56 I'm not the biggest Van Gogh fan in the world but this is one of his better ones (together with his self-portrait, the one of his lover, and many of his rural scenes ... there's a farm scene where his father was apparently buried that's spellbinding for some reason).

Also, like many starving artists (he basically lived off his brother) this dude had a *lot* of issues. His pain, poverty, and not feeling wanted (just the story about his name is creepy as hell, who would want to live with that?) really come through in his works, all the best of which came pouring out in his later adult life in just a few-year period.

Would hang, but only in the modern gallery.

125 I don't know that this is the "real" meaning behind the painting, although that's the title of the article, but I found the article interesting in dealing with depression and suicide and the connection between Dr. Gauchet and Van Gogh:

I also liked that Dr. Gauchet worked to get Van Gogh buried near the fields he loved.

In a short period, like 2 years, maybe less, everything changes. In terms of something I know it was like listening to Love Me Do one day and waking up to hearing For the Benefit of Mr. Kite the next day.

That show and the Hopper one in Minneapolis were and still pinnacle days of seeing master works in person.

The IMF has their own agenda, and everyone's in bed with the WEF. I defer to the IMF no more than I defer to any institution at this point.

But they're probably right on this one. Not because they're smarter or more honest than our government, but because it's entirely obvious that everyone - though we in particular - are playing very dangerous games with money supply, monetary and fiscal policy, trade policy and more. It's all walking the inflation precipice.

hahaha, yeah, good point. If it will require $4B then the cost will be at least two or three times that.

I remember reading in the 90s that 10 cents of every welfare dollar actually made it to a welfare recipient. All the rest was job creation dollars for the system.

I'd love to see those numbers today. I bet it closer to two cents.

The last time the World had this much fake money running around was during WWII. Every Country had strict price and wage controls and rationing so inflation couldn't happen except on the black market. After the war was over spending dropped back to normal and Countries started paying off that debt, that's not gonna happen this time. We are literally heading into uncharted territory and anyone who tells you they know what is going to happen is either guessing or a liar.

361 Here's the kicker. The FDA had each of 195 entities run tests on samples containing differing known levels of killed virus to see what Level of Detection would result in a positive test (in other words how sensitive is that particular test was). The smaller the number, the more sensitive the test. The 195 different tests ranged from 180 NADU/ml to 600,000 NADU/ml. This is a 3000 fold difference between the most and least sensitive tests, with everything in between among the 195.

Yet these tests, when run on on actual patients are lumped together as a "positive PCR test".

(In this FDA series no info is given regarding cycle thresholds.)

379 @351

I'ts like how they banned the backflip in figure skating, only a handful of women could do it, Tanya Harding in practice could do it and Surya Boanly did it in competition.

But it was evaluated and being wildly dangerous for women to do it so it was banned from all competition.

As far as I can tell, they cordoned off entire wings devoted to "COVID" cases, which stayed relatively empty, and then the rest of the hospital was run at double capacity and 1/4 of the staff.

Overworked staff, decreased quality of service, decreased revenue.... so yeah. Not a fake problem, but a manufactured problem.

386 Again, I don't disagree with the sentiment. It is what it is, currently. Where it's broken completely away from what it originally was and has corrupted, I don't want to throw away what some athletes trained their entire lives for because that's how it is.

I guess I'm feeling a bit squishy today.....

I totally agree.
It's always been subjective. That's how we got the "judges". It would be damn near impossible to judge on technical alone.

Song's been around since 1970--there's even an video of Mick Jagger playing an embryonic version --complete with lyrics--to IKE TURNER.
But only now the song is controversial.

388 One might almost be led to believe that the
"overwhelmed hospital" stories were pretty much entirely fabricated
bullsh*t, too. Yeah, I suspect quite a few patients HAD it while they
were IN the hospital, but they weren't in the hospital because they had
it.

Posted by: Moron Robbie - How are doctors confirming you have the delta variant, and are they even testing? at July 27, 2021 09:59 AM

Throughout this pandemic we have heard numerous stories about hospitals being overcrowded and running out of everything leaving people to die in the parking lots and on the streets. Yet I have not seen one single photo or even a grainy video showing any of this. If any of this were really happening we would see videos everywhere even on youtube, but we don't. That should tell everyone that it's all complete and utter bull$hit panic pron.

391 Interesting how the Olympic Committee is situational with it's Wokedom though. Trannies can play because men are women, but Biles isn't allowed to perform a man's routine because women aren't men. Hmmm.
