They are like land piranhas.
The other animal I didn't know was a badass killing machine were Kimodo dragons.

I always thought "supper" was the evening meal and "dinner" was "the largest meal" whenever you eat it. For many then, "lunch" would be "dinner" and "dinner" would be "supper".

As far as moving files, can you connect to a computer and transfer, then connect new phone and transfer from computer to phone? I connected my Android phone and it sees it as storage so I can move files around. Not sure about an iPhone.

Growing up, if we had red meat between Dec and about March it was usually deer. But my Irish mother cooked all meat to shoe leather so I never new deer could taste really good until I was on my own and learned to keep it on the rare side.

Dinner used to be the big meal of the day, often served mid day on farms, so you would have energy to complete all the work.
Supper was a smaller meal later.
But City Folk started having their big meal when Dad got home from work, so that became Dinner.
Learned that from my Depression era Grandpa, who still ran a chicken ranch when I was growing up.

Just watched a couple of episodes of Real Terror, hosted by Robert Englund. The conceit is that the show trawls through old newspaper stories to find instances of the supernatural, demonic or terrifying and recreates them for your viewing pleasure.
Fairly decent production values, even if I know some of the stories are obviously discredited "urban legends" (like the girl who dreams of a man beckoning her into an elevator, saying 'your turn next,' and then one day seeing the man for real and stepping off the elevator before it crashes.
There was one story about a Kansas blood-drinking cult, "The Samaritans," which reinforced my urge to write a straight-out Theda Bara horror story, if I can just find a plot.

As far as moving files, can you connect to a computer and transfer, then connect new phone and transfer from computer to phone? I connected my Android phone and it sees it as storage so I can move files around. Not sure about an iPhone.

There is some freeware to handle that in Linux. If you do not care to install it, you make a live (bootable) dvd, usb, or external harddrive, change your boot sequence to that device and use that. It is best to include the partitioning and cloning software and roll that into the live dvd/usb/drive.
You might want to check out lineage os which is a open source fork of Android that has been de googled. The builds ARE device specific so you would have to know the brand and make of your phone and best to have it jailbroke or unlocked before you try the install.

Ok, best to put the data on the extra flash anyway into folders that follow regular locations for android files of that sort. You will have to manually configure your apps though to find those storage folders which may mean command line/terminal app time to tweak settings.
If you still have a Barnes and Noble around, they make basically comic book type how to mags and in your case it is how to configure specific apps to recognize your moved data. You may need a file converter app for some of that depending on the media file extensions.

My back has been hurting... A lot. The chair I sit in is the problem. Its old enough that its lumbar support is breaking down. Found a stretch that says it will help this back ache. I was sceptical. Tried it and it was holy shit painful. Did it anyway and tried to hold it for at least 2 minutes. Tapped out before the 2 minute mark. Oddly enough, my back stopped hurting so much. Minor ache but still serious relief. Adjusted my posture also. Weird. Fast forward.... Haven't done the stretch again. Tonight, the back ache returned. Tried the stretch again and boom! It wasn't as painful and I was able to hold for the 2 minutes. Now the pain has diminished substantially. I'm thinking I might have to do this stretch daily unti!l I get a new chair.

If you want a laptop, Asus is built in Taiwan, and makes the best mother boards on the planet. Acer is also Taiwan based. Good stuff. And, you don't need to use windows if you don't want, Linux is getting easier and easier, and can run in parallel with your windows apps. Remember, if you hop platforms you throw away your software.

The major issue with linux is a lot of times you will have to install 'non-free' codecs from a repository. This is especially true for media files. Did you include synaptic in your desktop build? You can have it dig up the files or go command line/terminal with apt get etc. to add them.
And you are probably using debian for the underlying repository for your Mint machine I am guessing.

Supper is a always an evening meal.
Lunch is always a midday meal.
Dinner is the confusing one. Sunday, Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving dinners are midday meals. However going "out for dinner" or "dinner reservations" are an evening affair. No body goes out for a supper date.... Its a dinner date.

Outside of like TV shows, I've never heard anyone use the word supper.
In New England, we have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and our holiday meals are usually a little earlier then normal dinner, but not by much. Like pull the turkey out at 3:30-4pm, eat around 5ish.
I think the supper / dinner thing is just a regional difference.

Just watched a couple of episodes of Real Terror, hosted by Robert Englund. The conceit is that the show trawls through old newspaper stories to find instances of the supernatural, demonic or terrifying and recreates them for your viewing pleasure.
Fairly decent production values, even if I know some of the stories are obviously discredited "urban legends" (like the girl who dreams of a man beckoning her into an elevator, saying 'your turn next,' and then one day seeing the man for real and stepping off the elevator before it crashes.
There was one story about a Kansas blood-drinking cult, "The Samaritans," which reinforced my urge to write a straight-out Theda Bara horror story, if I can just find a plot.

They pissed the fuck out of me when they sold one of my "desirable" domains. The card I had on file had expired, and they didn't send me a warning email 100 times like they do every other fucking time something like that happens. They sent a vague "account needs attention" like they do every other time they want me to sign up for something new. I have like a dozen plus domains, hosting etc.
Fuckers just wanted to sell it, and I had zero recourse, even though it had barely been 7 days that I contacted them. Do NOT use Godaddy. That's just ONE story. I got more.

I'm the same, only I'm retired and don't need to go out to work. I'm at home with my husband and my 2 grown autistic kids, and I haven't been to anyone else's home in over 5 years. Bringing up handicapped kids is isolating in itself, so this lockdown has not been much of a hardship at all.
I find the rigmarole attending going out anywhere far more wearing than being at home. If I didn't have to go out to buy food, I'd happily stay at home with my books, plants, sewing machines and computers and never worry about participating in society in person at all.

Which time? I read an article on it and apparently Cosell had said it at least 2 times before over the years.

My favorite MNF thing was waaay back, probably mid-70s, a game in Houston at the Dome where the Oilers were getting completely annihilated. Crowd had thinned out, think it was 2nd half.
Roving camera guy focuses in on one fan in a 2/3 empty section, who's draped his legs over the seat-back in front of him, just lounging. He notices the camera, and very casually just gives the one-finger salute to the national audience. Director didn't cut away as quickly as usual, image was up for a few seconds.
Dead air. Then Dandy Don: "we're number one, folks".

During the first half of the September 5, 1983 Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, Howard Cosell's commentary on Garrett included "That little monkey gets loose doesn't he?" Cosell's references to Garrett as a "little monkey," ignited a racial controversy that laid the groundwork for Cosell's departure from MNF at the end of the 1983 season.
"I liked Howard Cosell," Garrett said. "I didn't feel that it was a demeaning statement." [1]
Cosell explained that Garrett's small stature, and not his race, was the basis for his comment, citing the fact that he had used the term to describe his own grandchildren.
Among other evidence to support Cosell's claim is video footage of a 1972 preseason game between the New York Giants and the Kansas City Chiefs that features Cosell referring to athlete Mike Adam
