Air Force Base Hosts... Drag-Queen Show

This should definitely help the image of the armed forces, and therefore recruiting, among the young straight masculine men who have fought all wars in all of history.

I'm speechless.

Nellis Air Force Base and the 99th Air Base Wing hosted its first-ever drag show Thursday, June 17, at the Nellis Club. The event was sponsored by a private organization and provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the history and significance of drag performance art within the LGBT+ community.
Ensuring our ranks reflect and are inclusive of the American people is essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military. Nellis Air Force Base is committed to providing and championing an environment that is characterized by equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion.

I'll bet there's still another shoe to drop: I'll bet you that officers and senior NCOs were ordered to attend the drag show, just to "learn about the LGBT+ community" and to show there is no H8 here.

66 OK... the Military 'club' system is run by Welfare and Rec... and overseen by a Board of people on said base.

An outside group could NOT get permission to do anything like this, UNLESS both Welfare and Rec, AND the Base Commander signed off on it (Base CO because of security concerns... ie, they don't have Mil ID cards).

I'd be interested in hearing the stories of who in the hell went to this thing... and if anyone just walked out of the club when they saw what was going on... I know I would have.

We (the 8th grade basketball players) used it as an excuse to talk about bras and mini skirts etc with the cheerleaders who were responsible for our wardrobe and make up. When we did it it was in my opinion quirky and somewhat innocent fun. I can't imagine how that would be twisted today.

Rochelle Walensky makes no sense in her GMA interview. On the one hand, she's addressing the fact that 300 myocarditis deaths compared to 200 million vaccinations is statistically insignificant. To do this, she compares this to the 300 pediatric deaths so far, and adds to that the 36 deaths that come from the MISC Syndrome. I know that there's no math allowed on this thread, but I'm pretty certain that 300 is approximately equal to 336.

Am I missing something here?

371 I'm adding this to the list of reasons I and glad I retired from the Air Force 10 years ago. This downward slide has been going on since at least 1992 but the pace accelerated exponentially after Obama got into office. And I can almost guarantee there was subtle, but very real, pressure brought to bear to get personnel to attend. I've seen it happen many times in my career.

No bet. Not a single SNCO would have shown up otherwise. Wouldn't be surprised that some sort of "emergency" happens somewhere that forces the people attending to have to investigate said emergency.
Also willing to bet that there will be volunteers for E-4 and under for guard duty and the like.

A Drag show can be some good adult fun even for straight guys, but forced attendance in the name of "unity" does exactly the opposite.
