While at a ribbon-cutting in northwest Atlanta on Wednesday morning, four people hopped into councilman Antonio Brown's car and took off
Police said around 11:45am Brown got out of his car and the thieves tried to take it
Brown held on and was dragged for a block before he let go
Brown says the thieves appear to be children from 7 to 11 years old
He claims it took 45 minutes for police to arrive because it was assigned as a low-priority dispatch

Two hilarious things: 1, this motherfucker actually called the cops, and 2, the cops decided to... take their own sweet time in responding.

The incident happened as Atlanta deals with a crime surge, with murders up 59 percent and car thefts up 25 percent from a year ago, as of May 22. There have been 54 murders in Atlanta compared to 34 at this time in 2020, as well as 284 shootings, up 46 percent from a year ago.

Not quite. "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang came out at least a couple of years before "Rapture", and that was a big hit as well.

Regarding Harry's attractiveness, I'm trying to remember if there were many female-fronted bands at the time she came out. Fleetwood Mac, of course, had Nicks and McVie, but I think that Harry stood out at the time. The GoGos, which came out at around the same time, had a similar appeal.

348 Early 90s, I was in a mailing list on Queensryche. As bands go, QR seemed to be closer to conservative than most other bands, which is probably why their fan-base tended to be quite a bit more conservative.

It was kind of funny reading people writing "And then Tate goes off into his lib shit....".

Again, one of their main hits was about crime and how underfunded law enforcement was, which Tate does a whole monologue in the bridge about.

It will be on-patent and probably cost some ridiculous amount. They say it will be for "mild to moderate" Covid infection.

Probably because Mann got all the attention. No one knows Joe Pesce's name. Though he's a riot in Goodfellas.

Interesting one of the other roadies went to the keyboard on stage as we were setting up and played the notes from Close Encounters. Ten minutes later we heard it again. No one was at the keyboard. And then again. Turns out the keyboard had repeating playback which was innovative at the time. Then the professional roadies told us the whole band was "programmed" - the drum machine was the trigger to begin a song. Once the drummer hit the pads the first time the song played automatically. Didn't matter what drums he hit, or what keys the keyboardist hit. Unknown whether Mann's guitar was recorded.

After reading it, it seems to say (and I might be misreading it) that the antibody tests will tell you if you had CCP Lung Flu, but not if you have antibodies. Also, if you were injected, the antibody test may or may not tell you if you have antibodies.

In other words, "get the vax to get antibodies, but there is no test out there that can tell if the vax is giving you antibodies, got it? And even if you got the CCP Lung flu and got over it, you probably don't have antibodies."

Thus, the GOPe resolutely refuses to actually do the work on mobilizing minorities in urban areas and recruit candidates because it might cost them in statewide races because of ticket splitting. So, the Dems more or less get to run their political safe districts in perpetuity. In addition, the GOPe corporatists are most often represented in urban districts as real estate developers and landlords who are the face of capitalism in the cities.

DeSantis, in Fla, won in part by his marginal increase in votes by minority mothers that liked his strong support of school choice and charter schools. Jack Kemp, won similarly in a depressed urban district, by emphasizing economic hope. The tinder is there for a rejuvenation of the American state, it just needs the proper leader to come forward which is not a GOPe apparatchik

This is not saying that Lenin would not have liked to play the part that Stalin did but the state and the capability was simply not there. It is also fair to note that the work camps for political prisoners and criminals were created by the czar so Lenin took what was already there and adapted it to his needs, the same as the secret police.
