56 Oh, I like this. The link says 1893, but I'm guessing the period is somewhere in the 1780s or so.

Is the fellow in the boat her lover or a trusted servant ferrying her to the elopement spot? Is she sorry to leave, or saying to herself, "So long, stinktown!"

I wish I were the fellow in the boat. Or the girl. Or anyone but myself.

72 The little details like how the boat doesn't displace any water are the tell. You have to keep an eye out for the things like that. Easy enough to overlook, but the Overseers don't see things the way we do. Dead giveaway that you're not in the old fashioned unengineered reality. The trick is how to find your way back without letting on that you know it's a fabrication.

95 Part of the effectiveness of the painting is the look of regret or sadness that she must leave her family behind and didn't have their support for her choice of a husband. Yes, it's the first step of a happy life (she hopes) but not unalloyed. And all the focus is on the women. The man is a generic figure without a face to influence the viewer.

Get a Free Tibet when you purchase a Tibet of equal or greater value.

Tibet was a lost cause a long time ago. The Chinese built a railroad line up into Tibet, and it is being "colonized" by Han Chinese. Soon, it will be a Chinese majority country.
To a lot of Chinese that are nominally Buddhist, going there is like a visit to Disneyland.

300 Who would be interested in watching the Harlem Globetrotters play without the Washington Generals to beat up on? Would they fill Madison Square Garden?
Would they fill the seats at a good sized high school?

The only reason the show works is that the audience suspends disbelief for the sake of entertainment. Movie audiences do the same for that short period when actually in the theater, when the beleaguered hero somehow finds a way to beat the omnipotent villians at the last moment. These morality plays require suspension of disbelief to make them work.

So the question becomes, what would happen in our country without a second political party? 1/2

333 2/2 Who would the existing party blame for not doing the People's Work* at that point? Seems that one of the reasons our system got away from us is that ability to finger point at the so-called enemy, and say they are the reason X didn't get done.
Now some would surmise that if an enemy didn't exist they'd simply make one up, Goldstein-style, and that might be true.
Let me cut to the quick here; at least in feudal times or under any dictatorial power, you knew who had to die to restore freedom. If the monarchy is evil, overthrow the king. There is no other source of power, and in that sense it is easier to focus on what exactly needs to change to move in the direction you wish to go.
Our system is corrupt to the core, our "leaders" laugh at our gullibility, we're played for fools and so far they're right.
One of the two Parties has to go for there to be clarity.

406 Are you being manipulated by the media?

Two Danish photographers conducted a project in which they wanted to prove to people that manipulating imagines and reality can be very easy, and it is done to us daily.

Ólafur Steinar Gestsson and Philip Davali, are two Copenhagen-based photographers who went on the street and photographed people waiting outside stores, respecting the measures of social distancing.

But by using different perspectives, the queue quickly turned into a crowd and it looked like people were forming illegal crowds in times of the COVID pandemic.

Their trick was to use two different perspectives - a wide angle and a telephoto lens.

460 Word is the DOJ and DHS have been told to stand down. That President Trump himself has had to call agents on the ground asking them to continue. If you think they should continue, retweet to let
@TheJusticeDept
know your feelings.

That'll scare the Justice Department into doing what's right. Your feelings.

463 457 I have always assumed that there are goings- on in DC that never are revealed to us, and explain the incomprehensible actions of its players. We really are outsiders, and it has always been so.
-------------------
As a kid DC/Alexandria had multiple newspapers, both morning and evening editions. The way to fame was reporting. Today the paper is WAPO, a vanity project and lobbying firm for Jeff Bezos. We once had a functioning media then it became monopolized to protect the guilty.

465 Cotton's statement continues by explaining that he
believes this challenge by Congress to the electoral college is a
perversion of the Founders' intent to have the states run elections, not
Congress.

Well, we certainly don't want the founders' intent to be perverted! We need straight shooters like Nanzi, AOC, Joe and the Ho.

Cotton is to dumb to breath and walk at the same time or he is a bought and paid for liar. The Constitution contains explicit provisions for Congress to be involved in deciding elections.

466 The Education department doesn't educate.
The Agriculture department doesn't produce food.
The Energy department doesn't create energy.
The Defense department doesn't defend us.
Now...
What does the Justice department do?

467 8 Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
Without making a resolution about it, I have been praying for Wisdom a lot, for the past few days.

9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

Tell her to tell her teacher that Jan. 20 is the day that Joe Biden is publicly hanged, in a gallows erected on Washington Mall, for the murder of Seth Rich.

Really, that outcome is as likely as the other.
