22 From where I sit, I find it depressing that the those in control at the Pentagon saw fit to introduce woke politics into the Military at all levels, and now find it impermissible and surprising when more Junior Officers react. Sigh
It is why I deleted my FB account, so I do not end up like the Marine LT Col.

And the truth is, many of us in the Military bureaucracy do fight back in a less public way that would not jeopardize out careers or the real mission.

Back from the bank and gas station, as I mentioned on the EMT. Breakfasted, had a pipe and an excellent shave, and I've reserved a room in Birmingham in case the power goes out here. 33 The best method of coffee making I've ever tried is the old-fashioned vacuum method. You've seen those old movies from the 1940s or 50s, where the coffee brewer looks like 2 pots, one on top of the other? That's the style - I don't know if the Americans invented it, but they really popularized it in the mid 20th century. It just draws every drop of flavour out of the grounds. Bit of a headache to set up, but the end result of fantastic.

75 I have a french press (for my mornings, since I will usually only have two cups) - use good beans and don't over grind them and good water. it makes good coffee

I have the Nespresso and love the dumb thing - except you have to keep it really clean AND even with that and tweaking it the result is never quite hot enough.

and I have my grandmothers massive percolator. best coffee! serves a big group

(I also have a second nespresso, a keurig, a normal 10-cup drip machine, two smaller percolators ... what can I say! I'm all about making coffee).

btw that little video up there is awesome! loved it. super interesting. the Jeff Goldblum show on I think Disney is great - he had one episode focused on coffee that was really good. loved that show highly recommend. 80 Has anybody else seen or read what some docs are saying about the T-cells in vaccinated people? It's disturbing. Apparently the covid vaccine is killing off the so-called "killer" T-cells that people's immune systems produce naturally. Those T-cells protect people from various types of infections and diseases, including cancers. I saw a video yesterday from a pathologist (runs a big testing lab in Idaho) who said that he's seeing profiles on vaccinated people with T-cell counts that look just like the profiles he used to see in AIDS patients. He also said he's seeing a disturbing increase in a variety of infections in vaccinated patients, a big increase in melanomas in vaccinated patients, and a 20X increase in endometrial cancer in vaccinated females.

It's possible that the T-cells could eventually re-generate to normal levels in the vaccinated patients. We just don't know at this point, because there were no long-term studies done before the vaccines were approved for use.

The guy we bought our house from, who then moved across the street, was killed in a seedy hotel room and his body was put under the bed. He was a prominent business man in the area. Married, 3 sons and gay. His lover killed him and put his body under the bed until he could go get his friend to help him hide the body. That happened in 2015. His killer was just sentenced to life a few months ago...then promptly killed himself in prison.

Here in MD, we have a convenience store chain called Royal Farms. They have outstanding fried chicken and great coffee. Their coffee machines have a hopper on top with beans in it. The machine grinds the beans immediately before brewing then brews your individual cup. They have a flavor called Jamaica Blue Mountain that I love. They say it's a medium roast but it tastes like a dark roast.

Lincoln was so angry with Meade after Gettysburg the great victory, that he wrote him a letter telling him how despondent he was about how Meade let Lee go and the war would go on for years. One more example how Lincoln was way ahead of his time and he was truly a great president.

Anyway, Lincoln ripped Meade but good, he shat on the guy. The nation claimed a great victory, but Lincoln knew better. A lesson he taught us all is to write the best commentary ever, then shelve it, don't send it. I am still trying to learn that great lesson.

The killer and his friend then went to a hardware store and bought a tarp and some cleaning supplies. They wrapped the body in the tarp, threw it in the back of the decease's Porsche SUV, then drove around looking for a good place to bury him. One of the car's back tail lights was out so a cop proceeded to pull them over and they took off.

He chased them until they crashed through someone's fence, got out of the car and bolted. Cop caught the friend right away and took him back to the car where he discovered the body. Took them 3 hours to find the killer.

153 houses are just houses. The meaning is what you ascribe to them. Once someone else owns them, you have nothing.

I have been to some junkyards in my day. That was the time I realized how all cars end up, they end up as scrap. We assign meaning, and there is something great about that. But if you go to a major junkyard, you reaiize that cars above anything are really just just a bunch of scrap. I am not demeaning them, I appreciate the importance. But again, go to a major junk yard, and you will see in the end what matters.

Did you see this past week that the twats at Twitter had censored a post from Dr. Martin Kulldorff, Harvard med school professor and one of the most preeminent epidemiologists and infectious disease specialists in the world?

Dr. Kulldorff's sin? He wrote that not everybody needs to be vaccinated -- only older, high-risk patients and their care-givers. But back to the matchbook, it struck me as odd at the time because the victim did smoke and there are plenty of butts in the ashtray -- the wife will laugh at that too -- but no matches are taken from the matchbook. And I'm wondering why there are no nicotine stains in the filter ends if the victim and his lover were smoking their asses off -- she'll laugh at that too -- before the murder was committed.

I just wonder what a ctrl-F search at a certain smart military blog will turn up, Ms Tami. These bolg things are great, aren't they? You can search for anyone's name on them. The wife loves the ones with otter and bat videos. Bat videos. Can you imagine?

Ah, I forget not everyone is familiar with the cultural ways of the Great White North. Up here, we have 2 sets of tires - summer and winter. "All-Season" just means "summer". And our car headlights are engineered to stay on all the time when the car is running; many people wonder why, but it's because when you get further north, the days are short and people just forget to switch them on when they need to. This is a dark, cold place, my friends.

Guess this is good practice for when I have to start worrying about imported goat fookers.

I didn't know that NAC was on FDA's ban list. Here I had got some to help with anxiety...it works...and was planning to get more.

Then I saw your post and looked into it. Yep, even though NAC has been available OTC to consumers for decades, *all of a sudden* FDA doesn't want it sold OTC because it was approved for use as a drug in 1965.

So now, at this moment in time, someone at FDA woke up and noticed?

I looked a little further. Turns out NAC can combat early COVID-19 symptoms.

To be honest, i didnt give a shit. I did it because I said the day after the first shot I would neve wear the mask again.

I look at these lemmings today, they are all vaxxed, and 90 percent of them wear the mask. These people are seriously ill, but not mask or vax will change that.

I recall going to the country, the real part of my state a year ago an almost no one was masked. Even a few months ago the majority in the cities were not masked. Today more are masked, they are scared as shit over the variant.

i have never worn the mask outside and I have not worn in since May in any forum. If you ask me to wear it,I wlll flat out leave. I refuse to wear it, life is too short and people are being trained to do anything by fiat. THey don't even need laws

Yeah, so, we have found out that the "vaccine" isn't an immunization shot, it's more of a "it will statistically lessen your symptoms" shot. Certainly NOT the silver bullet we were sold. Yes, the vaccinated are showing same levels of viral load as the un-vaxxed. Hence the new guidance for "even the vaxxed have to mask!"

Yeah, that seems unlikely. But we could have a lot of people who are very sick in 2 years, who would not otherwise have been sick, because they got the vaccine and destroyed good T-cells that would have prevented the illness. And people should be advised of that risk when they choose whether or not to get vaccinated. But they are not getting that information, because it's being censored by the "everybody must get vaxed" and "the vaccines are totally safe and completely effective" crowd, which includes the government and the FB, Twatter, google enforcers.

That some would find meaning to a house where someone died is pretty amazing really. A house is what you make of it. IT is your actions that matter. I guess I could try to do an exorcism myself. I got a call from some woman from some Latin American country-who was not in my church who said she had a ghost and the priest did something but it hadn't helped. My friend the Eastern Orthodox minister gave me some holy water and I found a liturgy and did an exorcism. I didn't hear from her so evidently it worked or she went to somebody else.

Yes, there is so much we don't know that could turn out to be really, really bad. Or not. We just don't know. But the government -- and its fascist handmaidens at FB, Twatter, etc. -- shouldn't be suppressing information.

That Israeli study showed that the vaccines lose effectiveness pretty quickly. The Pfizer vaccine was less than 39% effective at just 3 months. That could turn out to be a good thing. Maybe as the vaccine loses effectiveness, the body's immune system starts building up its own natural supply of T-cells again. We can only hope.

474 My theory is that something like Gresham's Law applies to people in organizations, just like it does with currencies in economies...

Large institutions are powerful, so they attract wicked people like flies to honey. The best you can hope for is to keep the corruption to a manageable level. The problem is, the corruption grows over time, and never shrinks.

No matter how vigilant you are, *some* corrupt bastards will slip through the filters, and they're the most dangerous ones: the smooth, smart ones who easily hide their corruption behind a facade of probity. They're the ones who will easily advance through the institution to a position of power that enables their corruption. Once a few of these guys are in, everything accelerates.

They rip down the filters so their corrupt pals can advance easily, even the grosser and less competent ones, while impeding honest men, who are a threat to their scam. Decent people stop wanting to join up, and those who do are ruthlessly kept down. Soon you hit the point where corruption becomes total. We got there, society-wide, about 25 years ago.

Posted by: Madamemayhem

*****

Yes. Regeneron is the drug company. Regen-COV is a preparation of monoclonal antibodies against SARS-2, given as an intravenous infusion over some length of time on the order of 1/2 to 1 hour.

This is essentially a mass produced copying machine. A specific anti-COVID antibody (naturally occurring protein) is isolated, a DNA blueprint that codes for that protein is prepared, and then in a metaphorical. beaker, many multiple copies of of that antibody are manufactured using the DNA template like a copying machine. The antibody preparation is then infused into the blood stream to provide a temporary 'army' of circulating first responders. This is also known as passive immunity. Key feature is that it is time limited, but effective in the early stages when the virus is reproducing rapidly in the body.

It was a 20 foot span, and their "new beam" was a 6x6 toe nailed to the face of the studs. Frigging toe nailed, nothing under. The back of the house was sagged so bad that when we jacked it up the upstairs toilet sprang a leak.

Well, first you have to roast the beans. Not the typical way of preparing beans (or is the coffee bean a nut?).

I wonder more about how long it took pre-Columbian Central Americans to figure out how to make what we call cacao.

It was a 20 foot span, and their "new beam" was a 6x6 toe nailed to the face of the studs. Frigging toe nailed, nothing under. The back of the house was sagged so bad that when we jacked it up the upstairs toilet sprang a leak.

I appreciate the commentary but the wording means something. The comparison is between someone who go the legit wuflu and someone who did not. My question is how many have been tested. If you are asymptomatic, than i understand they will not test you. I think there needs to be a test anyone can get to see if they ever had it. I am not saying this doesn't exist, I am saying no one is pushing it.

i am not defending the vaxx. I think all of this has been stupid and on the fly. But they are comparing the vaxxed to people who have had the disease. They are not saying the vaxx is worse than being unvaxxed. If I have this wrong, please tell me, I don't want to spill bs.

606 Of course it doesn't help when people of faith hang out increasingly with leftist academic types-who except for some Christian schools are not religious. Why would one expect their faith to grow and deepen if everybody around you thinks it's all bunk?

Since standard treatment is "go home until your lips turn blue and we can put you on a ventilator" why not take what you would for a cold or flu, Zinc sulfate, vitamin C, vitamin D and lots of aspirin?
You can check if you want to take quercitin or Co-Q-10 or fish oil as well.

Thinking that the "rules" of religion are all bunk has a strong attraction to people who want to break the rules. Increasingly even religion is lawless.

610 On Rt 80 in PA yesterday we passed a welder's truck. It had written on its side, "I'm here because you broke something." It made me laugh.

Thanks for letting me post, which I do infrequently, as it helps with the shouting, cursing, malevolence I feel.

It's frightening in many ways. I hate to see good laws, heritages, and traditional morality fall. We talk about the medical profession giving way to political doctrine, but medicine is sort of a latecomer to this view.

Whatever people say about the left, their methods have largely worked. Give groups funding to break laws and behave unethically and you will get exactly that.

617 173 Speaking of recycling, I have to buy a new set of summer tires for my car. What do people do with the old tires? Will the garage take them and recycle them, or do I have to dispose of them myself?

Tire places get rid of them. Sometimes they charge you like $5 per tire "disposal fee" sometimes it's just factored in and not broken out on the bill.
