I don't know what's true, but I do know that they're fucking with the numbers. I'm not explaining that well, but I *highly* suspect that if the same person gets 2-3 positive tests, they're counting that as 2-3 cases, not as 1 case.

Does it mean 92% of any and all infectious particles, regardless of disease? (Because infectious particles span a wide range of sizes.)

And if the latter, what happens with the other 8%? Are they sufficient to cause infection?

If you can swing it, you need to pull your kid out of public school and homeschool them for the duration. It's the only way the schools will hear the parents - their revenue is tied to the kid. No kid in school, no revenue for the school.

Even though kids are home anyway, if they are logging into a computer to learn, attendance is taken, the kid is marked as 'present' for school purposes, and they continue to get revenue.

I dont look at the total cumulative. I look at of the curve has topped out. In Eastern Europe where they barely test and have no vaccination deaths are goi g down but the cumulative known cases has leveled off at 5 per 100. Again, you are not capturing all the cases. You may have even double counted. But the peak cumulative cases leveling off indicates basic herd immunity, whatever the underlying numbers.

228 Annual [Chinese] population and birth figures for 2020 were not released as part of a series of economic indicators last month, mainly because China finished a once-in-a-decade population census at the end of last year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. The bureau said preliminary results of the census were expected to be published in April.

But over the course of January, some Chinese provinces and cities have disclosed their own birth data through government and state media reports -- and in some cases birth rates declined more than 30 per cent in 2020 from a year earlier.

They can't claim it stops the virus because the virus is much smaller than the holes in the weave. So their fallback claim is that all the little tiny droplets of water, food, mucous, etc. that we aspirate into the environment are mostly stopped. Each of those droplets have lots of viruses (virii?) floating around in them.

254 Top members of... Joe Biden's COVID team are warning internally that the US may not reach herd immunity until Thanksgiving, or even the start of winter, much later than originally calculated, according to two senior admin officials.
++++
And why is that, Joe? Could it be that your puppet administration is failing at vaccine distribution? Or could it be that people are reluctant to get a vaccine, what with the constant push against "Trump's Vaccine" that the media wing of your outfit pushed for several months, along with general distrust of institutions - all institutions - that your complex has been engendering for thirty solid years?

I only ask - and I think the question is relevant - because vaccination adds immune people to the "herd." If vaccines work well and are being distributed well, then herd immunity is moments away not months. So which thing are you lying about? Vaccine and distribution efficacy, or when herd immunity will be reached? It has to be at least one of those things. You can't square this without there being a lie in one of those two areas.

You start to get restless, sitting there, waiting for the bride to come in, but at this point, you don't know if the bride is somewhere down in Virginny, with the groom's cousin Lou, or if they're going to wheel in a pig with lipstick on, wearing the dress, or even if the anti-Christ is going to burst through the doors.

All you know is, you're glued to your pew, and you ain't going nowhere until that SOMEBODY comes in wearing that dress.

One morning I entered my lab to find a workman bashing an air conduit with a hammer. "WTF are you doing?," I asked. He replied he was there to check for asbestos.

"By bashing a hole in the conduit?"

He shrugged, and resumed bashing.

"Yup, there's asbestos in here all right," he later said. Then he taped a piece of plastic over the gaping hole, and left. 1/2

Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at February 10, 2021 03:47 PM (A68IW)

281 2/2

Air movements in the conduit made the plastic suck in and out like a bellows - doubtless spreading asbestos particles - if such there were - all over hell's half acre in my lab. They left the conduit, and the gaping hole, for six months before doing anything at all about it.

Because, you know, asbestos is dangerous. Not dangerous enough to do anything about immediately, but dangerous enough to do something about it in the fullness of time.

Homeschooling, like firearms carry, is one of reasons I could believe progress is possible. It isn't that long ago as 29-year-olds measure it that homeschooling was illegal, everywhere in the country except Nevada and Utah.

----
My sister works as school counselor (wellness, not career) for a couple of districts in the northern Ohio cornfield country. She's been very worried about the students in her workload, who already had problems before Wuhan Flu showed up. A few of them have committed suicide from the enforced loneliness, and this is red-Ohio Trumper country. Not all the kids have a good Internet connection, not all of them respond to virtual school well, and the lack of activity is maddening. I fear for my nephew, who has gone from being life of the party in his own group to being a near shut-in whose introverted attention to the Net makes ME worry for him! Fascinating. I wonder how they'll rationalize what must be, from a virus standpoint, the *safest* thing to do. Do some exercise? That's good. Breathe deeply and a lot, keeping your lungs nice and clear? That's good. Work out alone, safely, far from any disease vectors? That's good. Be outdoors in the nice, clean, well-circulating air? That's good.

How will they square a ban on that? I look forward to the rationalization.

349 Properly worn and fitted masks such as n95's can reduce transmission and getting it. But, very few people are wearing n95's outside of medical professionals and fewer yet are doing the rest of it--cleaning hands about 20-30 times per day in public, not touching face or mask, keeping the mask tight enough for a seal (leaves welts on your face), and the exhale valve types are useless in preventing transmission from an N95 mask.

So in affect, we have adopted the rather stupid Security Theater of airports to Covid nationwide with about the same results disease wise, but with much greater damage to children, the elderly, the people unemployed, and the national economy. There is also the intrinsic damage to society's psyche with the nation being prodded to treat unmasked citizens as terrorists and vaccine doubters as mass murderers. At the same time, literally murderers, robbers, and other criminals are being set free to punish the population.

There were no cell phones then in the 50's. He was getting ready to leave because he didn't know what was going on and was afraid she had left him. 410 349 Properly worn and fitted masks such as n95's can reduce transmission and getting it.

This is a decent argument, but you don't even need to make it. There's an even better argument: simple averages.

Let's take a simple scenario. A grocery services an average of 2,000 customers per weekday. Of those, 500 are considered "early" customers (before 08:00, mostly construction workers) or "late" customers (after 20:00).

So from the hours of 06:00-08:00 and 20:00-23:00, they move an average of 10 customers per hour during the slow hours, and 125 customers per hour during peak hours.

Now assume a curfew that resets hours to 08:00 - 19:00. The number of customers isn't going to change. The average volume is now 182 customers per hour - nearly 50% *higher* than peak hours before the curfew. Packing people in more closely together in terms of space *and* time is ideal for store operators (no more low-throughput slow hours), but not so much for reducing disease spread, eh?

These people don't own a fucking calculator.

The last 4 years, and especially the last year, have witnessed the most collapsed institutions, and the worst people in the country wreaking incredible vandalism on the civic culture (what remains of it), all the actual norms and standards, dragging the country down in every respect.

While savaging, slandering, and under-cutting (legally and illegally) one of our most effective chief executives, ever.

And the result? They are rewarded. Every depredation they committed - no consequence (a huge % of Americans aren't even aware of them, and don't understand them when told).

And Trump's greatest failure* - to resist and debunk this complete abandonment of actual science, actual public health wisdom, and even the most basic concepts of common sense and liberty - is now the gap through which the barbarian totalitarian hordes are pouring.

* yeah yeah complicated topic, perfection is not my standard, incredibly difficult position he was in - but the bottom line was most of official public health and science went way off the rails, with disastrous results, without effective counter

I suspect, but I do not know for sure, if enough parents just took their kids out of school altogether and the numbers dropped enough there might be more willingness to get back to school.

Until parents quit putting up with this crap it will continue. You are setting a horrible example for your kids by not rising up about this.

I was watching the first hour or so of the 24 Hours of Daytona and the channel cut away to air drone racing. You couldn't see shit, just dweebs sitting in a room while a computer simulated to you what the drones were supposed to be doing as the dweebs sat in the rooms.

I couldn't believe it. They cut away from a once a year 24 hour endurance race where men are actually driving machines that have to last 24 hours at racing speeds and pit crews that can swap engines and body panels in minutes to show me guys who would be eating cheetos and watching porn in the same rooms if the cameras weren't on.

No one had serious symptoms. My brother couldn't taste or smell for a day or two. My friends girlfriend was coughing for a few days, but I suspect that's because she spent her entire quarantine sucking on a Juul, going through like 4 pods a day.

546 Masks are required when standing up in restaurants but not sitting down and eating.

The reason? The virus is actually inert as long as it appears in droplets that are 4 feet off the ground or lower.* This is because at a height of 4 feet or less, gravity weakens the virus so that it can't hurt anyone.

It's science!

Look up "Dark Syde Phil" or DSP's escapades online if you want a laugh and or an example. He's a vidya game streamer who initially got "big" because he was one of the first to do in on YouTube during the late 2000's, but he wasn't able to keep the massive audience (and Machinima deal) for long-term. 398 DaveinFla,
The Alcee Hastings situation was that the Senate asserted in previous impeachments (judges) that a vote to remove was also a vote to exclude. So, the Senate got out of the habit about having two separate votes and in the spate of impeachments of federal judges in the 1980's, Harry Claiborne was one, Walter Nixon, was another, and also Alcee Hastings. Apparently, though because Hastings did not get a second vote on disqualification, he was allowed to be on the ballot for the House race. Seth Tillman and Josh Blackmun contend that the House and Senate powers to impeach and remove do not include bar from future elected office for the U.S. federal government. Only appointed positions can be barred by the disqualification vote.

599 Darrell Harris Johnson is right (as usual).

For all of the "we'll get 'em next season" ('22) sorts, you might want to glance at the glacier now scouring our society of most sense, history, and actual American values.

"Education"

Let's see how Chris Rufo does in his crusade against Nazi-like racist indoctrination (CRT) in public institutions, but schools are key. It's "merely" jaw-dropping, infuriating, surreal, and humiliating that adults are subjected to this crude racist idiocy in the work-place.

It's game over that it's being intro'd into "education" (and it is). CA has an "ethnic studies" thing that is loathsome and vile and only now getting some attention because of its careless anti-Semitism.

Guess who were the most dangerous German soldiers in May 1945? The youngest ones (including of course the teens in the Volkssturm and Hitlerjugend). They had *only ever known the world the Nazis created - in their heads - through "education" and Gleichschaltung*. True believers. Obviously not a 1-1 analogy for here/now, but the basic dynamic's the same, and just as pernicious.

My last indicator for whether there was any life left in the civic body was the reaction of parents to this idiotic school closure thing (narrator: even the CDC - whose credibility on any technical matter is legitimately very low now - has advised against this from the outset).

The economic devastation - that should have been enough (but aha! "work from home" fits right into the current matrix: if it doesn't negatively affect me personally, tomorrow, it hardly exists and I don't care). The loss of basic liberties, the idiotic restrictions.

668 428 Guy Smiley,
Regarding Patrick Byrne's series, the major issue appears to be that none of the courts that had jurisdiction in the cases, neither federal or state, were willing to actually hear evidence after the election. This handicapped building a trial record for appellate success as appellate courts do not allow introduction of facts of evidence, they only answer questions of law.

Most of the existing precedent in states regarding election challenges dictate that the amount of illegal votes must exceed the margin of victory. Thus, the legal teams were going after clear examples of an illegal vote: underage voters, dead voters, out of state voters, chain of custody, and so on.

The legal teams were simply not prepared to handle data forensics of either foreign hacking, hacked reporting of results, or dominion issues at the tabulation stage such as weighted voting being turned on, adjudications, etc.

In addition, the urban counties that had this fraud were busy tiding up the crime scenes so to speak because not one court other than in Antrim ruled that the machines, logs, etc. were to be held for examination immediately upon pain of going to jail.

Most plans don't work out. It's one of the many reasons why concentrating everything into a small number of massive plans at the government level is a bad idea. Lots and lots of people doing their own plans - that is, a market - will work better on average, almost by definition.

674 I watch people playing video games on youtube. Not streaming, but "let's play" videos. Some of the guys out there are extremely entertaining. Personal favorite is JackSepticEye. He's an Irish lad (my wife loves his accent), and he is very excitable while playing games.

I once saw a comic strip where the dad was giving the son grief for watching people play video games. He then turns around to watch the football game. I thought it was pretty funny.

682 Guess who were the most dangerous German soldiers in May 1945? The youngest ones (including of course the teens in the Volkssturm and Hitlerjugend). They had *only ever known the world the Nazis created - in their heads - through "education" and Gleichschaltung*. True believers. Obviously not a 1-1 analogy for here/now, but the basic dynamic's the same, and just as pernicious.
Posted by: rhomboid at February 10, 2021 04:24 PM (OTzUX)

Rhomboid - thanks for the compliment.

I know this is happening because I'm on my town's DEI committee, and I'm seeing the wave from a distance. I'm done with the GOP at anything above the town level. I finally got involved in politics because I realize that the only elected officials that affect my day-to-day life are Planning & Zoning, and the School Board. It's high time that we as a group get reengaged at that level.

The fact that I'm black will at least give me some cover as I try to advocate against this insane policy.

I probably shouldn't even divulge this much info about myself in this environment, but I've decided to become more visible anyway. Time to stand up for myself, and for my kid.

686 Continued,
So, the legal teams focusing on illegal votes were stonewalled from court hearings by a large, the forensic teams were not able to get access except in Antrim to the machines in time to prevent wiping and shredding of the original ballots in some cases, and thus all evidence about the machines, hacking, etc. more or less comes from indirect observation and statistical patterns (statistical patterns have been held in some jurisdictions to be sufficient evidence).

As a result, the Texas case focused mainly on differences in vote counting procedures relying on Bush v. Gore and the equal protection clause. Scotus shied because of a) gutlessness, b) there was a political remedy through the vote certification and electoral college, and c) the remedy would have to be one of the following: an unprecedented revote for president in contested states, essentially throwing out every contested state's popular vote certifications, or awarding those states to Trump by negating the state certifications. Scotus was unwilling to do that because Schumer has Robert's number apparently from his little stunt one year ago with his mob.

Get this Fen - they told my folks the same shit.

Posted by: Pierre at February 10, 2021 04:43 PM (P+Keb)

689 Continued, this left the appellate teams with no trial court records and only the constitutional issue of state officials illegally usurping state legislative powers regarding elections laws for president in the subsequent appeals which is what is at stake this month at Scotus.

He doesn't do board games but enjoys solving puzzles on the internet-find this clue-that kind of thing. When he's not stimulated he gets bored. He is 21. Was on the Dean's List last semester and now thinks he may be interested in foresty.

694 We knew this was coming right?

After all the hoopla and phony claims does anyone think they'll actually fess up and tell us the truth that a mask does not lessen your chances of getting the virus enough to be worth the trouble?

So since it's not working and people have some thots they're going to double down. Literally.

Remember those stories when this started about how some doctors were concerned about the stress a mask puts on your pulmonary system? And that you could get a doctors okay to no have to wear one? I remember that.

They'll keep doing this until we all say STOP! Even then it will be iffy on whether they'll back off cause now that they've tasted the savor of ordering people to do stupid things under penalty of law is a heady drug and they're hooked.

I'm so glad I live in a very conservative small town. We go along with the mask deal in certain places but otherwise we go about as normal.

A different argument. It would make a run more difficult. A conviction would provide plausible cover for Soros Sec of States to keep Trump off the ballot, "honoring" the lawful edict of the Senate. So lotsa litigation. Time and money.

Homeschool your kids. Encourage others to do so. It's our only hope.

701 Does it mean 92% of any and all infectious particles, regardless of disease?

It has nothing to do with viruses, bacteria or germs. It says "particles" with the assumption that these particles are capable of carrying some germs that may cause infection.

It seems that the CDC is far more concerned about particles than in CoViD. The population easily conflates "infectious particles" with "SARS CoVid-2" because most people see the world as a series of univariant equations with binary results.

I'm convinced that the CDC doesn't know the first thing in how viruses spread thus have no real idea on how to stop it. The bug escaped a level 4 lab, I'm not sure how n-number of masks will perform better.

Again, its only fatal to five out of one-thousand people, and most of them already have lived beyond their natural expiration date.
