A man accused of leading officers on a police chase Saturday afternoon in Lake Ozark and stealing multiple cars has been arrested. The Lake Ozark Police Department has not identified the suspect, but says officers arrested a Columbia man in the investigation. The pursuit began after officers responded to a shoplifting call at a Kohl’s store at Eagles Landing in Lake Ozark. Police say a man took off in a vehicle that was later determined to be stolen from Columbia, leading officers on a chase along Bagnell Dam Boulevard. Police say the driver was involved in a head-on collision on that street. The city of Lake Ozarks Facebook page says the suspect left the scene of the crash and eventually went over the first layer of a cliff. Police Department then took the suspect into custody, handcuffed him behind his back and shackled his ankles. He was then placed in the back of a patrol car.
While police were investigating the scene, they say the suspect was able to put his hands in front of him and break out the cage between the backseat and front seat of the car. He then took off in the stolen law enforcement vehicle.

Worst-case scenario: 1+2, except the Afghan refugees are still pretty religious and Utah continues to be a quirky compassionate red state.

well there were some nice places in that area until a Sultan decided to piss of Ghengis Kahn by killing his ambassadors, so he was the first target of the hordes. There was a cultural flowering around that time but got shut down by fundamentalists. The end of overland trading probably took much of the starch out of the region.

Meh, it all depends on what works for you. Hallucinogens do *nothing* for my musical/lyrical creativity; in fact, I'm completely indifferent to music on them. Alcohol used to open my creativity occasionally (at the cost of falling asleep or just wanting to watch TV). Marijuana, though, absolutely improves my musical and lyrical creativity, timing, fluidity, everything. It's like old-school TVs that had the color saturation button. Weed cranks the color saturation up. Whatever I'm doing, if I enjoy it (and it's not dangerous), cannabis sativa, makes it much, much more enjoyable. I think it has something to do with my fairly strong ADD when I'm sober.

I went to college in the 70s. Coming from a very strict religious background I did explore a lot. But I was always leery of white powder that you had no idea what it really was.
Stupid kid experimenting, but I had enough sense not to get into Angel Dust and PCP. The ones that used it were evidence enough that it was not a good life style choice.

that is how i judge a mechanic. Sure a mechanic can find something wrong with any old car, nothing can be easier. You can replace everything and the value of the vehicle wont rise a dollar. A good mechanic sees what you need to keep it running, only does that, and moves on.

For 10 months a year, I'd love to blank out the exterior temp readout in the instrument panel. I do NOT want to know it's 95 F. in August at 4 pm, or that it's 82 F. at 5:30 am. The problem is that if I stuck some black tape on there, the heat would make it stick permanently to the screen face and disfigure the car.
You can customize so many things on your car nowadays. Why can't you choose not to display the exterior temp?

there is nothing like and old school Jag. But the problem is you need two of them, one to drive and the other to spend in the shop. I still think they are the coolest cars ever, but they are very finicky.
The problem is all these other vehicles are supposed to be much more long lasting, but really it is situational. I have seen Fords that last forever and also were legit lemons. I have seen Toyotas that have the best engines ever, but the electronics were a joke.
If you buy new there is some protection. But if you buy used, most of these vehicles have the same problems. At this point i wont' say a certain make is better because that has not been my experience.

i wish I knew what to say. I was a military brat, my dad did 30 years back when that was a lot. I joined at 17 but my service was nothing special.
I look at it mainly as a historian because that is how I define myself. It is pretty damn shocking how quickly the military has changed. I am still trying to get my head around it to be honest. We always had this one thing we respected and the one thing most Americans believed it. I still am having trouble believing that is gone. I think we need to cashier most of the top brass and we can move on from this. i know a lot of people better than me that would be apoplectic about what is going on today.

Pretty much my take too. His speech "exceeded expectations" with me, but seemed to be in 3-4 parts of compete sections, so he could bail at the end of an early section if he got foggy without it seeming like an incomplete address. More emotion than I expected too. Surprised he didn't actually read "(express sadness for next line)" like he has before.
This entire Decline is affecting me less and less as I realize this is not really America anymore. I know I wouldn't enlist again to protect them. As I said last night: 10% want me in a gulag, 20% will go along with them out of conformity, and 30% can't be bothered enough to care. They're not my people. And they don't deserve to be free.
So I guess it's good I'm not in a frothing rage about something I have little control over. To borrow from Stark: I can't save the Republic, but I can still avenge it.

I don't know where you live. But if you live in a red area, or move to one, they will treat you with respect. I know enough red areas to realize they treat liberals and conservatives with respect. You are judged simply one how you treat others. In blue areas, it is much more dicey.
