The New York City school's website details graduation ceremonies for Native, Asian, "Latinx" and Black students taking place for Columbia College, Columbia Engineering, General Studies and Barnard College at the end of April. Another dubbed "FLI Graduation" is for "first generation and/or low income community." The school also hosts a "Lavender" graduation for the "LGBTIAQ+ community."There are guardrails this country has erected to avoid racial strife. The Woke Left -- and their Ruling Class admirers -- are tearing them all down. We had a sometimes distressing, liberty-restricting regime. But we respected it, because it applied to everyone. Everyone was inconvenienced. But now the left is making it explicit: No, the liberty-restricting rules of what we call "civil rights" only apply to whites. Non-whites are allowed -- nay, encouraged; nay still, demanded -- to be as racist as possible. This will not end well. At some point, men, straights, and white people may also realize that they, too, might also like to congregate, from time to time, only with people similar to themselves. You know -- where they can't be judged, pressured, or "decentered" by people different from them. And we'll see what the universities -- and courts -- say about that. It'll be interesting when the Supreme Court announces, explicitly, that there are some races, sexes, and sexualities that can be affirmatively treated as second-class citizens. And that is coming. And I can't wait for it. I'm tired of the pretending. Make it explicit, Ruling Class. In the meantime, the left continues re-imposing Jim Crow one deadly brick at a time. If this country had a hard time imposing Jim Crow on a racial minority, wait till they try imposing it on a racial majority. Fun times ahead.

A lot of it starts out as shitlording for the lulz, but saying things as a joke is the first step to actually challenging a lot of these nutty ideas. Plus, a lot of them grew up seeing the wreckage that the boomers' ideas made of their parents' and older siblings' lives.
I like to say that we're in basically the third-gen conservatives. The first were the ones who built the movement after WWII. The second took it over around the early 90s but had mostly learned to parrot what the first-gens wrote and tried to apply it to an increasingly changed world. The third gens came up in the aftermath of Iraq/Afghanistan, during the Obama years and then Trump. They're in a position to question the continuing validity of a lot of assumptions underlying conservative thought and traditional policy positions.

Once the USSR fell, the two began to drift apart over issues such as free trade, immigration, and social issues such as gay marriage. Well because of the origins of the US it pretty much wasn't long-term viable here. By the start of the country the place is less than 50% English and they aren't all of one religious denomination.

The Floran was a cafe the band hung out in where that type of music was played. The second title means "Little rhapsody of the Bee." I don't get it either, but they are both excellent albums.

My wife took a train from Germany to Italy, in the early 90's. Last stop in Germany nearly all the Germans got off, and then next stop lots of Italians boarded.
She says it was remarkable. Car went from silence and everyone staring forward to pandemonium, everyone talking to everyone, strangers sharing food.
She loved it and wants very much to go back to Italy.

Yes and no.
Maybe racially? However, my experience with attending church is that you get a wide cross section of people in terms of other factors, such as education, income/occupation, background and political affiliation. Probably a more diverse (in the non-racial use) than a lot of other environments. My church in Denver I could be sitting in a pew with a former CIA agent, a rocket scientist, a homeless couple, a guy whose family name is plastered all over the city, a retired school teacher who is childhood friends with a famous evangelical preaher and so on. A wonderful mix of people.

Yeah. I had a friend from India who had the same mindset. There's a Hindi word for it, I forget what it is. But basically, it's expected / acceptable for young man to go to a white country, fuck as many white girls as he can (because they're all whores, obviously), then his family sets him up with a nice Indian girl of an appropriate caste. Similar thing actually happened to a friend of mine from high school. Was dating an Indian guy for 3 years, she thought marriage was a real possibility, then one day out of the blue he said "oh, I'm moving back to India. It's been fun." and she found herself 30 and single.
It's definitely a foreign way to look at the world for me.

Might be regional, but almost none of the Jewish people I know in the NYC area married to goyim. I can only think of one chick I personally know who did so. It was a real thing with my ex and her friends / family that I was not Jewish. I got plenty of "when are you going to convert" questions, which were met with me blinking rapidly. And none of them were orthodox.

To give these "woke" universities a clue, they should check out Wayne State University, which has racial make-up of students that they can't seem to reach: WSU has two ceremonies a year with EVERYONE who earned a degree. Do Columbia and Georgetown have segregated classes? Separating people by race or income is completely pointless; the undergraduate students in particular bond during their classes and want to attend with their friends.
