THE QUOTES OF THE DAY

Quote I

"As a result of going in for heart surgery, he ended up being a triple amputee," "Not because of the heart surgery, but because of the drug that was given to him called Heparin." Attorney Warren Paboojian

Quote II

“I’m a certified black man. I’m certified black in all 50 states. But the federal government doesn’t recognize me.” Ralph Taylor

Quote III

“That is not a partisan thing. That transcends everything that you and I might disagree or agree on. That should bring together left and right to protect our Constitution.” Former Democratic adviser Naomi Wolf

Quote IV

If hunting is banned, animals will become worthless and will disappear. Hunting has helped bring back a lot of species from the brink of extinction. The only people protecting these animals are trophy hunters.” Merelize Van Der Merwe

Quote V

It's time to stop all new fossil fuel infrastructure in America. No more pipelines!" Interior Secretary Nominee Deb Haaland

Seems very logical and centrist to me.

No word from our resident Drink and Food Editor if he approves of Gin soaked raisins. Supposedly they help you beat the Kung Flu.

Ask Lucia DeClerck how she has lived to be 105, and she is quick with an answer.

“Prayer. Prayer. Prayer,” she offers. “One step at a time. No junk food.”

But surviving the coronavirus, she said, also may have had something to do with another staple: the nine gin-soaked golden raisins she has eaten each morning for most of her life.

“Fill a jar,” she explained. “Nine raisins a day after it sits for nine days.”

Her children and grandchildren recall the ritual as just one of Ms. DeClerck’s endearing lifelong habits, like drinking aloe juice straight from the container and brushing her teeth with baking soda. (That worked, too: She did not have a cavity until she was 99, relatives said.)

“We would just think, ‘Grandma, what are you doing? You’re crazy,’” said her 53-year-old granddaughter, Shawn Laws O’Neil, of Los Angeles. “Now the laugh is on us. She has beaten everything that’s come her way.”

So we can disregard Mom's advice? Always wear clean underwear in case you're in an accident.

Self-Cleaning Underwear Can Allegedly Be Worn for Weeks Without Becoming Smelly

A Minnesota company has created what it calls “the world’s cleanest underwear”, an innovative self-cleaning undergarment that can be worn daily for weeks, even months, without becoming smelly.

HercLéon, a material innovation group known for creating the world’s first self-cleaning socks, t-shirts and bedsheets, is now taking on the underwear industry with Kribi, a line of undergarments made from a bacteria-fighting fabric. This revolutionary material, called HercFiber continuously destroys all bacteria and stays clean without needing a wash. All you have to do is let the underwear “air out” for a bit after wearing them, and you can safely put them on again the next day.

There are misunderstood youth around the world it just isn't a USA phenomenon. Wanna be gardener and musician confused for terror planning jihadist.

A man accused of planning a terror attack in Britain has told a court he wanted to become a farmer and aspired to be “like Alan Titchmarsh”.

Sahayb Abu, 27, denied planning an atrocity and told the Old Bailey his efforts were focused on starting up a charity that would grow crops for developing countries.

“Honest to God this is what I had planned for my life, I swear to you,” he told jurors while giving evidence on Tuesday. “I’m no Alan Titchmarsh but I was trying to get there.”

Abu said he watched videos of the veteran gardener and broadcaster “growing stuff, snipping this and snipping that”, adding: “I wanted to learn how to do this thing.”

The court heard that Abu had searched for information on drip irrigation systems, set up a fundraising page, and wanted to generate food for Somalia and Yemen.

Why do you send your children to parochial school? She is only concerned the family may be blackballed from the diocese in Sacramento entirely.

California mom and her husband say it’s not fair their three boys were kicked out of a Catholic elementary school because the mom sells access to sexy photos and videos of herself online.

Crystal Jackson, known as “Mrs. Poindexter” online, started an OnlyFans account for her “hot mom” persona and was shocked by how quickly it grew. She posts photos and videos of herself mostly doing “normal mom stuff” around the house while posing in lingerie. Some of the content contains nudity.

“We think of it as artistic or sultry and sexy and fun and playful but certainly nothing hardcore,” said Chris Jackson, Crystal’s husband, who sometimes takes the photos.

Thanks to her subscribers, Crystal Jackson’s OnlyFans account now brings in up to $150,000 per month.

But the mother says last summer, a group of moms from her kids’ Catholic school, Sacred Heart Parish in Sacramento, California, started a crusade to get her three boys under the age of 12 kicked out. At one point, anonymous envelopes of Crystal Jackson’s photos were sent to the school.

“All these women are talking about you,” Crystal Jackson said. “They wanted my kids removed from school, and they were successful in the very end.”

Former Capitol Police Chief Blames Intelligence Breakdown for Jan. 6 Capitol Breach

The former chief of the Capitol Police on Tuesday blamed a breakdown in intelligence ahead of the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol.

“I think in exigent circumstances there needs to be a streamlined process for the Capitol police chief, for Capitol Police, to have authority,” former Chief Steven Sund told senators during a hearing about the incident.

Sund, who resigned from his post several days after the Capitol breach, remarked that the House and Senate sergeants-at-arms on Jan. 4 allegedly did not respond to a request for assistance. He also requested assistance from the National Guard but was rebuffed.

THE ONT MUSICAL INTERLUDE

I'm not a big Dee Snier fan. But, he's right.

Dee Snider had some harsh criticism for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, claiming the institution is run by “elitist assholes” in a tirade posted to Twitter.

The Twisted Sister frontman’s main source of contention seems to stem from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's attitude toward metal and hard-rock bands. In the singer’s opinion, too many deserving artists from those genres have been overlooked.

This incredibly talented, brilliant rock and roll blues guitarist died at age 70...without getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That makes me so fucking mad. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is such a crock of shit.

It is called a "Get a way car" for a reason. Genius Award Winner.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A bank located blocks away from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office headquarters was robbed Monday by a woman in a motorized wheelchair, authorities said.

The bank robbery was reported about noon at the Regions Bank branch on Bay Street near Laura Street.

Police said the woman showed up to discuss an account, but she got into an argument with a teller that escalated when she threatened to kill everyone in the bank and announced she was robbing the place, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Helping the blind, immensely. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

35 years ago, our son, Jared, was born blind. Fortunately, I learned about her life-changing organization when Jared’s teacher of the visually-impaired introduced us to Seedlings Braille Books for Children.

It was founded by Debra Bonde, and although she did not plan to start a nonprofit back in 1984, she ended up helping blind children all over the world.

A shy woman, she just wanted to find a volunteer job she could do without having to talk to anyone. So, she signed up for a braille transcription class in hopes of translating books into braille in the basement of her Detroit home.

I was told the dishes we give a national identity were from those countries, but was the special dish, the creme-de-la-creme of that country's food offerings.
In America, since we can essentially get every ingredient just about any time of the year, those specialty dishes are now common, everyday fare.
Lasagna, Beef Stroganoff, Fajitas, etc.
One more reason it is good to be an American.

264 Millie Weaver (of ShadowGate fame) has another informative video out ... lots of details on January 6th PsyOp ... lays out a lot of the planning, and goes on to identify a lot of actors behind the scenes. It is titled "PsyOp the Steal". Really shows how the "insurrection" actions stopped the Trump "stop the steal" momentum completely (with a lot of help from media and DeepState of course).

The game wardens likely are paid by hunter's fees. I don't know anything about trophy hunting in Africa. But i know for sure hunters in the USA have done more to create thriving herds of dear, turkey, ducks, whatever, and protect them. Some of the numbers I used to read back in the day are so astounding that if not true, they would seem made up. I recall one that I read that Texas had ten times as many deer in the 90s than the entire country did 70 or 80 years before.

285 I first "encountered" Naomi Wolf when I was on my college debate team in 1991. The national topic was "Resolved: That advertising degrades the quality of life in America." Naturally, her book "The Beauty Myth" was all the rage as a source for some folks. Christina Hoff Sommers was also a big author back then. I read a bit of her stuff and found it interesting. Then there's Camille Paglia and Tammy Bruce, both of whom I would love to meet. You can throw in Tulsi Gabbard who appears to share the same politics as Wolf (at least as to the surveillance state) but who doesn't come with the "baggage" so to speak. One of Wolf's problems is that while "smart" in a however-you-wish-to-define-it sense, she's a master at fooling herself as revealed by her comments about Biden shortly after the election and recently. From what I can sense, and I could be very wrong, these types of women seem to hew Dem because: 1) abortion; and 2) icky fundamentalist Christians. However, as each of them has shown, that doesn't mean they can't put those aside and go on Tucker (Wolf) or befriend Rush Limbaugh (Bruce) - basically, engaging in political discourse as it should be.

Yep, but this was what the original builders had their plumbers install when the place was built. I did have the chance to change 'em out when I rebuilt everything after Hurricane Ike, but that was vetoed on a time and expense basis. You'll note though that I left plenty of space in the "hole" under the trim estusheon to easily fit tools onto the valve body to effect repairs.

Kitchen sink, I just went with a straight up COMMERCIAL overhead spring/flexible hose spray and faucet combo. Not the lightweight imitations they sell at the big box stores, but the real deal, from a Restaurant Supply House. Is better.

Aha. Hydraulic clutch. Well if the master cylinder leaks, the fluid typically winds up on the cabin side of the firewall, under the mats, and pools on the floor. And if the factory fill was DOT 5, it doesn't have the pungent odor of the old DOT 3.

Does it have an external slave cylinder, or is it like the newer Fords that use an annular slave cylinder behind the release bearing? That kind might have to leak a lot before the fluid escapes the clutch housing. Guess how hard that one is to replace!

You have to apprentice (legitimately) with a lawyer for several years depending on the state. Copious records have to be kept and you still have to pass certain tests. I think this is what Kim Kardashian is doing. I think it's super cool but it's not for everyone. I did the traditional law school route and passed both the California and Virginia exams. Virginia was one of the hardest tests I've ever taken and I was absolutely sure I failed. California I finished 20 minutes early.

I did that. Civil clinic program. I had a minor employment discrimination case and then a tenant defense. Normally we were supposed to handle several more, but the tenant case was actually pretty big so that's mostly what I handled. I took the landlord's deposition. He was very in the wrong. His boyfriend was hassling my client, a middle-aged woman with a child, I think, whose husband had died from brain cancer. Broke into her unit. The place was not kept up, sewage backed up into the unit, etc. After I left, I heard it settled when the landlord got brain cancer. (I don't wish that on anyone, period.) I learned a lot in that program and am damn glad I took it.

California law is complicated and getting more so (at least in the civil arena).

And like when I was a looey platooey leader, when someone of inferior rank but superior experience said "X", unless I knew it was absolutely wrong, I did not pull rank. For awhile, some years ago when I was doing trials and motions regularly, I actually had a bit of a fan club among the court reporters. I spoke at the pace they preferred, I enunciated, I slowed down for cumbersome words, my exhibits were (generally) in order, I didn't talk over others, etc., and I didn't think of them as just "the court reporter". When I told them that my mother was a court reporter, they understood why I understood them.

There are some really bad lawyers out there. My judge's philosophy was that he couldn't fix that, but he wasn't going to let an injustice be done in his courtroom because the lawyer was so bad.

389 Aha. Hydraulic clutch. Well if the master
cylinder leaks, the fluid typically winds up on the cabin side of the
firewall, under the mats, and pools on the floor. And if the factory
fill was DOT 5, it doesn't have the pungent odor of the old DOT 3.

Does it have an external slave cylinder, or is it like the newer
Fords that use an annular slave cylinder behind the release bearing?
That kind might have to leak a lot before the fluid escapes the clutch
housing. Guess how hard that one is to replace!

No, this is a separate plugin that basically locks down the audio signal if it falls below a certain level. Nukes background noise into oblivion.

The noise reducer is more of an algorithmic thing in that it's trying to remove noise from the signal based on a sample of the noise.

No, the spring I made from a scrap of hacksaw blade is the cylinder stop spring, and keeps the cylinder from rotating randomly when the trigger is fully released. As the trigger is depressed, that little spring falls away, and a positive cylinder stop built into the trigger rises up behind it to secure the cylinder. The gun will actually function OK without the cylinder stop spring altogether, according to what I have seen on the Internet.

I am going to try to get some new-production ammo, and see if works better with that.

411 If the MC has a failed seal around the piston it might not leak, but also might have trouble generating pressure to release the clutch.

The Mustang had that problem with it's master brake cylinder. Since that year featured a single reservoir, well, it wasn't good.

423 And I got the new-to-me '99 Suburban home, and up on ramps. Looks like the power steering fluid leak is a blown pressure hose. I peeled back the corrugated plastic loom covering it, and it was oil-soaked inside. If the leak were elsewhere, i doubt that would be the case. A little fluid on the bottom of the box where the Pitman arm attaches, but that could be drippage from the pressure hose.

And right front wheel is toed out real badly, but it looks like the right side outer tie rod is waay over-extended on the adjusting sleeve, which would cause that, for sure.

So my jobs tomorrow: pressure wash the area, replace PS pressure hose, set toe in, test drive.

426 not making light of it. I like Tiger and hate to see this I don't know the extent of all this and neither does anyone else. But I will say this. It is a bit weird that he always seemed to have a car deal. Someone in another thread mentioned he was driving a Hyundai. I think it was a Genesis. The reality of top PGA Tour golfers, is they drive the car that sponsors them. Tiger could drive anything in the world, but that is not the point, not the point at all. Hell a much lesser golfer from the UK collects Lambroghinis. Tiger could buy and sell the guy 50 times over.

It may have been discussed here already, but did any of the Horde watch the PBS show about Thomas Sowell? Jason Reilly was the narrator and it was very well done. I hope only the best for the guy. But the chance he ever gets an endorsement deal from another car company seems remote at best. This is the third major incident and all involved cars for some reason. My guess is no car company would want to endorse him. Well I can think of one idea, but will let that go. Anyway, I do wish him the best and his family the best. Prayers up.

442 I don't wish Tiger ill. That would require me to care, and I just can't muster it up. The weird "oh no, an athlete or celebrity has died or been injured" fixation this country has is a trifle weird. If you live in place of any size in this country, there are plenty of people on any given day who are having a very bad day medically. But they didn't set any records or appear on any magazine covers, so they don't get any press unless it's of the "if it bleed, it leads variety" and no one much cares unless it's to mumble "better him than me."

A friend of mine got a new Huaracan a few months ago. It's the most impractical car on Earth.

In the "frunk" there literally is room only for a very small overnight bag. No room behind the seats, in fact at 5'11 I use the maximum seat extension for leg room. There is so little ground clearance that every driveway is a mortal threat to the front fascia.

It is a blast to drive though.

nothing new about that. This is a big country and people die every day. I doubt many of them or their families would want a lot of press coverage. We already know the press is mostly horrible.

If anything the press should show more respect for the rich and famous. But of course they will never show respect en masse. I take it the other way, it is weird that some sign up to live their lives under a microscope simply because of the trade they take up. If you can put a ball in a hole better than others, prepare for the microscope. If you use a microscope better than others, you will likely remain unbothered.

485 So Caesar - hard times *followed* by collapse? Or, hard times followed by worse times? Not clear here.

Robust, somewhat sustainable stalemates are often the worsts of all worlds. The economic doldrums and damage, accelerated decline in credibility/prestige of key institutions, and alienation of more and more people are almost certainly what we'll be seeing.

But absent a currency/monetary crisis (a real one), I wouldn't bet on collapse. And, even then - 2008, COVID, and the catastrophic election scandal of 2020 all point to very poor popular and institutional performance in response to crises. The US can subsist at a very high level of corruption and decay - inertia, the greatest force in nature.

495 We finally replaced our 01 Camry with a Nissan Rogue, '17 vintage. It's my wife's car, so she is the principal driver. She loves the thing, I can drive it just fine, it has one BIG advantage over the Camry, to get in it, you simply slide in sideways. The Toyota you got down in and up out, I hated that.

As with most new cars, it has more bells and whistles than anyone will ever require but I figure it should only take a couple years to learn it. For the amount I'll be behind the wheel it is a fine little car.

Greetings. I am now ensconced in what Miley calls my control room. I got ambitious today and bored some cable holes in the desk/cabinet/shelves in my little office here and got some of my switches and routers and computers set up permanently.

I now have a nice array of blinken lights all over the place, blinking away as data goes across the wire.

It's actually a good hiding place. It's tucked away and this morning Miley got to wondering where I was. She doesn't think about this little hidey hole. Heh, heh.

From my control room, my captain's chair if you will (and I got me a good chair), I got to investigating what Mrs. Duke's smart meters are reporting back to Mrs. Duke.

You can log into your account, go to the detailed usage page, and see hour by hour data of your power usage. This is damned interesting, nice to know, but of course, all that data is available to the global oligarchy and their Deep State puppets. Not to mention local yokel authoritehs.

I can see when I take a shower. Usage ramps up to about 6+ kw-hr for the hour, which is the water heater and the bathroom ceiling heater and shit. I can see when the stove comes on for cooking. You can get a good picture of the sleep-wake cycle for the house, too.

Anyone with access to that data can learn all sorts of things about what you're doing.

Mrs. Duke's smart meters phone home via the cellular network. Miley's brother has a nifty RF meter, and you can see the meter's transmission bursts. It phones home every few seconds or so.

Jake is an orange tabby as well. He showed up at the farm sometime around April of last year. He was just barely grown. When Miley and I moved in down here at the new house, Miley's poor kitty, Harli, didn't last too long, and I thought I'd see if Jake might like to stay.

I brought him down, and he freaked out, running back to the folks house. But then, a few days later, he showed up down here around midnight. He reluctantly came in the house.

He's a regular fixture now. He comes down here regularly around nightfall, maybe a little before. And he stays here all night, then goes back to the folk's house around daybreak.

We put in cat door in the side door to the kitchen that leads to the screened porch. What I wasn't thinking was that allows the cat to bring in his hunting bounty.

There is good hunting down here, and that crazy cat has probably brought in 20 rodents he's caught.

Had an Australian Terrier named Louie (Fair Dinkum Jazzman Louie Armstrong, but his ears never went up so, no show dog). He would kill rodents constantly, but the only ones he brought in the doggie door were the squirrels. That little shit was fast, and deadly.

He always looked at me like I was some kind of Philistine for throwing them out. I think he thought we should slap 'em on the grill.

Then I had a beagle, who brought in a couple of squirrels. My theory was that those particular squirrels must have been brain damaged to go slow enough to be caught by that fat beagle. But, who knows?

Doggie doors are a convenience and a crap shoot.

One morning, I walked in the living room and there was a mess of feathers scattered all over the place. He'd caught a bird, brought it in, and had some sort of killing orgy in the living room. I got to looking around, and found the remains of the carcass in one of the bedrooms.

Then one night he caught something, alive, that looked like a baby squirrel. It wasn't, but some woods rodent I've seen before, but have no idea what species it is. I thought it was about dead, tossed it out, and sent Jake out to finish it. Before I knew, sucker came alive, and crawled up the brick wall and scampered off. It was some sort of climber.

i have had a few kindle Fire's . There are probably better tablets out there. I think the key focus of anything from Amazon is to deliver Amazon content and get you to buy more. I haven't used my Kindle in a year. I thought it would be important to my life, but really it wasn't . Not saying my experience is common, my guess is it is not.

that is true. His son Charlie played with him recently in a Father Son tournament. 'of course now they call it some generic name but we know what they mean. He is a good player, but you never know what can happen. In golf like so many other sports, people can be the best at their age but not progress, they can simply get stuck. I hope Charlie continues, as there is no good reason to not hope for it.

587 John Daly's son seems to be a prodigy as well. But to be honest, as someone who has followed the PGA Tour for decades, my guess is it will be pretty incredible if either of them become successful on the PGA Tour. I am not being negative here, just acknowledging how difficult it is. sure these two have talent and every advantage. Even that is not often enough. Just ask Craig Stadler's son, Jack's son, and so many others.

There are few phone picks I need to save. And I just don't trust the cloud. But don't follow me, we are all living in the cloud now, to not have a few thousand pics in Steve Job's space is weird to be honest.

594 my problem with these net companies is they keep getting compromised. They apologize, and offer free credit monitoring and identity theft for a year. It costs them cents on the dollar and most people didn't even know their info was in danger. I personally think most of the net is a hoax that can never be fixed. I know three or four companies have sent me letters about security breeches. The joke is these companies are not net companies, and they never asked me to put anything online. in the end, there is no privacy, we gave it up for what I am still not sure.

the old joke from Norm Macdonald was that guys in the old days would only take a few pics in their life. I kind of had that in my life. One Grandfather had tons of pics, but the other, very, very few. As for great granfather's , forget about it.

but if you have lots of pics you want to save, you should be able to do it. I never tried it with Amazon but I am sure they offer the service. I know Apple is crazy about the cloud and the photo abilitiy of their various devices.

608 Went to bed a little earlier than the norm, so up a little earlier. A lot of people received a lot of snow that they normally don't, and we were no exception. With it being so bitter cold, I had let the gas tank get lower than normal, and I filled up yesterday. The car started running rough on hills and I think, due to the melt off, I have some water in the tank. I'll get a bottle of dry gas and see if that cures it. That used to happen a lot up north, the gas station's fill cap for their tanks not seated and melting snow running into them.

Vote Red or else you're dead! We need to retake the Senate with a RINO to save America, or something.

I kind of wonder if that is Mitch the Bitch's plan. Go ahead and support whatever the Dems want to do. Every autocratic, despotic nominee gets his stamp of approval. Things get bad and then everyone votes for the GOP because that is all they can do to try to stem the tide because it is about survival.

This time of day when it's still dark outside, often they will both show up at the same time, side by side, contentedly eating out of their own bowls, completely unbothered by the presence of the other.

The possum also seems to have a voracious appetite for the unshelled sunflower seeds I leave in a plate on a stand for the cardinals.

there is a great irony about the Civil War I have discussed a few times. I did not come up with this info and I was not the first to talk about it. It came from mainstream historians. They still exist but most of them are rarely heard from these days.

One of the things most modern Americans do not understand is that the people who fought in the Civil War had much more in common with each other than people today. The combatants in the Civil War were 98 percent white, likely well over 90 percent Christian and protestant. They had the same believe that America was exceptional, based on God's ordination. They had the same stories, the same fables. They had the same religious ceremonies. But still they killed over 700,000* in a nation of 30 million.

* a conservative modern estimate.

747 MSM is now breathlessly awaiting some act of White nationalist terrariums like they eagerly wait for schools shootings. Anything will do, doesn't even need to be violent, just the wrong attitude towards our betters. Which is why I have to refrain from telling the school what I really think of all their PC garbage or writing my Dem congresswomyn.

748 I talk to todays young college students, and you would be surprised what they don't know about history...I don't remember in 'Social Studies' learning much either. I was just more interested in history than most of my fellow boy students who thought mostly of girls. City schools seem to teach mostly about black history now days.

749 Fauci was on CNN blaming Trump for the huge death toll in the US from corona

Because....???

Trump only did what Fauci was recommending. Since he was the "expert." Slimy, little bastard.

750 The bigger number is because it takes into account those killed with Civil War, not just exclusively by Civil War.

754 Speaking of Covid, San Francisco has a positivity rate under 2% below that of 2 neighboring counties, yet indoor dining is not being reopened here.

Why?

755 It's not just city schools, Colin. The only book report ever due by my kid from 7th - 12th grade was in February, black history month, and it had to be on a black person. He used to have a rotating schedule of reports that he submitted each year after editing and rewriting. Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice, Clarence Thomas and some baseball player who I can't remember.

true, and the most experienced military commander was Jefferson Davis. He always wanted to lead in a battle but he got elected president.

but the similarities of these people are amazing. Take away slavery and some states rights issues, they agreed on everything. Compare it to today when they don't agree on the death penalty, abortion, religion, the importance of the USA, Russia, China, Taxes, etc. Not playing around. To be honest, if you study it, one should be scared as hell that we have two sides that agree on almost nothing.

757 that is what gets me and many others about the Civil War. These people agreed and shared almost everything and still tore each other to shreds.

Does he and the other experts realize the alleged massively high death rate in the US,(meant to smear the US as stupid), , makes the medical community in here look like incompetent idiots, especially given the massive spending and dollars thrown at them?

760 there are many articles online that explain why the 620,000 number it too low. They looked and local censuses and when people disappeared they said "hmm". I stand by by number of 700,000 as being conservative. If anyone wants to challenge it, fine, Maybe not today, but I will gladly discuss it.

What kills me is that is just deaths, and a nation of 30 MM. Think of all the devastating injuries. Yet some think a new CW would be ok. I say it would be more horrific and with 99 percent less meaning. yes I know the war did not start over slavery the way most think, In fact the opposite is true. If anything the South started it over slavery, not the North. But slavery was the key factor, it was the one factor that required a war and without it there would be no war. Anyone who denies this just doesn't have all the facts. That is ok, many of use didn't have them years ago.
