The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Our culture has descended so far into madness that we need laws to protect minors from life-changing mutilation at the hands of their parents and physicians.

The "Trans Movement" is the left's tip of the spear in its attacks on Western culture and traditional American society, and it will surprise no one but disgust all moral people that they are perfectly happy to use and discard children as pawns in this battle for our culture.

Alabama Senate passes bill that would ban hormone therapy, surgery for transgender minors

According to The Hill, the legislation, dubbed the Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act, passed the state's upper chamber in a 23-4 vote Tuesday, and is now headed to the Alabama House of Representatives where it has a good chance of approval. CBS News pointed out that the House "has already approved a companion bill."
If signed into law, the act would mean medical professionals caught providing treatments to youth under the age of 19 with care for gender transition would face a felony conviction with up to 10 years in jail or a $15,000 fine.
"Children aren't mature enough to make these decisions on surgeries and drugs," said Sen. Shay Shelnutt (R), who sponsored the bill, according to the Associated Press. "The whole point is to protect kids."

So the good people of Alabama are fighting back, and good for them! Maybe there is something in the water in blue cities where it seems most of this brutal treatment of children is occurring, but clearly Alabamans want no part of it. Maybe they are just smarter than the typical blue state parental unit, and understand that children are simply not mature enough or equipped with the tools necessary to make these sorts of decisions. A cursory glance at the behavior of children all over the world would expose that stupidity. My grandfather was a pediatrician, and he laughingly described children as, "Psychotic dwarves with a good prognosis." But there is an element of truth to that!

Interestingly there are no pressure groups for other Body Dysmorphic Disorders like Bulimia and Anorexia, because it is self evident that those psychiatric issues are destructive and require comprehensive therapy. yet we celebrate the "Trans" movement's victims instead of helping them.

Imagine a parent (and a physician who assisted with medication) who supported his daughter's desire to lose weight to the point that her health was endangered. Friends and family would be shocked, and act to end this clearly insane behavior, no doubt appealing to government if their efforts were unsuccessful. And that is how it should be.

Is there any difference between anorexia and the insanity of "Trans" people? They attempt suicide at a shocking rate; one recent study found that more than 40% had attempted suicide. Shouldn't the more backward parts of America defer to the wise people of Alabama and help these children, rather than mutilate them and put them on the road to a lifetime of misery and possibly an early death.

About 3 chapters in I started to notice that gay men were being mentioned a lot, and comparisons of gay men to - for example - deaf people and their struggles were being made over and over. When I closed the book for good I looked at a photo of the author on the dust cover. FLAMING homosexual.

It seems the Prog push to lower the voting age to 16 is simply one step in their desired ratchet-process to reduce the age of consent for everything to age two. If the voting age is reduced to 16, the Progs will immediately say, "If someone can vote at 16, why can't they do X, Y and Z at 16????" One of the doctors that first pioneered sex change in the US for adults at Johns Hopkins revealed that Johns Hopkins after reviewing the data for adults, quit doing the operations at the time due to adverse health (including mental) consequences. The overall view of that particular group of doctors was that psychological counseling was much to be preferred as a solution to gender dysphoria.

AT least with anorexia, people attempt to get anorexia-celebrating blogs and other social media shut down to protect (mostly) women from unhealthy encouragement to continue dieting themselves to death.

With transgenderism, the social media companies have highly placed trans activists who make sure that not only tran-encouraging content stays online, but that voices in opposition of it ar suspended, books pulled from Amazon, and so on.

**Important to note that there are different influeneces depending on the age in which a person becomes transgender. With toddlers/young children it seems to be primarily one or both parents. With teens, it seems much more likely it is peers, social media, and other cultural media that encourages and affirms. Worse schools and doctors will work around parents who are alarmed by the sudden declaration by a trans kid.

Because the "trans" movement is inextricably mixed up with the Gaystapo. And since gayness has been jammed down people's throats for over a decade, with the willing participation of advertising, media, movies and TV (and helped along - yes, helped along - by the obstinate cowardice of "conservatives" to say, "no, this is wrong"), it has become a de facto "normal" way of life, to the extent that arguing against it immediately turns you into the equivalent of Bull Connor fulminating against them damned coloreds at the lunch counter.

People "celebrate" because they are too afraid to stand up and say it is wrong.

The ChiComs cranked up a project a few years back to get a ton of hydrogen from sea water or something of that nature. Toyota makes a hydrogen-powered car to fit that purpose (basically an EV with a fuel cell instead of a battery) but of course infrastructure outside of that project is rare. One reason it's rare is because governments hate that people can do extended amounts of travelling without their knowledge or permission. The hardcore "environmentalists" now want cars banned entirely and everyone forced to use those electric scooters.

Absolutely agree. I really place the majority of the blame on psychiatrists and psychologists, whose practice today is not based on science, but based on their own collective mental illnesses. I think most who go into those so called professions today do so to be able to justify spending all their waking hours either trying to figure out what their own problems are, or seeking out others who have same illnesses, even as patients, so they can offer a group label that allows them, under the guise of sympathy, to normalize their own afflictions.
I scorched a friend of mine a few years ago who is a psychologist/juvenile counselor when we ran into a man walking downtown in a dress and high heels at the early forced acceptance of transmania. I told her in no uncertain terms that the psychology profession had abdicated it's responsibility to treat these people, helping them learn to cope in society, instead demanding society accept them as normal. She had no response.

I am very disturbed by the "features" on my new 2021 Subarus.

Both have the ability to broadcast their location, and can have their operating ranges reported and controlled. Remote start/lock/unlock and engine disabling are also features.

Right now, I can control these features from my computer or phone. I don't want to think about what happens when the government/tech overlords tell Subaru to fork over access codes, if they haven't already.

Maybe I'll hold on to my old F250 a while longer.

In diesel fuel, a colorant was added for off road use to distinguish between diesel that was not taxed versus diesel where taxes were applied. That being said, a lot of folks managed to blend the diesel or use it straight with not that much oversight unless you got caught. Figure something like that might occur in states with official weed production which could work on cannabis carried outside of the house.

They have already and if you read your fine print, it's part of the sales pitch ("Law Enforcement can stop your car if it's stolen" was the pitch on my Hyundai). Moreover, those systems can't be removed since the manufacturers learned that those nice, powerful computers could also be used for a lot of onboard functions.

The best way I have found to deal with this (and that I am doing on my car now that the DIY instructions for accessing the relevant bits are available) is to simply disconnect the cellular antenna. Those systems communicate on the cell network and the fact the functionality exists does not matter if there is no signal, and losing the signal (there are many places with no cell coverage) won't cause serious failures in the car.

It varies by car type, but it usually involves pulling out the radio and simply disconnecting the cellular antenna and taping it back out of the way. That metal box the stereo lives in is not conducive to passing radio signals...

Yes, but that is after-the-fact. You can take the car offline without going to extremes. The data recorder is still there, but arbitrary access from remote sources (to track you or to shut you down) can be stymied fairly easily.

Moreover, those systems can't be removed since the manufacturers learned that those nice, powerful computers could also be used for a lot of onboard functions.
The best way I have found to deal with this (and that I am doing on my car now that the DIY instructions for accessing the relevant bits are available) is to simply disconnect the cellular antenna.

Right. Things like real-time imaging and OCR are very good at tracking location passively. Disabling the cellular antenna in the car itself is not a panacea to tracking, but it removes the active data link between your vehicle and the manufacturer and the manufacturer's proxies (the government). They can still track you in various ways, of course, and they can still reconstruct what has been going (the data recorder) after the fact, but they can't interfere in real-time and do things like shut down your engine, force you to stop, override controls, etc. Those functions exist in these systems on purpose (ostensibly to interrupt car theft), and those can be thwarted easily to prevent shutdown at someone else's arbitrary whim (and real-time data transmission to the same).

Ever so THIS. I took a new position in the same company, basically removing myself from a customer facility. Was asked if I needed an office on campus. Told them "no". Now my man cave where I do HAM radio, amature rocketry, & hobby electronics is my office. I set up a 4 port USB KVM switch so I can have my Raspberry Pi, my personal PC, and my work PC share the same 36" curved screen HDTV. Since the work PC is a laptop, I'm totally not watching movies or blogging all day. Food is great, sometimes I get it brought up to me on a tray. I pay that back by making breakfast. Oh, and I can be politically incorrect, not wear pants, and fart loudly without upsetting gender fluid dumbasses.

Why can't we just teach kids that people are different, and bodies are different, and their body is perfectly fine just as nature made it.
