Oddly (or maybe not) the twenty-somethings and early thirty-somethings are the most paranoid of the Chinese flu, while the parents (that would include me) just roll our eyes and realize they are hopelessly brainwashed and it really isn't the hill to die on, if we want to keep the family members still talking to each other.

People saw this as Jane wanting to get interest in doing the character right in a new movie. It depends on how they count as public records. If they were looking for a suspect they would have posted them in a post office, so public. On the other hand if you were just one of "the Usual Suspects" it would be in a book in the police station that you couldn't just peruse through for fun, but you could if you were filing a report.
So...I guess kind of public? I don't see why Capone and Dillinger are ok and a random purse snatcher aren't. Then again, not all mug shots are from convicted people...
I guess unless you claim them guilty of something they weren't, entrepreneurship might win the day.

1. Intense, INTENSE, high intensity cardio in the morning. I'm the guy who bragged about doing 100 burpees on all the GAINZ threads this year. Turns out doing 100 burpees every morning at the age of 29 would have consequences. I blew out my elbow. So I started doing old school burpees without the push up. It turns out once you get up to speed this is crushingly hard. Twice as hard as "regular" burpees. Then I found out I can do A bunch of upper body weight training that doesn't hurt my elbow. THEN I STARTED TO SQUAT BRO.
TL;DR
You need to workout now now than ever, intense cardio will keep you sane

Not really, at least not anymore. The point of police and the legal system was to put in place neutral and fair arbitrators that would implement justice to the guilty and protect the innocent.
Our current judicial and legal system is more and more protecting the guilty in place of the innocent. Currently, this in spite of the law, if they succeed it will become part of the law just like in other authoritarian states.

I'm a wannabe pole dancer. I train in my garage now. Been dancing 7-8 years but im not very good. Having a baby sets yourfitness back! Since the lockdowns i've been taking zoom classes to learn tricks/routines and try to get more flexible. I still don't have splits but i'm getting there. I'm definitely at the best skill level i've been, though that isn't saying much. It has helped me lose 60lb though.

He was a cop in Tacoma, went back on active duty, again, and is now a bird colonel at McDill doing things he can't talk about.
I may have to go to another wedding down there.
It'd be fun to see everyone again. His brother and his wife are bourbon aficianados. It makes for interesting sampling.

In fairness, in a real society based on Laws and build on principles the Punisher _is_ a problem. Heck, even other vigilantes tend to not like Punisher very much.
In modern America he is likely to soon be a rallying symbol for those unable to get justice in the system (or by visiting their Godfather).
The rise of violent vigilantes is not a good thing.
But it is a predictable and nigh inevitable thing when no other justice exists.

I escaped today to mail Christmas cards, but I had to wait until the afternoon to chip my truck out of an ice block and clear the driveway to do it. Lot of tree and branch damage, fortunately, nothing hit my house (or the neighbors). I still haven't walked the entire property because of the ice.

There are ski slopes. The problem is that you spend a lot of time in lift lines because the slopes aren't like real mountains. It's up, a nice ski down, then right back in line for the lift.

I loved downhill and cross country. One of the most fun things we did on skis was to ski frozen lakes. It's incredible.

As an added difficulty factor, how about in the case when liberty wasnt reestablished from without? (I.e Germany, 1945) We're on our own lcontinent here, whose going to invade/help overthrow the dictatorship?

A better question is how long after the establishment of totalitarian rule does it take for a more liberal form of government to reassert itself. As an added difficulty factor, how about in the case when liberty wasnt reestablished from without? (I.e Germany, 1945) We're on our own lcontinent here, whose going to invade/help overthrow the dictatorship?

Historically it's rather rare for a totalitarian government to simply be replaced by a more liberal one. More often, the society is eventually destroyed in war, or as in the case of the Western Roman Empire or the Soviet Union, just collapses.
The South American countries are kind of a special case, in that most of them have spent 200 years cycling back and forth from dictatorship to elected leaders. But no matter what form of government they choose, they're all dysfunctional so it doesn't really matter.

The images I have seen show it is _broken bad_ in terms of graphics on the PS4.
And Project CD Red supposedly was authorizing refunds, which I imagined swamped PSN reps.
Project CD Red dropped the ball pretending that PS4 and X-Box One could play this game. Maybe someday it'll be better, but it will never be as promised from what has been seen so far.
On the other hand I've heard it looks amazing on high end PCs.

When I was 12 or so, my family took a trip out west, drove from Denver to San Diego and back. Stayed in Aspen, during the summer. The stay was cheap in the off season, nobody was there, and the scenery was amazing.

I think the undoing of the Democrat over class will be at the hands of the Hispanic labor force, the Muslim immigrant or the continental African.
All three cultures have less value for civil society and human rights.
Obviously it's difficult to tell at this point whether or not Muslims giving homosexuals and transgenders discount BASE jumping lessons will be preferable to our current version of Twitter-rule.
But surely we understand AOC, Pelosi or Buttigeig types will not be able to easily subdue cultures with a more violent background.

It's unplayable on PS4, and subject to frequent crashes on PS5. Apparently there are a lot of issues with other platforms.
Also, the developer offered refunds to unhappy customers, without clearing it with the middle men who'd actually pay the refunds, like Sony.

The fraud should be taken as an act of war by the Chinese.
Our response should be to recognize Taiwan as the true and legitimate government of China and demand that the Communists surrender to them.
If they fail to do so, then see if India wants an ally in helping resolve its border dispute, and if they, Australia, and Japan are willing to lend their navies to helping strangle Chinese sea trade.
An alliance of only those nations plus us would have a commanding sea power advantage and a significant manpower advantage - India has almost twice the manpower of China (factoring Active, Reserve, and Paramilitary).
We would be able to bottle them in, shutdown all but overland trade, and starve them out. China is not invincible or inevitable.

Warner Broze put in a new CEO who'd formerly headed the Cannon Towel company.
The game programmers went to him and asked for (as I recall) a $0.25 royalty per cartridge (the cartridges were selling for $50-75 or so).
He refused, on the grounds that he'd never had to pay the towel designers any royalty.
Whereupon all the good programmers jumped ship and started Activision, and started keeping ALL the money. This was made much worse by the fact that Atari sold the consoles at a loss, planning on making it up by selling cartridges.
Mr. Towel then learned that you can't just call up Kelly Services and have them send over a temp who can squeeze a fun and playable game into 8K of memory. Such people are... scarce.

Russian Communism lasted from 1917 to 1989, and finally collapsed because Gorbachev was a third generation apparachick who didn't have blood on his hands from the original revolution in 1917, the purges of the 30s and the nightmare of WW2. He didn't have the stomach to do what needed to be done to keep the Soviet Empire.
The ChiComs started a lot later, 1940s, took power in 1949, and their leadership now is still the second generation that has very blood-soaked hands from the Great Leap Forward, Cultural Revolution and Tiananmen Square. It'll be another 10 years or so before a third generation takes power that has no bloody hands and is only interested in making money. Then China will revert to capitalism. Hopefully they won't destroy us first.
Pol Pot was so crazy that the lunatic commie countries around him deposed him before he killed every last person in Cambodia. He was only in power a few years.
The Kim regime in North Korea will never fall from within. Every member of that family is drenched in blood as is the entire government structure. It would almost be a mercy to put the entire country out of its misery.
There are variations to the theme, but totalitarian longevity mostly has to do with blood-thirstiness in grandchildren, or lack thereof.
Hitler's Germany being of course a special case like Pol Pot of everyone around Germany deciding that it was too dangerous to be allowed to survive.

I think China is putting a lot of chips on the short sharp part, thinking they'll be able to turn US public opinion against the effort before they have to deal with more than the two groups usually in their area.
I mean can you imagine what US 'news' would do if China succeeded in sinking *any* ship we have? Plus open war means trade between us has come to a screeching halt and they think we don't have the stomach to go without cheap shit (or stuff only they currently produce).

Transportation and communications technology is what has made modern totalitarianism possible. The Roman Emperors were cruel, but if you weren't in Rome then you had little contact with them. Same went for most kings. Of course there have always been local tyrants and petty officials who lorded it over the people, but that's been the human condition from time immemorial.
Early Christians were persecuted by Rome not because the Emperors had a thing against them, but because they were upsetting the local power structures and grift machines of their day.

China would probably focus on a land war with any Allied nations it shared a border with. Their main strengths - massive manpower and a complete disregard for life - would be most amplified there.
China being aggressive at sea would be suicidal. They've got very few capital ships - most of their fleet is tiny missile frigates.
If we didn't sink them with carrier airstrikes from beyond surface to surface naval missile ranges, we'd be doing something wrong.

Japan made an incalculable mistake by not doing exactly that in WWII. The USSR wouldn't have been able to supply a two-fronted war, meaning that either the Siberian forces would get stiffed for resupply and have to fight an ugly delaying action, or the Western forces would have to share and couldn't keep up the same operational tempo.

I just looked up Chattanooga.com (the hospital's location). they do NOT mention the incident. they substituted a photo of a guy on the steps outside the hospital receiving the vaccine. maybe outside to escape the commotion in the staged area following the fainting? the article on the webpage is surrounded by 5 (!) covid panic-porn stories.

I went to the chattanooga news free press site (the major newspaper) in the city. There is a 22 paragraph article about the PR event. They do NOT mention the incident with Nurse Manager Tiffany Dover until the 18th paragraph! It is two sentences. Followed by an "explanation." Thus:
"Tiffany Dover, nurse manager in Memorial's COVID-19 unit, was overcome with emotion as she recalled the difficulty caring for coronavirus patients minutes after receiving her vaccine dose. Moments later, she started feeling dizzy and fainted.
"Memorial physicians who were on site said light-headness and fainting sometimes occur when undergoing medical procedures, such as getting a shot or having blood drawn. A Memorial spokesperson said Thursday evening that Dover was doing well."

I have spent so, so much time over the last year and 3/4s getting blood drawn and having procedures-including bone marrow and liver biopsies. Not only have I never fainted I have never seen anyone else faint either.
I did 2 people become faint in college on getting a Meningitis shot but 1 of them had skipped breakfast which was recommended (it was easy to ask him as he was my roommate).
Does it happen? Yes, but you would probably want to find someone who doesn't have a history of it happening- as well as make sure they did any sort of prep before hand for your PR event.

But in this case it was cancelled for being a broken mess and the company offered refunds without letting the company that would have to deal with those refunds -Sony- know.
Piss of the woke and you can survive. Piss of your distributor who controls access to a good share of your potential sales market...not so good.
And then there is the whole "piss of your customer by giving them a product that may not be playable at all" and they basically hit the Daily Double of bad business moves.

My solution for Detroit is that the ballots cannot be counted in the inner cities, since only Republican poll watchers get chased out of the polling place, and are otherwise intimidated. The Detroit cops are in on the steal, since they are the muscle removing poll watchers.
White 'burbs are included in Wayne county, not just Detroit, so the ballots have to be trucked outside the city of Detroit, maybe to Livonia or Northville to be processed.
If we enact this in two years, wHitler and her two henchwomen lose.

Started out as spot in my back right next to spine. By that evening it was up through right shoulder and down into elbow.
Went into work to run a sample I already had prepped and left after 5 hrs when done.
Came home and started popping half a pain pill, which I hate, every couple hours.
At least this morning it's just the forearm.

I think the answer is Yes. We know some of the effects of an EMP blast, as our gubmint did a test somewhere near Hawaii back in the 50s that caused a number of electronics problems up to 900 miles away.
A nuke can be tweaked to generate excess neutrons (the famed 'neutron bomb') to one that generates a lot of high energy electrons, probably by forcing the nuke power thru a modified tesla coil. Get the altitude right (100 miles up or so), get the spread right, and presto, a whole fuckton of IC chips and wires burn out all at once.
The Carrington Event was a natural version of this effect.
Worst of all is the effect on our power grid. If a bunch of big dog transformers blow out all at once, the lead time to get replacements is up to two years; guess where many of them are manufactured?

Chilly here this morning, so I gave myself the day off from working out. I do need to go into my office and clean up some things, but then we are off until Jan. 4. Perhaps a day trip to the Miss. Gulf Coast will happen, along with getting the tires on the car replaced. (Yeah, I know, exciting. Whaddaya expect when you live in a pesthole.)
Bought a new watch, a Steinhart GMT with vintage style details like a domed crystal. It got here in like 4 days from Singapore. So far it runs perfectly and the lume, the glow-in-the-dark, of the dial and hands lasts all night. My strap tool broke, so I need to buy a new one so I can put it on a nylon strap (the bracelet is great, but my other watches both have bracelets. I want something different). A little present to myself after a long bitter year.

I see other threats as more worthy than EMP.
But I'll give you a personal anecdote while testing the USNS Mohawk (T-ATF-170).
We go the field strength of the EMP simulator to max on the shielded ship. Set a record here. We had excellent engineers measuring things, like how the protection performed.
I was outside with no protection. For reasons. But I knew when every pulse went out, because my Casio watch rest after zeroing out and the screen going blank. Worked fine after setting the right time in.
So I was unharmed. (Don't ask my wife, please) Sensitive electronics were temporarily harmed. We learned what needed to be done to protect sensitive electronics. Are we doing that as in the whole critical areas? Maybe.
EMP has the same energy output of a static electricity spark from walking on a rug and touching the doorknob in winter. It has limited power because the rise time in the field is so fast -- 10 nanoseconds. Lightning by comparison rises in 100 nanoseconds.
Our grid and more is protected against lightning. If there is no connection to an outside collector, sensitive electronics are vulnerable to EMP. But we know how to protect them, and this was 30 years ago.
It take a little design work, a little money, and we could be good. But I do not know what we did with this knowledge in the Electrical Grid construction and maintenance area.
The CA grid is vulnerable to CA politicians, fire, SJWs and more. EMP is an exotic hazard not hurting CA as we speak. Dems and GOPe are a bigger hazard.

And let's get rid of all these useless "majors". But back to teachers, their compensation for additional education should be confined to courses relevant to their subject matter, and even then it needs to be scrutinized.
My grandson's teacher is taking courses at an Ivy education department and she is unable to function at all in the virtual classroom. She relies on internet platforms for presentations to the kids and enlists the help of several other teachers on a daily basis. He had one reading evaluation since September, and that was with a teacher unknown to him prior to the assessment. There have been no reading comprehension assessments at all and there are no assigned readings or books at all. The class is a shambles.
The younger grandson's teacher is a huge improvement and never uses other teachers to do her work. She assesses the kids on her own and her virtual assignments actually work. The assignments given to the older grandson fail to work about 4/5 of the time.
