The consumer protection agency in Brazil’s São Paulo state has fined Apple $2 million for failing to include chargers within iPhone 12 boxes, according to 9to5 Mac. Procon-SP says Apple engaged in “misleading advertising, selling a device without the charger and unfair terms.” Apple announced in October that the iPhone 12 and would not come with chargers or earbuds in their boxes, citing environmental concerns. By only including a USB-C to Lightning cable with iPhone 12 and other new models, Apple said it would be able to reduce the raw materials for each iPhone it sells, in addition to reducing the size of the phones’ boxes. Critics suggested the change had more to do with allowing Apple to reduce shipping costs, and environmental experts said the impact on the environment would likely be minimal.

Street Speed 717 is a popular carnage channel similar to that of WhistlinDiesel. The channel is run by Michael Hyssong and you’ll find plenty of street racing, questionable car modifications and a surprising amount of vehicular destruction on his account. These shenanigans popped up on the radar of Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and it brought 18 criminal charges against Hyssong for the actions depicted in his videos:

Moon was great. My oldest son and I watched "Mama" this morning. It has a "meh" ending but whatever. It gave me an epiphany, though. I see a lot of great horror and suspense film these days, ie The Forest, Woman in Black. But it seems like noone can put a good ending on anything anymore. Anybody else notice that?
Also, I dont recomend sobriety in these dark days....

Oh well, at least something of a family evening together. Spouse did everything together in the Instant Pot, and while she's usually got a good handle on that appliance and the beef and carrots came out fine, the potatoes were just okay and the cabbage was quite inedible - imagine cabbage-flavored oatmeal.
I think she fed most of it to the dogs. Should be an interesting collection of odors tonight in the bedroom.

Yeah, one of my sisters was basically a Pez dispenser. And hers were typically of the 10 lb variety. It's a 45 minute drive from her house in the boonies to a small hospital in Soldotna, so if she felt a bit off she would go into town for dinner, just in case.

So supposedly James Cameron had been simultaneously making umpteen Avatar sequels at once, right?
Now, after enormous cost that probably was responsible for Fox's sale to Disney and after a Scamdemic and resulting lockdown that's crippled the movie theater business I'm wondering 1. Will we ever see these sequels no one seems to care for and if we do 2. What is the likelihood that they they fail so massively that Disney puts itself up for sale?

A nurse these days can pretty well write his or her own ticket. And if you are willing to work odd places, you can rake in the cash. An RN up here makes a ton of money and can pick and choose the job as well.

I and my family wish to thank whoever recommended the game "Blokus" the other night. I thought what the heck and bought it for laughs to take to my 29th birthday party tonight. The six and nine year old grand-kids cleaned our respective clocks, but a grand time was had by all. I was venting, and got advice because, well, venting invites advice. Most of it was sensible. Some was a tad nutty. People who have a lot more life experience than me are understandably jaded and world weary. Lord knows I'm usually a pretty bitter, pessimistic, gloomy fuck. I'm trying to for once be a tad more optimistic, but also just live more in the moment. One day at a time. The terlets here in the new house are low flow. But that can be easily overridden by the design. It's a 3.5 gal. tank with one of the those weighted flapper things. It will drop and shut off when the 1.5 gal or whatever is drawn down.
All you have to do, however, is just hold the handle down and you can empty the whole tank in one flush.
With a liquid load, I just use the low flow. With the others, I use the full tank.

I will say my uncle was once married to a woman who did fake having cancer. He'd drive her to chemo once a week or whatever, but she never wanted him in the room with her. And she was one of the lucky ones who never lost her hair. Eventually, he got suspicious, and followed her and she was walking out the back door of the hospital and going and getting lunch. Never had cancer. So it's not impossible, I suppose. But I think it takes a rare breed to lie about something like that, so I'd err on the side of believing her. Personally.

I did, however, take her up hillside for a romp in the deep snow today as a special treat, rather than just the usual three miles at the doggie park in town. So, there's that. I mean... the girl was a little heavier then she was in her online dating profile pictures. Which was fine. Still cute. But we had literally nothing in common, the conversation was so forced, and it just sucked. I felt bad, and didn't really know how to end the date without being a dick, because she was a nice girl, but she came up with some lame excuse and left at like 9 pm. We met up at around 8. I had maybe 2 drinks, she had half of one. Then I ubered to a bar my friends were at and had an okay time. It was just a huge bummer. On paper, she seemed awesome.
And again, I don't want to be mean, but it's hard to carry a conversation when you're barely getting one word answers out of the other person, and they show no interest in anything you try to say to save the conversation. I have rarely had a date THAT bad in my life. I don't understand why she even agreed to go out with me if she was that uninterested in even trying to talk to me. She spent half the night (well, hour or so) on her phone.

My experience with the virus itself "in the wild" so to speak.
Also, the whole "loss of smell and taste" - I never lost sense of smell and loss of taste for me meant things had an "off" taste. It lasted about 24 hours.
For me, not even in the top 5 worst colds I've experienced.

I like Harrison a lot, but he was exasperating to the other Beatles, George Martin, and the engineers. Harrison had a lot of problems coming up with guitar solos and Paul (especially) or John often stepped in to keep sessions moving along.

An easy tell is if she talks for 7 minutes straight, bouncing around different topics, and seldom takes a breath. At least that was my experience. Now mushrooms and other psychedelics were completely different. They would just stare, and sometimes laugh uncontrollably.
In either case, the more they drank really didn't make much of a difference.

Those are the terms used for the automatic drying control, vs the timed drying control. The Automatic cycles uses some sensors and combination of air temperature and air moisture to determine when to stop.
"More dry" means max that out, and "less dry" means leave more moisture in.

I went bar hopping with my Irish-American friends and family for many hours before I ran in to that chick. We got to the bars at 4:30, she hit me up at bar #3 at about 9 pm. I barely remember what she looks like, but I am assured by my group of friends/ family that she was hot.

Well... it wasn't exactly BEFORE any parts touched, but yeah. It was an unpleasant situation. I was paranoid for a while, but I paid for the STD + test with the herpes testing (most STD screens don't test for herpes since it's so common) and I was okay.
But yes, a bit of a heads up would have been nice.
Hilariously, she left, I jumped in the shower because I'm a germophobe, and I hear aggressive banging on my door, turns out she left her juul on my nightstand. The doorman told me she freaked out, screamed at him, ran upstairs, and 3 neighbors complained because someone was banging on their doors in the middle of the night.
So, maybe I take back my earlier statement -- that may have been a worse date in retrospect. At the time, it was kind of funny.

I was in a conversation today with a bro and a friend about this very topic. NFL was once a bulletproof money-maker, but going all Woke during the game, when average Joes and Janes are willing to spend hundreds of dollars to just forget their worries for a day and have some fun.
But NOOOOO!! Kneel, whitie! BLM, baby! The salary cap dropped for the first time ever by about 8%, and all kinds of good players are being cut. So the NFL is trying to force the networks to double their multi-billion dollar broadcast fees. Yet, game ratings are down over 20% from just 3 years ago, even more from 5 years ago.
IDK the answer, but I watched less NFL last year by far, and most others I know watched less, too.

Yep. The smart crooks will do it as a "one and done", and the victim usually feels he got off lightly, and won't pursue the crooks, if he even manages to figure out that it was a con from the get-go.
The dumb crooks turn it into onhoing blackmail, and eventually the victim may decide that some gunshots will settle the issue.

You need to maintain some semblance of dignity. If this was some sort of mutual agreement/arrangement between two consenting adults she would not have told him she was at another guys house.
Thats not respecting "the game" or arrangement.
