The Coffee Break Is Always Looking Out For YouTM
I am writing in response to your request for additional information. In block number 3 of the accident reporting form, I put quote – poor planning – unquote as the cause of my accident. You said in your letter that I should explain more fully, and I trust that the following details will be sufficient.
I am a bricklayer by trade. On the day of the accident, I was working alone on the roof of a new six story building. When I completed my work, I discovered that I had about 500 pounds of brick left over. Rather than carry the bricks down by hand, I decided to lower them in a barrel by using a pulley which fortunately was attached to the side of the building, at the sixth floor.
Securing the rope at ground level, I went up to the roof, swung the barrel out, and loaded the bricks into it. Then I went back to the ground and untied the rope, holding it tightly to insure a slow descent of the 500 pounds of bricks. You will note in block number eleven of the accident reporting form that I weigh 135 pounds.
Due to my surprise to being jerked off the ground so suddenly, I lost my presence of mind and forgot to let go of the rope. Needless to say, I proceeded at a rather rapid rate up the side of the building.
In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming down. This explains the fractured skull and broken collarbone.
Slowed only slightly, I continued my rapid ascent, not stopping until the fingers of my right hand were two-knuckles deep into the pulley.
Fortunately, by this time I had regained my presence of mind and was able to hold tightly to the rope in spite of my pain.
At approximately the same time, however, the barrel of bricks hit the ground --- and the bottom fell out of the barrel. Devoid of the weight of the bricks, the barrel now weight approximately fifty pounds.
I refer you again to my weight in block number eleven. As you might imagine, I began a rapid descent down the side of the building.
In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming up. This accounts for the two fractured ankles and the lacerations of my legs and lower body.
The encounter with the barrel slowed me enough to lessen my injuries when I fell onto the pile of bricks and, fortunately, only three vertebrae were cracked.
I am sorry to report, however, that as I lay there on the bricks – in pain, unable to stand, and watching the empty barrel six stories above me – I again lost my presence of mind ---

Coffee morning!
I've had my 5 (tiny) cups already today. In about an hour I'm due to head out for my haircut and beard trim. Then I plan to run by the jeweler who's serviced my watches in the past, and let Linda pick out something in the jewelry line for Christmas. Should I tell her the price cap beforehand?
(I've already found her some musk perfume, so she won't go empty-handed in any case.)

So his mom made his usual lunch but as a snack sent some extra special chocolate chip cookies. Needless to say, he had home made lunch thereafter.

Good morning, Horde!
Made a slightly stronger than usual pot with Costco Colombian beans this morning. Hard to beat at just over five bucks a pound.
I am shopping a new knife set and some new pots and pans. Our wedding stuff has worn. We have never bought higher end knives. The pots and pans were Calphalon and lasted well. I been doing horse teams in minature, by rights teams are in pairs as the first in my models are connected to the wagon or limber, the 2nd pair might as well to the pole end, but pairs after are connected to the horse behind not back to the load. So have no idea how a odd horse it reindeer would be used.

I had to fill out an accident report when a pull-top can exploded at Campbells back in the day. Believe it or not, some runs are bad, and that leaves walls of hundreds of pallets of soup cans that start swelling and exploding.

Does no good to rant but again I wish the Trump team would have raised all this information they had about voting machines, poll watching, mail in ballots , etc prior to the election. They should have been litigating this a year before the election. They should have also released the Hunter Biden info at the time when Rudy kept hinting he had a bombshell which was at least six months before he did finally release the 'bombshell' which was diffused by the MSM.

The way I take what my research said was every pair of horses after the teams directly connected to the load diminishes how much share of the load is taken up. Teams of 12 horses were used or that infamous 20 mule team the lead pair hardly does much it seems.

In the GE the fraud barely touched the Senate races. They're reasonable predictions if you assume fraud is only at normal levels. If, as the Rep senators are pushing for, they restore signature verification then they could very well win, but remember tens of thousands have already relocated to illegally vote in the runoff. Yes, it's publicly known, and no, no one is going to do anything about it.

My favorite version! You reminded me of someone special. Our fifth grade class took a field trip to see that in a theater (in the seventies, not 1951). So cool.
What a great teacher she was. Another of many unique things she did with us was to bring bags and bags of artichokes to teach us all how to prepare and eat them. She brought a portable cooktop and cookware and everything. She gave us artichokes to take home and enjoy the process with our families.
She shared stories of the Holocaust with us. Her family survived it and eventually emigrated to the USA. They lived in a kibbutz for a time but artichoke farming was not the life for them. It has been a while and I have not reflected on her often enough over the years to keep her life stories fresh. At any rate, I am extremely lucky to have met her and had her as a teacher.

I started rooting for all the Big Ten after getting out of college ... just to root for someone if they were on TV. Some of the old traditions are nice to recall, too bad Illinois is about as bad as it gets when it comes to going far left commie. It was bad enough when I was there in the 70s.
My Mom's cousin did a lot of research and was known for his work on the corn root worm. He was big on fighting for the Chief (illiniwek). I use the nick as a marker for fighting the PC religion ... am not really any kind of fan or loyalist to the old alma mater, which now churns out more goofball commies than useful scientists.

This board justifiably has issues with the conduct of AG Barr and SCOTUS. One thing that they both have to be commended for is proceeding with the execution of that subhuman monster Alfred Bourgeois.
I'm generally against the death penalty, except in the case of a person indisputably convicted of torture-murder. Bourgeois' case fits that description only too well. He had appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, which denied him on December 7. His claim was that he was "intellectually disabled".Funny, that claim never surfaced during his initial trial, nor during the sixteen years federal death penalty was on hold. Only when his snuffing was imminent did he decide to play the victim.
So I guess that's the silver lining to the AG William Barr cloud.

I think it's the banner ads screwing up the site -- the ones for the phoney investing sites or news sites a few weeks ago and the fruit laxatives (or whatever) ones this week just passed. When they're up, it takes me twenty minutes of reloading, sometimes including having to cold reboot my tablet to get to a stable thread page. The other two-thirds of the times like this a.m. for this coffee thread it's fine. I'd add that it's okay for my desktop p.c. but even with it it takes a couple of minutes for the homepage to settle down and let me access the comments easily as usual.
And it's not the website's problem but the new iteration of Twitter screws up with comments threads too -- kind of a time delay as they load or reload. I've found that at Disqus comments threads too so it's not an HQ coding problem. I assume tweets are now bigger memory hogs than the previous version causing it.

Does no good to rant but again I wish the Trump team would have raised
all this information they had about voting machines, poll watching, mail
in ballots , etc prior to the election. They should have been
litigating this a year before the election.

I think Trump won in 2016 because he made it clear in the months leading up to it, that he KNEW the other side was trying to cheat, and *he was watching them*. They were uncertain of how far he'd go if they were caught, so they hesitated and lost. Then 2018 came with lots of in-your-face, slow-motion cheating, and Trump let them get away with it. It was all over then; they lost their fear of him and knew they could do whatever they wanted and nothing would happen.

7 I think it's the banner ads screwing up the site -- the ones for the phoney investing sites or news sites a few weeks ago and the fruit laxatives (or whatever) ones this week just passed. When they're up, it takes me twenty minutes of reloading, sometimes including having to cold reboot my tablet to get to a stable thread page. The other two-thirds of the times like this a.m. for this coffee thread it's fine. I'd add that it's okay for my desktop p.c. but even with it it takes a couple of minutes for the homepage to settle down and let me access the comments easily as usual.
And it's not the website's problem but the new iteration of Twitter screws up with comments threads too -- kind of a time delay as they load or reload. 1951). So cool. What a great teacher she was.
I had 2 teachers like that, for 4th grade and my highschool German teacher. Miss Bastick was the 4th grade teacher (and don't laugh at her name! It wasn't until I was grown up that I realized that it was funny) and she started each morning reading us a Bible verse, then at some point in the morning she'd read us a chapter from a novel - we heard all the Narnia books, and she also read us a series of books about Vikings. She'd play us classical music records; I learned all about the French Horn virtuoso Dennis Brain, and went on to play French Horn in the high school band as a result.
I remember once she held a competition; she played the final movement of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, and we had to stand and conduct it. The last one standing won a prize!
They were people who put my feet on the right path. It might be nice to do a post about our favourite teachers some day. I'll bet everyone has someone they could commemorate.

There are pop-up COVID testing places every where around here. Seems sketchy at best, an empty lot one day, next day a small metal shipping container or trailer is parked there with COVID testing signs. All except one (the suit in WI filed over indefinitely confined voters) were dismissed because no one had been harmed yet. The suit in WI did result in an injunction against officials telling people that covid restrictions meant that they could avoid ID requirements by declaring themselves indefinitely confined but DID NOT require that the state void such votes. The court then sat on that case from March to December and DID NOT rule on the case before the election. No ruling on the merits meant that election officials could and did allow an estimated 150,000 people to vote illegally.

That wasn't good enough, but it was naive to expect a man of his age and preconceptions to realize that WWI tactics wouldn't work in WWIII. We needed a more lawless president, one who'd strike in unexpected directions, using unexpected tools, to win this war, and Trump just wasn't the guy.

The good it accomplished was giving us warning of their untrustworthiness before they could do even more damage. They would've been especially able to mislead and delude us in the coming months of the struggle we will have with the Biden/Harris Administration.
And btw calling him President elect is really very appropriate and should be continued even after the date of the inauguration (unless Trump manages to pull a squeaker) because that's all he is. He'll NEVER be President. And it really should be said; "President-Select" as that's what happened.
A group of our opponents with money and help from foreign and domestic enemies managed to fake an election that seemed to gift Biden with the Presidency.

Fortunately they're actual goal is not to maintain peace and assurance but to make it more difficult for those of us who will resist these lies to communicate and to also gain reassurance of our position by the knowledge that we are not alone.
