Copy that - thinking the same thing. I like the colors, composition, and technique. It's not photo-realistic, but it's realistic, if that makes any sense. And I have no idea where I'd hang it if I owned it. But it's very, very well done.

Same. We got some flurries. Nothing stuck. Not even on the grass. We've had more "white" on the roofs from frost than snow.

57 I like the perspective - how you can see the water but not the coastline itself. There appear to be some "scrapes" to the right side of the tree, along the line of the white-caps. Damage ?

61 I like it. Would hang it - after carefully considering where and with what furnishings and other art.

Knee-jerk thought: Hang it alone in a medium-side room, with windows in one of the walls not facing this. Walls and ceiling all white, flooring very pale wood, and two white leather comfy chairs facing this painting. A room for contemplation.

116 Wonderful and powerful image of extreme northern climes. It is dark and frigid shown by the blue shades of paint. In all the vast scene there is only one living thing and that is weighed down by the cold. It isn't a jolly image but it is impressive. The one sign of hope is the morning sun rising to cast shadows and brighten the tree. A promise of life going on?

True Story.

They had over 80 inches of snow in New York state. They couldn't plow the roads anymore because there was nowhere to put all that snow.

They started loading train cars up with the stuff and sending it south. It melted along the way, so it was gone by the time it reached it's destination to pick up more goods to take back.

That's nice. It is needed. This works to:
- FWD, if you can't get/don't have 4WD.
- Snow tires
- Drive gently and give yourself some extra space

That's it. And I can say that if you have a modern car with stability control, FWD is damn near as stable as AWD when you pair it with snow tires. *Initial* traction is still worse, of course, but once underway modern FWD systems paired with stability control is absolutely incredible. I have managed to get my Hyundai Sonata to let go, but you have to want it to.

No traction...parked the truck, and when I slammed the door shut, the truck broke free and slid about two feet sideways before it stopped again.

Took the bag of clay cat litter that I was carrying, that I had just gone to the store to get, and sprinkled it in front of me on the sidewalk to give my feet enough traction to shuffle up the sidewalk to the apartment.

Unless they're retarded their ownership of the hedge fund doesn't give them unlimited liability. For example if Coca Cola owns a pawn shop, it'd be under a separate corporation so the pawn shop going bankrupt doesn't affect the parent company. The hedge fund investments themselves are mostly other people's money with a bit of the manager's money invested.

354 Unless they're retarded their ownership of the hedge fund doesn't give them unlimited liability. For example if Coca Cola owns a pawn shop, it'd be under a separate corporation so the pawn shop going bankrupt doesn't affect the parent company. The hedge fund investments themselves are mostly other people's money with a bit of the manager's money invested.

Absolutely. The variable - and the problem - is that involves shorts. Shorts can lose you a *lot* if you try to hang on. Citadel is hanging on. I doubt the GME squeeze will topple them because Citadel is extremely big, but if they have to start looting other parts of the business to handle the squeeze (I am sure they are doing so), things get bad. It won't end them and Citadel is not going to die because of this but I imagine there is much heartburn and a lot of capital being destroyed.

360 Citadel would be a hell of a takedown. I kinda want them to pull it off. Killing a hedge fund or three is one thing, but taking out a market maker that also operates a private exchange might actually trigger a financial crisis.

That isn't a judgement of the effort, just a statement of fact.

I'd be interested to hear that theory. I think silver's been somewhat undervalued for a long time. Not like, a yuuuge amount, but I think it's holding in the mid-teens for as long as it did was... weird.

But, I also thought that when it jacked up to 29+ and then fell off to the mid twenties last year, that it probably found it's actual price. I take it they are betting I'm wrong, and it should be even higher.

Jerry's Super Bowl season there was an ice storm. They had to bring in equipment and supplies from the Texas Panhandle to address it because it so rarely happens around these parts.
Posted by: Sponge - Saying Ashli Babbitt

When I moved to Texas back in Feb 2015, there was an ice storm starting about 50 miles out of El Paso all the way in to the DFW area (first one in ages, from what I was told). The 20 looked almost like the Highway of Death in the Gulf War. Semi trucks wrecked everywhere. Around Abilene, I started counting wrecked semis. Got up to 70+ wrecks, well before we hit Ft Worth.

Crazy shit.

I believe it's logistics. The state agency believes it's better to send-out the real plates from one or a few locations, than periodically sending every new and used car dealer in a state a stack of car plates, truck plates, and whatever other types of plates there are for other vehicle types/sub-types.

I'm starting to suspect it's not blackmail - it's a perversion that ties them all together. It's just showing itself to be entirely too common - sexual crimes again the young - to be coincidence. And too many people are content to simply make one report and then wash their hands of the whole affair.
