Head CDC Ditz Rachel Walensky: European-Style Vaccine Passports "May Be a Way Forward"
European-style vaccine "passes" may be an option for the U.S. in the future, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Wednesday. Walensky spoke with CNN's John Berman one day after the CDC updated mask guidelines for vaccinated individuals. The CDC, after seeing a surge in cases involving the delta variant, now recommends fully vaccinated Americans mask up indoors in high transmission areas of the country. When probed about next steps, Berman wondered if the CDC would ever "lean into" vaccine passes.... "You know, I think some communities are doing that and that may very well be a path forward," Walensky declared. "I do want to sort of comment that in some fully vaccinated venues, if they're unmasked and there are a few people who are transmitting there... Overall it's so very critical to just get the huge amount of disease in some of these areas down."
The "science" Walensky based the new mask-even-if-you're-vaccinated diktat on was rejected during the peer review process, and doesn't concern the vaccines available in America.
At least one of the studies that was cited by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to justify changing their guidance on masks was based on a vaccine that is not authorized for use in America and was rejected by a peer review. The study in question from researchers in India analyzed vaccine breakthrough in over 100 healthcare workers and claims to show that a COVID-19 Delta variant infection generates a higher viral load in comparison to other variants. Despite no mention in the study of viral loads from the variant against unvaccinated individuals, the CDC cited it in yesterday’s updated brief as evidence that the Delta variant is transmissible from a vaccinated individual with a breakthrough infection.

That was an interesting ten minutes. So, to summarize:
1. The vaccines generally work
2. The protective effects of the vaccines wear off quickly (6ish months)
3. As the vaccine efficacy plummets, vaccinated individuals permit the virus to replicate more efficiently and at higher volumes than non-vaccinated individuals.
I don't know if that last point means that the vaccinated people get sick (or sicker) than unvaccinated, but they do allow the virus to be replicated and spread more effectively, and essentially make the spread worse in aggregate. Do I have that right?

I haven't had a serious cold since the end of Dec. in '19 which was bad. Just two minor colds, which still required me to get a negative covid test result before going back to work. But I've been pretty cold/allergy-free for a while now. I take vit. D and zink and magnesium every day since last year.

I don't know if that last point means that the vaccinated people get sick (or sicker) than unvaccinated, but they do allow the virus to be replicated and spread more effectively, and essentially make the spread worse in aggregate. Do I have that right?

I mean if you are an 80 year old man and you get the vacc, two shots, you then have the same risk as an unvaccinated man in his 50's - less than .1% or so. (Assuming all comers, specific individual comorbidity can effect on individual level.) So that's a relative decrease that's significant. What risk of death for an unvaccinated 80 year old man from the vid 1%. So its not that likely to kill you even if you don't get vacc'd. So, what are he short term risks of vac? Well GBS I guess, blood clots, cardiomyopathies although rare. What are the long term risks? Nobody knows.

How do we know the side effects are rare? Last time I checked there were close to 500,000 side effects reported on VAERS and those supposedly represent 1 to 10% of all cases. There is also CMS data that was outed by the lawyers for Americas Frontline Doctors, but those numbers were squashed as well.

Yeah false positives relate to what percentage of the population is sick and what percentage is tested. If you've got 1% of the population sick and a 1% false positive rate, test the whole population and roughly half of the results will be false positives.
