11 Morning Horde. Per the last update I received last evening my 19yr old great nephew is still in the hospital with heart issues. Had his first MRI and it doesn't appear to be a viral issue. Has his second MRI this morning to check out the mass next to his heart. Waiting on the biopsy of a swollen lymph node and his Covid antibody test.
Yes, he had his second Covid vaccine shot this past Sunday and all of these issues started Tuesday. Could be coincidence but he had zero issues prior to the vaccine. I'm betting it's a reaction to the second round vaccine.

51 My wife's parents were from Arkansas and did pick cotton by hand as young children. Mechanization of that process is what drove them (their parents) out of Arkansas to Arizona. Her dad worked in copper mines until Reagan's amnesty put union miner's out of work. My great-grandparents grew and picked cotton near Belton, Texas and left that for much the same reasons. If you think about the public housing projects all over Texas east of the Balcones Escarpment, you begin to understand the impact of mechanized farming methods. No real point here other than technological changes have pretty serious consequences beyond just simple-minded garbage like the racist excuse for everything under the sun.

67 LOL. A Judge in Arizona agreed to a temporary stoppage of the Maricopa County vote audit late last night after democrats sued to stop the audit. He ordered a temporary halt from 5pm Friday through 8am Monday and ordered the democrats to put up a $1,000,000 bond to cover any extra expense the State would incur because of the delay.

The democrats refused to cover the bond and the audit is back on.

It is a point worth considering...maybe it's time we ask the R leaders just what, exactly, their official platform is. Because it certainly isn't anything that resembles small government conservatism. You're onto something when you say they aren't RINOs. This is the party, minus the very few outliers who hold traditional values. If they try to pass themselves off as anything else, then we either need to somehow overhaul the party or start a 3rd. One thing I know is they surely don't represent us.

The most recent disappearance was my one-eyed Ace. He went out at 6:30 and was gone when I went to call him in at 8:00. Not a sound. Just gone.
I'm done with cats. Will do the best I can to protect the last two but that's it. Adopting a small animal out here is a death sentence.

My mom has found a solution that seems to work for her. She is another 90 or so miles southwest from Ben Had, my excuse for attending the MoMe this year, and here is the makeup of her pack.
2 pyrenese ghost dogs
1 lab corgy mix
1 doberman
2 chihuahuas
9 or 10 cats, all outside

Here's how it works. The two ghost dogs guard and alert on gnat farts, the chihuahus are the intestinal fortitude, and the doberman and short lab kill anything not a cat. The dogs were all raised as puppies in the shed with kittens and adult cats so the cats are 'pack'. The cats don't stray beyound the nearest trees and come into the shed an hour before dusk. The dogs sleep in front of the pet door to the shed. They killed a coyote right outside it as recently as last week.

It's a perfect example of government at work. A bill to protect eagles also prevents you from shooting the woodpecker that is putting holes in your siding.

For the first, 4 or so years, every night a coyote pack came yipping and howling down our street after midnight.

In the intervening years, we've seen, even as the city grew deep around us - coyotes, a wolf, a wild boar, bobcats by the score, and once a cougar/mountain lion.

I love, meaning hate, that word - re-imagine. There was a black lady here running for judge. Her campaign literature made her seem reasonable. As I was undecided at that point, I dug a little deeper. I found one of her statements saying she wanted to 're-imagine justice'. I did not take that as a positive.
