The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“We are not only in the midst of a health crisis, but we are being challenged with a mental health crisis and an academic crisis,” Jesus Jara, Clark County superintendent

*

Quote II

“Your order is a direct attack on our economy, sovereignty, and our right to self-determination. Indian lands are not federal public lands.

“Any action on our lands and interests can only be taken after effective tribal consultation.” The Ute Indian Tribe

*

Quote III

“The fact that people didn’t attack me in the Presidential makes perfect sense. And to that point, I probably would be much more concerned if people were not attacking me in this race.” Former presidential candidate and current NYC mayoral candidate Andrew Yang

*

Quote IV

“I have irreversible hair loss from pulling my hair so tight,” wrote one person responding to Bass’ post. “I cut it all off years ago in an effort to prevent spreading. I wish the military would cover hair transplants to correct this…extremely insecure and self conscious about it.” Unidentified Air Force and Space Force member

*

Quote V

Their only sin was to defend classical music from spurious charges of “racism” and “white supremacy.”Attorney Michael Thad Allen

*

Quote VI

*

And finally tonight's last quote. You are warned, it is not for the faint of heart.

Quote VII

'My confidence was in tatters, but feederism has rebuilt it. I'm so happy to have found a community where being big is accepted.

'I was told by my bullies I'd never amount to anything, yet here I am, with people paying to watch me eat.'Kenna Blake, obese woman

Crazy Video: Brown Bear Chases Skier Down Resort Mountain

Unlike several videos before it, this phone footage from Romania shows a bear barreling down a snowy hill in pursuit of a skier.

“God forbid, don’t look back!” The bone-chilling warnings came from skiers aboard a chairlift at Romania’s Predeal ski resort, who watched in terror as a lone skier tried desperately to evade a bear running just yards behind, according to Ziarul de iasi (ZDI).

And the onlookers managed to catch most of the encounter on video.

I suppose his survival could be Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

When I saw the following, I thought of two things: 1. You reap what you sow. 2) LOLGF'd

Ted Wheeler, the Democrat mayor of Portland, pepper sprayed an Antifa activist in a parking after becoming afraid of catching COVID from the harasser, who originally confronted Wheeler over not wearing a mask but was not wearing one himself while the pair engaged in a heated debate over who was better at following COVID regulations.

In the police report, written by Sergeant Peter Simpson, Wheeler claimed that he was confronted by a “middle-aged white male” while leaving a bar Sunday evening.

Kurt Schlichter wants the left to play by their rules. President * is a draft dodger.

I didn’t want it to come to this, but I am compelled by my loyal adherence to the rules and norms and cultural regulations put into effect by our glorious, competent, and not-at-all-inexplicably-smug ruling caste to characterize President * as a cowardly draft dodger of cowardice.

I think it is stupid, but I am bound to these New Rules. As are you.

Say it with me: President * is a cowardly draft dodger.

Can America be salvaged politically?

Fixing 'Murica, Part Two: Salvage and Recovery

"The people who scream the loudest and most-frequently about racism, are, in fact, the real racists they are warning you about..." -- The Overlord

In Part One we took a look at the Herd of Fucktard that roams the American landscape.

This installment will concentrate on the political issues in play, but will mostly concern itself with a plan for salvaging what's left of American Republicanism, so that it may be rebuilt (we hope).

There is little point in raging against the left, in this regard, because for all intents and purposes the left cannot be fixed. It has hitched its wagons to the runaway team of horses named Critical Race Theory, Socialism, Identity Politics and Fascism. There is nothing remaining for the left to do, now that it believes it has acquired absolute power and moral authority, but to concentrate now on the historically-expected program of purges typical of all "Popular Front" leftist governments since the term "political left" was invented.

For having produced a system of multifarious "identities" (i.e. voting blocs to be bribed in return for a vote), which never seem to grow smaller in numbers but to expand exponentially, it will eventually reach a point where all of the "identities" involved cannot be mollified and in which some will be jettisoned entirely in the name of expediency. So that for every "LGBTQ...." there is a "Dreamer"; for every "Working Poor" there is a "Soccer Mom"; for every "African-American" there is another hyphenated American. The scales can never balance because the effect of leftist government is to a) restrict and reduce economic growth, resulting in a smaller "pie" to be divvied up, and b) to switch priorities according to the needs of orthodoxy and retaining power right this minute.

Not that the right has been angels in this regard, either. For they learned the lesson that identity politics can pay off, as well, and so it was that entire new categories of people and voters entered the political lexicon on the right, too: "Our Military", "First Responders", "Gold Star Families", "Evangelicals", "Small Business Owners", and the ever-popular "Reagan Democrat".

EVERYTHING IS RACIST.

The three wise monkeys have been a cultural trope throughout the world for centuries as a symbol of seeing, hearing and speaking no evil.

Academics at the University of York have decided that they could be seen as an oppressive racial stereotype, and pulled an image of the animals from their website to avoid offence.

Organisers of a forthcoming art history conference apologised for using the picture in their call for submissions. “Upon reflection, we strongly believe that our first poster is not appropriate as its iconology promulgates a longstanding visual legacy of oppression and exploits racist stereotypes,” they wrote. “We bring this to your attention, so that we may be held accountable for our actions and, in our privileges, do and be better.”

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) – Two Tampa Bay women are facing charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer after police say they stopped a car Sunday morning pretending to be Sarasota officers.

According to the Sarasota Police Department, detectives believe 28-year-old Jymieka McDowell, of Sarasota, and 39-year-old Ryshawnna Poole, of Manatee County, have done this before and are now asking any potential victim(s) to come forward.

Police say just before 1 a.m. Sunday, SPD officers responded to the 1200 block of 31st Street for a suspicious incident. The caller told officers they heard what they believed to be another SPD officer in distress.

Mom and child are doing alright. Criminal isn't. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

A bold attempt to invade a Sugar Land, Texas home early Friday morning didn’t end well for a 21-year old man, who ended up shot by a woman in the house he was targeting.

According to authorities it was around 4:30 Friday morning when 21-year old Santana Anthony Hudson tried to enter a home in the Sugar Mill neighborhood. Inside the house, a woman and her 8-year old were fast sleep, but the woman told police she woke up to the sounds of Hudson trying to get in through a back door.

She grabbed her gun and went to investigate, only to find that Hudson had broken a window and was trying to crawl inside. That’s when she fired at least one round from her handgun, striking Hudson in the chest.

67 HR1 allows for online voter registration and to print ballots at home. Then allows for ballot harvesters to pick them up and drop them off anywhere they want.

Followed up next year with another HR1 from the same Sarbanes idiot which will include AI voting, deeming that Big Tech has finally made algorithms that make "better choices than people" for selecting their rulers.

I am of the belief that there is a lot of voting by D poll workers on behalf of mrs Jane Smith who didn't show up and vote the last couple elections plus protected D classes fraudulently registering as 10 different people in places with loosey goosey registration systems. Block that crap first. Then worry about felons and non-residents voting. The illegal aliens probably don't want to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs like the D true believers do.

We yell about the "marketplace of ideas" while they are gradually shutting down every single physical avenue of communication.

Honestly if I hear this "marketplace of ideas" shit one more fucking time. It's the old GOPe bait and switch. "Be nice". "Win hearts and minds". My ass. Of course it's all a big scam. It's the soft sell because they are soft shit. Beware ANYONE who is still arguing for a "marketplace of ideas" while we very obviously being lined up against the wall.

You need someone like Trump - willing to at least SPEAK the truth. With a bullhorn. Because they have earth's loudspeakers. And they have zero trouble spreading any idea or lie they want, any minute of the day. They wait for something to happen, make it the Story, and piggyback their shit on it. They KNOW what they are waiting for.

We're not fighting for a marketplace of ideas. That's been gone since the early 70's when they got rid of lefty-friendly Richard Nixon on some bullshit and rubbed it in for the rest of our lives. On our *best* day we're fighting to bury them before they bury us. Period.

It's an experience, that's for sure. I move into my own apartment (out of my marital home) on Friday, and I've been slowly (as money allows) accumulating things that I've been chasing. I have always had an interest in straight razor shaves, and man... Definitely recommend. There's a learning curve, but wow, is it smooth.

184 Regarding:Trump - willing to at least SPEAK the truth
Random thought: Trump should do radio/podcast instead of tweets etc*
Trump is my hero. I want to support whatever his next move, whatever it is. If he wants to hang with Melania and Baron. Fine. If he wants to take over the government, fine. We need a way to communicate with him. Mostly us listening to him. I do not care to hear from the Soros funded people who wait on his every tweet to comment.
So...my suggestion is some kind of either podcast or radio show.* An hour of Rush is something like 30 MB. That is not a significant amount of data to have to host somewhere. Ideally, the audio from Trump would be sent in some kind of peer to peer way (I do not really know what that means, but I think it means there is no need for a central server).
Anyway, that was my thought today. I wish we had a way to hear DJTrumps thoughts each day. I am tired of signing up for Parler or Gab or whatever, just to hear from DJT.
It does not need to be 10 minutes, or an hour each day. It could just be a couple sentences.
*I am somewhat interested in having an excuse to own a radio, maybe shortwave? WhateverTH that is.

191 People have come to equate being noticed with success or achievement.

If that is via achievement, that's fine.

But if it need be via the carnival freak route, they will accept that too.

If they will not learn that their intrinsic value comes from a Creator that loves them, then they will seek their validation from the demons from hell who delight in their destruction.

The knowledge that your Creator is watching and weeps at your sin keeps you in check and governs your actions to be humble, merciful and dignified.

But the enemy says "Engorge yourself. Defile yourself. Demean yourself. Destroy yourself. Others will watch and you will be special."

240 I maintain that we'll have shutdowns by March, though red states may well choose to ignore it. It'll be a repeat of last year's cycle.

*2-3 weeks later*

"Glorious comrade DOCTOR Derpypants' plan is flawless, yet case numbers are still going up! Clearly you people aren't following the rules! So now, comrades, I regret to inform you that the shutdowns will now occur."

309 redridinghood you are almost certainly correct about the illegals' crime problem destined to grow.

For a combination of reasons - poor personnel at the top, the scale of the problem, the depth/breadth of the rot in "the system" ("sanctuary" cities, courts, etc), *the lack of support from the congressional GOP* (surprise!) - the criminal illegal alien disaster was only chipped away a bit under Trump.

And now that the country has decided "WTF, let's just go back to everything stupid and destructive that nobody wants or supports, because, I dunno, reasons, or something", the down-side potential is large.

One thing that would concern me about buying an N.O.S. cartridge for $300, is they talk about "elastomeric bearings" for the stylus suspension. How durable is that elastomer material over long-term storage? Tires are made from an elastomer, rubber, and they can sure go hard over decades of storage.

Which IS what I paid for mine circa 1988. As to the elastomeric bearings? The M/A cartridge is fully rebuildable, and there's a small cottage industry doing exactly that. I think it's down to one cottage in Nova Soctia or such, but it's out there.

Get this though. Put a test platter with a Square Wave signal on the turntable. Put the BEST moving magnet/coil cartridge you've ever known on the tonearm, and watch the oscilloscope trace. Ain't exactly square, looks more like a 30 degree slope up n' down the oscillations. Now put the M/A cartridge on, and repeat. That slope is now about 1.5 degrees from vertical. The term is "Rise Time", and the M/A. cart reduces it to what's pretty much Electronically Zero. You can hear the improved accuracy easily.

It is another act of intimidation by the hate-filled left-wing to wipe out and censor the exercise of free speech, as well as the ability of lawyers to defend their clients vigorously. As such, we will investigate a countersuit against them for violating these Constitutional rights."

I read several reviews, and numerous ads for this test record. They all said exactly the same thing, using the same words. None of them tried to explain how a square wave could be recorded on an LP. You could approach a square wave, and maybe even press it, but I don't see how a stylus could track it. The groove would have a physical step in it.

I can't claim any knowledge beyond which I've posted. What I can attest to, is how badly the moving magnet/coil cartridges displayed on the oscilloscope, when compared to the Micro Acoustics offering. Which, while not perfect, was a helluva lot more vertical in it's tracing than it's erstwhile peers. Backed up by a couple of decades of play in my (then) home. If anything, I'm thinking that that "step" was a super near-microscopic thing, and that the O scope settings were adjusted to a maximum read of a minimum input?

388 I can't claim any knowledge beyond which I've posted.

I am quite prepared to believe that the electret transducer has less inertia, and would therefore have better compliance and high frequency response. I just don't believe that it is physically possible to record, or reproduce, a true square wave, with zero rise time, and zero decay time, on vinyl, or any analogue medium.

Jim, that's actual latex. It's still gathered from plantations in places like West Africa. They bleed it from the trees and roll it up into giant balls that are about 2 feet across. And believe it or not, condoms are the primary market for real rubber. Gloves are probably number 2.

The M/A "wave" on the scope I saw, was about 1.5~2 degrees away from "square". I'd call that close enough for analog near-perfection?

Which matched perfectly with what M/A published in their advertising of the time. They never claimed a true Square Wave. They did claim the fastest and most compliant rise and fall times for any cartridge then on the market. My witness is that they backed up their claim.

That is probably the physical limit imposed by the geometry of the groove and off the stylus. And means that frequency response exceeds anything the record companies can put into the groove.

In this I believe you are entirely correct. And it is why with that M/A cartridge, the LPs gave CD quality sound, other than dust specs or other flaws on the platter.

I would challenge the most demanding Classical or Metal music collector to put their LPs to the test against a JVC QL-7 turntable (lab test wow/flutter/tracking error numbers "Not Measurable"), and the Micro Acoustic cartridge. They'll be in for a very pleasant surprise.

They can easily put a hard, square wave into the groove. They'll just generate it digitally, and edit it into the master and cut that track by a non-analog process machine. Might be a reverse, downward plunge cut to make the step, but doable. Remember. I was seeing this on the 'scope in the very late '80s. They had this shit down, and it WORKED.

There are some nice ones. Newer and old.
I have a Pioneer PL-L1000 here that is a sweet and lively player. They require a bit of setup once you get them reconditioned, but performance is nice for a linear tracker...though carts are limited for that arm.

Hard to go wrong with a 1200 setup for audiophile rather than DJ playback...new or old and reconditioned. They are tanks.

424 qdpsteve. I just listed the best of the pro-sumer grade turntables. JVC QL-7 or QL-7A. None better.

I had bought mine with both the S and straight tone arms. Used the straight, always. You'll have to become a turntable master to properly use one, it is a VERY user dependent machine. The only automatic processes are the auto end and tonearm lift at the disc center, and the computerized speed control, which is perfection at the laboratory spec level.

If found, BUY.

Are you from San Antonio?

My parents are from there. Dad went to Tech; mom, aunt, and uncle went to Thomas Jefferson. My cousins went to Thomas Jefferson, too.

Mom's family lived on Blanco Road.

I was born in Houston and but lived in San Antonio from age one to three. We went back every summer and Christmas. I've got good memories of the town.

479 OK, late night doldrums here, so I'm gonna ask for some medical advice here. Just prolly not listen to it.

So Jules has been on me for being an ADD type, and she's right. Hate to go on more meds, but it is an issue.

Had my telemed thing w/ a "behavriologist". She said I checked all/most of the boxes. So I'm doing a generic version of Adderall.

Anyone on something like this, it's called "D-Amphetamine Salt Combo". It seems to help already, but they did say it may make you hyper.

Well, duh, Amphetamine is in the generic name.

Both my son and a g-nephew are severely adhd. My son took it until he was close to an adult, then stopped of his own choice. It was imho not a good choice.

He is unemployable, and has been for years. The nephew has stayed with us quite a few times, and does the Jekyll/Hyde routine when on/off a time release version of adderall. While on it, he can remain still and has some concentration.

Your case sounds much less severe, and you have developed coping strategies. But if it does help, why not? Filling the new scrip every month is a PITA though. Also, I'd say experiment with it a bit. A few days on, a few off, maybe during a project that requires sustained concentration. fwiw

My first summer job in High School there was working for a textile equipment liquidator.

As all the textile mills either had closed, or were closing, they made their money acquiring ld mill equipment, and either selling the entire large machine, or in many cases, disassembling and parting out the sub assemblies.

Old warehouse, no heat, minimal lighting.

BEST alternative is its a list for future confiscation. Meanwhile - you'll have a Hell of a time taking any of those items to any range. And you'll be wide open to any pissed off neighbor, ex, or woke relative that wants to turn you in.

Unless they've already got a partial list - via all those background check forms. I filled one out for every gun. So now they've got a perfect pretext. And they don't even HAVE to raid you. Just issue a judgement. Automatic deduct from your employer and/or bank - same as tax evasion. Burden of proof on you to prove them wrong.

Watch. They won't get magazines or cash purchases - but they don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

601 More idiocy from the npr article:

Davies says that's especially true during a time when so many are in flux as the country wrestles both with the pandemic and social unrest. The questions now are whether the big jump in murders is a one-year blip and what might push that back down. Yale University Law Professor Tracey Meares says COVID-19 vaccines will help since the pandemic has prevented many anti-violence programs from operating.

See, it wasn't the violent anti-police riots across the country during the summer of 2020, where raging mobs overtook cities and sucked resources that would otherwise have been preventing crrime, it wasn;t the police pulling back to avoid a trigger for riots, it wasn;t even all of the big city Soros DAs who decided to eliminate cash bail and stopped prosecuting a lot of crimes for "equity" reasons.

Nope, it was that the COVID prevented anti-violence programs.

622 735 Donks already impeached Trump once, and this time the GOP is in on the game to a greater extent. This is to demonstrate that both sides will uphold a double standard. One for BLM/Antifa and another for the ret of us.

If Trump can be "prosecuted" for 1/6, then why are no dems prosecuted for the deaths and billions in damage caused by BLM? Instead BLM is rewarded by a plaza in DC and countless dollars raised on the ActBlue donk platform and the donks who cheered them on and literally knelt before them are blameless for the chaos and destruction. The GOP supports this standard.

More like, open the front door, point shotgun out the door, in an upward direction.

Discharge shotgun into porch roof overhang.

I don't agree with everything you or anyone else says here, but yeah, the trust the process and those brave stalwarts involved (Sessions, Barr, Rosenstein, Horowitz) was huge and being a DOJ denier bought me a lot of derision and insults that went far beyond "reeee".

I don't even agree with everything I say. Its all honest at the time - but I evolve. I'd say, at this point in time, I agree with more of the anti-corporate old school DNC than ever. But they no longer exist.

Most of what I post is verbalizing, trying to better understand the actions of two groups - Dems and Repubs - that I see as much more alike than different. And I vent. Geez - do I vent.

650 Proscribed procedure for scaring away KKK lynch mobs.
1 Go OUT front door on porch with shotgun
2. Point shotgun upward away form house/porch roof
3. Discharge
4. Shout the "Next one is for you, Trumper!" while shielding crying daughter
Just like Biden has done many times

Since wearing one mask isn't effective, and the highest paid liar in government is using the weasel word "probably", then there is also a large chance that two masks are just as effective as one or none.

We are. Barr ran the clock deliberately to affect the election and to let his friends off the hook. And they will go scot free and the trust in public institutions (mourned by meggy who just can't understand it) will fall further. Justice in the US is essentially dead. You can burn, loot, cause billions in destruction, assault people if donks determine the cause is "just" (as in just what they want) .

Barr will go down as a bad guy to both sides as will Sessions. Well-deserved.

670 Just one question: Why are we not posting Paul Joseph Watson videos on Rumble or some other free platform?

We rail and rail against the machine, and continue to use it.

Probably same goes for videos in the rest of this post. Tl;dr.

This is one more reason why after Jan 20 I have ceased to visit Any 'news' or even commentary websites loke Ace. If I don't see the link, I have no desire to click it. And my blood pressure is bad enough. Comedy 24/7 on Iheart is my new staple (and mute during anti capitalist rants.)
