The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

punk-monkey.jpg

American Exceptionalism is real. It created the greatest economic engine in history, and on the way it also created a flat society, in which movement from the lowest levels to the highest can happen in the blink of an eye. America has created wealth where once there was none, and no hope for any. America was truly the land of opportunity, for its own citizens and those lucky enough to join this grand experiment from stultified and broken societies across the globe.

But it has on occasion lost its way. Many of us remember the 1970s, during which our political process foundered in partisan politics and feel-good spending, and our social fabric flapped and tore in the winds of the unrest of the 1960s. We were a failing country, and the election of a weak and worthless peanut farmer made matters worse. We were feckless abroad...pushed around by 3rd World countries whose only power came out of the ground, courtesy of our own industrial might.

But in a flash it changed. Ronald Reagan's unabashed love of country, and his sense that the best was yet to come reignited the fire that seemed to have gone out of the American heart.

The question today is whether the America we remember -- and the one that President Trump remembers and attempted to resurrect -- still exists. And will it still exist in four years, when we once again have the opportunity (broken voting process notwithstanding) to point the nation in the direction we the people choose.

I don't know the answer, but I believe in the American people, and I believe in its Exceptionalism.

To The Horde; Have a happy and healthy and peaceful New Year, with the hope and expectation that we will prevail, no matter how long it takes, in the battle for the soul of our country.

I'm not holding my breath.

Meanwhile, I got other things to take care of. Some of which may actually come in handy if we ever get our act together. So stop telling me about writing letters or gotta vote or #twoweeks or some functionary possibly doing their duty. Page me when we're serious.

73 America was exceptional because Americans were exceptional. Because we went to war with the lone world superpower of its day to impose our freedom on it. And not to replace a foreign king with our own king like so many of the lesser peoples of earth seek, but to form a country with no king, and no aristocracy.

We did it ourselves, with God's blessing, and in His name. Because it was the Rights He gave us that we were defending.

How can we be considered exceptional if we continue to sit around and wait for *someone else* to free us from the despotism that is imposed on us? How can we be considered exceptional if we put our hopes in the superstition of "the next election," knowing it is fixed in our enemies' favor?

Throughout that history we have met and prevailed over issues and situations, some even more serious than the current mess, that have ruined lesser entities.

96 I don't know the answer, but I believe in the American people, and I believe in its Exceptionalism.
Simply stated - I don't. Because I've never seen it - even in these glorious eighties you talk about. All I saw then was what I see now, a group that wants to make their coin off the backs of others. And a bunch of folks wanting to protect their various favorite institutions at all costs. Just a bunch of hustlers trying to game the system. This, I suspect, is what is referred to as Balkanization. And I don't see how any stereotype, such as Exceptionalism, can be applied to a society that is most definitely Balkanized.

Grandpa 10077 explained something to me when I was about five and I wanted to change something.

You start off with a red fire engine and everyone in town changes "just one thing" about the truck.

By the time everyone is done you have a blue Zamboni, a vehicle that still has something to do with water but not very useful for fighting fires.

A lot of "just one more things" add up to a schizoid nation that does not understand that males do not have mensural cycles.

I saw a few delayed minutes of that GA legislative 5 hour meet yesterday, and legislators seemed bothered at the blatant fraud and were asking questions.
Rudy and company were able to lay out the facts they have gathered over the last 7 weeks, and the presentation was devastating. Most people know nothing of this evidence.
Only one state needs to fall in the recount and the ground will shake nationally. The evidence puts the pressure on the legislature to declare there are too many illegal votes for Biden to win. They have the power, and yesterday, their state was publicly embarrassed.
Public pressure needs to step up, from everywhere. Investigate, don't hide it. There are email addresses and phone #s on line, everyone can help.

Old saying > "if voting changed anything, they'd outlaw it".

Holds true. Because before Trump, it didn't matter the party in "power". They were still the "in" party. Everyone played the game of arguing about the "other" party. And that's what it was. A game. So voting didn't change anything.

337 For those saying now way could Biden get 15M more votes than Obama.....

First off it is 12M not 15M. Second Trump got 15M more than McCain got. Obamas win in 2008 bigger than Bidens.

Population growth between 2008 and 2020 was about 10%. So right off the bat Biden gets an extra 7M or so votes vs 2008.

Was there fraud? Sure. Was there fraud in the millions of votes? No. The fraud was in the thousands in GA, PA, MI and WI and just enough to win those states for Biden.

Both getting record breaking vote totals at the same time is highly implausible. Obama's numbers were from heavy crossover voting. We had 153 million registered eligible voters in 2018. You're saying everyone and then some voted? The data is largely suggestive of the fraud being in the millions(not including illegals who are assumed to largely not change much).

353 129M people voted in 2008, election with historic draw and lots of people voting who weren't regular voters.

2012 saw 129M people vote.
2016 saw people 129M people vote.
2020 is at 155M+.

Trump got 71,111,419.
They claim Biden got 81,009,468.
That's 152,000,000 votes and change.

Right now, the present, today is when you should discard that mask because that is the biggest statement each of us individually can make to declare our freedom.

361 @353 - It was the Bidenmania. We haven't seen that kind of enthusiasm since the Beatles came to America.

Seriously, the numbers you guys are citing speak for themselves. This was straight up a rigged election.

Makes me wonder about 2012 too. As Ace (the group, not our host) sang, "how long has this been going on?"

362 Since I live in GA and have been subjected to non stop political ads and can now be certified as insane the wife and me decided to do an experiment with upcoming election. One of us will vote and the other will not, doesn't matter since the fix is in, and then we are going to check the SoS website to see which of us voted.

364 Unfortunately I don't think we will have the opportunity to vote in a free election ever again. No one will stand and fight that we have elected and the Democrats have won at cheating and will change things so we will never again win. Period. I wish I thought otherwise!

365 the flat society that our Constitution (and the founders) created has been despised and battled against from the start. got going with Wilson full strength with the defanging of the states by changing the senator's election. and the taxing of income. all to undo the flat society and re-create the royalty that the elite so desire. they royalty, us serfs. they will tell us who wins. (sad part is how many lemmings they have doing their dirty work)
