Critical Social Justice is killing yet more institutions

Good morning, everyone. Lots going on with regard to Afghanistan this weekend. Things seem to change fast. I'm not going to try to keep up here. Maybe you can try in the comments. I did pick up one video from yesterday: When the Democrats lose CNN at the airport in Kabul.

Critical Social Justice in Afghanistan

There is a really good chance that Critical Social Justice played a big part in the debacle in Afghanistan. Just lately, there was the spectacle of generals fighting Tucker Carlson instead of the Taliban. But it didn't start there:

On the 18th of August, commenting on the flag above, James Lileks noted one of the inconsistencies in the application of the tenets of Critical Social Justice:

How is this not colonialism? How is this not the apogee of cultural imperialism?
If we've learned anything from WWI -- you know, Woke War One, which we've been fighting for the last few years -- it's that colonialism is one of the fundamental sins of the West, and it's predicated on racism. The White Man's Burden, and all that. It is wrong, wrong, wrong to impose our standards on another culture.

This particular form of colonialism was stupid, stupid, stupid.

That flag flew just before the Taliban's version of "social justice" took over again and women had to burn any evidence of having attended classes in Gender Studies at the university in Kabul.

But life goes on here in the USA, too. Many ongoing issues include the crusade to transform our culture to one based in Critical Social Justice. Sometimes this harms the crusaders. Are we ready to establish something new when their institutions fall apart?

Of course, the Editorial Board, firmly against recalling Newsom, chose a Black columnist to write the piece. OF COURSE. But she's behind a paywall for lots of people, who only see the headline. If you have a subscription (I don't), there's also a piece declaring that Democrats must scare their voters to the polls to fight the recall.

The Los Angeles Times is doing their part to scare voters.

In a recent interview with The Post Millennial editor and KVI Radio Host Ari Hoffman, Elder stated, "I'm not doing this to be liked. People tell me the reason why Arnold Schwarzenegger failed as a Governor and went left is that he was used to being loved. He was used to people having adulation for him; he's the Terminator!" Elder told Hoffman.
"I'm used to people calling me an Uncle Tom and a Sellout, so I'm going to make some changes. I'm not going there [Governor's position] to make friends, so bring it. Hold my beer!" Elder concluded.

The Los Angeles Times seems to be channeling Titania McGrath:

Critical Social Justice Is Killing the Practice of Medicine

You may recall that the American Medical Association has started pushing to have sex removed from birth certificates. How can anyone trust that this organization puts science ahead of politics?

The AMA supports health care for transgender children, noting that "it is imperative that transgender minors be given the opportunity to explore their gender identity under the safe and supportive care of a physician." For an organization that blindly supports genital mutation on minors, it's no surprise that they want to eliminate sex on a birth certificate.

Legal Insurrection has posted a report on its ongoing investigation of medical education and research crumbling under racial identity politics.

We have covered many times how medical schools are not being spared the meritocracy purge in the name of racial identity politics.
We have focused on SUNY-Upstate Medical University, where we had to go to court to get them to turn over documents about their racial identity programming. That battle will continue because though the court ordered documents produced, the production we received is absurdly heavily redacted. For *some* reason, the administrators at SUNY-Upstate Medical University really don't want the public to see what they are doing and how they got there.
It's not just at SUNY-Upstate Medical. Critical Race activism is deeply embedded now throughout medical schools.

In my medical history, it asks your assigned sex at birth, and then asks a series of questions about your gender identity now. I declined to answer any but the first, and had they had a comment box, it would have seen some new and exciting language.

Hmmm, Apache Junction. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall having to traverse a LOT of stoplights getting from Scottsdale to be able to leave the metro area, heading east toward the wilderness areas out that way. Looks like Apache Junction is about the last of civilization heading that way. But it takes forever to get from point A to B, due to the stoplights.

Sometimes we had to make do with less than any of us wanted, but they loved us, and the showed us through their example, and encouragement, that we could make something of our lives, if we put forth the effort.

Today, me and my siblings are enjoying the fruits of their labor... and our own.

I categorically reject the Titanic analogy. More than half of the passengers are already convinced that the officers and crew are going to get them all killed by their gross incompetence. First, we should've gone after the architects and major supporters of 9/11. That's mean a fair amount of dead Saudi and Emirate royalty, as well as a decapitated Pakistan, and a totally ruined Afghanistan, and of course, the dead body of bin Ladin thrown to the pigs or some such thing. There was zero reason to treat him with respect.

Then make it clear that now that the perpetrators were dead. We would consider all books clean as long as there was no follow up. And basically the open threat of this is your first and last warning.

The heart of the Deep State seems to be the IC. And I was flabbergasted when I noticed that the press doesn't seem to be as interested in defending the Dem in charge on Afghanistan, as it does defending intelligence agencies.

I'm thinking that maybe it wasn't that Hillary Clinton subverted the IC. Maybe, it was the IC that had a lot of dirt on the Clintons, on CGI and Haiti, on Bill's visits to Pansty Island that the IC was dictating to Clinton what they were going to do with her presidency.

Inspector had that problem a couple of weeks ago. It was something in his computer settings that was blocking the responses, if I remember right. Yesterday my wife and I discovered that damn near everyone we know is knows about and will/is taking Ivermectin. I got my hair cut yesterday, and my hairdresser owns the (large) salon. I was the one who told her about Ivermectin, sent her one of the articles, last time I was in there.

Now she has told a lot of people, 4 people she knows took it and recovered from Covid quickly. She is now taking it weekly in consultation with her doctor.

So my wife and I went down the rabbit hole yesterday to find out why it is so hard to get doctors or hospitals to prescribe something that is clearly effective and at worst will do no harm. Doctors and hospitals are receiving direct threats to have their licenses revoked if they prescribe it.

I can't get past the "WHY?". It makes no sense to me why whoever is behind this fake panic is purposely preventing doctors from saving their patient's lives.

I understand the concept of evil, but I generally believe that people have a reason for doing things, even if it is greed. I just can't wrap my head around this. Frustrating and depressing.

I guess the good news is that media blackout is not working...

No math required. The tube has weight markings on the side, like a ruler. I weigh 150. So a bit more than halfway to the 250 lb mark. And, like aspirin, Ibuprofen, etc... you don't die if it's not exact. This drug isn't like Coumadin. Very, very safe.

421 The CDC won't accept double blind studies showing ivermectin and HCQ effective if they were done in other countries. They do accept studies from other countries if they support the vaccines. If ivermectin and HCQ are used on hospitalized patients, they will accept those. They are more effective used early.
