Obama Suggests There May Very Well be Alien UFOs

Wish Trump would weigh in on this. He could pay-per-view it, make a fortune.

This isn't really new. It's just that it's a former president saying it.

"When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can't tell you on air," Obama joked before answering the question.
“But what is true -- and I'm actually being serious here -- is that there's footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are," Obama said.

"We can't explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern," he said.

I think this idiot is getting things garbled as usual. It's not about their "patterns." It's about these presumed objects' apparent ability to violate conservation of momentum but suddenly turning on a dime while flying, supposedly, at Mach 13.

"So I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is. But I have nothing to report to you today," he added.

Below, a new clip of a supposed UFO, which is claimed to be "transmedium," diving from the air into the water. We don't have vehicles like that because aircraft have to be very light (and fairly fragile as a result) and submersibles must be very rugged (and heavy as a result). And to crash from the air into the water without breaking -- well, the vehicle would have to be very strong indeed.

But then how can it fly? What can be that strong and yet also that light?

Or maybe it's not light, as this guy speculates. The propulsion system might be so powerful that it wouldn't matter how heavy the thing was. He starts talking about the sci-fi staple of reactionless drives -- drives where you don't have to spit stuff out of your rear end to propel you -- and "grav" engines, creating propulsion by manipulating the force of gravity.

Obviously this is all sci-fi stuff. If this exists at all, it's impossible to believe the Russians or Chinese perfected this stuff. (And perfected it 60 years ago, because UFOs have been spotted flying at ludicrous speeds and making impossible turns since the 50s.)

So that means, necessarily... Aliens.

But but but -- if it's aliens, exactly how long do they need to probe the earth before they can update their encyclopedias and go home?

On the other hand... I have no explanations for any of this.

Except: It's aliens.

40 I live just north of Sacramento almost directly beneath the commercial corridor for flights going north to Seattle. One time I was walking from a friends house to my car on the street when I was lashed across the head and shoulders by something.. odd. Of course my first reflex is to touch my head - The hand comes back with grey-green goop on it. Yeah. The pilot jettisoned the chem toilet tank on me.
I have seen one strangely shaped aircraft flying super fast and do one of those right angle turn things. I figured it was a flight out of Beale AFB.

I am beginning to think a Disclosure event is actually unfolding. The UFO nuts have long held that are two factions in the govt. What would be the purpose of expending the amount of energy and resources necessary from many light-years away? But then again, if it's aliens, their motivations may be completely unlike anything we would expect.

But on the other other hand, if it's not aliens, it would have to be people, wouldn't it? And if it's people, that at least would give some rational basis for why they'd be hanging around on our planet like this, not doing anything in particular that we can tell, except making their presence known at times. Especially around our nuclear sites and vessels. Which, given the level of technology they have, why would they be so interested in stuff propelled by nuclear fission? They would have had that mastered long ago and wouldn't have much to learn by observing us. So clearly, if it's people, it's not people from any country of which we are aware. They would have to be hiding somewhere, like in cities on the ocean floor, or something. And then if it's fellow people, why would they let us suffer with maladies they would have long ago conquered?

personal aircraft of their own.

Prior to that aliens tended to be expressed as monsters, as they

There was a LOT of crossover from my husband's career field into sci-fi. Annotated Tom Clancy books were a staple of the breakroom. Picture a bunch of geeks at a Star Trek convention, only incredibly more unstable.

299 Saw one. At first I thought a light moving at very fast speed was a meteor. But it stopped, circled and immediately resumed its previous excessively fast speed. Discussed with my astrophysics friend who has done UAP research and he indicated that indeed it was a UFO and that they are extraterrestrial. We will know more in June. Likely will make contact in a few years.

300 Stories of UFOs have existed for over a milennia. Even back in the Middle Ages people were talking about the weird guys with their flying boat whose anchor got caught on the church steeple (an actual claim from one reported incident, btw).
Nothing new here.
I'm skeptical why extra-terrestrial intelligences would need to enter our atmosphere. Our visual sensors are good enough to spot a lot candle on the moon. Intelligences that can travel to other solar systems in a reasonable amount of time should have technology sufficiently advanced to avoid getting noticed.

What destroys the credibility is every culture "sees" UFO/Aliens differently. Much of it tied to popular culture at the time. That sort of changed when the "grey" alien became the "true" one in the 1990's.

Before that, it was all over the place (giants, blonde hair, blue eyes, elves, etc) and the craft was obviously not something that was plausible for space travel.

309 Okay, first, what's happening in the video is not what people are describing is happening. The round object descends from the sky until it is roughly in line between the camera and the horizon line. The camera is some distance above the water. The round object does not move away from the camera because it does not get smaller. Then - without moving up or down - it very suddenly disappears, then a second or two later reappears, then another second or so later disappears again. It is still in line between the camera and the horizon line the whole time.

This is not "diving" into the water. Given that the camera is some distance above the water, basic triangle geometry says the round object is also fairly high up. The visible waves are not high enough to have suddenly engulfed it. It does not move suddenly downward - when it momentarily reappears it is still at the same height. "Diving" is not what happened here. I also see no evidence in the video for a splash, although eyewitness observation may have seen things more clearly than the camera did.

Observation is out; even present-day human tech is good enough to watch something like a warship without being blatantly obvious about it. The object isn't doing anything with the warship. It isn't doing anything with the immediate physical context of the warship. Therefore IF the behavior is purposeful, the purpose of the behavior, and of the behavior being permitted to be observed, must be precisely that: to BE observed.

312 The "Trans-Medium" UFO is just a thermal camera picture of an airplane flying over the horizon. It's taken at extreme magnification, of an object very far away. The Earth is round, it's simple to understand that even something flying at higher altitude will eventually drop behind the horizon if it flies far enough.

The "shape" of the craft is exactly what you see watching an airplane on thermal cameras - you don't really see the aircraft, just the exhaust and engine heat, so it ends up looking like a flying oval.

313 The one flying "fast" with the water behind it, when you do the math based on the altitude of the plane, speed of the plane, range to target, and altitude of the target, given the FOV of the camera, it's trivial to calculate that the "target" is about 2.5 feet long.

You can frigging see the wings flapping in the video.

It looks like t's traveling fast because the plane taking the footage is traveling fast, at about 20,000 feet. The bird is at about 8,000 feet, so the speed of the plane makes the water go by fast, but the bird isn't flying fast. TL

314 The "White tylenol" thing flying above the clouds looks exactly like an airplane would look on thermal. A guy did an analysis on it, and it's traveling at a constant speed of about what a commercial airliner would travel at. When it "darts" off screen at the end, it's just the camera that's tracking it running out of range of motion so it's tracking gimbal stops. The plane continues at exactly the same speed out of frame that it was traveling the while time, it's just that the camera stopped panning so it looks like it darted out of frame.

All of these are very easily explained and are not technology outside of exactly what you'd expect to see with current human achievements. There's nothing here that is even remotely remarkable.
