The left always responds to arguments like this by saying "But muh population!" And yes, those blue areas are population centers. Maybe because they think that is is a democracy, they're all about using groups of people to force their control over everybody else. ---------- Whoa, this hits home around Pugetropolis. The Seattle Times, once the "conservative" newspaper, is now the local Democrat Party newsletter without a shred of actual honest news coverage. The local TV news just parrots the national Progda line now, nearly word for word. It used to be only the local NBC affiliate was like that, now they all are. They don't even try to hide the fact they are just CCP useful idiots. It's really sad and disgusting. We should create a "70 States Project" with the goal of breaking up a bunch of states, including the creation of city-states out of NYC, Chicago, Denver, LA, Dallas, and Miami. I'd split Oregon, Washington, Colorado, break up California into five states, split Texas into three, and probably break up Florida into at least two.
Cities have become so populated that they exert an overwhelming influence over the state governments, which creates conflict since urban and rural areas have vastly different needs. The result is that rural areas are often disregarded by state legislatures. Breaking up larger states and breaking away large cities would create much more manageable, and much more homogeneous political entities, allowing for more efficient and responsive government. @tonypete, I've had 2 ablations. I understand from my doc that's pretty normal -- that more than 50 percent of people have to have a second one. I also got a pacemaker. The combo has worked like a charm. I now go to the doc once a year for a tuneup and have not had a problem since. It's much easier than it all sounds. My doc tried to talk me into it for 3-4 years and he listened to me when I said I didn't need it. He should have been more insistent and I should have just gone ahead and done it. I did not realize how much I had slowed down, because it seemed to me like I was going full speed, but I wasn't. Do the ablation.

all those red counties should just cheat like a mofo

Legislatures could easily order that counties report their totals in order from largest to smallest, with stiff penalties for early reporting. Add in a requirement that each county reports the total number of ballots cast within one hour of the polls closing, and automatic audits if the total are off by more than 2% of the reported ballots cast, and it would be difficult to cheat. The whole 'not urban' parts of states wanting to secede/realign/get out is just the logical result of Reynolds V. Sims. Long ago, counties had separate representation in bicameral state houses. Thanks to "one man, one vote" state Senates are nothing more than easily gerrymandered districts no different than the state house. This is why most states are politically dominated by their largest cities and the rest want out.
And the Democrats want to federalize that with changing orr removing the Senate and Electoral College. Posted by: Jeff Weimer at May 27, 2021 09:50 PM (fpng3) 204

I haven't been around much the last few weeks, mostly because I just had to get away from the organized looting and grifting against America, by so-called "Americans". No news, no current events, not even an occasional Steve Bannon Warroom episode.
Watching this wholesale failure of the finest country in the history of mankind is debilitating to me. This is the country that has given the poorest Americans a life more comfortable than the Kings and Queens of 150 years ago. And had more positive influence for people of all strati in other nations. And the conclusion that it seems we are in the Mark Twain history rhyme of the Weimar Republic, circa 1934 or so. Except, unlike the Jews and Gypsies back then, our homes contain a lot more than 20 rounds each of ammo. I always try to find the positive in any situation. We know from watching sci-fi movies about top secret bioweapons labs, that when such a blood spraying incident occurs, releasing contagion, that red flashing lights and alarm klaxons go off, with a sexy female computer voice calmly announcing, "Contamination detected in Sector 4, initiating countermeasures." Then yuge blast doors start slamming shut, and you hear the hisses of airtight seals being closed and ventilation isolation engaging. Armed guards in black jump out everywhere to shoot anyone who tries to escape. Someone, screaming, tries to make it through, but he shot dead, or smashed by a blast door. Camera pans to the unfortunate souls in Sector 4, the contamination zone. The calm computer voice announces isolation complete, contamination contained, and no sterilization procedures are activated. We see a look of terror on those in sector 4, as an automatic system ignites and incinerates everything inside sector 4. Then it irradiates it. Obviously Chicoms didnt' have anything like that. Even without going into the moral aspects, those electoral maps are troubling. We have reached a point in this country where the basic values of city and rural people don't jibe, and the city people are being trained by their media to think that rural values are "bad" and must be suppressed. I don't see how this is resolved...and how do you split up a country when there are little islands of one way of thinking surrounded by the other way?

Cold night, rain blowing. Going to go across state in the morning to get my sail back from the repair shop (I took a vacation day). The sail is the dacron sail my parents bought in about 1978 for the 1955 Sailfish sailboat mom bought when she graduated from university. She gave me the boat, I keep it going (just painted the bottom today) and there is a bit of work entailed with keeping an old, cheap, wood, highly sentimental, boat still sailing. Such as a grommet pulled out last summer so the sail in this spring for repair, and in Michigan that means St. Clair Shores, Mt. Clemens, Muskegon, Traverse City, or you are so f*$@ed.

Understand the reason they are slow leaking "the reality" is right now today the entire American cabal is working under the largest sword of damocles in American history with the Chinese having total coercive blackmail potential to destroy trust in American governance for decades. Watching the political class and civil service try to unfuck this football will be the most entertainment the nation has seen in two decades. THAT, is your vector. They are patient Zero. Posted by: Romeo13 at May 27, 2021 10:28 PM (oHd/0) ----- I still stand by my hypothesis that the leak of the Chinese Virus-19 was not a sinister campaign. It was more likely the night janitor emptying the trash and when he had to follow the detailed procedures to properly dispose of the dead Covid rabbits or bats or whatever animal was infected, tested, and then died. It was a lot of extra work to properly dispose of them properly, and since it was OhDarkThirty and nobody was around, he just dumped the freshly-killed animals into a plastic bag and dumped them into the regular garbage bin. The next day, the Wuhan bums, searching for that day's breakfast, found the carcasses and shouted the Chinese version of "Yahoo!" and dined like kings. Remembering a story from early 2020, the Chinese Virus started close to the Lab, and then reports of more infections like waves outward in the days that followed. Never assume some complex scheme, when human laziness and incompetence can be a realistic option. Posted by: LeftCoast Dawg at May 27, 2021 11:17 PM (sy5kK) 435

Has always been my read as well, China is a nation that builds involuntarily "disposable skyscrapers." They are even less tech savvy than the Soviets, what they excel at however is rapid analytical damage control and ruthless adaptability. The virus was in play between Sept and Nov 2019 according to reports out of India and Hong Kong. The Americans who fund GOF research saw an exposure to political harm and an opportunity if they played their cards right in a ruthless psyops and information warfare capacity and took it. That is why you saw the multi-phase integrated to a scale not seen since a declared war message discipline and shamelessness across the media specturm. The aftermath is a Mexican standoff between the CCP and the American political class with the corruptocrats slowly realizing China has them by the nuts. I don't think San Diego County is hopeless. Trump got more votes in California than in any other state. There is still a substantial population of conservative Californians -- outnumbered, yes, but it's a base upon which to build. As the idiocy of Newsome and the supermajority Democrat Assembly continue to wreak havoc on the middle class, there will be a reaction. The GOP has got to get out and organize, though. i agree with this. I don't follow California politics these days and have not done so for ages. I didn't like the statism of the 70s. The public schools sucked, even in "fancy areas". They had gun registration even back then. Other than that, the place was beautiful, the mountains were amazing. The beaches had a lot of tar, but now I am nit picking. If Trump spent the rest of his political capital turning CA, it would be a battle well fought and well worth it. He turned other places that no one ever thought would go Repub. The Dems want Texas and wont get it. If Trump helped flip CA it would be the biggest story in modern US political history, and by a long shot. Posted by: Quint at May 27, 2021 11:54 PM (OqDgx) 489

Got here late and heading to bed directly after this comment.
I've mentioned a LBH documentary site here previously called CusterApolo. The guy spent a lot time going out to Montana to film his videos. He lays out the battle in short segments starting the night before the battle until General Terry's column arrived to lift the siege of Reno & Benteen. Besides growing up relative close to the battle and spending time there, one of my dad's cousins was part of a national group that studied the battle. He came out to meet often over the years and I learned a lot more about what might have happened. The CusterApollo guy's info dovetails nicely with what I've learned. If you are interested in setting aside some time for the videos it will be worth it. Warning, there are over 30. Here is his site. https://m.youtube.com/user/CusterApollo Posted by: Beartooth at May 28, 2021 12:02 AM (q2jCh) 499

I wold like to check out Little Bighorn National Battlefield. There are so many to check out, so many I want to spend time in and learn about. My latest interest has been on the French and Indian War. I would like to retrace the entire Braddock expedition.
To me there is nothing like Getttysburg. When a park has history books written about it, not about the battle, but the history of the park itself, let's just say, it is important. Even a quick check will show they are nothing like Gettysburg. But that is not entirely a good thing. If people go, that is good, if they eschew other locales, that is very bad. Okay. Really late to the party and a reference to stuff in my neighborhood. The Custer battlefield.
A trip with the audio tour and viewing the markers supposedly identifying the dead Calvary indicates an overwhelmed force without discipline. Which the historical record says is what happened. Custer rolled the dice and continued to split his troops against a numerically and tactically better positioned force and got himself and his command killed. Visit the battlefield and the notion Custer was abandoned by Reno and Beenten will be disabused. And then swing by the old homestead and say howdy Posted by: Pete Bog at May 28, 2021 12:19 AM (Jzz++) 511

Antietam is another major battlefield park that is very well preserved. Just like in the Civil War, if your battle was near DC, it would be considered more important and more likely to be preserved.
I loved visiting Vicksburg as a kid. I was a kid so it didn't take much to impress me. But that is a site that should be seen. The Alamo is a place that has always been hallowed to me. Even walking into that place, you could hear a pin drop. I was reminded by that when visiting Westminster Abbey decades ago. My concern is The Alamo will be "re imagined" And even if I am wrong and a doom sayer, many are trying to do just that. Negativity aside, I will give my own recco for a place that doesn't get near enough visits. The D Day Memorial at Bedford VA. If you go there, there is zero chance you will be disappointed. They are mostly all volunteers and they know their crap. The site is beautiful and the history is stark. I have never known a single person to visit the place and not sing its praises. Not sure what is going on under Covid and the radial Dems that run VA Posted by: Quint at May 28, 2021 12:24 AM (OqDgx) 517

1 Ticonderoga-class cruiser, 2 Arleigh Burke destroyers, and 2 LHD or LHA amphibious assault ships, pretty sure this is what we say this afternoon off San Diego. The cruiser was actually entering the harbor, was between the sub base and the Alpha dock. Others were off shore, all making a large loop before entering the harbor.

Need to see Vicksburg. Somehow never got to Antietam despite being in DC forever. And now, Little Big Horn. I think I read that somewhat recent discovery of numbers/locations of shell-casings has led analysts to conclude Custer's opponents had more repeating rifles than previously believed. Think they were Model 1866s, an Uberti reproduction of which (in the historically incorrect 45 Colt caliber) I have and enjoy.

Guy lives and breathes American exceptionalism and Trump economic and foreign policies. Army Special Forces, 11 deployments, and a Gold Star husband. His wife, Shannon, was killed in 2019 fighting ISIS in Syria, a month after Trump wanted to pull them out but was rebuffed by the anti-Americans who fought it. **SUPPORT THIS GUY** Here is one quote from an interview: When asked if he believes that Big Tech censorship is a problem, Kent did not hold back. 'I think it's a major issue. The obvious thing here is the First Amendment, which Big Tech has infringed on, but I don't think we all realized how quickly these companies were becoming an essential part of our lives, It's not just that you get deplatformed and they take away someone's voice, which is obviously wrong, but they can demonetize people. We've all had friends who have lost their ability to essentially earn a living taken away. Their pursuit of happiness and their liberty taken away". JAPAN has always been weird with Americans. They were a horrible enemy, maybe the most brutal ever. And even if you look at their present culture, the woke would have serious issues if they gave a damn about anyone but Americans. The history of Japan post ww2 is very unique I believe. I recall in the tv show MASH that a lot of Korean War troops spent their R and R in Japan. An enemy what, a decade ago? My dad got shot in Vietnam and spent a long time recovering in Japan. He also served in Japan on many occasions after the war. He lived with Japanese families, and could use chop sticks at least as well as they could. No joke there. No doubt they are one of the most bloodthirsty enemies we ever faced. Life and history can be weird. Posted by: Quint at May 28, 2021 01:24 AM (OqDgx) 558
And the AZ vote audit is also going well. The Dems have done every legal move they could think of to stop the AZ Senate from conducting the audit, but there is this goofy thing in their state Constitution that says the Senate has the power to do such a thing. That will force many Karens and others that still think they are Americans instead of CCP lackeys, to face the truth the entire voting system is corrupt. And actual laws must be strengthened, and that the Democrats with Zuck and Soros funding forced them to be changed at the local levels, causing this massive fraud. Let them face the music. Normally I'm good with a spice level of 7 or 8 out of 10, but at an Indian place I probably wouldn't go over 3 or 4. Posted by: qdpsteve at May 28, 2021 01:39 AM (L2ZTs) 569
Quint, thanks!
Chicken tikka is "in" right now here in SoCal. Even El Pollo Loco has it. :-) Posted by: qdpsteve at May 28, 2021 01:35 AM (L2ZTs) yeah no one doesn't like it if it is made well. The key is making it well. They mostly use boneless chicken and most people screw that up. My first suggestion was Rogan Josh. I think it comes from the Kashmir. If well made it is spiced but not hot. If made poorly you get a bunch of overcooked lamb balls in some white sauce. The key is making it well. funny how that is with really any cuisine. The problem is most in the business don't give a shit. Chicken Tikka Masala comes from the UK. It is good, if not people would not order it. But that is just a good first step for liking Indian food. One of the Facebook whistleblowers who leaked the vaccine hestitancy score stuff has come out. Facebook has found him out and "suspended" him. I'm sure he will soon be fired. He was on Tucker, apparently. Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion of a Poperin Pear at May 28, 2021 01:41 AM (Mzdiz) 571

It is lamb in a cream sauce. If you can't stomach that, then don't go for it. But it is great with naan or rice. The thing is, it can't be properly made and spicy hot. I used to tell them to give me the real shit, not the gringo stuff. But the dish is not high heat spicy. Sure there are lots of various spices, but not much heat. 61 I find it very depressing that people in Libya have stronger 2nd Amendment rights than we do.
Posted by: tbodie at May 27, 2021 09:15 PM Technically, we all have the same rights. It's just the government in Libya is too weak to effectively infringe on them. Posted by: That Guy at May 28, 2021 03:15 AM (3MG/9) 583
