Are you ready for the return of failure theater?

That's what they like. Lofty speeches coupled by impotence. They took 2017-2019 and threw it in the garbage and retired to cushy jobs where they could continue mouthing off and kneecapping people who did want reforms.

"Turns out the right wing billionaires would have been better off investing in creating alternatives to media and payment processing companies instead of burning money in useless neocon think tanks." --Alvaro Molina

Idiots who like to call Trump a 'dictator' are missing the obvious: a dictator can't be censored. Whoever is doing the censoring, *that's* the dictator.

When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar, you're only telling the world that you fear what he might say. -- George R.R. Martin

I thoroughly approve of Donald Trump getting his tongue torn out to shut him up -- George R.R. Martin (probably)

57 For those asking about AWS breaking their contract with Parler, I would guess that somewhere in the agreement AWS gave themselves a termination right if Parler allowed speech they deemed to be inciting violence, or hate or whatever. Parler being the party with no leverage probably had to agree to the contract as-is, and they just needed the service.

Now AWS is using the alleged events of 1/6 to pull the plug, just like all the tech companies are. The "violent speech = speech I don't like" crap is how the left operates, after all.

As far as I'm concerned the GOP ceased being a legitimate political party in 2006.

They are not the answer to any of the problems we face.

slopes as everybody has to wear a mask everywhere and it was being enforced. Also snack bar
closed, except for some machines and chairs removed from seating area. If
you had your own food you had to eat outside, in the cold.

146 Man fears death and persecution because they understand intrinsically, if not consciously, that they are deserving of both. So the labor in vain, setting about to forestall both, seeking shelter where they may to avoid the inevitable. But no matter how far they run, how well they hide, whatever plans they make, it is always coming and it will eventually find them. When it does, they will cry out in despair And seek someone to save them from their turmoil.

You are blessed if you face death and persecution with the full knowledge that there is an intercessor and a savior that cares about you greatly, above all things ever created actually, individually, and has the power to remove all affliction of the world and to trample death to death and lift you from all tragedy and finality and give you everlasting peace.

It is only in this knowledge that you can have any hope and live out your days without the constant dread of the impending doom of the temporal world. It is liberty. It is freedom. It will set loose your spirit such that you can fully realize all the talents and glory of your creation upon the world as a testimony and joy to He that created you.

Hello? The whole point of the CEO is to plaster on fake smiles and blather on in bloviating platitudes to appease the government so-called "regulators".

Once, just once, I'd like to see the actual engineers behind these actions. Just like the trans-furry on occupied land who made the vaccine distribution fake models. Give he/she/xhe 24 hours to fly to Congress so there's no pre-game huddle, and if he/she/xhe doesn't comply, arrest both the perpetrator and the CEO for interfering with a federal investigation.

189 Former Obama senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said that Wednesday's U.S. Capitol riots were a worse "security failure" than the 9/11 terror attacks.
_______________

Thousands of innocent people died on 9/11, thousands more were injured, dozens of buildings were destroyed, and many billions of dollars in damage was done to our economy.

Compare to 1/6, when a few dozen yahoos ran through the Capitol building and nobody died (except one of the trespassers, who was shot by a trigger-happy cop), no buildings were destroyed, and no damage was done to the economy.

The idiotic hyperbole around this event is off the charts.

190 You are blessed if you face death and persecution with the full knowledge that there is an intercessor and a savior that cares about you greatly, above all things ever created actually, individually, and has the power to remove all affliction of the world and to trample death to death and lift you from all tragedy and finality and give you everlasting peace.

It is only in this knowledge that you can have any hope and live out your days without the constant dread of the impending doom of the temporal world. It is liberty. It is freedom. It will set loose your spirit such that you can fully realize all the talents and glory of your creation upon the world as a testimony and joy to He that created you.

This was one of the "news" items that gobsmacked me when I got back. He EMPHASIZED -- TWICE -- that we walk peacefully down Constitution Avenue to Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol building. We walked, we stood on the steps and chanted, and left. I don't know who got into the building and when and from what access point -- the front steps, back steps, elsewhere? It was literally news to me, and I was there. I suppose I could find out all these things by tuning in to some news, but I'd prefer staying sane.

285 One of the hardest things to break to people is that most things are not all or nothing.

Most things in life are probabilistic where at points things can go either way which is why short range predictions are more accurate than long range. For example, you can get good information from a biased news source as almost all lies have some facts in them in order to build a credible lie. But it is probabilistic exercise where you have the weigh which parts of an article or speech are rhetoric, which is false, and which parts are true.

Most people find that tedious and either reject all of a story or accept all of it at face value because the brain is wired to take short cuts. Journalists, like attorneys in trial practice or even police, have a certain number of facts to assemble an explanation of an event and due to the nature of their jobs do what is accepted as good enough in their culture. Government does the same as there is always a new story, always a new trial, always a new case, and always crisis to deal with. So people take shortcuts (stereotypes if you will) based on their prior experiences.

In terms of the movies, you should be able to connect Prime to Movies Anywhere and get most (probably not all) of those licenses moved there. I'm not entirely sure what will happen if you cancel the Amazon account, though. I've read that the movies will stay with Movies Anywhere even after you cancel Prime.

But, really, if you're just accessing your content without buying anymore, you're costing Amazon more than if you just left since they need to use those fractions of a penny processing power to give you content without you paying for anything new.

Even with defensive weapons, the number of women shot and killed by cops was under 40.

Yes. And since my entire history with the press, government, marketing departments, universities and various other institutions over the past decade or so (generously - it is probably much longer) sums to "they hate you and lie all the time," I reject them entirely. Sure there may be nuggets of truth in with the lies, and I am to some degree throwing the baby out with the water. But the pendulum has swung so far toward hatefulness and deceit that it is not longer worth my time to try to differentiate.

Remember last week, there was a video in the sidebar of some nutty Florida woman who ran out of her house with a knife when a policewoman rang the bell? She cut the officer, refused to put down the knife, and was only shot when she actually lunged at another cop after being ordered repeatedly to drop the weapon. They STILL didn't kill her, despite all the mayhem she'd caused. But an unarmed woman in a hallway - bang. Game over.

And that Biden has been using his public offices to illegally sell favors and influence for secret, under-the-table multi-million-dollar payments (made to his son, brother, and other family members) for decades?

And Biden was nearly thrown out of law school for copying several pages of a law review article and trying to pass it off as his own work. And he famously plagiarized the speech of a Welsh politician back in the 1980's and tried to claim that guy's personal history as his own.

And Biden is a chronic liar, serial molester of women and girls, and general pervert who would prance around naked in front of his female SS agents when he was VP.

423 331 Joe,
I can understand that position. But I grew up in an era with a lot of Soviet and other leftist propaganda was disseminated and you could still read between the lines and figure out some basic facts that could be cross verified elsewhere. For example, BRC Coffee, I always suspect hanky panky when a for-profit or ngo tries to use emotional appeals to buy their product or donate. Con artists are among the smartest people that commit crimes because they understand how to manipulate people and con artists in business that aim for emotions get enough suckers to finance their scams. But mere suspicion is not enough, a few facts like who owns them, what do they say, where do they get their financing, who is shilling them, etc. It was easy to see that the whole rifle thing was a gimmick to get people to buy high priced coffee and some shadowboxing at the worst of the left made a lot of people trust them during an era where our veterans were making heavy sacrifices. Conservatives wanted to believe in a stalwart champion and made the guys running the place rich. That is the story of Conservative, Inc.--a manipulative network of people that take advantage of high trust people.

Fair point, and also likely why Conservative. Inc. is failing so badly. There are still high trust people and there always will be, but the society isn't any longer. It can't scale, because they broke it. In my life time we have gone from at *least* a moderate-trust society to what is now approaching a zero-trust society, at least on one side.

And that may be the greatest differentiator between the sides. One side - we can call them the Left or Wine Moms or Karens or whatever - has trust in various institutions. The other side - my side - does not. We are devolving into a zero-trust structure or a bifurcated structure where one side trusts implicitly and the other side distrusts explicitly.

Either of those are very bad things, but when trust is shattered it becomes inevitable.

474 So, how long does it take for a shipping vessel to go from Australia to America?

I have a package that I assume it being shipped by sea and it left Melbourne on the 22nd of December, but no update since. Just curious how long it's supposed to take.

Easily three weeks. We used to ship product from Houston to China and I had roughly 30 days to get the information loaded into their portal before the ship got there, product got thru customs and they took possession.

Raheem Kassam summed up the current state of events perfectly.

The situation will not be changing in a couple of weeks, no, only getting more desperate and un-American.

And then when a few have had enough and start speaking up, the Kabal of Progda, Democrats, and Karens will turn against them and either arrest them or disappear them.

This is what an undeclared war against 21st century Americans looks like. Decisions are coming for each and every American, and soon.

You're probably right, boat and I'd guess the other commenter is correct... don't expect it soon.

The longest *stuff* has taken to get to Dunedin N.Z. is 3 weeks (got trapped going back and forth between US airports, was very weird) except for the time we put in a wood carving. That carving was exposed to some serious 'treatments' to make sure it and anything on/in it was dead, dead, dead.

501 I used to own a micro-roasting coffee company and got spoiled drinking great coffees as often as I wanted.

Now, my first go to, for both taste and price, is the Costco 3 pound Colombian, in the silver bag with black lettering.

Any coffee gets stale, and stale coffee is like stale bread. Yuk.
Costco sells a boatload of their house Colombian (Kirkland) and so it rotates through it's stock quickly and regularly.
And unlike loose beans in a grocery store, the freshly roasted beans are packed and sealed within hours of roasting, in a special coffee bag with a one-way valve, to let the carbon degassing continue and keeps the oxygen out for months. Oxygen in the air is what makes coffee stale.
The other alternative for freshly roasted beans is to find a local roaster and know which days they roast, and if they sell those new-day beans, or do they rotate their stock.
But you will pay about double as the Costco Colombian.

508 I keep seeing a lot of "THIS WILL LEAD TO DECENTRALIZATION!" but that seems like wishcasting to me. The only Boomer Right I've seen on the fedi so far as been Thomas Wictor when he started social.quodverum.com and then Gab after it federated. The problem is that decentralization, regardless of being far more secure and difficult for the Big Tech oligarchs to quash, is that it lacks the Apple-style dumbing down that normies have come to expect. So they flock to places like Parler which, as we've seen, are much easier for them to take down.

The only way we're going to be able to have even a fighting chance at knocking the oligarchs out of their seats is to decentralize...but I'm not confident normies are up to the task. Once more, it's going to fall to 4channers to meme us into any meaningful change.

PS - remember a few years ago on Ace, when the topic of "Who goes Nazi?" came up? Well, lucky us, we get to see it right now in real life. Be sure to take notes. If/ when we get back to some kind of normalcy, THOSE PEOPLE MUST *NEVER* BE ALLOWED POWER OF ANY KIND. EVER AGAIN.
