They Can't Help Themselves: Even In A Study Critical Of The Left's Explicit Racial Divisions, They Assume Racial Equality Is Not A Right-Wing Philosophy

In this mildly interesting article about a pretty obvious reaction to the Left's use of racial division and racial messaging, there is a deeply offensive sentence that encapsulates the lazy and ignorant attitude in the academy and American intelligentsia about the political philosophy of their opponents on the right.

'Anti-racist' messages and policies hurt Democrats: Yale study

They found that "despite leftward shifts in public attitudes towards issues of racial equality, racial framing decreases support for race-neutral progressive policies".

So the shift in racial attitudes from a slave-owning society -- that was actively protected by the Democrat party -- to a much more egalitarian one that was essentially race-blind by the beginning of the 21st century is a left-wing philosophy? That's offensive nonsense. It is exactly the leftward drift of our political representatives in the highest reaches of government that has created the obsessive focus on race, effectively reversing generations of progress and creating the conditions for what can only be described as a race war.

And the laughably illogical last sentence may be even more disgusting. Focusing on race is exactly the opposite of race-neutral policies, which are absolutely not "progressive." It is the progressive mantra to create divisions, and what better division can there be for their purposes than race?

A truly race-neutral America would have one race: American. That is the goal for most of us, and the Left is very aware how dangerous that would be for their future prospects.

Being a teenager in the 80's, we didn't have issues with race. Sure, there were areas of colors, other side of the tracks, ghettos, barrios.......but we call came together and played ball in the summers, gave rides to town and hung occasionally.

So when you see segregation returning at schools and colleges, it means segregation is going to be the default condition in most public functions in 5-10 years. No more moving the needle over a couple generations, just full steam ahead.

I feel sad for the mixed race kids. They'll be rare again soon enough, but there's fairly a lot of them in the last American generation. The best outcome for them is if the Left allows them to choose what race they identify as, and to undergo racial reeducation and denounce their whiteness and white relatives, and become fully "black" or "Latinx," or whatever. But I suspect it'll be a new iteration of the one-drop rule. And I expect the very light-skinned blacks like my daughter will be singled out for special vituperation and ridicule.

I've worked all over the country with all races and ethnicities. The majority of them, my peers; And by that, I mean people near my age and experience, don't really give a shit about race. All they care about is can you do the job and are you easy to get along with.

In my supervisory experience, in 40 years, I've only been called a racist twice. Both times were by young punks, one Mexican and one half black kid who I admonished for poor work ethic and being cry babies. I told the Mexican kid I wasn't treating him differently because of his race, I was treating him differently because he was stupid. My black, muslim coworker whom I had worked with for several years, was laughing his ass off because he knew I was the least racist person he knew.

The half black kid overheard someone who worked for the client, say something about a "bad penny", and took it as a racial slur. I stepped in for the guy and got the person who said it to apologize, even though the comment was in a totally different context. Later, after moving on to a different job in a new town, I caught the guy standing around and got on him about it. He quit.

Every time I had an interaction with his parents, I was required to fill an electronic form though the discipline system. The "dear colleague " letter came out that year. Soon, an administrator told me not to waste time with the form; administration was deleting them to prevent a red-flag response because one young black kid was getting "disciplined" so much.

It didn't matter that the parents were glad to get him on track, that he actually liked me, or he earned a good grade. Just his skin color.

If he had been allowed to misbehave, he wouldn't have graduated. At best, he would have slept through his classes.

But you are right I am not being trite but being realistic. W. Europe is a tiny place. They need passports because if they want to go anywhere, it is a necessity. For example, to the Brits and many others, Spain is their Florida. in fact, it is cheaper to fly to Spain from London than it is to fly to FLA from most parts of the USA.

And a lot of the Brits act ten times worse than Spring Breakers when they go to Spain. Sad, but true.

I drove across country to my first faculty position, stopping in Little America, WY. There was absolutely nothing in any direction out to the horizon (30 miles or so).

It was kind of a Hunter S. Thompson experience. I sat at a counter that had two apparently local guys in flannel shirts, baseball caps, etc., and a Japanese guy next to me wearing a dinner jacket, cuff links, patent leather shoes, etc. He was the CEO of a startup, and had been at a formal occasion when he found out he had to drive a truck across country on an emergency basis to deliver the company's products to fulfill a contract.

That's where my appreciation of the mile marker system comes in. I just ask my wife the exit number and check it against the mile marker or next exit and that way I know how far I have to go.

I had a couple of German visitors whom I took to the central Californian coast. They were shocked that the whites werent filled with garbage. I asked them what gave them that idea. They said it was common knowledge in europe.

I told them it was dumb common knowledge. And that we take good care of our shores. That said, la has become a pit with trash everywhere. One of the blessings of immigration. Tucker was right.

239 I took a big loop camping trip from Chicago 90 west to Moab south and back east through Texas. It's so big out west I could feel it closing in by the time I hit Missouri, let alone Chicago. Plenty of beautiful places to see in America without going to Europe.

Drove through there on up to Tahoe one time. Gad, there's a lot of nothing. The bizarre thing to me, though, was when I started climbing up toward Tahoe and went through some high green mountain valleys that were ranch and farm land.
