29 Churhill bust has been a thing for a while. Repub presidents put him in, and Dems take him out. CNN says it is about racism. Well they are the racists so they should know of it. It is long passed the time that new readers and writers learned history. It makes sense Churchill would mean nothing to them. They used the racist card so often than they should have been seen as charlatans and lost, but they didn't. I guess that is what they mean when they say if you are going to topple the King, you better win.

I forget the bust he moved, but they only have a few or maybe four in the Oval Office. They are obviously trying to make a point with the busts and Biden is doing his thing.

I recall Eisenhower had R.E. Lee as one of his four. He got some push back but not much. someone wrote him about in and Eisenhower responded in public. If you want to look it up, it is there.

I think the days of having R. E. LEE in the Oval office are long gone. But Winston Churchill? What about George Washington or any other Founding Father? Are they all to go into the ash bin of history now?

41 A few days ago I spent a couple hours with the elderly couple across the road from me. They get all their news from TV and utilize the interwebs very little. They both expressed concerns that the media is completely corrupt, BUT.... they have accepted Biden as legit POTUS because "all the courts rejected the charges of fraud." They had no idea there had been several hearing before state legislatures laying out the case for fraud. They had no idea about the video showing the same ballots being recounted. They had no idea there are hundreds of signed affidavits. I understand this is anecdotal but this is what a third party is up against. The truth must be "televised."

On a positive note I did walk away with a Ruger bolt action and Henry lever action .22.

Staff at the Jamaica Plain VA Medical Center discovered on Tuesday that a freezer had failed, compromising 1,900 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

The plug to the freezer was found to be loose after a contractor accidentally unplugged it while cleaning.

148 I wonder to what we may compare these end times we're living in? People refer to the fall of Rome, but it wasn't like this. Rome declined for centuries before invaders finally ended it. This reminds me of those stories about pagan tribes where the king converted to Christianity, and as a result, all the people automatically were told that they were Christians now. The old gods were gone, the shrines were demolished, and this is just how it was. We used to scoff at such stories - some Christians! How phony! But we're the same. The rulers have adopted a new religion of demons, and we've been told that we're now just members of this new cult. Everything we knew is over.

Rome did not fall per se. It broke up into independent city States which became the countries of Europe. It was complicated by the legions losing their source of grain from Africa which was used to "pay" them. I believe the same thing will happen to us soon. i have no clue who is still in it. Most people who care are focused on their self indulgent fantasy teams or maybe a big bet. The NFL claims to still be relevant, but we can see with our own eyes. It is noting like it used to be when people had regional pride and the games meant something.

The reality is pro sports is a business, no different than the theater or even YT movie reviewers. We once thought it was about out town and it meant a lot. I am not a prepper. But I recall someone once saying something that rang true to me. They said load up on .22 ammo and pints of JD whisky. The argument was everyone has a .22, not everyone has a .45 GAP. And although JD is not the best, it is well known and good enough. The pints are small and you can use the alcohol for more than drinking purposes if need be.

Also, those stories of people calling home and a rocket or mortar attack starting are very true. Friend was on the phone with mom and dad at oh dark 30 and charlie decided we needed a wake up call.

I don't know a damn about HAM radio. I do know I read it was heavily regulated. I would guess it is not the panacea to what is going on but I could easily be wrong about that. I would say we should bring back CB. Really it is not about the platform, but the will to say enough is enough. The Dems can shut down Ham just like the net, and even CB radio. The key is calling them out and saying enough is enough.

You can also just push the talk button and hit the repeater without talking but this is frowned upon (it's called "thunking".

293 Speaking of movies without Vermicelli-

"Meet Me in St Louis" is a surprisingly wonderful musical.

It was made in 1944, as a bit of a gift to the American people during the late dark days of the war.
It concerned a family living good American lives in the halcyon days of 1904. Their problems are small.
But, at the end, promises a better life for all around the world led by America that's not corny in the least.
It may or may not have some relevance for today.
Check it out.

But, you know, no Vermicelli.

313 Completed the forms for PPP loans for 3 of our businesses on Friday. Hundreds of billions in these programs to give too little, too late for the real engine of the economy, small business.

Big business is doing fine. Poor people don't own businesses or employ people. It's the middle class that uses their equity to fund their businesses. They risk everything, work long hours and are always the last in line to get paid.

If we're going to get the economy working again, the government needs to find a way to target substantial resources to the middle class to compensate shutting their businesses down for a year.
