US "Intelligence" Community Decides to Pretend It Can't Answer Where Covid Came From

"We may never know who is responsible," they promised their Chinese partners.

President Joe Biden is set to be briefed on the U.S. intelligence community's investigation into how COVID-19 started, with the report likely to disappoint in delivering clear answers about the deadly pandemic's origin in China.

Biden in May ordered aides to work to resolve disputes among intelligence agencies examining rival theories about how the novel coronavirus started, including a once-dismissed theory about the possibility of a laboratory accident in China, as well as that the virus originated naturally with animals, such as bats or birds.
A 90-day intelligence review the president ordered is due on Tuesday, according to White House press secretary Jen Psaki, with the release of unclassified portions likely to take a few days longer.
Yet three U.S. government officials and a fourth person familiar with the scope of the investigation said they did not expect the review to lead to firm conclusions after China stymied earlier international efforts to gather key information on the ground.
Instead, one official said the report would likely point to additional lines of inquiry that officials could pursue, including demands of China that are likely to further ratchet up tensions with Beijing at a time when the country's ties with Washington are at their lowest point in decades.
"It's basically impossible to have a proper investigation if one of the main parties doesn’t want to cooperate," said Thomas Wright, Brookings Institution senior fellow and co-author of "Aftershocks," a book about the pandemic with Biden's Under Secretary of Defense Colin Kahl. "We need to proceed as if both hypotheses are true."

But their March report here, which was written jointly with Chinese scientists and concluded that the lab theory was "extremely unlikely," did not satisfy Washington.
People familiar with intelligence reporting have said that there has been little corroboration over recent months that the virus had spread widely and naturally amongst wild animals.
Meanwhile, China has refused to give U.S. researchers the kind of access to the Wuhan lab and officials there that the U.S. believes it would need to definitively try to determine the virus' origins.

I'm not immunologist or virologist but doesn't this suggest that the mass "vaccination" program is accelerating the evolution and adaptation of the virus, and making things worse? Tolerance buildup? Maybe they didn't used to do so 20 years ago, but over time they got used to the scent and filtered it out, requiring more and more for the *wearer* to smell it and therefore think that it's enough and working - even though it is now overpowering to noses that don't belong to the wearer?

I've only masked willingly twice since this whole mess began. Once at the funeral home after my husband died (not much choice there) and once at the hairdresser's last week -- accepting one temporary inconvenience to get rid of a much greater long-term one.

So yeah, I've folded a couple of times. But as a general rule, I do not mask, and since I had a stroke due to a clot a few years ago, I'm certainly not getting the covid vax without being held down at gunpoint.

Otherwise, my age and physical weakness preclude me getting into any physical confrontations. But I can and do resist passively as much as I can, and continue my personal ministry of making rosaries (yeah, I have to buy components, so no not-buying for me).

Worth noting: the Volt is a series hybrid, meaning the gas engine only drives a generator. It's theoretically more efficient since it can run at a constant RPM, but in practice GM hasn't gotten there yet. The Toyota hybrids are parallel, where the gas engine can move the car even if the electric stuff fails.

Re boosters. The boosters they are giving now are still "Wuhan classic" spike-only. This would be as problematic for ADE as the original.

There are only a tiny handful of world cuisines. I judge them by how much far aflung countries still want to eat those foods. Wine is the same way. Almost every country produces wine in some form, but only five or six export the stuff and make a lot of cash on the trade.

the five great world cuisines are French, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and in some ways, American. To say Italian is only about different pasta shapes is to not know it at all. To say Chinese is about take out is to not know it either. I am probably as critical of China and Chinese junk goods as anyone. But it is a great world cuisine, the key is to find someone who can make it.

But there is stuff in Japan that would choke a goat. Even Tony Bourdain was mostly put off by some of this stuff in Japan, and that guy would eat anything.

Only a very few cuisines are demanded in other countries. You wont find many Costa Rican restaurants in Bangladesh.

I think there's a lack of recognition that much progress has been made since 2016, and even 2020, and that the Biden debacle will hasten the process by which the old GOPe will be marginalized. At least that's my hope and observation.

look at Spain and Italy. They love salt cod. The Bacalao fritters in Spain are to die for. It is salt cod, reconstituted, and deep fried. We don't even have that as a minor ingredient. They learned to love it because they would send fishing vessels far afield and the only way to preserve the fish was salting it.
