The clot shot is just like a seatbelt.

If seatbelts randomly came with hidden spikes built into them aimed at your brain, your heart, and apparently your balls.

But don't worry as long as the driver doesn't crash the car it doesn't matter. Of course it also doesn't matter if you don't wear a seatbelt at all in that case.

137 I liked this painting at once and I think it will be more appealing as I spend time with it. The almost dull background, even the model's clothes, allow the brightness of the flowers and fruit to really pop out. Her expression is contemplative, pondering as she considers how the objects came to her. That's her reverie.

On another level, I wonder if the artist was thinking about how to present objects for best effect in a creative mindset. I know that look since I got the same expression when assembling a still life photograph. Even the contrast between the colorful objects and the old, faded pieces is attractive.

An interesting image that obviously works on several levels for the viewer. (At least this viewer.)

There's been a lot of answers to this question, and more than one might be correct, but there's a simple reason that speaks to the main Democrat objective.

What drives them? Power. Control. Political ascendancy. So how does mass migration get them there?

Easy. It bolsters population numbers in blue states, which would otherwise be hemorrhaging population. Since congressional seats are apportioned according to total population rather than citizenship or even legality, it doesn't matter where their numbers come from. As long as they can keep total chaos at bay long enough to achieve a lock on power, they win.

As a bonus, they don't have to worry about retaining the blue locusts, and can send them forth in human waves to try to turn other states purple.

Spooked the individual states, maybe. Not the Party. Their colonization is working.

CA will lose a couple of seats maybe. But the cost of those 2-3 seats is offset by statewide pickups in perpetuity in Colorado and New Mexico, with Arizona and Nevada to enter permanent capture by the next general election in 2024. Insofar as elections still matter, the Party is sitting pretty. For the cost of a few seats, they'll pick up a dozen or more forever. Give it another full cycle and let Washington do its thing and they'll pick up Idaho and possibly Montana, too.

197 Well phooey. The city wants to put sidewalk in front of my property. I've been out gently arguing with them about putting it on the other side of the street since all the utilities are on my side, and I don't want the foot traffic near my yard. They are even going to put a foot bridge over the creek that forms the edge of my property and forms a major walking constriction at the culvert.

Which is all to say that whereas I had little very foot traffic before, even though I live in the middle of town, it's about to go up as this will connect The Quarters, iykwim, to downtown.

265 I've been thinking about this self induced inflation stuff for some days and I am worried. If they are "admitting" inflation is at 5% it really means almost double that when you factor in all prices. Add in the disruption to the supply chain by shutting down the entire World for almost a year and that does not bode well for prices either.

Plus the Fed has nothing left in their bag of tricks to try and reign it in. The Fed fund rate is effectively at 0% and unless they want it to go negative there is no wiggle room there.

I think we are going to see inflation rates like we had in the 70s and 80s in the next few years.

I haven't read the proposed rule, but I would suspect it is "cash withdrawals," just like the $10k reporting limit.

And on that note, here's what's hilarious about the creeping panopticon. The $10k limit is part of the "Bank Secrecy Act" of 1970, which was an anti-money-laundering bill. Here's how that unchanged $10,000 should look today by various measures:
- $125,000 by FDIC insurance levels (50% of the FDIC limit)
- $70,500 if adjusted for inflation
- $121,000 if adjusted for per-capita GDP

The list goes on. The $10k limit makes no sense, probably never made sense, and should be at least ten times greater today than it was in 1970. But government.

They have gone on and on about how the ratings were better than the last five years of destruction. Well no shit, you have to be a real homer to expect anything different.

The Washington Football team with no name had abysmal ratings, way worse than last year. Nothing it changing here, you can't put a square peg in a round hole. They shot their wad on the first game and to be honest, they got a lot of good press from that.

416 IIRC Obama took about 1.2 people per day.

That's pretty good but those are rookie numbers.

Gotta pump those up.

417 357 I have noticed when I've been out at sports restaurants/bars no one seems to be watching the TVs anymore and I haven't heard a word about fantasy football from anyone at work this year.

418 It can keep for about two years by adding stabilizers.

I have the ability to store 55 gallons, anything more than that you and you need to bury a tank or have a storage shed or set up of some kind store that amount.

G. Gordon Liddy advised .22 ammo and pints of Jack Daniels. He made some good arguments to be honest. You can go with .45 GAP and Amaretto DiSaronno, but the market for them will be less broad.

I gave my love a violin
It had broke strings
I gave my love a top hat
With gross orange stains
I gave my love a bottle
It had no wine
I gave love some flowers
With nettle stings
And my love she said to me
No loser, you can't boink my thing!

it is all down to sports books now. They killed caring about you local team other than pretty much the Cowboys. Then they killed off fantasy football when most kids didn't care about football anymore. Now it is all about gambling, that is all they have. Even golf has gone all in. It is a weird state of affairs, but really only gambling separates traditional American sports from the day all we care about is the local "futbol" club.

425 And a year ago we thought we won and the sky was the limit for an American comeback. We should have been demonstrating against corruption and muh Russia, back then. But we accepted that justice was real and would prevail. Demanding justice was so verucasalt.

Some of us told you.

You brushed us off. Insulted us. Said we were fools.

No wonder I stopped caring.

428 Longtime reader, never commented. A few weeks ago an art thread posted a painting portraying the betrayal of Jesus by Judas. It was a beautiful painting and I enjoyed the commentary. Naturally, I cannot find it. Would anyone happen to have a link or recall when this was posted here? Thanks all.
