2015, not only did the FBI not report my abuse, but when they eventually documented my report seventeen months later, they made entirely false claims about what I said,” Maroney testified, visibly angry.

Last night The ONT had a story on National Guardsmen ordered to be school bus drivers. Tonight we learn of: How a few good ‘Bastards’ from the Army National Guard helped secure the Kabul airport
“No one could’ve predicted how this unfolded. The entire situation was surreal.”

Note: All Afghan names are monikers. Sensitive or classified information has been omitted. All accounts are true to the knowledge of the author. For more information on ‘Task Force Bastard,’ click here.

It was mid-July when the 1st Combined Arms Battalion of the 194th Armor Regiment first sent soldiers to the Afghan capital in Kabul. Back in Kuwait Task Force 1-194, better known as ‘Task Force Bastard,’ was planning for contingencies if things went south at the embassy and airport, to include over-the-horizon support to aid in a Noncombatant Evacuation Operation (NEO). Together with our counterparts at 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division we wanted to get the lay of the land. So signal officer Capt. Vince Struble, plans officer Capt. Andrew Hanson, and Charlie Company 1st Sgt. Christopher O’Shea went to Hamid Karzai International Airport. With the exception of a stray rocket attack by ISIS-Khorasan, Chris, Drew and Vince had a relatively uneventful week. The State Department seemed content with embassy operations, Kabul appeared relatively peaceful, and the Turkish coffees they enjoyed made it seem like they were on a temperate vacation from Task Force Bastard in the desert.

Several days later I met with my intelligence colleagues at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The situation in Afghanistan was worrisome. Among our chief concerns were the rate of districts falling to the Taliban and the Taliban’s superior use of information operations to drive a narrative of inevitable victory. We knew the Afghan National Army (ANA) was fragile, and Afghan air support was unreliable mostly due to maintenance and munitions constraints. ANA Special Operations Command (ANASOC), the most deadly counter to a Taliban advance, was being used for conventional operations after regular Army soldiers abandoned their posts or failed to engage with the enemy. ANASOC was fatigued and stretched too thin to sustain their current tempo.

He's black, he's an elected Democrat and he's in trouble with "The Man". This dude is going to go places. He has all the resume enhancers.

A Michigan state lawmaker who has faced months of legal woes is now facing two additional charges after authorities say he snuck a handcuff key into a county jail.

Rep. Jewell Jones, 26, a Democrat from Inkster, was caught literally with his pants down during an alleged drunk driving spree on April 6th. That fiasco was said by authorities to have involved an unknown woman and a vehicle which ended up off the road. During that incident, a belligerent Jones was caught on video arguing with state troopers and at times hurling racial slurs toward them when the authorities showed up to deal with the situation. The state police used a taser and pepper spray to bring Jones under control; Jones is alleged to have threatened to call Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) and other high-profile state officials to force the state police to stand down or otherwise cut him a break. Jones eventually accused law enforcement of using excessive force because he is Black.

If this is true, I'm upset and sad all at the same time. Nearly 60% of Americans support Biden’s vaccine mandates, poll shows

A majority of Americans support President Joe Biden’s actions to tighten vaccine mandates for larger companies and federal and health care workers, a new poll shows.

Fifty-eight percent of Americans said they supported companies with at least 100 employees mandating the vaccine or requiring unvaccinated employees to get tested weekly , compared to just 36% who said the opposite in the Morning Consult/POLITICO survey. The results were almost identical for mandates for federal workers without a testing opt out, with 57% supporting and 36% and opposed.

I guess the SJW NBA didn't get the memo.

NBA players not required to get COVID-19 vaccine: report

The National Basketball Association will not require its players to be vaccinated, according to an ESPN report on Tuesday.

Sources told ESPN that the league and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) are continuing negotiations on COVID-19 protocols for the upcoming 2021-2022 season.

The proposed protocols include having unvaccinated players' lockers far away from their vaccinated teammates and players having to eat and travel in different sections.

The company has previously reserved these displays for commercial buyers, but now it’ll sell them to anyone with pockets deep enough.

Study: Men Fart More on a Plant-Based Diet
Believe it or not, that actually isn't a bad thing

According to a new study published in the journal Nutrients, men fart an average of seven more times per day while observing a plant-based diet. On the surface, the report seems like a rare demerit for the voguish diet, which has received consistent praise from nutritionists and researchers.

“Going plant-based,” after all, has been linked to a reduced risk of cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s and heart disease, as well as trimmer waistlines, a boost in athletic performance, sharpened day-to-day focus, better sleep and even increased libido. Those who decry the lifestyle (usually men) have resorted to regurgitating an internet fallacy — that eating or drinking estrogen will lead to “man boobs.”

How many times does Facebook have to act in a monopolistic fashion before Congress does anything? Yeah, I'm pissing in the wind on this one.

Facebook blocked an ad that promoted a song critical of President Joe Biden's botched Afghanistan withdrawal, raising questions about how it applies its advertising rules.

The social media giant twice prohibited Five For Fighting's John Ondrasik from purchasing an ad to promote his new single "Blood On My Hands." Facebook claimed the song, which slams the Biden administration for abandoning hundreds of Americans and thousands of Afghan allies, "violated their policy on either politics or social issues." The song singles out Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley.

Woot Woot! Let's cheer for green energy.

Europe’s Climate Lesson for America
As wind power flags, energy prices are soaring amid fuel shortages.

Energy prices are soaring in Europe, and the effects are rippling across the Atlantic. Blame anti-carbon policies of the kind that the Biden Administration wants to impose in the U.S.

Electricity prices in the U.K. this week jumped to a record £354 ($490) per megawatt hour, a 700% increase from the 2010 to 2020 average. Germany’s electricity benchmark has doubled this year. Last month’s 12.3% increase was the largest since 1974 and contributed to the highest inflation reading since 1993. Other economies are experiencing similar spikes.

Europe’s anti-carbon policies have created a fossil-fuel shortage. Governments have heavily subsidized renewables like wind and solar and shut down coal plants to meet their commitments under the Paris climate accord. But wind power this summer has flagged, so countries are scrambling to import more fossil fuels to power their grids.

European natural-gas spot prices have increased five-fold in the last year. Some energy providers are burning cheaper coal, but its prices have tripled. Rising fossil-fuel consumption has caused demand and prices for carbon permits under the Continent’s cap-and-trade scheme to surge, which has pushed electricity prices even higher.

Bank That Lost 66 Workers on 9/11 has Paid for All Their Kids to Go to College
By Good News Network -Sep 11, 2021

On Sept. 11, 2001, 66 men and women who worked for the investment banking firm Sandler O’Neill & Partners on the 104th floor in the World Trade Center lost their lives.

In the harrowing days following the terrorist attacks, the company made the decision to set up a foundation to pay college tuition for all the 76 children of their fallen colleagues.

I called the Sandler O’Neill Foundation the other day to talk about those children, and learned that 54 young men and women have had their college tuition paid so far, with 22 young men and women still eligible.

The 54 who are now attending or have attended college have gone to every sort of school imaginable — from Stanford to Notre Dame to community colleges and technical institutes.

NOT ON Shocking moment cyclist is PUNCHED after being grabbed by furious driver who ‘knocked woman off bike’

THIS is the shocking moment a cyclist is punched after being grabbed by a furious driver.

The driver was enraged that the cycling group was riding two abreast, which is legal to do in the UK.

Ady Short was out with seven other cyclists when he was grabbed and repeatedly punched in the head by the driver.

The confrontation can be seen to escalate when the driver goes past, giving the group the finger.

The cyclist then stops and appears to try to start talking to the driver, putting their hand on the side mirror.

But at that moment, the driver sticks out their arm and grabs the cyclist, unleashing a flurry of punches.

For those who have been wanting a B-26K Counter Invader not made by Italeri or in 1/72 scale, well you are in luck.

Officially due in October is the ICM 1/48 B-26K Counter Invader. This is a follow on to their previously released solid nose and glass nose Invaders. There are model sites taking pre-orders.

The best of the luck is on eBay as several sellers in the Ukraine, where ICM is located, and Latvia already have the kit for sale.

What is interesting is that at the begining of the century, the grand 'Streamline and art deco architecture were used in Metropolis or the World's Fairs to show how wonderful the future would be- but it was a future controlled by technocrats. These cities were ones that they envisioned the poor living in. Where they could be taken care of by the state. Gilded cages.

They would have killed for the opportunity the Chinese communists have had, and achieved the exact same results.

102 Crooked polling is part and parcel of the Narrative, gaslighting, and propaganda. I'm amazed more people don't recognize this.

They will provide whatever answers you pay for. Point being, Use your own brain, and don't be bullied into herd mentality, even if you happen to agree with the premise.

This is what propaganda is about at its basic level. Making you think that your beliefs, your ideas are outside the mainstream. You've already Lost. You're on the fringe, and Extreme. And all your Friends think You're Nuts.

Now this is a pretty good trick when you think about it, and takes a certain level of sophistication, though not as much as you'd think. And "they" are gonna do what they are gonna do regardless, the difference though, is they have the illusion of public acceptance. Manufactured Consent. This type of wankery has been going on for many, many years. The first time I saw it employed historically, though I haven't looked deeply, was the US entry into the "United Nations".

Basically, most polls are bullshit. Sorta like many of our elections. And they require this, they go hand in hand. It works at the local level too. They will 'splain to you why you're "wrong"

106 Yeah. The gymnastics thing.

You have young women, 12-17 primarily learning really technical skills. You can't learn it without doing it. And sometimes your coach has to save your ass (or your neck) and grab whatever they can to keep you alive. Men, age 30-40, are strong and quick and can throw a girl in the air and catch them. I coached as well. I was damn good. But I couldn't ensure the safety of my girls during really crazy technical skills. Especially if they freaked out in the middle and needed to be plucked out of the air before they killed them selves.

I got saved a few times. I never thought about the grabs. But then. Coaches took advantage of that trust. They did in the 70s. They still do.

The FBI and USA Gymnastics need to burn. So many girls. More than you can ever know.

My only other irritation is that there are TONS of roads in the US, and do you really need to be on this main thoroughfare on a Saturday afternoon? Is it because you want to irritate people by "raising awareness"?

Bike dude gets huffy with them, kicks the side of the truck and then we all have to stop at a light. Passenger doors on truck swing open knocking bike dude on the ground. Two Mexicans proceed to curb stomp Lance in the road. Steal his bike. Me... I laugh.

This was in CA where these numbnuts think they own the fucking road.

151 That last picture reminds me of a, well, not a joke, but more of an anecdote.

A man buys a box of 20 very expensive cigars. To protect his purchase, he has them insured. Over the course of a few months, he smokes the cigars. He then files an insurance claim, declaring the cigars destroyed in 20 small fires.

The insurance company denies the claim, stating that the cigars were disposed of "in the usual manner". The man takes them to court, and the judge rules that, per the policy, the claim should be approved.

The judge then orders the man detained, on charges of arson and insurance fraud.

The IG sent criminal referrals to DoJ for both scumbags. No indictments. If a "Hollywood stop" is safe for a bike, then it's equally safe or safer for a car, which has a greater capacity to accelerate out of harm's way. What that tells me is maybe certain stop signs should be replaced by "Yield" signs. And some "Yield" signs ought to be replaced by stop signs, too.

Second ticket I got was in High School. San Diego is very much a steep and hilly terrain. Canyon country. So, going downhill on Linda Vista Blvd. in a (then) 45 zone, I passed a motorcycle cop and I was doing 52. Trick (for the era) Styer 12 speed. Yep, same as the gun manufacturer. We both arrived at the red light together, and he indicated I shouldn't continue riding, just then. Went for many, many years without a ticket, after those.

I'm sure Turmeric is good stuff, maybe you have an Adonis like figure, but take the load of your joints! It really helps.

204 If a "Hollywood stop" is safe for a bike, then it's equally safe or safer for a car, which has a greater capacity to accelerate out of harm's way. What that tells me is maybe certain stop signs should be replaced by "Yield" signs. And some "Yield" signs ought to be replaced by stop signs, too.

Not true. on a bike you have much greater visibility. I see over all the other cars, and hedges, and stuff. Yeah, that is true also for trucks and for cars on wide open intersections, but not as much. You also hear oncoming traffic and you are risking death with no chance of hurting anyone if you are wrong. I hate when car stops, and I stop and they don't seem to understand that even if I have ROW, I will not go until they acknowledge me since if they did not see me they could go and kill me. Better for me to get out of intersections as quick as possible when I can than to stop and wait.

I've heard that they don't work, from people who know how the coils are supposed to operate. They detect a mass of metal, not a magnet. The same people said that if you can see the pavement seams where the sensors were laid, try to stop on the seams instead of right in the middle of the box, though. It has a better chance of detecting metal if it's close to the coil, not if it's in the notional middle of the field.

Posted by: Some Rat at September 15, 2021 09:51 PM (r1z5A)

And ya don't need no rare earth magnet.. just turn the bike's key to the "off" position, then "on", and press the starter. Energizing the various ignition systems, coils, relays and such, well, it's usually enough to trigger the most reluctant of traffic light sensors. Helps if you park right over the sensor-cut in the pavement. Pro-tip. Newer systems use cameras, pattern recognition program to tell it when there's a vehicle on top of the normal "empty pavement" scan pattern. Go all Halloween Cat, (full flasher pose with your jacket?) and make yourself bigger for that camera. Might work.

They will not pay for mileage, or parking, or the test itself. If I give my info to the State, they can release that information since I have to sign a form that states I waive my HIPAA rights.

All because I have submitted a Title VII religious exemption request. So they are treating me differently, either taking my cash or my privacy (federal rights, in this case), because I'm Catholic and pro-life, or I can lose my job. They have made that threat twice now, in writing.

If you do sign away HIPPO rights, I would specify in writing on the form that it is for the exclusive purpose of reporting your test status and for no other medical information. Do that every time, and initial, and make the person receiving the form sign that they witnessed the modification to their form. Not sure if it is worth it, but I myself enjoy pissing off the fascist brownshirts.

Pro tip is to have either a bone or meat broth on the side, or cook the beans or the rice in the broth. It supplies additional aminos and fats, which bean and rice doesn't supply.

353 Spent the last few days rattling around the backroads of Southern OK and Northern TX. One thing I saw summed up up my experiences. Instantly I was like, I like these people. Decency doesn't sell so you never hear about in the media. Instead you just live it and in my case I went out seeing where I could find it. Somebody in our back yard has an apple tree, and it's been occasionally dropping apples onto the lawn. Young dog goes out and gets them, thinking they will be fun to play with. Old dog covets said apples, and harasses her nonstop to get them. I don't know why he can't just go get his own, but last night old dog chased her around the house over an apple, and it was the slow motion dog chase of the year. He has blown cruciate ligaments, so he moves at the speed of old lava. Hilarious. It went on for about 1/2 an hour, ending with old dog eating the damned apple. Now he's under my desk farting up a storm. Dog wind is a scourge.

For your files:

Remember, several months old, the old (mid-70s) activist dude who tried to scan a policeman, then managed to "get knocked down", and hit his head on the sidewalk, suffering a brain injury? Remember the photo of him on the ground, presumably unconscious, "blood" dripping (from his ear), legs extended and his ankles crossed?

Notice, in the photo on the "More Quick Hits" thread, that all of the protesters lying on the ground are clearly conscious, and that at least two of them have their legs extended and their ankles crossed ... just like the old activist dude. This can also be seen near the end of the Star Trek episode "The Empath", after Jem faints after trying to heal McCoy; the actress collapses to the floor, on her back, and then cresses her ankles.

This never happens when someone gets knocked out, or even dazed. See any boxing, MMA or Steve Inman video for proof.

The point is that "crossed ankles" is a tell. Whenever an activist is "knocked out" or otherwise on the ground and hurting, this tell is a good indicator of whether he really is out or hurt, or not. This is useful in exposing activist "performances".

Exactly. And boy did the Romans execute on the plan. Compare this to what happened in Afghanistan (pick your president, one or all). The last time we got this right was WWII. Nation building, if it is going to happen, occurs after the opponent capitulates fully. General Sherman was a poet on this point: "I can make this march, and I will make Georgia howl!"

One purpose of their trip was to drive around on backroads looking for Trump stuff (oddly enough, that was one of my goals too - what are the odds?). We had a good time for the next hour. Nope. You make Colonel on merit. To get promoted to one star takes two 4-stars to advocate for you when they have their annual get-together of the 4-stars. It might be a little different process for the specialties where you have to be qualified and where there are limited slots (JAG, medical, etc.).

Apparently, most clerics go by this:
Abortion is haram (forbidden)
First 40 days though it's pretty much allowed for certain reasons, like if reason is illegitimate or poverty;
40-120 days - only if there is pressing need like threat to the life of the mother;
After 120 days not allowed.

Interestingly, in case of rape, abortion is not allowed at all because the child is considered legitimate

Being all smart and stuff I oiled the bar and promptly got covered in oil. I also got a whack to the back of the head. Thankfully I didn't destroy the chainsaw. I still laugh at my dumbassery decades later.

440 Really furious here...with Apple. Second night in a row that I have pissed away an hour trying to download a gd 'App' from the Apple App store. Both times to be informed, 'We Have A Problem' try again later'.

That's after an entire hour (each night) of jumping through their hoops to get access. Screw it. Honestly, if Steve Jobs' grave was nearby, I'd drive over there and take a piss on it right now.

442 It's pretty much academic, in various ways, obviously, but jeebus the pathetic inept farce that is the NYT and other major media. Their story - itself a comical game of Twister aimed at keeping their vapid readership, still, from certain unsavory information and conclusions - covers ground broken by independent real journalists long ago. They call the Steel dossier a "notorious compendium of rumors" about Trump and RUSSIA!!

"Notorious compendium of rumors"

And they, the rest of the fake press, and the vile FBI/DOJ - AND implicitly the absurd Mueller witch-hunt - based all of their ridiculous and obviously indefensible assault on an elected public figure on it, for years.

And of course there's little doubt that the Sussmann indictment thing was leaked by the black hats - government payroll or press - in order to try and somehow shape/distort/prep any indictment news.

461 I am not familiar with the statutes under which people might be indicted. However September 19, 2016 was a key day in the whole outrageous and disastrous fake counter-intelligence political circus. The reference to a deadline of this weekend might be due to that.

Not going to get excited about, or sucked into, this round.

The coup, or whatever one wants to call it, was totally successful, which is all that counts. Only one of three components failed: Trump was elected and took office. But his term was significantly hollowed out, and then he was removed (though anyone with a clue has serious doubts about the actual votes). "Consequences" now are really nothing in the larger picture.

467 As sickening as the very thought is, how much do you want to bet that the Fed "interviewing" Maroney was a sex pest himself and was rubbing one out during her interview? It would explain the inappropriate questions, the silence, and then the dismissal if he'd just nutted and wanted to cover it up. IMO, she wasn't just molested by Nasser, but the FBI agent as well.

It would also explain another reason besides money and power connections for the Fed's complete apathy when it comes to sex trafficking and child molestation. They're not just turning a blind eye, they're *participants*.

I think so. People who voluntarily lie down on their backs frequently seem to do this, or they bend their knees (like a few of the other protesters in the photo). They are usually conscious, and not seriously hurt.

Try for yourself. Lie flat on your floor. See how long before you raise your knees or cross your ankles.

The difficulty is that even though that may be true, it is only geographically true, it doesn't mean that by road it is actually the center to a traveling population, nor does it take into account mountains, elevations, etc. See: https://tinyurl.com/3fbdw3t8
