No shared filesystem for now then.

  • No it doesn't. Core i9-12900K outperforms 11900K on After Effects. (Tom's Hardware)

The benchmark gives essentially identical results for 11th gen 8-core, 12th gen 8+8 core, and AMD 16-core CPUs, because it's a GPU benchmark.

3 I have Nvidia GeForce 3070 RTX in my new-ish pc. I have been using a Samsung tv for my monitor the past 6 years but want to get an actual curved monitor, would really like 2 or 3 if the card can handle it. It's use is mostly for gaming. Any recommendations?

6 I feel like hacking naughty photos of people at SUNY platsburg (or whatever it was called) isn't the treasure trove one would hope for. Those schools make Trump University look like Oxford.

I got an text from T-Mobile saying my account information may have been hacked, but nothing important (suuuuuuure) as usual I'm guessing nothing will ever come from this on thier end. They'll offer some shitty credit monitoring and continue to not offer customers discount phones.

Now to try and get some sleep before i need to wake again and spend an hour sweeping gallons of water into my pump to keep my basement from completely flooding.

7 Slow, steady rain here.

8 Posted by: JT at August 22, 2021 03:30 AM (arJlL)

We got about 4 or 5 inches in 2 hours or so. We were good for the first 1:45 but then it just started seeping up through the cracks in the basement floor, probably would have ended up with 2-3 inches in the basement if i wasn't down there and turned the pump on.

We haven't flooded since hurricane Irene. Even during Sandy our basement was dry. But there's been like 50 high rises put up in a 10 block radius since then, so that's probably adding to the problems.

I think we're supposed to get rain throughout the day today, but that shouldn't start for another 4 or 5 hours, if it's steady but not inches in an hour we might be okay.

New Brit slang term I just learned: doolally. This what high officials are using to describe Uncle Joe. It means off one's rocker, wifty, as one who is senile would display.

Yep, Uncle Joe's gone doolally.

16 Raining pretty good here

Posted by: Skip at August 22, 2021 04:08 AM (znIQ9)

17 EveR, yeah this is the rain from Henri. Funny thing is we had no wind from it last night, but Friday we had tons of wind and just a short burst of rain. I'm pretty sure my area is below sea level, but about 10 blocks from the water, so we mostly get floods just from big downpours not being able to seep into thr ground quick enough..... that or there's a broken drain pipe under my building, which i wouldn't doubt since it is over 130 years old.

Skip, I haven't started much either, except the second season of March Comes in Like a Lion, which i highly recommend. I have dropped a few, including Backstreet girls (forgot the full name, but just an unfunny series) and I'm slow watching Ouran Host Club and Mr Tonegawa, as both aren't too great but I've already invested too much time to just quit them. I also should be finishing Space Brothers tonight, which sucks since it's a really good show, though its almost not really as anime-ish, feeling more like an American prime time series or even a soap opera.

At this point approving it isn't going to do much, as they've already lost everyone's trust, so the assumption will be that it's approval is completely political, which makes sense as it's been approved in record time with minimal studies and complete disregard for the side effects.

Covid has damaged Big Pharma far more than all the people who protested them for decades.

Of course, it was earlier stated that the FDA would give approval sometime in September. This was already accelerated because it was originally supposed to take at least 6-8 months from when it was first announced that Pfizer was going for FDA approval in June. That would have made this approval take place sometime between Dec 2021 to Feb 2022.

Afghanistan pushed the timeline up significantly, it seems. Anything to take our attention away from our foreign policy debacle.
