Wyoming State Senator Files to Run Against Neocon NeverTrumper Liz Cheney in Primary Challenge

In a news release announcing his campaign Wednesday, the hard-line conservative state senator said he was running to oust Cheney for her vote to impeach former President Donald Trump for his role in inciting a riot at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6. "Wyoming was President Trump's best state both times he ran," Bouchard said in a statement announcing his campaign. "That's because Wyoming voters are strong conservatives who want our leaders to stand up for America, defend our freedoms, fight for our way of life and always put working people first as President Trump did." "Liz Cheney's long-time opposition to President Trump and her most recent vote for impeachment shows just how out of touch she is with Wyoming," he added. "Wyoming taxpayers need a voice in Congress who will stand up to Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats, and not give them cover. That's why I'm running for Congress."Bouchard had previously declared on FaceBook, after Cheney's impeachment vote: "I expect Never Trumpers to do this stuff. But Cheney should be run out of town, and back to Virginia for joining the blame game!" Cheney has already been censured by the Wyoming GOP for her party-flipping impeachment vote:
"By announcing her decision to vote for impeachment Representative Cheney denied President Trump due process; she judged the 'evidence' before it was presented and refused to listen to the arguments made," the Wyoming GOP said in a statement last week.Meanwhile, the House Freedom Caucus is pressuring leadership to permit a debate about stripping Cheney of her #2 leadership position.
"She did this for her own personal political gain," said Rep. Matt Rosendale. It was not a matter of conscience, the Montana freshman insisted. He told RealClearPolitics it was instead a betrayal meant "to elevate herself as one of the new leaders in the Republican Party," before pausing to add, "the 'New Republican party,' if you will." Who are these upstarts? According to Rosendale, they include those eager to put "the legacy of Trump behind them." He paused again, this time to clarify: "When I say legacy, I don't mean the legacy of the last 60 days that has been completely tainted and distorted."Purge her. But, within our own coalition, we accept the results of majority rule. If an establishment candidate wins, fine, the insurgents' supporters support the establishment candidate -- reluctantly, of course, but they still support him. And if the insurgent candidate wins, the establishment is required to accept the will of the majority and support that candidate. Again, reluctantly, but again, they still must support their coalition partners. As many commenters always -- rightly -- point out: We're always accepting the need to put internal party fights aside at the general election, and we always wind up voting for the Shit Sandwich we opposed, based on the promise that if and when our guy ever wins, the Establishment Corporatist Neocons will support our guy. But this promise is a lie. They never do support our guy. This is entirely a one-sided "partnership," where we have endless obligations to the self-declared "elite" and they have none whatsoever to us. The Rockefeller Republicans, the "Kennebunkport Konservatives" of the liberal Yankee Bush wing, the corporate-humping establishment Never -- N E V E R -- accept the basic premise of coalition politics that sometimes, your interparty rivals will win an interparty dispute, and you are obligated to accept their win. They never, ever respect an insurgent. They immediately begin scheming with Democrats to delegitimize that insurgent. They work with Democrats and the Deep State to enact a coup against him. In the case of Richard Mourdock, a Tea-Party aligned insurgent candidate who beat ancient establishment liberal fossil Richard Lugar, they actually endorse the Democrat in order to prevent their rival from winning. The Establishment wing of the GOP, and the grotesque corporate-sponsored "conservative" media that acts as its heralds, have now supported Democrats in the general election three cycles in a row -- 2016, 2018, and 2020. Some have done so overtly; most were too cowardly and dishonest to flatly state they were supporting the Democrat, so they did so by a thousand cuts. But support the Democrats they did. Because someone Not of the Corporate Body won an election. This is not, then, actual "coalition" politics, because one side of the coalition absolutely refuses the right of the other parts of the coalition to have any political voice at all. Any power given to the Establishment Neocon wing is just more power you're giving them for the next time you challenge them, and they decide, as is their standard operating procedure, to use the power you've given them to help the Democrats win and defeat your right to participate in representative politics at all.

"The reality is she's not representing the conference," he said in a Fox News interview. "She's not representing the Republican ideals." She was "out there advocating for others to join her in impeachment," he said. "That's wrong, and I think she should resign."
They are not allies. They are not coalition "partners." They aim to rule us, and if they cannot do so themselves, they will ally with the Democrats to make sure that the Democrats rule us. But make no mistake: No matter how it shakes out, the Establishment Corporate Neocons intend that you shall be ruled, by one master or another. They must be purged. They must be purged, or we must form our own party. 4ward with honor.
A good question to ask Liz Cheney: Any real conservative in a media job should ask her, "If your Trump-supporting primary opponent beats you, will you respect the will of the voters and support him?" She'll hem and haw. They never do support any Republican from the Republican Wing of the Republican Party. Only fellow Kennebunkport "Konservatives."

OK, I'm 77, and several years ago I had a stroke that hit the visual part of my brain. I am fine to the right, but have little or no peripheral vision to the left. That wasn't too significant until my husband died, because he did all the driving. But now I'm thinking it might be best to give up my driver's license, despite the loss of freedom.
This town has a couple of taxi services, and my youngest sister seems willing to take me anywhere I want to go. I don't want to be a burden on her, but I also don't want to be a hazard to anyone on the road around me.

I like the idea of a new party. While there may be advantages of trying to reform the GOP into what WE want it to be, it'll never happen. Start with a clean slate. Start taking state seats. Start getting House seats. When there are enough of the new party's elected representatives, and even though we may not (yet) have a majority of the House or Senate, they will NEED our support. Coalition style government. I honestly thing that this would be the only (peaceful) way to save our great country.

I don't think this is possible. They always flip to the Democrats to beat us. There is no point being "in" a party with them when they see themselves as "floaters" between the parties.

They are almost autonomous in many regards. Blind spot monitors and lane-keep assist, automatic braking, all run by sensors.
If you can afford a new car and have someone help set up the safety features specifically for you, you can retain your independence for a few more years.

To take the GOP over would involve essentially setting up a completely separate sect within the GOP and then attriting the GOPers and swamp rats over time.
This sect would need it's own funding, inner and outer party apparatus, etc. and wall itself off from the parent GOP.
That's a lot of time and wasted effort and what will happen to that sect is is what happened to the last attempt at a sect.

Restoring integrity to the election process is possible, but very difficult. OH and FL did it, apparently - and look, the two biggest "battlegrounds" of the last political generation were taken off the map, on the presidential level.
The pathetic failure in WI MI PA AZ this cycle, and the de facto acceptance of massive, histrionic illegality in the process by state and federal courts, make me pessimistic. NC may be another problem state, not sure. It was absurdly close this time - impossible to believe Trump didn't win it by a comfortable margin.

The good news about swing states is that the GOP often holds considerable power at the state level. And your vote matters much more for your state rep than anyone on the federal ballot.
It's up to GOP voters in every state - but especially in swing states - to force their representatives to lock down the election systems so that fraud is impossible. We've got a window here to do it, given that the Supreme Court is unlikely to strike down state-level election reforms.

I think I've said before that, prior to 2016, I read an article on a "conservative" magazine which stated that Socialism had won and that the right should spend the next twenty years arguing that they were better managers of big government. The author was Matthew Continetti. I'm pretty sure that he got that argument from his father-in-law, Bill Kristol, and that it's actually the common view among the GOPe. Trump never took over anything. He was neutralized from day 1. His own party would not recess the Senate lest he have recess appointments. The executive branch thwarted him at every turn. His executive orders will be undone. His only lasting achievement will be in the courts, which was allowed because it is what McConnell wanted done.

If you can't or won't get up from the table and walk away, and the other side knows so, you are going to be bent over that table. You can't be the boss when literally everyone you hire is working to undermine you. And for some government positions, you can't just hire anyone because the laws and regulations are so convoluted and difficult to understand, you need someone with experience who knows what it means. I had to read Title 10 concerning my military retirement pay, and it took 3 hours of research to gain a basic understanding of how the law applies to my particular situation. Laws are written in the worst legalese imaginable for a reason.

In Germany they started a party that is basically "Germany First"
the AfD, mainly hoping to stem the flood of immigration and get Germany
out of the EU. The 3 other main parties (center to left) all
consistently work together to stop the AfD no matter what. It's the one
thing that unites the other parties -- globalism first. And of course
their media helps calling the AfD racist and extreme at every chance.
And that's in a parliamentary system, where smaller parties have a
chance.
I doubt a new party could even get as far as that. The dems and GOP would work
together to stop an America First party at all costs, with the media and
social media helping them along the way.

OK, I'm 77, and several years ago I had a stroke that hit the visual part of my brain. I am fine to the right, but have little or no peripheral vision to the left. That wasn't too significant until my husband died, because he did all the driving. But now I'm thinking it might be best to give up my driver's license, despite the loss of freedom.
This town has a couple of taxi services, and my youngest sister seems willing to take me anywhere I want to go. I don't want to be a burden on her, but I also don't want to be a hazard to anyone on the road around me.

How long have these scare stories been around? I remember them well from the early Tea Party days, when Republicans were panic-stricken at the threat of a new party arising. "No! Don't do it! That'll hand the Democrats a majority for YEARS! Be smart - take over the GOP instead!" How well did that plan work?
I can't remember if the same argument arose when Perot ran for president, but just think - that was almost 30 years ago. Over a generation. Interesting point, but Bush served two terms, so he is pretty much not in the game anymore. And the left *hated* him while he was in office. But as soon as he left, the noise they made about impeaching him for war crimes etc. etc. etc. just faded away, and the "strange new respect" was found.
But, Trump only served one term. He is eligible to run again, so they consider him a threat still. Hence the destroy him via impeachment after he leaves office will be a big goal of the left.

You might check with the therapy departments at your local health systems. Some have Driver evaluation programs where they can put you in a driver simulator and give you a recommendation.

So many on other boards have announced they'll refuse to vote Republican again. And I don't blame them. I mean why is Cheney still in office at this point? You attack your party's leader and you still have your position? That's what's wrong with the GOP.
And notice, none of the other 9 traitors, or the 80 or so who voted to certify are facing any discipline whatsoever. Add this to Pence and Cocaine Mitch's betrayals, and there's no reason for us to vote for them anymore. They've never come through on our priorities. 50 years of Roe V Wade. Now a decade of Obamacare. And no action.
If Trump starts a 3rd party, and I pray he does, it'll kill the zombie GOP once and for all.

Activating the Republican coalition to win elections is like launching nuclear missiles: all coalition parties have to turn their key. The GOPe/neocons refused to turn their key for Trump. We won without them, because we're by far the biggest segment of the coalition, but they nonetheless were able to use their undue influence to tank Trump's presidency. Well, now it's our turn to withhold consent. I refuse to turn the key for any neocons, RINOs, or GOPe trash. Not anymore. Not ever again.
