23 Ah Texas. I wish I'd had enough money for the move I had to make when the company I worked for closed.

I could only afford somewhere within about 250 miles or so. This was so I could move my stuff with my pickup. And I certainly couldn't have afforded a move to Texas.

And maybe this is sour grapes but all the property in my price range were very dry and dusty. And further exploration showed the tax scheme in Texas isn't as beneficial for seniors as it is in PA.

I surely hope I won't have to move. The State is conservative but it's overruled by the urban areas and all the aggro and money drain that they are. Plus they cheat on elections altho they went to far this time and I believe PA folks and legislators are fired up about fixing the election system.

Even after the debacle of 2020 we still had problems in the primary this week. But this is to the good as it takes time to fix stuff and we want to be ready for at least 2024 if not 2022.

Just need to get rid of the Philly Lawyer in Harrisburg and kick the GOP party asses to run a decent candidate instead of some good ol' boy who'll take orders. This may happen too.

66 Howdy Hordelings! Appreciate you bringing us another mighty fine ONT, Weird Dave!

Younger of the 2 Sons of Doof has a role in his high school's theater production this weekend. It's a musical about a spelling bee (25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). Had never heard of it so had no idea what to expect. It was really funny!

Two things that made me think of this here HQ occurred during the show.
First - one of the words someone had to spell was CAPYBARA.
Second - while using a word in a sentence, the quizzer (played by my son) made a Jew joke. Something about the waiter at the Last Supper -- looked at the tip left behind and shook his head saying "Jews!".

Hell yeah! Great ice cream there. First place I ever had mozzarella sticks. They served it with ranch dressing. I still prefer that to marinara. That was also the first place I had a vanilla Coke -- as in Coke with vanilla syrup added to it. That place had a nice side room that was great for large gatherings.

There was an arcade next door, if I recall correctly??

105 And further exploration showed the tax scheme in Texas isn't as beneficial for seniors as it is in PA.

163 "still soggy here. Can't plant anything. I has the sadz."

I got my soybeans in ten days ago, a tiny bit wet, but they are popping up (130 GDD to emergence). We got 4.5" since planting, and that can be an issue. Rain beats down on the ground, compacts it some, over the germinated seed. ... always a challenge in spring .. too early is cold, rains come -- don't want to plant too wet, but if wait too long, it gets hot and dry, and late planting is less time for plant to develop for max yield.

Another big factor is "canopy". The chemicals stop weeds for a few weeks while crop "canopies" and weeds that emerge after canopy can't get enough sun to be a problem. Still, weeds grow so fast, a second spray (or third) is usually necessary, but some new chemicals allow just one initial spray to last the season.

I really hate that airplane "factoid." I hated it when I first heard it maybe 30 years ago, and ever since I have been trying to get confirmation or proof that it is bullshit and have come up empty.

It presumes that all everyone except some egghead mathematician was too stupid to understand that fuel tanks, hydraulic lines, pilots, etc. were vital to protect and that the planes which made it back were ones were un-vital things got hit. I don't believe it. I think some egghead came up with it as a theoretical example to show the logic, and since it is taken as another example of why everyone who came before us (even the guys who won WWII) were dumber than us.

Eh, people get tunnel vision about stuff. And sometimes people can be dumb. But Wald is a real person. And he was part of a group that was looking into the survivability of bombers. So there's probably some bullshit in the story about what the military wanted to do, but what he did is probably entirely relevant in identifying where to armor.

Yes, I know that is what everyone says, but my point is that the problem of survivor bias would have been obvious at first look. Now, maybe some egghead had the bright idea of doing a statistical survey of all damage to returning planes, and later realized his folly, but if they spoke to a pilot he would have explained it without having to have some egghead tell him any of this.

I was just reading. The CDC is fudging the numbers again, this time to greatly reduce the number of breakthrough infections amongst the vaccinated.

Before, they were ramping up the number of Covid cases. It has to do the the cycle count of the PCR test. They've lowered the cycle count for the vaccinated. So if you are asymptomatic, or only have mild symptoms, you won't count as a breakthrough infection.

The larger cycle counts are still be used for the unvaccinated.

The CDC is a bunch of lying pieces of shit.

Most honest portrayal was in The Walking Dead where they had all either died or abandoned their post at the zombie outbreak as they were powerless to figure it out and freaked. And the one survivor in suicide takes out the building, supposedly to keep the other diseases there from leaking but given he knows that everyone is already infected with the zombie virus and choses to stay in the explosion it is not unlikely he just gave up.

Here's some more sober numbers. The Covid thing will be about 1/20th the impact of the Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918. Those PCR cycle counts, if using the CDC's new threshold for breakthrough infections would not even allow Covid to count as a pandemic.

Second, at let this sink in. 2017 was a worse year for excess mortality in the US than 2020, the Covid pandemic year. Now, when you figure in the age of those excess deaths, which were younger, you find that 2020 Covid's lost only about 1/3 of the life-years as 2017.

2017 was suicides and opioid ODs and shit like that.

Let that sink in. 2017 was 3 times as worse for excess deaths than Covid.

The claim that these vaccines are "safe and effective" is bullshit. There is not enough data nor research done for anyone to honestly make that claim. It's all fueled by panic and hysteria. Best case is this was an accidental release of a largely hollowed out gain of function vector by "Chinese professionalism" enabled by idiot democrat policy and our political class is REALLY that dumb to hand China a defacto strategic victory economically.

Medium case scenario is this was a test run by the Chinese to see what they can get away with for future use and they found out there is a lot of gain economics warfare wise to minimal risk of reciprocity.

Worst case is the whole thing is an engineered attack by non governmental people with the goal to eliminate 95% of mankind and every level of this sh*t cake is geared towards that goal and there will be constant releases over the next 9-51 years.

The worst case is unlikely but not impossible, I think the best case is a dream, and the medium case probably involves portions of our political class being defacto Chinese agents.

If you happen to have some MD browbeating you to get it (and that is going to increase) he may tell you how wonderful medical science is, and how great Pharma is (don't you trust me?). He's one little example.

Vioxx. COX-2 specific inhibitor NSAID. It was approved for use, and declared safe and effective. Vioxx went through much more clinical trials and took a longer time than these emergency Covid vaccines.

They pulled it off the market after 5 years. Vioxx killed about 1.5%, 60K, of the 4M Americans who were taking it. Heart attack risks. About twice that number had heart attacks but didn't die due to Vioxx.

You can look up any more numbers of oopsies.

My rule of thumb is to wait a minimum of 5 years, maybe better 10 years, before taking any new treatment.

Instead, they do whatever their professional organizations or pharmaceutical salesmen tell them to do. You would think they would set aside some time to read up on actual studies.

346 The claim that these vaccines are "safe and effective" is bullshit.
There is not enough data nor research done for anyone to honestly make
that claim. It's all fueled by panic and hysteria. Anyone who repeats
that is either a lying sack of shit, or just mindlessly parroting what
lying sacks of shit have told him, which he accepts at face value.
------------
Oh, I don't know about panic and hysteria. I'd take a chance of dying any day getting the shot rather than giving it to anyone in my family. Got a flu shot at a Walgreens a few years ago and I could feel flu coming on before I hit the parking lot. Had some light symptoms from the 2nd Pfizer which were less than the flu shot. Bigger worry for me were blot clots because I have 5 stents (see if you can beat my brothers to them at $10,000 each). All good 3 days out.

Pirate lawyers love big pharma for a reason. Any doc who says any drug is "safe" is lying. Ask them for a specific risk level and then ask them what they are basing their assessment on. You will rarely get a specific answer.

349 I represented pharma companies in products cases for a decade. The prescribing doctors always get deposed in those cases. It became clear pretty quickly that doctors vary in quality quite a bit. Many prescribe drugs without really doing much in the way of research or making any kind of risk-benefit assessment. Their understanding of drug labels (when they have read them) can be peculiar to say the least.

The vaccines have not been test in those with autoimmune diseases.

In fact, and this is another infuriating things. If one did not know better, one might conclude these rapid, wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am short term clinical trials they have conducted were designed to exclude just about anyone who might have a problem with the vaccine, and thus derail the process.

Look that up. They excluded a shit ton of people from the trials. Including pregnant women, or women of childbearing who didn't swear to ensure they didn't become pregnant during the trials or some time thereafter.

They now recommend it for pregnant women, despite no testing, BTW. The is the first time in history than any vaccine other than a dead virus vaccine has ever been approved for pregnant women. Well, this is not approved. Just "emergency authorized", with all the authorities recommending it.

The "official" recommendation is that the shots are perfectly safe for everyone, no matter their age, medical condition, or pregnancy status.

But, as I mentioned above, I have friends and relatives whose autoimmune conditions worsened after the shots. And doctors who pay attention to the actual effects of the shots are cautioning that it has a weird effect on the immune system and may not be safe for people with autoimmune diseases.

- Cops lock you in an interrogation room for at least 12 hours. No bathroom breaks, no sleep, no contact with the outside world. They keep asking: "where did you REALLY get this money?? We just want to help you."

- You decide you've made a mistake, and try to rectify it by saying the correct thing: "I want a lawyer." Cops will let you contact one... after you've been sitting in your own urine and feces for over 18 hours.

- Cops call FBI who decide to levy Federal charges. Keep in mind, federal prosecutors almost *always* get either the pleas or verdicts they want. You go to jail and the money disappears.

Re the booster shots. This is interesting.

First. mRNA vaccine. This encapsulates a bit of RNA into a little package that can evade your bodies natural defenses, which would break such shit down before it could do anything, and gets inside some of your cells.

Therein, said RNA hijacks your ribosomes in those certain cells to make copies of the Covid virus spike protein. That is, the vaccine makes certain cells inside your body produce a foreign protein. And a foreign protein that will provoke an immune reaction from your body.

This is sort of the definition of automimmunity. Your immune system attacks shit from your own body. Your own body was hijacked by the vaccine to make it. Such has never been approved before for use in humans, keep that in mind.

That process is the basis for the autoimmune concerns with the vaccine.

So how does it work. By hijacking your cells to make the spike protein, your immune system develops antibodies to the spike protein, and this can fight off the real coronavirus if it attacks you. Yay! That's the hope of the process.

Fun facts we've learned. The spike protein itself is pathogenic. This has been demonstrated in animal and human cell cultures -- I've seen reference to several studies showing that. In particular, it can evoke and strong inflammatory response in endothelial cells, such as those that line your blood vessels and airways and such. Some people can be very sensitive to that.

This is likely the mechanism of the blood clots (and strokes and worse) "associated" with the vaccine. A study out in just the last couple of days proved this spike protein was in the bloodstream of around 20% of those who took the vaccine.

The CDC and NIH and Pharma said before this wouldn't happen. The spike protein would just stay on those cells, and not get in the bloodstream.

Now, ADE. Antibody Disease Enhancement. Now terms out the antibodies produced when the vaccine hijacks your cells to make the foreign 'Rona spike protein have a curious property. The majority of those are "binding", not "neutralizing" antibodies. The latter actually neutralize the pathogen. The former just bind to it, but don't stop it.

In the natural immune learning process, think of the binding antibodies as near-misses, quality control problems with the immune system trying to fight the pathogen.

This means the dose of the mRNA vaccines must be high enough to get enough neutralizing antibodies produced, at the expense of a shit-ton of binding ones. The antibody response levels of the vaccines are much higher than a natural infection. This is odd. No vaccine dose has ever done this before.

And the reason is now known. That insanely high binding ratio.

Oh, binding antibodies are known to make diseases worse, *enhancing* the ability of the pathogen to attack your body.

420

Now, suppose the antibody response wanes with time. As it wanes, the level of neutralizing antibodies will get too low. And only binding types would remain, meaning if you had a breakthrough Covid infection, it might be worse than if you weren't vaccinated.

So, need to get a booster to drive those neutralizing antibodies up again.

This is the kind of shit that requires time and research (and honesty) to figure out. None of which are present in the hell-for-leather development of these vaccines.

427 So, need to get a booster to drive those neutralizing antibodies up again.

This is the kind of shit that requires time and research (and honesty) to figure out. None of which are present in the hell-for-leather development of these vaccines.
Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion of a Poperin Pear at May 22, 2021 12:49 AM (Mzdiz)

Except, that flies in the face of standard theory of getting vaccines.

once you get it, your body learns how to defeat it, you don't need a 'booster shot'.

428 And the reason is now known. That insanely high binding ratio.

Oh, binding antibodies are known to make diseases worse, *enhancing* the ability of the pathogen to attack your body.

Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion of a Poperin Pear at May 22, 2021 12:46 AM (Mzdiz)

And worse.. you only have so much of an immune system. If it is 'highjacked' to fight an non existent Covid 19, it is NOT fighting other things... like... oh... CANCER.

Louise Attaque
Dixie Dregs

The Dregs had a short-term keyboardist in 1994 named Jordan Rudess.

A few years later, he joined..... Dream Theater.

Small world.

Many vaccines do require boosters. The immune response to some wanes over time, requiring re-vaccination or the booster. It others, one application results in lifetime immunity. The reasons for this are well from understood.

At the start of this mess, I remember reading some stuff on why producing vaccines for coronaviruses like this are hard. There has never been one before. They launched a crash program to create one for this Covid-19 shit.

And as everything I'm reading is confirming, this has been reckless. There has not been anywhere enough testing, research, etc, to know just what the hell we've got here.

I'll pass. For the foreseeable future.

435 343 Question I found asked at FB:

"You've found a suitcase containing $750k in cash, in $100 bills, in the brush next to a highway. You can tell that it's been there for at least a year. How would you integrate this money into your life without raising red flags?"

(One person responded: they'd turn it in to the FBI and claim it after no one else does. Bad idea IMHO. The FBI, from what we now know of them, would just arrest you and steal it.)
