Inspector General: Unnamed "Senior FBI Official" Had Numerous "Substantive" Conversations with Media Prior to 2016 Election, In Defiance of FBI Policy, and Accepted Gifts and Things of Value from the Media, Again in Violation of FBI Policy

Either McCabe or Comey, right?INVESTIGATIVE SUMMARY | 21-096 Findings of Misconduct by a Then- Senior FBI Official for Having Numerous Unauthorized Contacts with the Media, and for Accepting Unauthorized Gifts from Members of the Media The Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) initiated this investigation upon the receipt of records from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Insider Threat Unit, alleging that a then-Senior FBI Official had numerous contacts with members of the media between January and November 2016 in violation of FBI policy. This matter is among the OIG investigations referenced on page 430 of the OIG's [Office of the Inspector General's] Review of Allegations Regarding Various Actions by the Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Advance of the 2016 Election (June 2018; https://oig.justice.gov/reports/review-various-actions-federal-bureau-investigation-and-department-justiceadvance-2016). Subsequent to the onset of the investigation, the OIG found indications that the Senior FBI Official received items of value from members of the media. The OIG investigation substantiated the allegation that the Senior FBI Official had numerous unauthorized contacts with the media from 2014 through 2016, in violation of FBI policy. In addition to substantive communications with reporters, this media contact included unauthorized social engagements outside of FBI Headquarters involving drinks, lunches, and dinners. The OIG also found that the Senior FBI Official violated federal regulations and FBI policy when the Senior FBI Official accepted tickets from members of the media to two black tie dinner events, one valued at $225 and the other valued at $300, and received transportation to one event from a reporter, all without prior authorization. The Senior FBI Official retired from the FBI prior to being contacted by the OIG for an interview.This may indicate it's not Comey, who I think was fired. Or was he fired as head of the FBI, but then resigned from the FBI? (That is, getting canned as director does not mean you're not still an FBI employee.) McCabe resigned, I think.
When later contacted by the OIG for a voluntary interview, the Senior FBI Official declined to be interviewed. The OIG has the authority to compel testimony from current Department employees upon informing them that their statements will not be used to incriminate them in a criminal proceeding. The OIG does not have the authority to compel or subpoena testimony from former Department employees, including those who retire or resign during the course of an OIG investigation. The OIG has completed its investigation and is providing this report to the FBI for its information.Andy McCarthy will be vouching for the unquestionable integrity of all Senior FBI Officials in 3... 2... 1... They *all* involve wrongdoing by investigators. Every terrorist incident in living memory with the *possible* exception of the Vegas shooter (about whom we still know nothing) was an FBI op gone wrong or and FBI cover-up of a real op.
More than that, I also strongly suspect that all of their investigations are corrupt at every level. When something goes to court or goes into the plea bargain pipeline and evidence is disclosed, I am beginning to think that every bit of it that is shown is a parallel construction that happened after the fact in order to whitewash all the illegal shit they did. They did it to Trump, and he was neither the first nor the last. I reckon they've had rather a lot of practice playing that particular game.

If she was there as a panel member or a speaker, that would be different, but as a paying attendee... who cares. Evan has explained all Of this on his podcast and done several interviews with Dana Loesch (one very recent). Overall BRCC has donated thousands of dollars to conservative causes and veterans causes. He explained a long time ago the Obama donation was made because he lost a bet. He reasoned the Tulsi contribution was because she was a vet and getting railroaded- and frankly I agree. I don't hold that against them because there is a lot they've done with time and money that shows where their heart is. People have used the Ritrenhouse thing as another wedge but again I agree with his explanation. You're a smart guy and it's easy to figure out what's going on here. I've made my share of 'ham-and-egger' jokes about the FBI, but what you wrote about your friend is quite true, of course. The thing that really gets me is that while there is no shortage of embedded leftists that have no problem 'leaking' to the MSM, and being protected over it, there are no gov't workers on our side that are leaking to Project Veritas, for instance. There never are. It's so discouraging, and it doesn't increase people's opinions about places like the FBI. They demoralize the very people who would be first in line to stand up for them, if they just did a little to stand up for us.

I think Soviet controlled East Germany & hay day of the KGB is the better analog to the current FBI/DOJ/Intelligence Alphabets relationship with the US people.
Years of lax enforcement of US law intended as check & balance on their power and swim lanes of work, has led to no checks & balances and no enforcement at all, against the politically aligned members of the bureaucracies. There's uber enforcement against anyone not in the politically IN crowd, as we've seen everywhere in recent years. Started in earnest during Obama, where they aggressively and relatively silently, installed highly politicized people throughout the Fed. work force, including quite clearly the military itself. Trump's biggest failure, helped by the complete apathy of elected GOP members, was failure to correct that. He should have purged the Fed. work force. He should have cut entire bureaucracies from DC location and re-situated entire agencies in the heartland, with corresponding firing and new hiring. He should have fired everybody installed by Obama, and all the people THEY promoted

I rarely put together and go to people's split-up links, because to do that on a tablet means I have to copy it all, scroll down to the comments box to use as a temporary notepad, paste it there, delete the spaces, copy it *again*, open a new tab, paste it in the address bar... and when I close out that tab, wait for this tab to reload into memory, delete my temporary work in the comments box, and try to remember what comment I stopped reading at to do all that work.
