Grampa Cottonhead Claims That He Hit a 368 Foot Shot in a Major League Baseball Stadium

Grampa Delirium spent the weekend telling a new lie: That he'd hit a "368 ft shot" in the second congressional baseball game.

He said it was a single, because it hit the right-centerfield wall.

And he says he hit this towering almost-a-homer shot at the "old" stadium, by which he means the old RFK baseball stadium.

The fact: He went 0-2 in that game.

In 1975, Biden was so good he "got stuck in traffic" and didn't start

The pitcher Biden made look silly was, of course, ace reliever CornPop.

Zach Parkinson points out that Joe Biden -- who likes challenging people to push-up contests -- has a history of just lying about his imagined sports achievements. (As he also lies about his academic achievements.)

As sportswriter Grantland Rice is credited with saying in one form or another, "It's not that you won or lost, but how you played the game."
In Vice President Joe Biden's case, it's whether he played the game at all.
Conservative bloggers are claiming that Biden lied when he recently told campaign supporters that he played football for the University of Delaware. They say he never played a down and never was on the playing roster.
Biden's press secretary, Kendra Barkoff, emailed The Huffington Post a quote from Delaware coaching great Tubby Raymond -- an assistant during Biden's time -- reading, "He was on the team!"

Conservative bloggers are claiming that Biden lied when he recently told campaign supporters that he played football for the University of Delaware. They say he never played a down and never was on the playing roster.

But the Gateway Pundit is piling on with claims that Biden's tale of gridiron glory fumbled with the truth in a big way. In a story titled "The Longest Yarn," the website recounted Biden's speech at a campaign stop on Sept. 8 in Athens, Ohio. He told the crowd that the last time he visited Athens, on Oct. 19, 1963, he was playing for Delaware against Ohio University. He added that he nearly got arrested for walking into a women's dormitory.
The site wrote that an examination of old school yearbooks debunks Biden's story, because he is not listed as playing football in any of the years he attended (1961-65). It also cited a Biden interview in a 1984 Delaware yearbook in which he mentioned playing intramural football (flag football) -- but nothing about playing intercollegiate tackle football.
In a post titled "Win One For The Fibber," Breitbart.com detailed the Sept. 8 campaign-stop speech in which he recalled visiting Ohio University that day in 1963 because “my football team, the University of Delaware, came to avenge a loss.”
"I came, I was a football player," Biden said. "I came here in 1963, and I had to go back, I just double checked my memory -- you know, you get my age and you’re not so sure of it, you know, your glory days look more glorious than they really were and all that, so we went back on the Internet and I just want you to know, I came here in October 1963, and we beat you Bobcats 29-12."
In the CBS snippet above, Biden seems to swallow the word "player" as he says it.
The score was correct, but Breitbart -- which also says it checked yearbooks and Internet databases -- insisted Biden played no part on the field. In fact, it pointed out that in Biden's own memoir, "Promises To Keep: On Life And Politics," he wrote that he gave up playing football before the season even started.

So he played... grabass intramural flag-football, and has either lied or hallucinated being on the college football team.

Biden's White House offers "no comment" on the latest lie, which pretty much means they can't defend the lie.

Last week, it was revealed, again, that a story that Johnny Choo-Choo likes to tell is also a lie.

In fact, it's such an obvious lie even CNN warned him about repeating it.

President Biden gave a speech in Philadelphia at the end of April as part of a celebration of Amtrak’s 50th anniversary. During the speech he told a particular story about something that had happened to him during his years as vice president. The story involved an Amtrak conductor named Angelo Negri who had become Biden’s friend over the years. Negri allegedly came up to Biden one day as he was getting on the train to tell him that he had done the math and concluded Biden had traveled 1.5 million miles on Amtrak over the years, even more miles than he’d traveled by air.
But when a few news outlets including Fox News and the Daily Mail looked into it, there were significant problems with the story. The most glaring was that the conductor who had supposedly grabbed Biden’s arm to tell him about the milestone had retired decades earlier. In fact, that particular conductor died a full year before Biden hit the milestone mentioned in the story.
Jump forward to this week and Biden told the same story with the same details.

I think he's both devious and stupid, and that he tells a lie for political effect, but later, his demented, dying brain takes his own lies to be the truth.

It's a trap. I don't know anything about that place, but that type of approach is a trap. I'm friends with someone who just complained about it. The student will get a little bit of a scholarship as a hook, and then have to take out big-time loans to make up the difference.

Schools no longer care about the students. They care about enrollment. That's one of the ways they've figured out that appeals to people.

I always recommend to those headed for college, or who are paying for it, check out the ROTC program. It is one of the best scholarships around. Further, you graduate with very little debt, if any, and you have a job that comes with a security clearance...something many employers like to see.

Now my college tuition about doubled in the 4 years i was there in the early 80s so that fixed rate seems like an interesting bet.

I left Y-town in '80 after working in the IT dept of a steel company. I have no direct knowledge of YSU but I couldn't wait to get out of Dodge. Old school mill town with mill town attitudes and a rust belt mentality.

The minorities that might have thrived at YT will have been picked up by more difficult schools (Ohio state, say) and flunk out. So YT finds even less well qualified students and flunks them out. It is a disgusting policy that damages many to make liberals feel good.
