The Morning Report - 2/10/21 [J.J. Sefton]

trumpapes.jpg

Good morning, kids. Wednesday and the farcical debasement of the rule of law and any semblance of justice, political comity and fairness that were (or what we chose to believe) the hallmarks of the American way is the top story. And honestly, I could not really care less about it. About the only useful things yesterday's proceedings demonstrated were the complete immorality and criminality of the Democrat-run junta and yet more confirmation in the form of the six GOP Senators who voted to declare this sham kosher as confederates of the aforementioned tyrants now ruling the nation (for lack of a better word).

Merkin-pated louse Jamie Raskin farting out all he likes about how impeaching a private citizen and removing him from an office he no longer holds is completely constitutional does not and never will make it so. Add into the mix the doctored tapes of the "riot," the omission of PIEOTUS Trump's own words, which never once urged anyone to be anything but peaceful and respectful, and the fact that the foul fossilized Patrick Leahy is acting as both the judge and a key prosecutor in the trial and the whole thing just reeks to high heaven. Well, congratulations fools; you're about to turn Donald Trump into a cross between Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela to about 200 million very angry people. And that anger will blossom into a taste for vengeance once energy is no longer cheap, work no longer available, food no longer plentiful, and our mouths rhetorically (or otherwise) wired shut to silence our displeasure.

All of this is also sadly revelatory about where we are as a society. The last vestiges of America as founded were mortally wounded on the night of November 3rd, finished off on January 6th and cremated on January 20th. We're now at the salting-of-the-earth-where-it-once-stood-phase, not only with this but with the purging from the public square anyone and anything that dares oppose our subjugation at the hands of the globalists and ultimately the Red Chinese.

On that score, one of the more troubling actions is the complete purging of the military on the pretext of weeding out so-called "white supremacists" in the ranks. Translation, anyone who would swear allegiance to the Constitution of the nation formerly know as the United States of America and refuse to carry out any order that contravenes the letter and spirit of that document.

One of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's first actions after confirmation has been to order a "60 day stand down" to combat extremism. This follows the widespread and mostly baseless establishment fantasy that "right-wing extremists" and "white supremacists" are running rampant and pose some immediate threat to the country.

The details and definitions will ultimately determine whether this campaign is a sensible one that is in keeping with the Constitution or ends up being a purge of the overwhelmingly conservative ranks of the military. No reasonable person would object to removing dangerous and disloyal people from the service, but such a limited goal is distinct from punishing those with merely dissenting and idiosyncratic views. For example, a recent briefing among the Army's Special Forces singled out Pepe the Frog and the Gadsden Flag as signs of extremism. These popular symbols -- one an historical American flag -- are widely embraced among the mainstream Right...

... Rural, white, conservative, and Christian American men make up the bulk of America's warrior class. They predominate in dangerous combat units, and intergenerational traditions of service are common. In spite of these traditions, the message from the culture, as well as political leaders, to such people is plain: Your day is done. You will be second-class citizens. And you are suspect.

What will happen to the American military if this warrior class chooses not to serve a political regime that labels them obstacles to the goals of equity and inclusion? What will motivate them if such service becomes morally ambiguous and less supported within their own communities?...

...While all the talk of a "coming civil war" is frequently overwrought, it is undeniable that the country is wracked by partisan disagreements, and that the party in power has stated rather explicitly that it believes it is facing some kind of insurgency.

The most elementary principle of counterinsurgency is that force alone cannot succeed. A government under pressure must address the grievances of the insurgents and their communities -- i.e., win "hearts and minds." Tightening the screws as hard as possible ends up being counterproductive, as regime overreach creates new insurgents motivated by a combination of revenge and hopelessness.

An increasingly hostile ruling class, who conceive of themselves as occupying a disloyal, irredentist America, is, unfortunately, a formula for weakness abroad and conflict at home.

This is perhaps one of the more frightening developments since the rigged election and the overthrow of the government. And that's saying something because every single part of the massive Leviathan that controls our lives is being dismantled, rejiggered and put on steroids. Now that said, it seems to me that the Marxist Junta is in a real pickle with this. On one hand, the old guard greedy power mad goons like Malig-Nancy Pelosi as well as the GOP-e warmongers like Liz-Ard Cheney are in bed with the military industrial complex; they need endless wars to keep the defense contractors in the chips and donating on K-Street. But on the other, the hardcore full-on freaks of the Code Pinko set have a traditional hate on for anything and everything military.

So, if the ranks are purged of experienced and competent soldiers and officers, there still aren't enough transexual freaks looking for a headline or Shillsbury Doughboy Vindmans to take their place. Will it be the Democrats who push for a draft? That would be hilarious, were I not right now weeping for the nation formerly known as the USA.

As far as the seeds of an anti-regime insurrectionist army, there are already 200 million citizens armed with two to three times as many firearms and who knows how much ammunition. I think that that is what keeps the Enemy Junta up at night. If a cadre of purged officers like Mike Flynn were ever able to organize even a fraction of that number...

I think I just gave myself a stiffie.

My defense would have consisted exclusively of pictures and videos of bags of dicks with Xi Jianping's face pictured on it being consumed by fill ins for representatives and senators and a boom box playing, This is all bullshit, sung in Gregorian Chant, while a midget Eric SwallosWell and a midget Adam Schiff chase each other with bats made in the shape of dicks.

16 The military purge has been going on for quite some time in the officer corps. The up-or-out rules made it quite easy from 2009-2016. Anyone above the rank of major (O4) has been viewed with great suspicion by me for at least that long. This is them supposedly cleansing the enlisteds. 26 Because the DiBlasio wing of northeastern Democrats seem determined to tax stock trading, the NYSE is threatening to move out of New York. Since New Jersey is also considering a trading tax of some kind on securities trades, presumably the move will be to a southern, probably red state.

The divorce is being felt in all institutions, great and small. Pretty soon red states will start limiting Federal actions in their states.

75 The details and definitions will ultimately determine whether this campaign is a sensible one that is in keeping with the Constitution or ends up being a purge of the overwhelmingly conservative ranks of the military.

This is why we lose. Trying to sound reasonable is a loser move. Everyone knows it is a purge. Pretending it could be something else is laughable.

76 Oh look, David Hogg met with some people who gave him some Business 101 knowledge:

Hey, everyone. I just wanted to let you know an update about the pillow company. . . One thing we realized is that we're not gonna start out selling a million pillows instantly, because we want to have a focus on quality.

So what that means is that it might take us a month, it might take us two months. Maybe three, even. But we're going to make a quality pillow that people can sleep on at night and feel good about. That is made here in the United States with union labor and is sustainably sourced. . .

We might start from humble origins, but that's where giant companies end up coming from, too. Ya gotta start somewhere.

So. . . he's come to the realization it might take a whole semester to create a million-pillow sales company!! "Humble" is not the word I'd choose for that guy.

85 This racial brain-washing shit has gone way too far. Now there is a program in Seattle public schools that forces white teachers to admit that they are privileged and evil, and that the U.S. was built on the backs of the stolen labor of black slaves, and the only reason the U.S. has been prosperous and successful is because of blacks.

It's so historically illiterate that it's almost funny. At its pre-civil war height, the cotton industry accounted for around 5% of U.S. GDP. So the vast bulk of the wealth being generated in the U.S. prior to the civil war had nothing to do with slaves or slave labor. In 1860, the southern slaves states had just 10% of the wealth of the northern states. And of course, none of the wealth generated in the post-civil war U.S. was due to slave labor.

But white teachers in Seattle aren't allowed to point out the facts that contradict the ludicrous narrative that blacks are responsible for the U.S.' success and wealth. You see, it is white teachers' "lizard brains" that won't permit them to face their own inherent inferiority to blacks, according to the training.

Why any self-respecting person would sit still for this garbage is a mystery.

All sorts of auto accidents, driving under controlled substances, liens, court cases, etc. I'm 'only' in my mid 60's and of the six serious girlfriends I had in my youth half of them are dead already. This one probably to drugs, the other two to breast cancer. Sad.

I think that that is what keeps the Enemy Junta up at night. If a cadre of purged officers like Mike Flynn were ever able to organize even a fraction of that number...

Here's the thing. It is an objectively unstable situation to have the better-armed half of the citizenry ruled by an oligarchy supported by the other half of the citizenry, and when the oligarchy takes over, rather than trying to bridge the divide, it doubles down on repressing the better-armed half of the citizenry. It is a situation that cannot long persist. Here's hoping that the oligarchy recognizes at some point that "hearts and minds" is a better strategy moving forward than repression. I see no indication that wiser heads are prevailing.

In my youth, one of the locals applied for a permit to turn his farmland into another motel. The town declined, saying there were too many already (pulling up the ladder behind them!). So instead the farmer started a massive pig farm. It stunk everything up to the high heavens and made life miserable for neighbors for miles around.

There are still a few ornery old-time Vermonters around!

This will be interesting to watch as these young men make the journey from "influencer" to manufacturing. 21st century, meet 20th century! So much of the millenial and GenZ are focused on activism and influencing -- two sides of the same coin; it;s about gettng attention and persuading others (either for a cause, or paid product promotion). Manufacturing, creatung and delivering a tangible good is a huge leap.

They probably will succeed because there will be Lefty elites who ensure they don't publicly fail (the same way Hunter Biden's books sales will be amazing), but at least they will provide a social media lesson on how actually doing something is a lot harder than getting social media likes and retweets.

I've been trying to wrap my head around this phenomena for months now. Why/how were some 70% of the population brainwashed within a few months and the rest of us remain unaffected. It's not just politics. I know many (now-former) Dems who were not affected. I know many (I consider them now-former) righties who were brainwashed.

It probably is, but for second-order reasons. Here's my hot take on this, and it may well be completely insane. I think that a civil war of sorts is coming, but that it will by asymmetrical and occur at the urban/suburban (and possible suburban/exurban) interfaces and will look a lot more like the Troubles than the War Between the States. I also think that this war is unwinnable, but that external factors will be in play, and the risk of those external factors are what is keeping the junta up at night.

Someone outside will convince themselves that the time is right to strike at American power centers and knock us out of effective global affairs through inability to respond due to chaos and disunity at home. They'll be right. The war might well be ended by external actors.

Of course there were errors and wrongs along the way, because no civilization of people ever has been, or ever will be, perfect. But we built a freer, fairer, and more prosperous nation than had ever been known before, and we should be proud of that fact. We have no reason to grovel and apologize and condemn ourselves or our ancestors. It's sickening and enraging that more Americans won't stand up for themselves and for the truth.

Beg to differ with that. When CT and NY passed those new registration laws they got less than a 15% compliance rate. And the State has done nothing. CT has had a gun registration data base since 1991 and they know exactly who did not register their guns but they have not arrested a single person.

We will now give him a contract to replace every school in america. Don't worry, the $3.5 trillion was mostly development costs, with volume, the price will come down 10%, saving Americans $350 billion per school!

++++
That is absurd and if that is what comes of this then we can add "Big HVAC" to the list of domestic enemies. If they're that concerned about ventilation systems, there is a very easy solution. They make - for both residential and commercial systems - UV-based sterilizing filters that sit in the output ducting and sterilize air coming out of the heater or AC units. A few changeovers of air and airborne bacteria and viruses fall to almost preposterously low levels. The big units cost a few grand, and household-sized ones often cost under a thousand (plus labor, of course).

If this is truly a concern, there is no reason for HVAC infrastructure to be reworked. Pop in a UV filter and sterilize the air if you're that worried about it. Technology has come a long way and tight paper HEPA-type filters ain't exactly the only option anymore.

I know of few - because it's damn hard.; Free thinking means going against the crowd mostly. It means shutting up or speaking up and having few acquaintances as a result. It means constantly re-examining your own assumptions, and coming up with personally painful conclusions as a result.
Most people don't do that - they pick the crowd they want to follow, and adopt the prescribed set of views necessary to be accepted. And that's how you get the mindless lemmings that constitute most of the public. So they saw the next group they wanted accepted by - the Branch Covidians - and they adopted all the necessary slogans and customs. People are mostly fucking stupid.

Playing an investigator in the late Victorian era, you have to travel around 4 towns, defeating cultists and Shoggoths while collecting cards to seal the four gates while different Old Gods enter the game and cause effects. The seventh Old God is always Cthulhu himself. Many actions trigger a roll of insanity, and if your investigator goes insane, you end up with modified abilities.

Per the OP, I do not see anyone in the military having the desire to actually operate a drone strike against Americans. There are things like war crimes that can come back to haunt the soldier or airman executing the illegal order, but especially the person giving the illegal order, and "illegal" gets determined after the fact. I don't rule out that there could be a Kent State incident, but those always turn out to be counterproductive in terms of public opinion.

Not exactly as they see fit. They still can't sing. Or chant. And forget about saying the Lord's Prayer together. What a stupid stupid rule. And since when does the government have the right to tell people how they can conduct their own church services?

275 one could make a pretty decent argument that the northern textile mills and their wealth was built on the backs of southern slaves.

Maybe you could, if you were willing to ignore the back-breaking labor of the thousands of white immigrants, including children, who worked in those textile mills.

not going to ignore it, more pointing out that much of that happened because the north required the cheap cotton. if it's more expensive, i wonder if the north becomes the powerhouse it was. and if so many immigrants were exploited as they were. idk.

345 Charlie "Three Wives" Sykes invokes the parable of the prodigal son to explain how mature, respectable Republicans like him should treat Trump supporters. He asks "But we still have to decide: What is our attitude toward the Republicans from the Trump Era, who now have their regrets and want to come home to rationality?"

Regarding the impeachment, he say "For every Republican (except Mitt), a vote to convict is a confession; an admission that they were wrong to back Trump for so long, and to make so many concessions to his mendacity."

Ultimately "But there also has to be room for grace and pragmatism: Grace to acknowledge the possibility of redemption, and pragmatism to understand that we will very much need these people to do the right thing.

Contrition would be nice. Apologies would be more than welcome. There is more than enough time to hold Tribunals of Recrimination later."

Then he can sit down, fish some Marlboro Reds out of his skivvies, kick back and smoke and drink while laughing at the assholes. When his turn comes, he could just decline and tell them that we all know this is a farce and pointless. I'd tune in for that.

356 Blacks were not used as general slave labor, their labor was concentrated in a very few specific agrarian categories.

So this argument that, "Blacks Built America, " is bullshit.
__________________

What pisses me off is that they act like the rest of the country was sitting around twiddling their thumbs while the blacks did all the work. Only around 6% of white southerners even owned slaves. The other 94% were working their own asses off picking cotton, hoeing corn, cutting tobacco, weaving cloth, sewing clothes, shoeing horses, forging metal, building structures, etc.

I'm not saying that black slaves didn't contribute to the creation of America's wealth. Clearly they did, but it was a relatively small contribution in the overall scheme of things, and for today's SJW "activists" to claim that black slaves are solely or even chiefly responsible for the creation of America's wealth is simply ludicrous and wrong. It is a historically inaccurate lie, and the fact that it is being taught to school teachers and kids as an undeniable truth is disgusting and dangerous and wrong.

She probably lost her last election, in reality. But the Machine kicked in and pulled her sorry butt over the line."

Now if someone could decide to put some money into blue districts in Illinois, AKA "The Land of Lincoln", for candidates willing to FIGHT against the Machine, like Esther Joy King, maybe in 2022 Nancy Pelosi can be ousted from the Speaker of the House again, just like in 2010.

You can't win if you don't have a candidate in the race. And that has been a Republican failure for ever, not having candidates in many districts.

however, MRs. Burton has been in counseling and her counselor reminded her of the reasons she married me- none of them political. and so that kind of grounded reasoning helps to blunt her liberal emotional responses.
she and I are oil and vinegar. Combined, however, are most excellent with a crusty sourdough loaf.
