The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

Facebook is a scam. It makes money on your content and personal data and doesn't pay you for it. It presents itself to the world as a service, but the only service being provided, it seems, is to cybercriminals, telemarketers, third-rate distributors of useless tchotchkes, and far from living up to it's promises of being a "Green Company", Facebook is probably responsible for more useless paper being printed upon, delivered in gas-powered mail vans, that simply finds itself in the landfill, unwanted, unread, and unnecessary in a day and age of electronic messaging and online ordering of goods and services. Matthew Noto

Quote II

“This was our biggest account in a community we care deeply about." Corley Kenna, head of communications and policy at Patagonia

Quote III

"I haven't worn a mask during this whole pandemic. I think it's gonna be pretty weird to go into a world where so many people are wearing them." British traveler Zoe Stephens

Quote IV

"Life is about always changing and adapting to different things. Today, the world wants to blame, and shame, and guilt, and fear everything all the time,"MVP QB Tom Brady

Quote V

“If the US or UK were to seek additional time to continue evacuations – the answer is no. Or there would be consequences. It will create mistrust between us. If they are intent on continuing the occupation it will provoke a reaction,”Taliban spokesperson Dr. Suhail Shaheen

I think that Rep. Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) should go to Afghanistan and lead by example.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) agreed with President Biden claiming that it’s not the not the United States’ job to build a democracy in Afghanistan. Instead, she’d like to see locals trained to counter terrorism in the region. Cheney appeared on NBC Sunday.

20 years to train and they can't and/or won't fight. But you show 'em Liz.

Can the United States Armed Forces be turned from the latest faculty lounge experiment back to the force that it was intended to be? Kurt Schlichter chimes in.

And why would one be confident? Who is the general or admiral fired for incompetence in not winning these wars? None. Like every other American institution, the military has forgone accountability as a means to incentivize success. That’s because victory is not the measure of success; sustaining the grift is. Why do you think the undistinguished General Lloyd Austin went to work for some big contractor – and then became SecDef? Was it his competence? What war has he, or any of them, won? And has any of their failures to do so cost them?

General Milley – with his stupid WW2-era uniform designed to evoke a time when America actually won wars – is a disaster of epic proportions, but it’s not all him. He’s a creature of a system that stopped prioritizing victory and started prioritizing pleasing the swells in DC over delivering victory

The great outdoors is not a place to be unprotected. Couple found dead at campsite after complaining of ‘creepy’ man - Police are treating the deaths as murder

The family of a couple killed near a campsite in Utah has revealed that the victims complained about a man “creeping them out” shortly before their deaths.

The bodies of Kylen Schulte, 24, and Crystal Turner, 38, were found on Wednesday in the La Sal mountains, several days after they had been reported missing, following their absence from work.

While the police searched campsites in the area for them, one of their friends scoured more remote locations, knowing they preferred to stay in such places.

She came across their campervan and saw a body, before ringing the emergency services. The second body was later discovered by the police.

Authorities believe the women were murdered but have yet to identify any potential suspects. Along with the victims’ family, they have appealed to the public for more information.

Bridget Calvert, Ms Schulte’s aunt, told Fox 13 that her niece and her partner had recently spoken to friends about a man who was making them feel uncomfortable.

Attention seeking whores now have a new challenge.

The Milk Crate Challenge on TikTok Has Already Left Multiple People Injured

There are many TikTok trends that the average user can take part in without worrying that much about injuring themselves. There are certainly some dances that are more challenging than others, but most of those dances aren't likely to land you in the hospital. There are some trends, though, that are much riskier. As it turns out, the milk crate challenge taking over TikTok now is one such risky challenge.

Our society has become too dependent on "technology" at times. Just ask one Mr. Michael Williams.

CHICAGO (AP) — Michael Williams’ wife pleaded with him to remember their fishing trips with the grandchildren, how he used to braid her hair, anything to jar him back to his world outside the concrete walls of Cook County Jail.

His three daily calls to her had become a lifeline, but when they dwindled to two, then one, then only a few a week, the 65-year-old Williams felt he couldn’t go on. He made plans to take his life with a stash of pills he had stockpiled in his dormitory.

Williams was jailed last August, accused of killing a young man from the neighborhood who asked him for a ride during a night of unrest over police brutality in May. But the key evidence against Williams didn’t come from an eyewitness or an informant; it came from a clip of noiseless security video showing a car driving through an intersection, and a loud bang picked up by a network of surveillance microphones. Prosecutors said technology powered by a secret algorithm that analyzed noises detected by the sensors indicated Williams shot and killed the man.

“I kept trying to figure out, how can they get away with using the technology like that against me?” said Williams, speaking publicly for the first time about his ordeal. “That’s not fair.”

I guess destruction of public property in Seattle or Portland is acceptable. Trespassing at the Capitol - NOT to prosecutors.

A federal judge ordered the release of an Oath Keepers member known by the nickname “Ahab” on Monday, despite concerns by prosecutors that he congregated outside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office with another militia member who mused about killing her.

Prosecutors do not allege that Joseph “Ahab” Hackett threatened or tried to assassinate Pelosi, but the government does claim that he traveled with a band of Oath Keepers members outside the California Democrat’s office on Jan. 6.

The deep swamp. The cesspool of incompetence. Where job performance and results don't often matter.

Deep State Failure: Russ Travers, Fired by Trump, Is in Top Afghan Evacuation Role Under Biden

As recriminations fly among Biden administration officials over who bungled the Afghanistan withdrawal, some are questioning the responsibility of Russell Travers, who was fired by the Trump administration as acting head of the National Counterterrorism Center and subsequently rehired by President Joe Biden to lead the interagency process on the evacuation operation.

PUPPY PAIN Rescue dogs ready for adoption shot dead by council due to Covid restrictions

RESCUE dogs ready for adoption were shot dead by a heartless council "due to Covid restrictions".

The pooches - including one which had just given birth - were killed to stop people travelling to pick them up and catching the virus.

What happens when you follow the money? The deep swamp is universal.

Disgraced former Afghan president has ties to Biden transportation secretary Buttigieg

WASHINGTON, DC- The swamp runs deep…in fact, it runs outside of Washington, D.C., and out of the U.S… and until recently ran all the way into Afghanistan.

That was when now-former Afghan president Ashraf Ghani fled the country with, according to the Russian consulate in Kabul millions of dollars, according to the New York Post.

Mississippi orders HIV infected people to isolate at home or face up to 5 years in prison. Just kidding the Anal Flu is good, Chinese Kung Flu bad.

The Mississippi State Department of Health issued an alert on Friday ordering any coronavirus-positive individuals to isolate for at least 10 days or face up to a 5-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $5,000.

The isolation order comes amid surging COVID-19 cases in Mississippi, as the 7-day average for new cases in the state reached 4,316 on Friday, nearly double the highest point during the second wave in January, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

Friday's order, issued by State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs, says that anyone "infected with COVID-19 must remain in the home or other appropriate residential location for 10 days from onset of illness."

The ONT Musical Interlude

On this day: 23 Aug 1967
Enjoying a wild birthday party Keith Moon drummer with The Who drove his Lincoln car into a Holiday Inn swimming pool. As the party had become out of control, the police were called to put an end to the festivities. Moon, ever keen to avoid the boys in blue snuck outside and got into a Lincoln Continental Limousine and attempted to make a getaway. Unfortunately, in his inebriated state he released the handbrake, and began rolling towards the pool. Moon simply sat back and waited, as the car crashed through the fence around the pool and into the water.

Born on this day: 23 Aug 1946

That's no way to officiate a sporting event. Genius Award Winner.

A soccer referee in Oklahoma has been arrested after allegedly shooting a gun in the direction of a player and several fans following an argument over a red card.

The incident allegedly occurred at around 4:00 p.m. last Sunday at the Pauls Valley Sports Complex in Oklahoma after referee Davi Bazeth gave a player a red card during an adult match, which meant the latter was ejected from the rest of the game.

Pauls Valley Assistant Police Chief Derrick Jolley told local station KFOR that after the red card was shown to one of the players, “the incident started to escalate, got kind of heated, [I] believe there was some pushing and shoving.

47 So what we are down to is some basic questions that we can't get answered:
Is the vaccine an evil plot to harm people?
Is the vaccine simply a med screwup because not enough testing was done?
Are they pushing it so hard because it is an evil plan, because they want the money, or because it creates new variants that they can keep Covid going with?
Is Covid really dangerous or lethal? How many people actually had or have it? Are the tests accurate?
Who is actually running the country?

It's fun to joke about Biden's senility and all that, but far as I'm concerned, the salient point isn't his mental acuity, it's the fact that he took part in a conspiracy to deny Americans free and fair elections and therefore committed treason.

73 Early days of Covid were good times, data-wise. Governments had their heads far enough up their asses that most of it was coming from various independent sources and collated by quasi-neutral community groups like Wikipedia and that one pack of quant guys with the website. Once politicians figured out that they could own the narrative by owning the data that mostly went by the wayside, replaced by cherry picked stats to support an ever-changing parade of official infallible truths.

It might have worked out if they hadn't been so ham-handed about it. But then that's the story of the 21st century, yeah? Often corrupt but competent leaders replaced by strutting fools and pompous inheritors.

116 Wiggys is based out of Colorado. Jerry is a somewhat opinionated old school textile guy, is how I'd describe him. He employs a lot of Americans, and he sources domestic American made components and materials. Excellent cold weather gear from sleeping bags to mukluks and overcoats.

One of the things he points out is all the famous brands that started out American have all shifted manufacturing to overseas. That's probably one reason Patagonia are being twats. Cheap slave labor to manifacture their wares.

I'd say the golden age of American outdoor gear was from about 1935 to 1985, many alpine climbers, skiers, and campers started their own companies. They might not have been the best businessmen, but they knew how to make good tents, backpacks, sleeping bags, etc. Remember those kits? Holubar? Something like that. Everybody had a goose down vest in 1973, I think. Jansport, Gerry, Kelty, Early Winters, Coleman, there were some great companies.

I think you misapprehend the problem, both here and there. It's not that the people overwhelmingly want liberty and a tiny cadre of authoritarians are holding the power. It's that a tiny cadre of authoritarians have empowered an alarmingly large fraction of the people to be the middle school hall monitors they've always wanted to be.

It's not the secret police who will burn your house down with you inside it that's so disgusting; it's the neighbors who will board up the doors and windows first, and those who will meet the secret police at the corner and show them which house to burn.

I remember him driving a Ford Ranchero overloaded with I think 6 or 8 mounted semi truck tires home, so he could deliver them to a customer nearby first thing in the morning. The truck scraped the driveway where it sloped up from the street. He drove it 35 miles across town like that just to get it home.

Another time he drove a full size 1/2 ton pickup with 28 RR Ties 150 miles to our cabin. Half the leaf springs were cracked after he was done.

Miss you Dad.

Anyway, when the husband finds this guy the wife goes "oh no a stranger" the husband gets a gun to protect the wife and the boyfriend and husband end up shooting each other.

Also that 350,000 man army was actually closer to 118,000 actual real live bodies. We may have been paying the Afghan Government for 350,000 men, but the a lot of them were paper soldiers.

One of the purposes of Marching and Drill was so mercenaries in the Middle Ages could actually show the man paying the bills that the soldiers he rented actually existed.

The wife is all in on Covid fear prOn. She constantly tells us that Covid is NOT a political issue, it's a PUBLIC HEALTH issue. And we'd all do so much better if we just listen to the experts.

There are way too many people like her. And she actually genuinely believes she is well informed. When I try to give her an alternative point of view, she doesn't even pretend to listen. She knows what she knows and the rest of us are just kooks.

Someone made a rather good point a while back: if the government wants to require people have vaccines in order to function in society, perhaps they should compile a list of all such required shots because I'm not aware of such a thing, or of ever having to proffer up my medical records to an employer or institution.

Mind that I'm not categorically anti-vax, I just think they're not fully understood yet and the cold-call hustle they're doing is not exactly a confidence builder.

208 The army officer is one of several Afghan officers interviewed by mobile phone during the siege and fall of Kabul.

He explained why he thinks the blame lies with Biden, not the Afghan president or the Afghan army. The Afghan army relied on a network of planes and helicopters to deliver food, fuel, and ammunition to outlying outposts. Helicopters were needed to ferry the wounded and deliver replacement soldiers. Even the bases on Kabul's mountainous approaches had to be supplied by helicopters.

While the Afghan Army had one of Central Asia's largest fleet of choppers, he said, virtually all the mechanics and maintenance crew were U.S. contractors, many of which were withdrawn months ago. Helicopter repair facilities and spare-parts warehouses were largely located at Bagram Air Base, which was shuttered by the U.S. military several weeks before the Taliban took control. Fuel, once delivered by the U.S., was also in short supply. "The Americans abandoned us," the 36-year-old Afghan National Army lieutenant colonel told Zenger. "The plan was not to abandon a country in a situation like this."

The FDA would then have to find compliance is shown from the submitted evidence. I'm not sure what stage this is. But it's all based on company provided data. No clinical independent tests. Is there any other medical procedure, drug injection, put into effect just based on company data?

The one interesting thing about the case is as the shooter and shootie walked across the street a city bus had to stop so the guy could reload and put some more rounds into the not yet dead shootie. The bus was full, over a dozen. All the people were 20-30 feet from a guy unloading rounds into another man. Total witnesses? 1 The driver was required by union to fill out report.

303 If you know how to get out of jury duty, it isn't too much of a stretch to know how to get on jury duty (provided you aren't struck by either side).

The people who should be on jury duty very often are excluded. They are not wanted, probably by either prosecution or defense.

Jury trials will be extirpated or extinct before too long anyway.

Greatly over-simplified version: the house of cards may be inexorably doomed, AND it's still worth it to disengage in the best way possible, AND it's possible to expect a collapse AND possible to misunderestimate the pace at which it will occur, AND fail to respond to the changed situation competently.

Posted by: Cicero (@cicero43) at August 23, 2021 10:48 PM (VxC1e)

324 My semi-annual call to jury duty has been neutralized twice, last few years, by an honest statement that I don't find such trials to be a good way to handle medical malpractice suits. And Why TF am I called upstairs, and in the f***ing first 12, anyway? Over and over. Casino or race-track wouldn't treat me this way.

First time was a clownshow anyway. Judge seemed Bidenesque, declining and old, plaintiff's lawyer was a rookie, flustered, defense and judge had to keep helping her. Second time was a bit more interesting, judge was good, query about background and work ended up becoming a vigorous inquisition (friendly) from judge and both sets of lawyers, because it was sorta court-related, but in a vastly different context.

This time, recently, had a valid (only somewhat stretching) "hardship" excuse not to be on a 6-week capital murder case. Good friend says he tosses his jury notices in the trash, on the advice of a sheriff friend. Last week at the cigar shop, a senior defense counsel at the courthouse here said he tosses his, too. So, I'm gonna give that one a try next year, when the g-damn notice arrives, inevitably.

325 Cicero, makes sense. If you're talking civil cases, over $$. While of course valid cases abound, outrageous and stupid cases abound probably even more, as the perverse incentive structure makes inevitable. For plaintiffs, the John Dillinger logic rules, but especially in meritless cases.

Knowing nothing, I'll say yes.

Here's a cool barrister fact. All legal prosecutions in Britain are handled by private barristers hired by the Crown per job. As far as I know, there is no system of professional state-employed prosecutors who present criminal cases in court.

A barrister from a criminal bar chambers might prosecute a case one month, and defend an accused the next.

381 Cicero, that is interesting. Given the clearly derailed system in the US (state has too much power apart from merit under the law and facts of the case/process is the punishment), and on top of that the abuses that pretty clearly stem from having a permanent prosecuting bureaucracy with limitless resources and no real oversight, that system might have some potential.

Jury trials have at least been experimentally tried in Italy and I think Japan in recent years. Anyone exposed to the civil (Napoleonic) courts might find some elements quite appealing alongside some of the shortcomings of our system.

No, that would suck. But when you have a video tape (with no audio) of someone the officer says was speeding, swerving, and driving drunk and you don't see anything that could be called "swerving" and the driver never sways during any of the tests, then yes there is satisfaction. It can be.
First, typically a general, or anyone over 20 years of service can retire.
But an officer cannot protest in uniform, or while acting as an officer openly criticize the president, or higher ranking officers. Doing so violates two Articles of the UCMJ. Conduct unbecoming, and uttering "contemptuous words and phrases."
Its seldom brought up, but it exists.

414 It's fun to joke about Biden's senility and all that, but far as I'm concerned, the salient point isn't his mental acuity, it's the fact that he took part in a conspiracy to deny Americans free and fair elections and therefore committed treason. Nothing else about him really matters.

I have to get up in about two and a half hours anyway because it's my son's last day of work and he has to be there by 6:00 a.m and although he has two alarms set he really has a problem getting up when he's on that schedule and needs a somewhat grumpy parental nudge. He does better when he has to work from 9 to 5 or even 2 p.m to 11

it was a classic Seinfeld episode. The guy they called The Soup Nazi sued them I think. I am not sure about that but he got really pissed. Too bad because it was one of the best sitcom episodes. A recurring but occasional character on the Seinfeld show. I never saw so much as one minute of that show in original broadcast, but know it a bit through Horde lore.

In the show, the Soup Nazi (owner of a lunch counter where soup was a menu item), would deny anyone who pissed him off, from the soup. "No Soup for YOU!"., and etc.

Those who watched Seinfeld, tell the rest of us that the scenes were indeed, of humor. I do not know, myself, having seen only brief online clips, and never an entire show.

If there are 10k Americans in Afghanistan, it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to find one. How many hostages do you think have already been taken at this point? News is slow to get out of there, especially if they killed the Americans they found and didn't take them hostage. It won't come to light for awhile.

Also, the tallyban just got like 100 billion dollars in fedbux worth of your stuff. In a poverished, war torn country... Not a stretch to imagine them offering bounties to turn in Americans. Well, I could see that scenario playing out but I'm sure the Top MEN in Washington right now haven't thought of it

I don't like criticizing other denominations. But i have seen Episcopalians who say many of the churches are nothing more than gardening parties. You can get good gardening tips.

My understanding is the African churches of that order are way more hard core. And many churches in Europe and the Americas align with the African churches as the local leadership is lost.

504 I've always dutifully followed the directions on every jury notice summons, figuring that it is one of the obligations of being a US citizen. Once, I had a conflicting situation, wrote a letter to the clerk, and was released from duty that one time.

The one time I made it to voir dire, I got booted for, essentially, calling everyone else on the jury panel a liar. The question was 'have any of you ever slipped and fallen?'. Everyone was shaking their head no, and so I stood up and said something like I must be the clumsiest person in the world...

Yeah the plaintiff tossed my ass. She was suing for a slip and fall case against a casino. She lost in a summary judgement from the judge before it ever went to jury. I tossed my $50 check from the feds.

507 It can be. First, typically a general, or anyone over 20 years of service can retire. but an officer cannot protest in uniform, or while acting as an officer openly criticize the president, or higher ranking officers. Doing so violates two Articles of the UCMJ. Conduct unbecoming, and uttering "contemptuous words and phrases." Its seldom brought up, but it exists. Posted by: Diogenes at August 23, 2021 11:57 PM (axyOa)

Technically, an officer on the retired list is still an officer and subject to the UCMJ. That is really, really, really rarely applied, and to my knowledge it's never been applied for criticizing the President, but it could be.

Schiff said today that it is unlikely everyone will be out by 8/31. The Sock Puppet spouting he will renegotiate the evacuation deadline is nothing more than a brain cell dying and shooting out of his mouth: the Taliban today stated that the US had to be out of A-Stan by 8/31 or there will be consequences. 532 sitcoms are run by leftists, made by leftists. Even Frasier, a show based on a Republican actor, had lots of lefty story lines. I am not talking the gay stuff, most of that was really funny.

But they took their shots because they felt they had to. The guy that made the entire show was a conservative Republican, but even that didn't keep the lefty stuff out. It was a good show btw, but there were many times they were truly dicks about it.

The U.S. Senate voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to confirm four-star Army General Mark Milley as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, President Donald Trump's most senior uniformed military adviser. The vote was 89-1 for Milley, now the Army Chief of Staff, to replace Marine General Joseph Dunford. Democratic Senator Jeff Merkley was the only dissenting vote.

Jeebus. This is the kind of shit Trump must really address if he makes another run at it.

Your bonafides are solid. The J&J, and also I think the AstraZeneca (though not being used in the US atm), are based on a modified mostly dead adenovirus base. The J&J is a one shot dealio; AZ, not so sure.

The Johnson and Johnson vaccine is not mRNA based, and as of right now, it is a single dose vaccine. Like you, I work in a healthcare setting. I had the covid last DEC, and recovered. I had several reasons for getting the jab, with the primary reason being it would just make my work life easier, because I work in multiple sites across multiple counties. 583 J&J uses an adenovirus (a DNA virus) modified to contain DNA that codes for the spike protein of SARS-2. The attenuated adenoviruses inject this DNA into your cells, which then manufacture spike protein which causes the immune response. Main concerns about complications have been micro blood clots. Who knows what the incidence rate of severe clotting is, so calculating your risk:benefit ratio is challenging.

FWIW, I have NOT gotten vaccinated for reasons I have detailed elsewhere (natural immunity, cross immunity), but if I did, I would opt for the J&J over the mRNA vaccines due to the unknown long-term effects of the mRNA technique.

So far so good. But. Take the polio vaccine. They also used a weakened live version of the polio virus, to eliminate those those stubborn last pockets/reservoirs of polio in (guess where) Afghan and Packitinyourassistan. But they also thought it was a good idea to spread this vaccine around, to places like Africa, Indonesia, China, and so forth. Con't

No doubt many gays worked on that show. Bulldog was gay and he played an over the top heterosexual. Niles in real life is gay, everyone knows that. Many of the writers were gay and they had many gay storylines. I am sure almost all of them would be cancelled today for some random misstep.

Another funny thing. The Father, Martin Crane, was the most pro American person ever. But in reality the actor was born in England. The British actress was supposed to be from Manchester but she was not. Her accent was horrible and Manchurians got pissed. That was a weird one when you think about it. Why not say the actress was from the place she was actually from? Hollyweird can be weird I suppose.

621 The live 'weakened' polio vaccine virus mutated. Back to polio causing, AND communicable. Posted by: GnuBreed

******

Understandable. We really are talking about three different mechanisms of vaccination here.

1. Polio - actual polio virus, but weakened, that is introduced into the body, infects cells, produces more whole polio viruses that trigger an immune response, yet are altered to (theoretically) not cause disease.

2. Pfizer - mRNA containing the coding for a fragment of the SARS-2 (specifically the spike protein), inserts into cells, produces spike protein which triggers an immune response.

3. J&J - altered adenovirus containing SARS-2 DNA that codes for spike protein, adenovirus injects genetic material (DNA) into cells, doesn't produce more adenoviruses, but does produce spike protein that triggers an immune response.

The spike protein may turn out to be the cause of the clots and myocarditis and stuff, not the mRNA technique itself.

622 I vaguely remember my Mom being a little freaked when the day came for our Polio vaccine at school. 645 One of the great segments on Tim Conway Jr's radio show was What Did Jesse Say? Conway would take snips of things Jackson would say and they were unintelligible.

Listeners would call in with their best guess and in later years on the show's Facebook page would enter their guess. It was a lot of fun. Tim retired it a few years ago but I am betting it makes at least one come back.

The greatest night ever was somehow the manage to get Jackson on the air and even he couldn't figure out what he said.

I think it's by "serving"... 8 oz of espresso has way more caffeine than 8 oz of drip or perc. But 1oz has way less.

Dark roasts definitely have less caffeine than lighter roasts. I suppose the heat "cooks" it out more? Or maybe it's the extra oil extraction before brewing that does it? I don't know.

724 Now, compare caffeine per serving relative to mass of roast coffe beans used...

Or don't, because ain't nobody got time for that.

I was told there was to be no math. That is why I like iced tea. I know there is caffeine but I figure there is much worse out there.

727 Honestly, most days manageablen but somedays worse than others. Generally if I am over tired or under a lot of stress, it's harder to cope. Learning that my diet helps, and exercise.

exercise, but not in a gym. Get out in the sun. I think of the place I most dislike and go as far from it as possible.

730 I do think it is true that 50% of your problems on any given day can be solved by getting a good pillow to sleep on.

And no, not that Lindell guy's pillow. That damn thing effed my neck up for a month.... sorry, Mike.

732 Ok all, I'm heading out.

Try to find some good in your day.

Might take a lot of effort with all that's going on.

Yep, I've been bike riding and walking. I crave the sunshine. (Probably because I need to up my Vit D)

Ok now I'm really out.

Later, all

I think they are pretty good ,but there are other options. I have a few Lindell pillows and they are not bad. I know for a fact some only last a few years, they don't last forever.

The worst pillow I ever tried was a Japanese style buckwheat pillow. IT is likely a cultural thing, but it is like sleeping on a rock. The people who sold that pillow were very good at their jobs. I don't know if it is on youtube, but that commercial sold a lot of pillows. That had to be almost twenty years ago.

Adam Schiff was quoted as saying that it is unlikely that not everyone can be evacuated by 8/31. When this whole disaster got rolling in earnest over a week ago I couldn't wrap my around how the Sock Puppet was going to get everybody out by 9/11 let by alone 8/31. Something really bad is afoot with the collapse and evacuation and I can't sort out if is through utter incompetence or by ruthless design. It is looking more certain that on 9/1, if a miracle doesn't happen, that the Taliban is going hand out all kinds of interesting consequences one of which is Americans being held hostage. This is leaning towards making the Iranian hostage disaster look like a Weekend at Bernie's.
