Remember how they did this: In the 90s, they made up the fake weapon category of "assault weapons" to sound like "assault rifle" -- which is a real weapon category, consisting of military weapons capable of firing multiple shots per trigger pull (or single shots if selected) -- and scare the Karens into thinking these "assault weapons" are actually assault rifles.

As the years pass, the media increasingly mislabels sport rifles -- single shot sport rifles -- as "assault rifles," finishing the semantic coup.

Now they just state a falsehood without embarrassment. It's an "assault rifle" as we over the years have accustomed the public to (incorrectly) understand the term.

The Feds' Bogus Violent Extremists
There idea that there are Jihadi-like cells of domestic terrorists attempting a violent overthrow of the U.S. government is unproven propaganda.

In her first official act as Director of National Intelligence, Avril Haines issued a flashing red alert to the country. Jihadi-like Americans, especially those on the political Right, lurk among us and are plotting to commit vicious crimes such as kidnapping and assasinations.
These "US-based actors" allegedly will be moved to violence based on "narratives of fraud in the recent general election, the emboldening impact of the violent breach of the US Capitol, conditions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and conspiracy theories," the March 1, 2021 document claims.
Haines divides "domestic violent extremists," or DVEs, into three categories; a graphic of the U.S. Capitol building sits atop the category entitled "anti-government/anti-authority violent extremists." That particular brand of terrorist, according to the report, is driven by their "opposition to perceived economic, social, or racial hierarchies or perceived government overreach, negligence, or illegitimacy." (Perceived?)
The thin, three-page paper does little to substantiate her alarming assessment; it is short on proof but long on political usefulness for Democrats and the media, who continue to stoke fears about so-called domestic terrorists loyal to Donald Trump who orchestrated a "deadly insurrection" on January 6. (The word "unclassified" appeared on each page, as if to give the impression that a thick trove of "classified" material somewhere exists.)
A Politicized Intelligence Community
Haines, of course, takes her cues from the best in the business. As John Brennan's top deputy at the CIA during the Obama Administration, Haines learned intelligence can be weaponized to work against political enemies, Donald Trump in particular, with impunity. In fact, Haines' document conjures memories of Brennan's 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, issued just two weeks before Donald Trump was sworn-in as president, concluding Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election to help Trump win the White House, a claim that remains without evidence to this day.
But the DNI report is just the latest chapter in the narrative-building surrounding the events of January 6. From false accounts about the death of a Capitol Police officer and tales of an "armed insurrection" to the fortification of Washington, D.C., political protest is being criminalized in a way that sets an extremely dangerous precedent for the future.

I kinda *wish* this this was the answer, but I very much doubt it. The FBI has a long, rich history of identifying people on the cusp of radicalized crime sprees, grooming those individuals, cultivating them and helping them in order to bust it up and get a juice "counter-terrorism" action for the front pages. They also have a history of sometimes losing control of the loose cannon radicals that they directly enabled and often even funded. As the WAPO sheepishly reported yesterday, the FBI and DOJ may have made a few arrests, you know, prematurely, before they had any EVIDENCE of wrong doing...heh, mistakes were made...waddya gonna do?

They held people in jail without bail and when they had to present the evidence for these people being held to a judge...they had fucking NONE. What a disgrace.

My GMC W4500 tilt cab box truck was starting hard a few weeks back. I checked out the symptoms on YouTube videos, but didn't want to screw with it myself. I sent it to a local diesel repair shop to fix.

The guy said he would need to change the fuel filters before diagnosing the problem. I said sure, go ahead. He called back a few days later saying the injector pump was bad and it would be $4500 to fix it. He also whacked me $750 for putting in new filters. I told him to just park it out back and I would pick it up.

My regular mechanics went and picked it up (started it with a little starter fluid) and did nothing other than prime the fuel system properly. It runs like a top now. I called the diesel place and suggested that their "technician" pursue a different career - perhaps in the lawn mowing industry.

If my daughter (or son-in-law, for that matter) owned the truck and needed it fixed, they would have just relied on this idiot's evaluation and "fuck me in the ass" price. There ought to be a law.

Nope they did not because it was one of their guys, just like the fbi op in Grapevine TX for the shooting at the draw mohammed contest in 2015. They let the State and locals handle that after their two guys got wasted. Also, once someone's an adult, it's damn hard to get anything done. Maybe they should have red-flagged him. I don't know. But if you're thinking he should have been involuntarily committed, that's a very difficult thing to get done. The guy lived in my damn condo for a few months just weeks before his murders.

Laser cartridges are good, pistol and rifle, but no trigger reset so realistic training is restricted to either single shot presentation\slow fire, failure mode in real-time, or failure mode while moving. Also, 556 laser cartridge firing pin pads will fail after about 400 rounds. I've worn out four of them.

Regal just announced it's finally beginning to reopen next month with Godzilla vs. King Kong. AMC got a big cash infusion last month. There's a chance.

The big killer was that both New York and California were effectively closed for a year. That's beginning to change, so there is actually a chance that things will start turning around.
