the caption on the 1st page). A general denial is, literally,
"Defendant generally denies the allegations in the complaint." The part that takes time is the affirmative defenses and I think I have only seen an attorney (besides me) properly plead affirmative defenses *once*. That's because I bothered to actually learn the law on "affirmative" defenses whereas most lawyers just do what has been passed down for eons. Most lawyers also can't properly draft affirmative defenses because they don't know the case well enough when they answer. That's no excuse.

Humility with science when they find they were wrong is such an antiquated thing, The Scientific method is just some old thing that needs to be a living document reflecting the need for numbers to match predictions, and when it doesn't obviously reality is in the wrong.

Interesting as I came across a video last night comparing browsers and mentioned how FF is built for privacy. It's more customizable than Chromium browsers as far as privacy settings and also UI. But... I've still been using Chrome/Brave. Old habits.

I switched my search page to Startpage.com
It doesn't track anything, and so far, the results seem good.
Easy to do, just download and then go to Settings in Brave and make it default.

Well, that tax would essentially mean no gains for most people's 401(k)s ever. Shit, it might even bite in to the principal. You'd essentially have to park your money in an index fund or in individual stocks for decades if you wanted any returns. And I don't know about you guys, but my 401(k) plan doesn't allow for YOLO's.

This happened twice in the last 10 years. There's always a bit of variation, this time may well be worse than the previous 2 - because the country's trajectory is worse.

Installed the new interior door panel, made from Coroplast, with a glued-on cover made of gray faux-crocodile vinyl. And installed the stereo speaker in the hole I made for it. I will have to take the panel off again, since I forgot to transfer the thin stainless-steel trim strip from the old panel to the new one. But that won't be hard.
Still looks good, and another rattle eliminated.

Ammo demand and production are at record highs. But you can still get 9mm, .45, and .223 from internet stores. Sells out quick but is replaced and is mfg constantly. 30.06 has not been replaced, however. IDK if they are making this round. .308 is also rare.
Point of Info: Both are common rounds used by rural shooters for generations. Both have 3 to 10 times the stopping power of .223 and used for distant targets.
My bourbon and I are guessing this is the elite thinking how to disarm the rurals. Cuz rurals are insurrectionists, you know. Why the WH now has to have that fence.

Pretty simple, really. The idiot Spawn and his minions have instituted a "Hotel Quarantine". Anyone arriving in the country by air has to have a negative covid test before boarding the aircraft, then get get another one upon arrival, and then stay, at their own expense, in a pre-booked "government-approved" (meaning pays kickbacks to to Liberals) hotel, for three days, and then go on to quarantine at home for another 11 days. Could cost me $2000 just to arrive home, on top of my airfare.
Fook that. I will stay here, and hope that this stupid policy gets reversed. I can legally stay here until the end of April.
Come April, if things haven't changed, I may hitch a ride back to Alberta with friends who are down here with a vehicle, and plan to go back mid-April.

Yeah, that was definitely my problem with the girl I was with throughout my 20's.
I mean, we were both making good money (well, I was making more, but she still had a good job), but she lived like we were fucking millionaires and thought it was cute or funny. She'd buy stuff and lie and say she'd had that purse for years and stuff like that. It wasn't even really about the money, it just wasn't how adults in relationships should act. Plus, I'm pretty sure (though can't prove) she was cheating on me with one of her co-workers.

I don't think they can legally stop citizens returning. The border is closed to "non-essential" entry from the other side. Americans en-route to Alaska by road can enter Canada, but are given a limited number of days to make the transit.
And, from what I have heard, the "hotel quarantine" applies only to air travelers. Which vaguely makes sense, since if you go by plane, you are stuck in a Thermos bottle with 150 other people for X number of hours. Going by road, you are either alone, or with trusted friends/family, and with limited contact with strangers at gas stops, motels, etc.

A 300 or 500 dollar beater would be cheaper than a rental car. And I have a friend here who is staying until April, too, and he is facing the same crap at the border if he returns by air. So two of us, in a beater, sharing the driving, we could be back home in 24 hours or so.
There is a storage lot in Sweetgrass, MT, right on the border, that caters to people who cannot bring a vehicle across the border for whatever reason.

I have been to Point Roberts. Used to be a popular drinking destination for college students from Vancouver. No ferry. Many Point Roberts residents have private motorboats, and use them to commute to Bellingham. Also now, many Canadians maintain a residence in Pt. Roberts for tax reasons.

All part and parcel of the customs brokerage business. Not so much about rule-bending as it is about facilitating compliance. Arrive at the border with a vehicle to export from USA, and import into Canada, and find you are lacking some critical document? Plop it into storage, carry on to home, and get the ducls aligned, then go retrieve it. Saves a lot of headaches. They also offer a UPS/Fedex receiving service for Canadians who order stuff form the USA, and don't want to pay the onerous "brokerage" fees charged by those companies. I have used that.

I don't know if anyone wants dating advice from a single guy in his 30's sitting in his apartment in a bathroom talking to strangers on the internet at 12:45 am on a work night.
That said, there's not much to it -- go on the apps (I prefer hinge), put up some good pics, including some with friends so the girls don't think you're a serial killer, and then make witty comments on girls comments or pictures, and just don't be creepy. Oh, and try to get off the app and on to texting as quickly as possible, and strike while the iron's hot.
I also recommend the "two dates in one night" method -- meet at a bar for drinks, if the dates going well, change venues with the girl. She'll be more likely to either go home with you if that's what you're looking for, or to be in the "he's a guy I'm seeing" mode over "a guy I went on one date with" mode

Yes, I think we all come to that realization at some point. I'm so much happier being single and hanging out with friends and family and doing what I want then I was in miserable relationships where I had to spend my entire week working my ass off for her to spend all of my money, then spend my weekends doing what she wanted like going shopping and eating fucking brunch and whatever.
And while I'd like to meet someone eventually, right now I'm keeping it pretty casual (unless, of course, the right girl comes along, then things are subject to change).

Massive, unsustainable demand, that is going to go away at some point, and the ammo companies do not want to invest a ton of capital to expand production, when there is a really good chance that extra equipment / personnel / factory space will end up being redundant at some point in the near future.
OTOH, ammo manufacturers probably should have overproduced during the Trump years so that they could keep up with demand when and if the next surge in demand happened since ammo has a pretty long shelf life.

Rhomboid, I'm with you on this one. It's a shame, however. Brady vs. Mahomes would be a great matchup to see. I did see end of the Super Bowl where the Giants broke up the Patriots perfect season, and that was glorious (lived in NY at the time). That said, I hit the eject button from the NFL years ago otherwise, and I've not regretted a moment. I like hearing about why people are such rabid football fans, however. That is interesting to me. That's it though.

Ammo is expensive to make and store. Where are they going to put these extra billions of rounds, and how are they going to pay for that? These companies were hurting during those years - they couldn't afford that, and even if they could, why take a huge open ended risk instead of just plodding along?
There was just no reason to do that.
On the other hand, there was every reason for *us* to get our ammo houses in order. If Trump won, the left was going to lose their shit. If Trump lost, the left was going to take their new power and still lose their shit. The current ammo situation ramped up very slowly compared to prior ammo panics - months instead of a couple of weeks - so it's not like there wasn't warning.

I think that there are certainly people who are pulling at various strings behind the scenes, often with competing interests, who know exactly what's going on.
I also think there are a lot of really uninterested / unintelligent / low information people in our institutions, many there due to nepotism and whatnot who are easily manipulated by those doing the manipulating, and they don't really care as long as they have their little fiefdom of power.

Warehouse space is not as expensive as new equipment and new employees, and they'd be raking in cash right now if they had. But you may be right, I have no idea about the financial situation regarding ammo manufacturers in the Trump era. And, hey, it's possible some did over produce and had extra ammo laying around and it all disappeared over the summer.

Yeahh, I did not buy ammo, and have almost none for the firearms I still own. Well, actually I do have none for one of my guns, and maybe 2 boxes for other. I still have some left over ammo over other guns I've owned in the past though (not in calibers that are useful to me, but whatever). Kind of wish I'd bought at least a little before prices went silly.

I think the best thing to point to in terms of the general difficulty of the business is that there *aren't* a ton of companies popping up and cranking it out.
Primers are backordered for massive-lot industrial customers well into 2022. Zero US-made primers are entering the supply chain for non-commercial customers, now.
Anything coming in from overseas... few makers have the bandwidth to account for much of US demand, and they have to clear export over there, make a boat ride over here in the face of a massive global shipping meltdown, then make it through customs, then get distributed in the face of somewhat less massive truck and rail problems.

Haven't done my "most of you made fun of me for recommending 10k rounds per shooter" thing yet this week.
About 13 or so months ago 10k round of bulk .22 could most likely be scored locally for about $300 with tax. It's about $2400 plus shipping and up now anywhere that consistently has stock.
Future lesson: having working firearms instead of clubs is more important than how much oomph that firearm is packing, as long as you can have something in reserve with some real legs and a couple hundred rounds for it.

Bridge is in Norway. Optical effect is due to telephoto compression, sucking all of the near to far elements into a much closer plane than that in which they exist in real life. In other words. The slopes and grades and curves on that bridge are normal, and only appear "extreme" in the photo, due to the effect of the lens chosen by the photographer.

Well, sorry to hear that. Not to get racial here, but I grew up in a very Jewish area and have had long term relationships with several Jewish girls, and I've definitely noticed that that there is something with Jewish parents and their high expectations of their kids that is not healthy for the development of kids. Definitely a conversation I had with my last girlfriend, who was sweet, but very insecure, when the conversation of kids came up. I was like "my parents never had high expectations for me. They said as long as you're happy, we're happy" and that has made me a much better person, I think.
On the flip side, you don't want to be the "yeah it's cool if you smoke weed in the basement when you're 14" type of parents either, so it's a balancing act.
I've noticed the same kind of stuff with some of my Asian friends. Super successful, but are very insecure about themselves.

Regarding ammo, jim and three star wars are correct. 500 rds at minimum per serious social appliance. Ok to have less for some odd pieces. Even better to have set up reloading back when supplies existed.
Target practice to save ammo advised for pistolas such as dry firing, laser trainers, or even air soft standing.

Yeah, that's basically all I do. It's really straight forward though. Basically I'm copy and pasting info in to templates all day. Really, a smart gorilla could do this. But I thought it was pretty much accepted by all lawyers that if you're going to set up a corporation, there's really no reason to set it up anywhere other than DE.
NY has similar caselaw to DE, so NY is fine, and a lot of companies in NYC want to be a "NY Corporation" for whatever reason and I don't have a good reason to say no to them.
CA is just a shit show, and they try to claim ownership of any corporation in their state, no matter where they are incorporated, so I guess CA companies say "fuck it, may as well incorporate here." I have very few CA clients though, like 90% of my clients are based in NYC or across the river in NJ.

I guess that's fair. I learned DE / NY and a bit of CA law in my New England law school business classes. So if I stayed in New England and practiced there, I wouldn't even know the local business law. There's just not a lot of case law. TX is a big enough jurisdiction where law schools there probably teach the local law. But, I have to say, DE law is incredibly clear cut, and judges are pedantic as shit which makes any dispute very easy to settle. Despite being a liberal state in every other way, their chancellery courts are probably the best model of how courts anywhere in the world should work. And NY is almost as good. The diversity jurisdiction stuff isn't a big deal, since there needs to be complete diversity. If you're a DE corp with your HQ in NY and you're sued by a NY plaintiff, typically the NY courts (either state or federal, usually SDNY) will hear the case and apply DE law, depending on our contracts. And that's not my jam, other lawyers handle that stuff.

nice! Now that I think about it, this has happened to me three times. The other time was on a major city street. There were tons of people walking on the sidewalk and I saw this cash, with nothing else there just lying there. I recall some guy saw it right before I picked it up. He must have thought "aw damn, timing is everything".
The other two times I made an effort to find out who might have dropped it but it was just cash with nothing else in all three circumstances. I turned it in one time but since I know the place, I doubt it got returned. How would anyone even go about asking if someone turned in three $20 dollar bills?
The last time I basically gave it away, passed it on to someone else to decide what to do with it. It wasn't important enough to me, I would rather there be even the slightest chance the rightful owner would get it.

IF they were to do this, a better use of the money would be to pay down the public debt. That would do more for this country, particularly the younger members of it, than anything else.

Not trying to look like I am some super nice guy, but we have to live our own way. Just yesterday I saw something that looked really fishy to me. There was an old lady at the drugstore and she was trying to by a $500 VISA gift card for cash. She was there at the counter the entire time I was in the store She seemed very confused and wasn't getting very far with the cashier.
When I checked out I told the other cashier who seemed to be a manager that something seemed off there. I told him to ask her if someone had called her and instructed her to buy the gift cards to send them money for some reason or the other. He realized what I was saying and asked her but I don't think the communication went well. The poor lady was a bit beligerant after being at checkout for ten minutes or so.

of thing but there are a lot of stores and people out there. I had a
family friend that got scammed this way and it was a sad thing.
Supposedly you are out of luck if this happens to you. Sure it could
have been legit, but something about this seemed really off to me.

She got a call and she believed it was from her grandson. She said the voice sounded like her grandson but that could have likely been projection. These evil pricks prey on elderly people and use their emotions against them. Anyway, she believed it was her Grandson calling saying he was arrested for drunk driving but if she could send him $1,500 by gift card, they would let him go. And for sure don't call mom or dad, please, please, please.
I rode with her because I was visiting at the time. I did mention it was odd that he could pay to get off, not as bail but to drop the whole thing. I wish I had put two and two together but this was before this scam became well known. Either way, she wasn't going to listen to me. Yeah, it was a scam.

thanks. Really no real way to know. I don't normally look for things like this, but it did kind of stand out. Not sure what else could have been done on my part. The lady was a bit off and you are right, it could have been totally legit and none of my business. I am glad I mentioned it though. I think I heard that some stores are on the look out for this stuff now.

nothing wrong with that. Everyone needs a break sometimes. I find cooking to be relaxing depending on the situation. If you are cooking for good friends and family, in a nice kitchen, it can be a labor of love. If it is in a shitty kitchen, and it is just you, it can get old. The main reason I like to cook these days is I have tried to much commercial food.

IIRC there WAS a military study on it where some cadets were in barracks that were carefully cleaned, they were isolated, everything was carefully controlled and social-distanced, etc. and another where the cadets just did their normal thing and didn't take any precautions whatsoever.
There was no difference in infection rates.

Norovirus - I've read of that in restaurant management material... something like only 5 particles in the air will infect a person. Rapid cleanup of vomitus is a necessity before mass infection takes hold.

One of my parishioners got a call from someone claiming to be his grandson (He knew it wasn't his grandson) and that he needed money for a lawyer. The guy said, "If you're my grandson tell me about the great trip we took a few years ago." Of course the scammer got it wrong. Then my parishioner said, "Call my son-in-law. He's wealthy. He can help you." Apparently the parishioner and the son-in-law pull each other's legs a lot.) I met the SIL and mentioned this. He said "Yes; I told the guy off and I didn't use very religious language." The guy is a great guy and plows us out for and does lawn cutting for free, but he doesn't come to church and obviously doesn't read the Bible because otherwise he's know that there's a lot of salty language in the Bible,
