Quote I

“Never has anybody been disqualified from a ballot here in California for a reason like that. I’ll see you in court.”Larry Elder

Quote II

“If cowards are being supported by a veil of privacy and secrecy, then social media is not a safe space. It is an aeroplane that allows travellers to wear balaclavas. If cowards want to spout racial rhetoric then say it with your name, not your username.” Idris Elba

Quote III

“We’re not alone in saying that it’s surprising that it has taken this long for it to open up a little bit more in terms of diversity"Melanie Newman, broadcaster for the Baltimore Orioles

Can't be anymore feminine than Josephine Joe Buck

Quote IV
“The prosecutorial authorities in this case have clearly reached on this indictment with regard to Mr Ibrahim’s conduct which at all times remained peaceful and docile; there is no evidence or allegations to the contrary,”Darren Richie, Esq.

Once again my age is on display. When my tax exemptions lived at home I would regularly tell them, "If you want something, work for it."

Unemployed son resents parents for giving him $100,000 and ‘spoiling’ him

‘I’m always being protected by my parents’ love in the form of money,’ Yuan said.

The son continued that running out of money had the biggest consequence of having to explain it to his parents, who had already shelled out $175,000 ‘because they wanted me to have a good education and a good life’.

Yuan’s parents paid for his entire tuition at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The son admitted that he was tweeting ‘from a position of privilege’ and then blamed his parents for taking care of him financially instead of in other ways.

‘My parents took care of me materially at the expense of taking care of me emotionally,’ Yuan tweeted. ‘It took me until this trip to even kinda experience the money they spent as an act of care.’

Fleebaggers infect a Pelosi henchman. Schadenboner!

A spokesperson for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tested positive Monday for coronavirus following a meeting last week with members of the Texas Legislature who fled the state for Washington, D.C.

Drew Hammill, a top aide to Pelosi, said the unidentified staff member was fully vaccinated and did not have recent contact with the top California Democrat, though the speaker's office is taking extra precautions as a result.

"Yesterday, a fully vaccinated senior spokesperson in the speaker’s press office tested positive for COVID after contact with members of the Texas state legislature last week," Hammill said in a statement obtained by Fox News.

Will the US Army begin accepting horizontally challenged individuals?

No more tape test? Army study to reevaluate body fat program

The Army will formally study the body compositions of more than 2,000 soldiers beginning in October, and the service plans to use the data it gathers to determine the future of its body composition program, physical fitness manuals and the much-maligned “tape test.”

The Army’s Center for Initial Military Training will lead the study in conjunction with the Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, according to an Army Headquarters execute order obtained by Army Times.

The study will take place at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the order says.

The study’s goal is to provide senior leaders with “information with regards to...taping of soldiers, body fat, and body changes, and considerations of the relationship between body fat and fitness levels,” the order reads.

The study will also evaluate alternative methods of calculating body fat.

The current method of determining body fat compliance across the force is the tape test, which utilizes mathematical formulas to calculate a soldier’s body fat based on the measured circumference of key areas of their body.

Another federal judge rules schools can require the Kung Flu vaccination. Yeah, and it's a Trump judge too boot.

U.S. District Judge Damon Leichty's ruling that Indiana University can require students to submit proof they have been vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning to campus was a blow to anti-vaccine activists and a welcome sign for the hundred of other public and private colleges and universities with similar vaccine requirements. The California State University and University of Connecticut systems are awaiting federal rulings from similar lawsuits.

Federal courts have consistently upheld vaccination requirements at K-12 schools and in workplaces, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing Arizona State University public health professor James Hodge, but this case is among the first to tackle COVID-19 vaccine mandates at public universities.

Women Athletes and clothing issues

Paralympian Olivia Breen 'speechless' after being told attire was 'too short and inappropriate'

The decorated Paralympian said the remark came from a female official at the English Championships

Too Long!!

The Norwegian women’s handball team have been fined for wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms at the European Beach Handball Championships.

The European Handball Federation (EHF), the sport’s governing body, confirmed a €1,500 (£1,295) fine (€150 per player) for “improper clothing”.

Norway’s players wore shorts during a bronze medal match against Spain in Varna, Bulgaria.

And the breach of regulations comes due to the rules specifying that women should wear bikini bottoms when they are competing.

It sounded like fun until the BAC was .10 or higher. Genius Award Winner.

Friends don’t let friends fly tiny helicopters drunk.

With the wide range of models and increasingly affordable pricing, drone flying has become an extremely fun hobby for many. However, as I always tell my kids, “with great fun comes great responsibility,” which is probably why they don’t like talking to me.

I’m not wrong though, and to prove it we have the arrest of a 56-year-old man who became the first in his prefecture to get busted for violating the newly enacted law against flying a drone while intoxicated.

The incident occurred on 12 June in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, when the suspect consumed eight cans of beer between the hours of 7 a.m. and noon. Interestingly enough, all that morning drinking motivated the suspect to start cleaning his room.

No word if they were Kettle Chips. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

Emergency medical care requires unorthodox techniques on occasion in order to save a victim. That is exactly what transpired on the streets of New York when a police officer used a “bag of potato chips” as he rendered emergency first aid to a stabbing victim earlier this month, according to reports.

NYPD Chief of Department Rodney Harrison posted bodycam footage Friday of the incident that involved Officer Ronald Kennedy, Western Journal reported.

According to Harrison’s twitter comments, the July 7 stabbing on 125th Street in Harlem is “just one example of the heroic work that your NYPD officers do every day.”

190 So setting myself up for some farcical and very childish humor, I get prescribed this tube of ointment that is used for a very standard and benign skin condition. Had maybe 3 tubes over the years? It's common stuff. Co-pay is usually around $15.

Today it got rejected by the insurance company. It's maybe a 1 oz tube. The rejection said the ointment cost (to insurance) is $3,600. I hate to sound naive but is that plausible? This can't be sustainable. Unless the stuff makes you crap gold, there is no way that stuff would sell on the open market for the price of a small used car. Not a shitting chance in hell.

Good old Saran wrap works best. Body's natural suction induced by a gaping stab wound plus the sanitary properties of plastic wrap (as opposed to a cloth full of greens and fibers) makes a decent first aid material.

Learned this lesson as a sixteen year old crew manager at a White Castle on the south side of Chicago after a pregnant, seventeen year old employee gutted the sixteen year old cashier with a steak knife covered in pancake batter* in front of a line of customers because he'd "disrespected her."

*one of the other employees brought in the steak knife to make themselves pancakes** on the back (unused on second shift) on their break.

**no, I still have no idea why one would need a steak knife to make pancakes.

I think I found the root of the problem, here? Not anti-Brass, but anti career climbing, ass kissing, ring knocking Brass.

At what rank does trust begin to fail and faithlessness set in? I'd imagine that most through Captain are tight, Major begins to be suspect, and from Light Bird on up, well, ya pays yer moneys and ya takes yer chances. Equally, I've never met an E-8 or E-9 that wasn't as political as all hell, though the majority I knew used their political weight more often in favor of the troops, than not.

Of course, my direct experiences were during the Carter Years in the '70s. Been a few changes, since then. Just a few changes.

It's back to 2016, where there was literally no limit on the begging, and damage to our interests, that was accepted in order to get the disastrous "deal" on nukes.

Public? What a joke. It's frigging coffee. The only reason for their success is riding their Veteran/Military status, which is branding, not product related.

It's similar to a local/regional bakery "going public".
There is nothing but an image that is unique.

Now that I ponder it more, I hope that many Democrats dump their life savings into this "investment".

There are prescription drugs that so few people use, that the cost to manufacture them is prohibitively high. Occasionally there are news articles about these instances.

There had been a couple in my area who had needed some specialized type of baby formula that was going to cost a fortune monthly. It was in the local news, and a company, I'm almost sure it was Gerber, decided to make special batches for them.

One of the things I most admire about the Marine Corps is the ethos: Every Man a Rifleman.

It has meaning. Even a Marine Aviator has to periodically serve in an Infantry posting (for a few weeks, anyway), to remain fluent in the Ethos.

So, it's GOOD that your Rifleman/Mechanic earned his Expert badge. And I hope he'll earn more Expert awards all across the Marine arsenal! (and while he turns a mean wrench, too, of course!)

482 Haven't been to Wenatchee so no idea what their orchards look like. Hood River has had a lot of orchards taken out to be turned into vacation homes for the well to do.

Picked cherries once but didn't pay that well. You work 10 days till done, usually 21 days straight. They come into the sheds in big tubes filled wirh near freezing water. You have to dress for the cold which is awkward in July. Most of the cherries we did went to Japan. No idea where they go these days but the packing sheds are still in business. Cherry growers in the Gorge usually get one good season in five years. And the cherries I've gotten at the store this year weren't very good.

Posted by: ...

It may be that, the middleman system. It can be difficult figuring out why some drugs cost so much. I had a dog that was epileptic. The phenobarbital was very reasonably priced, but he needed a secondary drug because the phen. alone wasn't doing the job. So there was a liquid that I was getting from Walgreen's, that wasn't even prescription, but they apparently didn't normally carry. Walgreens would have had to charge me a lot, can't remember how much. The Walgreens pharmacist sent me to a local compounding pharmacist, who is qualified to mix stuff up himself. HE would mix up a bottle of it and sell it to me for a low price.

I never understood why Walgreens needed to charge so much.

In any case I'm going to check my receipts, see what I paid for them (which is usually no less than 4-5 years ago, often more). I wasn't monitoring or buying much when The Great Idiocy (global shutdown panic over C19) commenced, so maybe this one should be dated from then (March 2020).

Miley's brother told me a story that put an hilarious, yet disturbing picture in my head. I think it nicely describes the current state of affairs.

He knew these people that had a parrot. Parrot got into something and injured one leg, which had to be amputated. So, one-legged parrot. He hopped around, and even learned how to sort of use his beak to help him walk around.

The parrot's two favorite phrase which he'd picked up were "Fuck me!" and "Oh Grandma!". Apparently his owners used the former a lot as an exclamation, and grandma would visit a lot, and they'd used the latter a lot when she was visiting.

So, imagine a lame parrot hopping around on the floor, bobbing his head, and sort of flapping his wings, going "Rawwwk! Fuck Me! Rawk! Oh, Grandma! Fuck me! Rawwk! Rawwk! Fuck me! Fuck me!".

But I do love his playing, still. Some humility would be welcome.

646 Something almost entirely unknown was the sorta reverse thing that almost happened in Tokyo on August 14/15 1945, when some nuts tried to put the kibosh on the surrender and, effectively, take power and isolate the emperor.

A group of school boys beat to death their head master when he translated the Emperor's Radio Broadcast calling for surrender because the Emperor would never say such a thing. Very few Japanese spoke Imperial, so only the most educated or wealthy Tokyo-ites had a clue what he said.

A 2ndary plot involved kidnapping one of the child Princes to be taken away and raised in the mountains - Yoshitsune style - so when he grew up free of foreign influences, he would return and re-establish a purified Imperial Japan.

The next morning the as the pilots were getting ready to fly out, they discovered the nose cones on their propellers were missing. To this day none of the base officers has ever admitted to removing them.

I've never been an electronics geek, but was buying Motorola flip fones in the mid '90s. But I only begrudgingly bought a "smart" fone in about 2010, as work demanded I have one. Miss my old Sanyo dumb fone. Battery for days, and a real antenna. You could text, but might have to press a numeric key two or three times to get the sought for letter. 652 Adriane, interesting. And yes, the formal royal Japanese used in the address was pretty impenetrable to many people, but the gist was clear, or made clear, to almost everyone pretty quickly. Know someone whose relative was at an airbase where younger pilots were beaten after showing signs of relief and joy after they all had listened to the speech.

Didn't know about the royal kidnap scheme!

And there were some kamikaze ops that didn't end up happening (Atsugi) and some that did (Kanoya - well southern Kyushu anyway) after the speech. Fortunately that latter one went awry, US forces did not encounter them and they simply disappeared, final location unkown.

Considering you can achieve the same effect in a C-135 I remain largely unimpressed.

That it separates the wealthy from their cash is a good, but not a universal one.

There are likely limited resources for the construction of the early stages of human space flight and this is a waste of them.

I know so, the United States is dismantling the types of industry necessary to make materials on the scale needed, add in that Lex Luthor of the Lazy Eye "earned" his fortune by acting as a conduit for shit sellers selling shit products through a heavily subsidized delivery system and you can make a non nonsensical argument that he made his fortune in a similar manner to Willie Sutton.

731 Is it too much to ask that in a story about a cop use a chip bag to save a man, it NEVER describes what he did or why??

I thought that was what journalism was supposed to do, answer the who, what, where, and why of things..
