Posted by: Aetius451AD at May 03, 2021 08:27 AM (lmikk) 10
This would look great in my dining room, but something seems ... off about it. Too green, maybe. But there's also no direct sunlight, so the green of the surrounding landscape would permeate the mist. But it looks borderline surreal. If there's little enough light to make everything that green, there'd be little detail. With that much detail, there should be more light and therefore better color definition.
It's a little bit weird. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at May 03, 2021 08:28 AM (Jsjd7) 11

Posted by: DB- just DB at May 03, 2021 08:37 AM (iTXRQ) That's harsh. But it seems the market has so many of them, the values aren't that high, if you can find someone with an original willing to part with one. In the rare cases that you do manage to find an authentic Bob Ross painting, Joan Kowalski, president of Bob Ross Inc., expects it to sell for at least $8,000 to $10,000. Yeah. Light blue and red. Almost all cars are gray, blue, red or black now. White cars aren't too common, either, but it isn't premium.
I got my car 12 years ago when light blue just re-entered the scene. At the time there was also a sage green model available and I think escapes were being sold in lime green. It's not terrible, compared to a lot of what passes for art.
It has a very Northwest feel to it, or maybe Maine, but by someone who never spent any time in the forests and mountains here. While not an exact place and time, it has the appearance of someplace that could, look like that. The light is filtered through the forest and the low hanging clouds and fog/mist. >>The urgent, wartime effort by President Biden and his top advisers to get millions of vaccines in the arms of Americans has allowed the US to go from having one of the worst Covid responses in the world to being a global leader in vaccinations
ALL by not changing ANY of the Policies of the previous administration. Amazing trick, that one. Posted by: garrett at May 03, 2021 09:11 AM (g0Vv7) 221
The good thing about Ross is not the actual painting that comes from the exercise, but the techniques and practice at applying them. (Unlike those drunken hen-parties that produce a dozen identical acrylic shit-on-canvas "dolphin sunsets" that must look better after a few glasses of chardonnay than they do a week later.)

Initial distribution was limited because supplies were limited. We're +6 months from initial release now and production has ramped up to where it is feasible to widely distribute it. More than infrastructure, time was likely the biggest factor (and the infrastructure and system was present - Trump put it into place). CNN is counting on an absence of logic and skepticism. They, like everyone who depends on that absence, will not be disappointed. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at May 03, 2021 09:12 AM (Jsjd7) 223

Morning, Horde.
10 This would look great in my dining room, but something seems ... off about it. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at May 03, 2021 08:28 AM (Jsjd7) Water spray is white. Look at photos of dam failures. Spray from muddy water is white. January 6. The original Wildprotest.com site is long gone and all traces of it are gone from the internet. It is not in the wayback machine. It is just gone.
But that was the original plan. 130 pm at the Capitol. On the SCOTUS side of the capitol. This protest did not happen. It was overridden by two other events - one on the afternoon of the 5th, and then another the morning of the 6th on the Mall between the Washingotn monument and the White House. This is the one that President Trump spoke to. There was planned direct action that occurred that day. There were definitely agent provocateurs from antifa, and also likely some from what is nominally the right but certainly not Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, or III Percenters. Guys like that never pay a price, either. They ruin lives and destroy and walk away without penalty. Judges make horrendous decisions, prosecutors lie and cheat, no price to be paid. I just started and the second episode where people build credits on the exercise bikes and try out for 'Top Star' seems like the perfect analogy for conservative pundits. 99 I sometimes think 'kitsch' is used by modern art dudes to say 'Representational'. Not the way I use the word, but these people would look at the David and say it is too traditional.
Well, yeah. They all went to art college and pose for each other and believe the purpose of art is to be "shocking". So puking in a paper bag and putting it on a pedestal is GENiUS, and actually having art skills that allow you to create a representation is as lame as Grandpa playing Home on the Range on his little keyboard in retirement.
