The Morning Report - 2/9/21 [J.J. Sefton]

lectfauc.jpg

Good morning, kids. Tuesday, and while the complete farcical distraction of impeaching and removing from office a private citizen who is no longer in office, the dismantling of our society continues with the concomitant figurative and in some cases literal clapping in irons of "we the people." Lower case, since "We The People" no longer exists in any real, meaningful way -- with the possible exception of the Second Amendment. Watered down and degraded as it might be, the fact remains that upwards of 200 million of us are armed with at least double that number in firearms and even more in ammunition and that salient fact has not been lost on the enemy junta that now rule us. G-d help them it doesn't stay lost on us. But I digress.

While the impeachment of President-in-Exile of the United States Donald Trump in purely legal terms is unconstitutional on the face of it, the fact remains that the Democrats have the power to proceed and worse, that the GOP wing of their party have no problem with going along with it. Remember now, these people are throwing around terms like "insurrection" and "treason" not only in referring to PIEOTUS Trump but blood-libeling hundreds of peaceful citizens who merely attended Black Wednesday at the Capitol and are now being actively sought for prosecution by the DOJ. Remember, too, that Kevin Clinesmith received a punishment so meaningless in relation to the gravity of his crime that it makes a wrist-slap look like a biker gang beat-down in comparison, while hundreds of BLM/Antifa thug terrorists and droogs responsible for real insurrection in the Dresdenization of several dozen cities since last June either were not prosecuted, got the same mint-on-the-pillow treatment as Clinesmith or were bailed out with funds raised by celebrities and even the nudge-nudge wink-wink "vice president" and returned to the bosom of their parents' Cheeto-dusted couch.

That's not to mention dozens of individuals who have been censored, muzzled and even fired from their jobs and blackballed for being within 10 miles of the Capitol on the day America was murdered, or posting that they too believe that the election was stolen. Never mind the fact that Time magazine just published what amounts to not only an admission that the election was indeed rigged and stolen, but is proud, brazen and boastful in its tone. To now go against the regime-approved narrative is to face retribution from the State, and worse, its enforcers who are your neighbors, co-workers and even friends and family.

Meanwhile, while that garbage is going on, another generation of children whose necks somehow miraculously escaped Kermit Gosnell's rusty scissors will grow up permanently traumatized due to the ongoing psychological warfare unleashed on us with the continued lockdowns.

Chris Buckner, the father of a young man in Illinois who committed suicide, told the media that "the teen had been battling depression the last few years, but his depression worsened significantly after COVID hit.'"

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, children's mental-health-related visits to emergency rooms are up by as much as a third, compared to 2019 figures.

In a single week in mid-March 2020, kids' lives were turned upside-down. They lost it all in short order: routine, school, friends, activities. There is no indication if or when things may return to normal, and they are now spending their days glued to Zoom school, isolated and increasingly besieged by the effects of our pandemic-mitigation efforts...

...Millions of American kids are struggling, and their chances for long-term improved mental health is predicated on the notion that we will now prioritize their emotional well-being, which our society has tragically shown it has no intention of doing.

Our hope for raising an emotionally healthy and mentally stable generation is dissipating with every day kids are kept locked in their bedrooms and out of schools. Skyrocketing rates of depression and anxiety are in no small part due to the fact that children feel neglected and forgotten, and they are not wrong to feel that way.

Our society has abandoned them and treated them as disposable. The damage caused by this abandonment is incalculable, and compounding every day we allow inertia, irrationality and the craven priorities of teachers unions to rule our decision-making.

It's cold comfort but at least they're not being exposed to the anti-American, anti-Western, racist propaganda brainwashing in the classroom. I guess we'll have to see which is more damaging to our society. Considering we have raised two generations or more who are eager to make America a massive gulag vassal state to Chinese-controlled world globalism/communism, it's a toss-up.

Meanwhile, bureaucrats whose hubris and egos are inversely proportional to their actual abilities, common sense and real expertise are socially engineering us towards a Kolyma-sized doom. Bad example. Kolyma was a mine and there will be no more mining or oil drilling.

Fauci is still insisting on masks today, masks tomorrow and masks forever while in another part of the forest, Mayor Peter Puffer is not only talking about mandatory anal swabs if you want to get on a domestic flight, but he's got that glassy-eyed dictator look in predicting that our normal routines of traveling freely are a thing of the past.

Time to say the Serenity Prayer and dwell on what I said about the Second Amendment.

9 Reminder: We're losing the battle. Bigly.

A judge has ordered Herring Networks, owner of One America News Network (OAN), to pay $250,000 in Rachel Maddow and MSNBC's legal fees following a failed defamation suit, Law&Crime reported.

U.S. District Judge Cynthia Bashant, an Obama appointee, last year dismissed Herring Networks lawsuits with prejudice, deciding there were "no set of facts that could support a claim for defamation based on Maddow's statement."

_______________

Based on initial reports that he'd been taken to the hospital after suffering what looked to be a stroke, my wild-ass guess is that Mr. Sicknick died of something like a brain aneurysm. Those can kill otherwise healthy people at any age, and leave no signs of trauma on the outside of the body. If the COD was something like that, it's understandable why they don't want the public to know. It would be completely unrelated to the Capitol protests, and there would be no way to blame Trump for it.

61 Keeping these kids out of school for a year is just a perfect illustration of the rampant idiocy and illogical insanity that's been shoveled out by dumptruck since this began. Kids do not have a risk of dying from WuFlu, that's pretty well been established. These pissy teachers should've been shoved into Hazmat suits if needed and thrown back in their classrooms. Or fired.

I feel for all kids and the anguish of being cut off from life that they're experiencing. No proms, no homecomings, no dates, no activities, no social interaction, no memories of fun with friends that we all have stored in our memory banks from younger years...and carry with us our entire lives. There are so many people I wish I could skin alive, and that's the least they deserve.

Now they're very much where we thought they would try to go, offering an olive branch to Trump supporters that are willing to denounce Trump and admit their previous error, while banishing those that enabled Trump and support him still. They think they can regain control of the party, and make it a comfortable, controlled-opposition grift. Today's article "Birth of the Never-Again Trump Movement?" says it all.

Honestly, who can blame kids for regarding their parents with complete contempt? If you must do "remote learning," do it with someone way more competent than government teachers. Anyone who sacrificed a year of their children's learning just because the government told them to is lower than cattle. At least cattle is tasty.

The people running the Warsaw Ghetto wouldn't have told Jewish children to stay in their homes all day on pain of being fined. This might be due to technological limitations, but honestly they just had a level of basic humanity completely absent in the Biden Administration.

No; I would need to do that privately, She is dealing with some tough family issues with a child right now and is under stress. I think she assumes that everybody on the Zoom call voted for Biden. I don't assume that. Also, since her churches are are in a rural part of the state with older people in her congregations I would hope that she wouldn't feel that everybody who voted for Trump is a white supremacist. I don't even know that she thinks everybody in DC was a white supremacist, but the "rioters" were.

Consulting for the VA right now.

Top priority is for everyone to read the email of how the Assistant Sec is to be addressed, how emails should be worded, how the subject line should be used, how to send her a briefing before a meeting, what font she requires, length of meeting (30 min only), etc.

I'm not making this up. This was the first introduction to the new people taking over. Follow these rule when in her presence or else.

The best part? She insists on being addressed as Doctor. She has a PhD in something like policy and procedures.

I was part of a vetting panel of senior VA personnel interviewing three applicants to be the next facility director. One was a total dud that was obviously not going to be selected. One was a female executive from our regional HQ looking for promotion, who talked all about diversity, massive spending plans, and more business as usual. The third guy was a white male who came from running a small, rural county hospital. Had great anecdotes about creative, outside the box thinking on efficiency and cost saving measures. Had taken dysfunctional and compartmentalized staff and turned them into a positive, effective team.

Yeah, they gave the insider from regional HQ the job.

No barriers of any kind will be allowed between the pedestrian lane and vehicular traffic (that would be racist). Instead, vehicular traffic on the adjoining lane will be restricted to 5MPH. 144 There was a flood at the nielsen counting room which delayed the ratings count. Also, snow in the northeast delayed some ratings, so the numbers will be a few days late. The preliminary numbers show that so far global ratings were 17,734,477,822.

Saw over at Breitbart that Biden has already signed **52** Executive Orders.

If only we had a legitimate press that would ask him to name just 5-10 of those.

There is no way he knows what he is signing, and this smacks of an Executive Branch end-run around Congress. But hey, they're too busy (and too partisan) trying to impeach the former POTUS for some BS tyranny charges to recognize the true tyranny happening now.

You know, America is a funny place. It's weird and it's in many way deranged. What this is, of course, is technocratic rationalization to impose internal passporting. Internal passporting is of course strictly unconstitutional (not that this fact matters to the powers that be) and therefore would receive some very loud pushback and be politically expensive to implement. "Disease control," though, will get them their goal with added bonuses - such as building a comprehensive DNA database of all travelers (I do not believe that these are merely tests for the Wuhan virus) and ensuring perfect facial recognition inputs.

they know that the non sheeple already know why the ratings have been delayed. And let me guess the excuse. It will be something about multiple platforms so it is more difficult to add it up.

They will get away with any number they release. It reminds me of when I used to study the Soviet Union and how manufacturers would fudge the numbers and the fudging went up the line so everyone could CYA. Who in the end is going to question them? The real customer is the advertiser really. But why would advertisers want to crap on their method of advertisement?

Because advertisement hasn't been about convincing customers to buy things for decades. It's been about hitting metrics and winning awards.

Will the ad agencies care if Neilson obviously fakes the numbers? Nope, because their contracts with their clients are based on Nielson numbers. Will the companies that pay the ad agencies care? If they haven't cared at the specious connection between ad spending and sales yet, then I don't see why they should start caring now.

And refunds of that type are often in kind, and the networks don't love that option either. To make up the difference in terms of number of eyeballs, the advertiser can often demand that their ads be run free of charge or at reduced rates until the deficit is met. This has implications on revenues for the subsequent quarter.

Not that piddly shit like revenues or profitability matters to the media cabal. There's always a bailout at the ready should they need it.

This isn't about that. Bluntly, this is about fairness. If bicycles and scooters are entitled to the road, they need to be in the system that pays for them. Fees need to be assessed. The effect is to increase congestion and make driving more miserable. I don't know if that was the *goal* of course (though I suspect it was) but it is the outcome. The nearly-universal "HOV lane" system is a prime example of how these concepts don't work.

Sidewalks are a different animal. I agree with rickb223 on this one, for whatever that's worth. They can be on the sidewalk. But if there is an entitlement to use public roads and special accommodations being made on those roads for secondary vehicles, the owners or operators of those secondary vehicles should be on the hook to help pay for them. What Boot-edge-edge is after with this is to discourage and make miserable the current preferred mode of travel to encourage and subsidize their vision of "good behavior." 184 I do believe that one of the purposes for the existence of laws is that they are binding agreements between citizens which allow us to live in proximity to each other.

The easiest example to come to mind is the law that states that when a traffic light is not working at an intersection, all drivers will treat the intersection as a four way stop.

When the law is followed, traffic does indeed continue to make progress. People approach the intersection with the understanding and expectation that all other drivers will take predictable actions.

When that law isn't followed, chaos ensues.

Bikes running amok in vehicular traffic, wit a blatant disregard for applicable laws create chaos.
Enforce the damn laws.

That is the reason for the "mileage tax" that Boot-edge-edge and various state governments (including my own) have floated. Hybrids, generally much more fuel-efficient vehicles and electric cars aren't great for tax revenue. The mileage tax is a way to deal with that. Of course, the mileage tax is also a great entry point for another layer of the government's surveillance panopticon. They won't do the easy thing - take an odometer reading at registration - to assess the tax. No, of course not. It will be an online, GPS-driven system with mobile data to enforce it. That way they get to know where you are at all times and whether you do naughty things like exceed the speed limit.

Taxes as social engineering instead of a revenue generator is a great evil, and it is the norm. It is most taxes and *all* excise taxes. Roads are designed for cars to pass over each square foot at X mph. When twenty cars back up behind a bicyclist and have to drive 5mph until they can zoom past, that road bed is subjected to disproportionate loads. That's not even counting semi trucks, btw. Just regular passenger cars.

Fucking ridiculous. The impeachment has a certain outcome (not guilty) so why waste this opportunity arguing the law when Trump's people could be using the fact to craft a narrative that shows democrats as liars and thieves they are.

Start with Officer Sicknick. Say that whatever it was he died from, it certainly wasn't what the lying MSM and democrat office holders were saying about being beaten to death with a fire extinguisher. Play it up that the story was all a coordinated made up lie that proves the dishonesty of the left. Move on to the left wing rioters who incited the crowd to break into the capital. Use a narrative that suggests these Antifa were working with democrats in congress to turn things violent.

Forget about hard facts, just make shit up as you go along. Do what democrats do and use your ability to look inside their minds and ascribe the worst motives to every circumstance and action.

There is a downside to draconian enforcement: cost-benefit analysis. This is why, for example, the death penalty for minor crimes backfires. Draconianism does have a deterrent effect, but it also means that those who are *not* deterred have freer reign to do whatever they want. If the penalty for going into a place you were let in is a sedition charge, then there's no downside to actually performing sedition. The penalty if you're caught is the same. Why bother with penny-ante shit if the penalties are the same as they are for the big bets? All such enforcement regimens do is discourage some subset from acting while encouraging the remainder (however many of them there may be) to go big.

One would think. Daughter treated a very young girl who had been sexually molested and choked by 'the boyfriend'. Mother sat in the room, filed her nails. talked on the phone and wandered down the hall looking for the vending machine. Came back to the exam room with a drink and some chips. Little girl said she was thirsty. Offered the girl nothing.

I suppose we'll never discover what that little incident was all about. PROGDA will cover that with a pillow until it doesn't move.

Grammie- well, was inspired by the ramblings of the Ewok about intermittant fasting. been doing that over a year and a half and have plateaued. Gaining more fat. Of course, my low carb lifestyle has ebbed a bit- well a lot- so that didn't help. But recently i had a physical done and wanted to see if I could get off a cholesterol and BP med.
So i read up on water fasts and watched some Jason Fung videos as well as having watched a documentary on Prime called "Fasting." It had some stupid drama moments, but on the whole everyone who has done a water fast for a length of time (greater than 3 days) has experienced mental clarity and resetting of the body. Also interested in the autophagy and helping my body kill off dead or damaged cells.
Trying to get myself in the best shape mentally and physically while we can. The bread lines are coming and by then my fasts won't be on my terms.

326 I have tried fasting a for a couple of years and still am not sure what to think about it. I know there is a tons of science, but when you strip it away, not eating is a good way to lose weight. Eating low carb can make a difference too for many, there is no question there. But also simply eating less will make a huge difference. I am well below my all time high and i have kept if off for years. But the times I lose the most weight are when I simply eat fewer calories, whether the calories are a steak or Cap'n Crunch Cereal.

I am not saying fasting doesn't work. It does work. If everything is equal such is exercise, time active, etc. But I have not seen any magical properties. But everyone is different. Hell, there are entire regions of this planet that eat mostly carbs and are are much more thin than we are.

Yours is a future of lockdowns and servitude, debt and handouts.

Also, if you're white, you're guilty of things you've never said or done. If you're non-white, you're a victim of things that have never happened to you. Just accept this as fact and work harder to be better.

No, the answer is to avoid it as long as possible.
1. the disease isn't a huge threat to most of us, and if we get it, we will recover after a few days of discomfort.
2. these vaccines have been rushed into production, and we still don't know if they are either safe or effective. I am happy to let others be my guinea pigs.
3. there is no perceived benefit to taking the vaccine; they tell us we still have wear masks and "social distance", even if vaccinated. To me, that is all but an outright admission that the vaccine is worthless.

345 We have been giving some consideration to moving a portion of our IRA into a self-directed IRA and buying commercial real estate - blood in the street etc.

Going through pros and cons, biggest con is the Americans with Disability Act. It may kill the deal altogether, but the biggest take-away is that the only way to avoid spending tens of thousands of dollars on an extremely tiny portion of your customers is to not provide as much as possible. Not public toilet access. No drinking fountains. Not public phone etc.

351 No, the answer is to avoid it as long as possible.
1. the disease isn't a huge threat to most of us, and if we get it, we will recover after a few days of discomfort.
2. these vaccines have been rushed into production, and we still don't know if they are either safe or effective. I am happy to let others be my guinea pigs.
3. there is no perceived benefit to taking the vaccine; they tell us we still have wear masks and "social distance", even if vaccinated. To me, that is all but an outright admission that the vaccine is worthless.

all good points. I am in a unique situation whereby if I get sick from it, I will be covered. That is the ONLY reason I took it- that and for my particular line of work, it will eventually be mandated by our employer. So I was in a sort of Kobayasi Maru situation.

354 As Biden's son-in-law invests in COVID-19 response, questions of family and ethics could resurface

When the boutique tech firm Yosi Health developed software aimed at streamlining the nation's coronavirus vaccine effort, CEO Hari Prasad sought help from one of its earliest investors -- a company with a special government connection.

The investor was StartUp Health, and that special connection came through its chief medical officer, Howard Krein, who is married to President Joe Biden's daughter.

Some, most are just selfish and cruel. I find "mentally ill" gets tossed around very lightly when the Horde finds something evil and damaging, when this is far from the case. The woman in Bound Brook was going through a custody dispute and killed the child. She's no more mentally ill than the guys who kill the kids to get out of payments and run off with the girlfriend.
"Mentally ill" should not be used as an insult. I spent my entire career working with the mentally ill, the vast majority of whom are not violent, and the ones who are should be locked up as they are a danger. I have also seen many, many criminals (often violent) show up in the hospital hoping to get that label in order to get away with a slap.

Thanks, because it's a slur. Mentally ill people are subject to a lot of bias and stigma. If I saw "nutcase" written in a patient's chart or in a clinical setting, I'd have taken them before the ethics committee. Anger and jealousy leading to murder are not mental disorders, but the "mentally ill" tag is coveted as a mitigating circumstance.

And I said the term was tossed around a lot during the #two week disagreements, not that you did it, and yes, it was used as a slur and a method of discrediting an argument.
