These leftwing idiots -- one a golddigging dick-riding nobody, the other being a college dropout whose only skill is buying a buggy operating system and failing to fix it for fifty fucking years -- are apparently "experts" in everything, and are telling schools to teach your children that math is racist.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is bankrolling a group of activists who believe math is racist.
A group of fringe educators have compiled a six-part toolkit offering an "integrated approach" to developing an "anti-racist math practice" viewed through a social justice lens. It chides the "concept of mathematics being purely objective" as "unequivocally false." It argues focusing on the "right answer" to math equations is an example of white supremacy.
The toolkit A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction is meant to help educators in grades 6-8. If your child's educators subscribe to any of the beliefs in these texts, you should pull them immediately.

"You can get used to the taste difference, and the claim is they're going to make it taste even better over time," he added.

Mine are well into their 30s, but we still had asinine math teachers trying new things. Kid 2 had a really stupid teacher for 11th grade and was also at a point where getting help from either of us did not appeal. I knew of a mathematician whose career ended due to mental illness (real not liberalism or criminality) and I hired him to set things straight. Worked like a charm as a mathematician, as opposed to a math teacher, is not bogged down in trendy stupid methods of teaching. In fact the first thing he said was "why are they teaching you such a circuitous way of doing something simple" then proceeded to make it look simple.

Not a MS Windows story, but I was doing the calculations for my Master's Thesis on a computer with a pentium chip (the one with the floating point calculation problem). I had a hand coded C++ matrix calculation that would generally take 5 hours to run. Imagine my "joy" when I found out about the floating point "feature".....

If you're referring to public schools, then maybe. But only if it's easier for get a masters in the other subjects than it is for math.

Pay is determined by number of years of service, and advanced degrees. A 5th year social studies teacher with just a BA will have the same pay as the 5th year math or science teacher with a BS. But, the federal government will grant student loan forgiveness if you agree to teach a STEM subject in a low income district for a set number of years A deal that doesn't apply (or at least didn't used to) to other subjects area's.

Not long after i left teaching at a Catholic middle school (my kids still attended though) the teachers were not happy with the behavior of the 8th grade boys, my son included. Having met with the teachers, it was clear they were upset that the boys were acting like, well, boys. Coincidentally, after I had left, the teachers (all female staff) decided to reduce the after lunch recess time from 5 days a week to 2 days a week. Smart bunch, those teachers were.

385 You can go to most any cow college and hire a decent engineer because math and engineering are well standardized and don't care about you. You can even go to some tiny private colleges and hire a decent electrical engineer for the same reason. I know a couple of black women who went that tiny private college route and are doing well in aerospace because aerospace doesn't care about your color or sex organs.
