Space Force Unit C.O. Relieved of Duty for Criticizing Marxism in the Military

Military.com reports that Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier has been relieved of his duties pending an investigation after he appeared on a podcast and criticized the rise of Marxism in the United States military.

Lohmeier told Wood, the podcast host, that the beginning chapters of his book explore the history and foundation of the United States and how critical race theory — a study of how race and racism impact or are impacted by social and economic power structures and institutions — plays a role.
“The diversity, inclusion and equity industry and the trainings we are receiving in the military … is rooted in critical race theory, which is rooted in Marxism,” Lohmeier said, adding [that] it should be seen as a warning sign.
In the segment, Lohmeier said his book is not political, and is meant to alert readers to the increasing politicization of today’s armed forces, some of which he said he’d seen or experienced firsthand.

The left always responds to arguments like this by saying “But muh population!” And yes, those blue areas are population centers. Maybe because they think that is is a democracy, they're all about using groups of people to force their control over everybody else. Custer's Last Stand

I was reminded of this because Little's biology club is taking a trip to Glacier National Park in a week or so, and they'll be going right past Little Big Horn. I highly encouraged the group to stop. I was there several years ago, and I have to say, with the exception of Gettysburg (which is, after all, Gettysburg), LBH is probably the best national battlefield park I've been to. It's laid out so well, you can easily see the battle developing in your mind. There's a walking/driving tour that makes the events of the battle crystal clear. I highly recommend going if you get the chance, it's awesome.

And by the way, if you do go to LBH, an RV is a great way to get there. If you need one, I'm selling my 32' class A, drop me an email, my nic at gee, mail! It's the same one I took to the TexMoMe last year. I've taken it all across the country and highly enjoyed it. With Little about to move on to college in a few years, we're downsizing.

The story says he dropped his phone into the statue and died trying to retrieve it, but I'm not quite sure how. It doesn't sound like he was missing for that long, and the statue was made of paper-mâché anyway. Weird way to die.

CVS is offering a 20% off "shopping spree" if you get the vaccine, I just saw in an email. I suspect they may be tracking which customers with CVS cards have not gotten the vaccine. They could get elsewhere, of course, so not an absolute proof of failure to comply with our overlord's directives.

More accurately, a handful of powerful politicians who run the electoral machinery in those cities with an iron fist have an oversized impact on the rest of the country. In my state, 2-3 cities can basically determine the fates of the rest of the state, which is mostly rural communities.

192 @tonypete, I've had 2 ablations. I understand from my doc that's pretty normal -- that more than 50 percent of people have to have a second one. I also got a pacemaker. The combo has worked like a charm. I now go to the doc once a year for a tuneup and have not had a problem since. It's much easier than it all sounds. My doc tried to talk me into it for 3-4 years and he listened to me when I said I didn't need it. He should have been more insistent and I should have just gone ahead and done it. I did not realize how much I had slowed down, because it seemed to me like I was going full speed, but I wasn't. Do the ablation.

Legislatures could easily order that counties report their totals in order from largest to smallest, with stiff penalties for early reporting. Add in a requirement that each county reports the total number of ballots cast within one hour of the polls closing, and automatic audits if the total are off by more than 2% of the reported ballots cast, and it would be difficult to cheat.

I've had that procedure. I was recovering from intestinal surgery, and the acids were building up in my stomach with nowhere to go. So they inserted a NG tube and did a cold-water lavage of my stomach.

It was the BEST feeling of relief I've ever had! Don't knock it til you've tried it. I made them leave the NG tube in for an extra day. You don't even notice it's in there after a while.

Both are believable as Chinese quality control is a phrase, not an actual thing, and making the most of such an event is also totally believable.

Things could be much worse, but thanks to their "Wolf Warrior" diplomacy China has actually managed to piss off many of the people and nations they thought they were bribing into submission.

I know - weird how so many politicians are more receptive to ego-rubs than they are to bribes (though they love bribes, just that insulting them is way more counterproductive than any bribe can soothe. Pride, etc.)

We know from watching sci-fi movies about top secret bioweapons labs, that when such a blood spraying incident occurs, releasing contagion, that red flashing lights and alarm klaxons go off, with a sexy female computer voice calmly announcing, "Contamination detected in Sector 4, initiating countermeasures."

Then yuge blast doors start slamming shut, and you hear the hisses of airtight seals being closed and ventilation isolation engaging. Armed guards in black jump out everywhere to shoot anyone who tries to escape.

Someone, screaming, tries to make it through, but he shot dead, or smashed by a blast door.

Camera pans to the unfortunate souls in Sector 4, the contamination zone. The calm computer voice announces isolation complete, contamination contained, and no sterilization procedures are activated.

We see a look of terror on those in sector 4, as an automatic system ignites and incinerates everything inside sector 4. Then it irradiates it.

Obviously Chicoms didnt' have anything like that.

Do what your doctor feels is best for you but I had an ablation and had a heart attack in the middle of it because the doctor burned out my av node. I have a pacemaker now, of course and I am 100% paced. It is a 100 to one shot of ever happening or so I was told. But that was 17 years ago and I am totally fine. I see my doc once a year and have quarterly pacemaker checks but I can do anything I want.

412 Cold night, rain blowing. Going to go across state in the morning to get my sail back from the repair shop (I took a vacation day). The sail is the dacron sail my parents bought in about 1978 for the 1955 Sailfish sailboat mom bought when she graduated from university. She gave me the boat, I keep it going (just painted the bottom today) and there is a bit of work entailed with keeping an old, cheap, wood, highly sentimental, boat still sailing. Such as a grommet pulled out last summer so the sail in this spring for repair, and in Michigan that means St. Clair Shores, Mt. Clemens, Muskegon, Traverse City, or you are so f*$@ed.

If all works well, this weekend I will get that Sailfish back into the water. I'm sure mom would like that.

A damn is breaking on this Wuhan lab leak. The NYT just put out a piece that says the US govt. has a "large collection of intelligence" just "sitting around" on this, and that an "extraordinary amount of computer power" is being used to completely analyze it.

So, we can take this to mean that Bob@NSA may have been sitting on the proof all along. And only now is he bothering to look at it (or he already has, but only now is letting it out).

Ol' Bob might even have audio of the Chicom worker who broke the test tube or whatever saying, "Oh, Shit!" in Mandarin.

In other news, the speakers on my tv are starting to go so I went and bought a 32" Walmart store brand ONN sound bar with Roku. So far so good. Sounds better than the tv's native speakers. Louder and clearer. So that an automatic improvement. And because I'm a cheap bastard and a terrible person what doesn't deserve nice things it's economical at $130 bucks so I think that's a pretty good deal.

I'm sleepy and leaving back to California.

Surfside was our preferred spot to stay. Quieter than Myrtle Beach, but close enough to enjoy things there.
In Surfside, the kids (including this here big kid) really enjoyed Wild Water Wheels. I always got wings from Fat Jack's.

I still stand by my hypothesis that the leak of the Chinese Virus-19 was not a sinister campaign. It was more likely the night janitor emptying the trash and when he had to follow the detailed procedures to properly dispose of the dead Covid rabbits or bats or whatever animal was infected, tested, and then died.

It was a lot of extra work to properly dispose of them properly, and since it was OhDarkThirty and nobody was around, he just dumped the freshly-killed animals into a plastic bag and dumped them into the regular garbage bin.
The next day, the Wuhan bums, searching for that day's breakfast, found the carcasses and shouted the Chinese version of "Yahoo!" and dined like kings.
Remembering a story from early 2020, the Chinese Virus started close to the Lab, and then reports of more infections like waves outward in the days that followed.
Never assume some complex scheme, when human laziness and incompetence can be a realistic option.

Lots of wind and power outages in Pugetropolis today. My power was out for 7 hours. A tree a few blocks away snapped a few feet above ground level and took out a lot of power lines as it closed a main road.
Instead of farting around on the keyboard, I actually got some stuff accomplished. Yeah, nobody more surprised than me.

i have friends and really family that love them some CA. I bite my tongue so hard. I lived there when it was "Republican" and still there were major problems, the schools were the biggest problem. Anyway, we had issues with CA back in the 70s, even though there are were some amazing things about the place. To love it now boggles the mind inmo. And it is not just CA, a lot of places i used to care for are no go areas now.

When people ask me where I want to live, I used to say San Diego on the early 70s. Today I only want to be the deep Red Country, with country surrounding the country i live in. But I know San Diego in the 70s was a very nice place to live.

476 Well there wasn't much vino. But I did have some nice strong black licorice (after). And moved some pix around so i can access at work. They are family pix and i always get stoked on doing geneaology work. I am very lucky in that I had some ancestors who cared about preserving things very much, so I have photos back to the beginning of photography. On my mom's side I can go back pretty far. That's not the important part though, the important part is I have pieces of some of them, items and stories that still exist. Nobody gets to tell me that I or my ancestors don't matter. (That is directed outward, not to those here).

i agree with this. I don't follow California politics these days and have not done so for ages. I didn't like the statism of the 70s. The public schools sucked, even in "fancy areas". If Trump spent the rest of his political capital turning CA, it would be a battle well fought and well worth it. He turned other places that no one ever thought would go Repub. I've mentioned a LBH documentary site here previously called CusterApolo. The guy spent a lot time going out to Montana to film his videos. He lays out the battle in short segments starting the night before the battle until General Terry's column arrived to lift the siege of Reno & Benteen.

Besides growing up relative close to the battle and spending time there, one of my dad's cousins was part of a national group that studied the battle. He came out to meet often over the years and I learned a lot more about what might have happened. The CusterApollo guy's info dovetails nicely with what I've learned.

If you are interested in setting aside some time for the videos it will be worth it. Warning, there are over 30. Here is his site.

To me there is nothing like Getttysburg. When a park has history books written about it, not about the battle, but the history of the park itself, let's just say, it is important. Even a quick check will show they are nothing like Gettysburg. But that is not entirely a good thing. If people go, that is good, if they eschew other locales, that is very bad.

516 Antietam is another major battlefield park that is very well preserved. Just like in the Civil War, if your battle was near DC, it would be considered more important and more likely to be preserved.
I loved visiting Vicksburg as a kid. I was a kid so it didn't take much to impress me. But that is a site that should be seen.

The Alamo is a place that has always been hallowed to me. Even walking into that place, you could hear a pin drop. I was reminded by that when visiting Westminster Abbey decades ago. My concern is The Alamo will be "re imagined" And even if I am wrong and a doom sayer, many are trying to do just that.

Negativity aside, I will give my own recco for a place that doesn't get near enough visits. The D Day Memorial at Bedford VA. If you go there, there is zero chance you will be disappointed. They are mostly all volunteers and they know their crap. The site is beautiful and the history is stark. I have never known a single person to visit the place and not sing its praises. Not sure what is going on under Covid and the radial Dems that run VA

The history of Japan post ww2 is very unique I believe. I recall in the tv show MASH that a lot of Korean War troops spent their R and R in Japan. An enemy what, a decade ago?
My dad got shot in Vietnam and spent a long time recovering in Japan. He also served in Japan on many occasions after the war. Normally I'm good with a spice level of 7 or 8 out of 10, but at an Indian place I probably wouldn't go over 3 or 4.

yeah no one doesn't like it if it is made well. The key is making it well. They mostly use boneless chicken and most people screw that up. My first suggestion was Rogan Josh. I think it comes from the Kashmir. If well made it is spiced but not hot. If made poorly you get a bunch of overcooked lamb balls in some white sauce. The key is making it well. funny how that is with really any cuisine. The problem is most in the business don't give a shit.
Chicken Tikka Masala comes from the UK. It is good, if not people would not order it. But that is just a good first step for liking Indian food.

try Rogan Josh. It is lamb in a cream sauce. If you can't stomach that, then don't go for it. But it is great with naan or rice. The thing is, it can't be properly made and spicy hot. I used to tell them to give me the real shit, not the gringo stuff. But the dish is not high heat spicy. Sure there are lots of various spices, but not much heat.
