82 Raphael made use of brilliant color in many of his paintings. But the earth tones used throughout this one, and the exquisite skin tones, are equally effective. The girl is obviously young and nubile and ready to start a family. (She may be looking forward to it. Hubba, hubba.) Her clean, clear skin, clothes and ornaments indicate she comes from a wealthy family.

I imagine this would have hung in the home of the girl's parents or her soon to be husband.

149 On boobage, historically there were a couple of things leading to most women having smaller ones: Not enough food and the need to occasionally literally run for your life. Sure Demi Rose is a wonder, but with a mob of Vikings or Moors chasing you, bet on the woman without the large sweater puppies.

In the modern world we've mostly solved those problems, so even without plastic surgery the size of boobage has been growing.

Then they're fools. If you bug out to a lower-cost place, it will work out well and you'll live like a king until your employment comes to an end. When that happens, earning a shit-ton less money at your next job has to be on your list of things to deal with. If you don't take that into account, you're an idiot.

I did this, by the way. I fled by blue hellhole and moved to a better place. I still have my job for now. When that ends, I am likely going to earn a bit better than half of what I do now when I get my next gig. I am prepared for that, and have accounted for it in my planning. I know it's coming, and I find the tradeoff acceptable. If these masters of the universe didn't take that into account, they are dumber than rocks.

357 The Misery Index hit a high of 21.9 under Jimmy Carter way back in 1980, but by the end of President Reagans first term, it had been cut in half. The average under President Donald Trump was just 6.9.

In February, it ticked up to 7.9, then rose to 8.6 in March. Last month, the misery index hit 11.3.

I figure it's similar to the dislike of pop music. It's Samey and predictable. Hell "How you remind me" is known to have been specifically constructed to be a "hit." So let's consider pop music. It's made to be popular and they have even researched that even if you hate it your brain lights up as if you like it. So figure that is a part of the Nickelback dislike.

Real time.
Posted by: Blanco Basura -(SchxB)- moronhorde.com. Not insurgents, counterrevolutionaries. at July 16, 2021 09:41 AM (SchxB)

Yes - real time. Roger Troutman, from the band Zapp, was probably the first artist that I remember that used AutoTune, for the song 'Computer Love'. Troutman was unbelievably talented, and died tragically when he was shot by his brother (!). In the hands of a true talent, AT is pretty cool. Now, it's a silly crutch, used by too many musicians who should know better.
