Historic Failure George W. Bush, Who Ushered In Obama's Revolutionary Socialism Through His Fecklessness and Incompetence, Predicts That the GOP Will Return To Being a Corporate Shill Party

This mental deficient handles his cocaine use like he handles his war-fighting like he handles his peanut-swallowing.

Former President George W. Bush predicted a dim future for former President Donald Trump's political career in a taped interview broadcast Thursday, saying that "these populist movements begin to fritter over time."

Bush delivered remarks in a taped interview shown at the SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the 2020 election and the future of American democracy, USA Today reported.

Although out of office and banned from Twitter, Trump appears to have maintained influence over the GOP during the early days of the Biden administration. Trump won the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) straw poll by a wide margin, earning 55% of the votes while the second-place finisher, Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, came in at 21%.

So 76% of the party's stalwarts support either Trump or a Trumpian populist, DeSantis.

But yeah, George, we're going to go back to being The Party of Jeb!

Speaking about the Capitol riots, Bush said that he felt "sick to [his] stomach" as he watched the attack unfold. Bush described the rioters as "hostile forces” who, by storming the Capitol, made a direct attack against American democracy.

What a shock, this Kennebunkport liberal repeats the lines of his liberal media and liberal Deep State pals.

Opposing Kennebunkport "Konservatives" and voting to purge the Bush family out of public life is an Act of Love.

The amount of goodwill he could have built up with the black community on this one would have been immeasurable, yet he remained nearly silent on it after the results started coming in showing it to have been a success.

I don't even think that was it. I really think it A'ghan just turned in to a complete boondoggle but the "military industrial complex" (to borrow a term from the left) loved the crazy post-911 spending, and having a war was a great way to keep that coming.

And Iraq was about Saddam being an asshole, who, like Qaddafi, kept threatening the US petro dollar (by selling oil in peoples local currencies instead of USD), which made people in DC nervous. Iraq was kind of a "well, let's not let an opportunity go to waste. People are scared post-911, let's use that to our advantage" thing. The remaking those countries in to democracies in the Muslim world stuff was, I think, initially a PR thing that the military ran with and made a real thing, since they had no real mission in either country and had to come up with something to justify to themselves why they were there.

Our 'occupations' suck balls. The army has no doctrine about it, and can't do it. We should have no occupations of anywhere unless a new branch of service is made that can make it work. There was a poll from a European outfit in like 2007 or so that asked Muslims in various countries if they wanted to live under sharia law. Something like 97% of Afghans and 90% of Iraqis said they did.

So, fuck it. What the hell are we doing over there? Saddam was good at keeping the crazies in check, we cares if he was a shit head? And the Taliban definitely fucked up by letting bin laden train his people there, but did we really have to try to topple their government, spend 20 years occupying the country, only to leave and let the Taliban rise back to power? 108 > They're the biggest money laundering scheme in existence.

You've all noticed that Burny has stopped using his patented "millionaires and billionaires" tag line, right? That's because Burny himself is now a millionaire. He's been busy funneling campaign contributions into a "consulting firm" that's "owned" by his stepchildren. They all do it. That's the grift. You're not allowed to just pocket campaign funds, but you are allowed to spend them on "consulting". And who's to say your kids, or your cousin, or your family dog, can't start a "consulting company"?

That particular grift has been around for a long time, but the politicians have only recently gotten wise to it.

The classic example was TV preacher Oral Roberts, who was constantly begging for money to send "free Bibles" to people all over the world, and going on about how many millions it cost to have those "free Bibles" printed and mailed. He wasn't lying. They were in fact sending out free Bibles by the pallet load. What he DIDN'T mention was that the very-much-for-profit printer that had the contract to print and mail all those free Bibles was owned by...Oral Roberts.

Right, and that's why we are involved in so many wars. Massive contracts for bombs at a ludicrously inflated price goes to Lockheed, and gets funneled right back via bribes, donations, and jobs to the politicians and bureaucrats who vote for it / approve contracts. This is also why I get so annoyed when people say "America spends 10x on military compared to China" its like "yeah, in China, their leaders arent quite as brazen in their theft from the treasury as ours are. They can built the same bomb for probably 10% of what it costs us."

145 "I'm not a pacifist, but given current US methods about executing wars, I'm not going to carry any water for military action for a while. "

Executing wars and maintaining a defensive posture are two different things. One is political and the other is a military objective. The problem is that our force priorities are being undermined as is our fighting ethos.

I don't foresee another conflict in our future save Biden's apparent desire to face off against Russia in Syria. The fact we are being weakened on the world stage before our enemies always presents an opportunity for the political class to use our military as their prop. I worry about that every day. As I watch the outright incompetence.

I lived through September 11th and subsequently lost a lot of brothers in IRQ and AFG. Sometimes I wonder at night why. That's mostly because our battlefield strategy has been more political than military. Plus the civilians W place in countries like IRQ were complete incompetents who got people kill.

I guess that's a long way of saying I mostly agree.

170 > Other nations have done reasonably well - Rome, The British Empire.

Those countries had it down to a science. They relied heavily on auxiliaries from other conquered regions, so their own people didn't have to do the bleeding and engender the hatred of the locals.

1) Conquer say, Mexico and Canada.
2) Recruit Mexicans and Canada as auxiliaries
3) Use say, the Mexican auxiliaries to occupy, say, Iraq, with the tacit encouragement that they could oppress the shit out of the locals, squeeze them for every penny they could extract, and so on.

When the locals get too restive, act shocked that this stuff is going on, pull out the Mexicans, and replace them with Canadians. Lather, rinse, repeat.

The British used Scots to occupy Ireland, and various Indian groups to occupy other areas of India.

Beyond the fraud that is now too great to beat, the selection of candidates by the establishment, and the kneecapping of anyone who somehow sneaks in, it doesn't matter. Some group did a study on voting and public opinion. They found that neither affected the outcomes on gov't policy. It didn't matter who was elected or what the public wanted. Or

Would you prefer moving into the same place gradually through the Clinton's and Bush's, all while believing things like voting and the rule of law mattered in any way?

340 I mentioned earlier that the Biden family has a lot of resemblance to the Bush family. Both families have their grifters, their drug addicts, their covering up of misdeeds, affairs, etc. Getting sweetheart jobs from donors--GWB's stake in the Rangers for example just a couple of years after being a self admitted drunkard and perhaps an illegal substance abuser. The only difference is that that the Bush family has done it longer.

Poppy murdered Reagan's legacy and blew the Kuwait crisis, consistently said and did the wrong thing while the wall came down, and caved in the 1990 spending bill which ended his presidency despite the US armed forces magnificent performance in the Gulf War. He then promptly crapped on the Shiites and Kurds after that which caused problems years later.

Admission, I was a reagan democrat but never a bush family fan.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indianapolis man suspected of killing three adults and a child told police he fatally shot the four victims after he and his girlfriend argued because he wanted a share of her federal COVID-19 relief money, according to a court document and one of the girlfriend's relatives.

Malik Halfacre, 25, was being held Tuesday at the Marion County Jail on four preliminary counts of murder and one count each of attempted murder and robbery. He has not yet been formally charged in Saturday's shootings, which police have said occurred following a heated argument in a home where officers found the bodies of Anthony Johnson, 35, Dequan Moore, 23, Tomeeka Brown, 44, and 7-year-old Eve Moore. Halfacre's girlfriend was critically wounded.

I think Pence is given more of a bad rap than he deserves. To refer the selection of the electors back to the state legislatures there had to be 2 sets of electors sent in. I think that was the case in one, PA?, but you needed 3 or 4 states to change the stolen election.

That's the problem w/ Trump being an outsider in Rep circles. He needed the network to get the state legislators to do the right thing. I think the Rep establishment `wanted him to lose. F'ing traitors not only yo the party, but truly to the country.
