The Morning Rant

talking ape.jpg

So here is a tweet that puts pretty much everything that's wrong with "conservativism" in one condensed, little package:

rpaul 20201218 01.jpg

Let's look at what Sen. Paul said again:

"The election in many ways was stolen and the only way it will be fixed is by in the future reinforcing the laws."

I think the most important and telling part of this sentence is the phrase, "in the future". So Paul is not proposing that anything should be done now, or, heaven forbid, that he should do any of it. Rather, let's just ignore everything that happened in the last couple of months, the suspicious counting, the mysterious, appearing-in-the-middle-of-the-night ballots, the unsecure mail-in voting, let's just put all of that behind us now, and, going forward, it's all going to be good. Trust us.

Real conservatives have been complaining for years that fake conservativism, (Conservatism, Inc.) doesn't ever really conserve anything.

What hill should we be willing to die on? The next one. Or the one after that one. But the one we're standing on right now? Nope, sorry, not this one. Too risky.

And here's more after-the-fact bravery from Miss Lindsay: "Social Media Companies And Mail-In Voting Will Destroy Conservatism If We Donít Push Back". Heh. No, the time to push back on the Democrats' efforts to normalize unsecured mail-in voting was BEFORE the election, not a month later.

Let's fight tomorrow. But let's not fight today.

When is it time to be brave?
When is it time for battle?
When is it time to fight?
When is it time to give your all?
When is it time to sacrifice?

Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow...

After he was beset by that mob after Trump's nomination acceptance speech by BLM/Antifa, the least he could have done was sue DC for not having adequate police protection around the event. He didn't even do that.

I was speaking with a friend about this, and he said that when conservatives are abused by the system the last thing they want to do is throw around lawsuits. Maybe it's because we hate trial lawyers, and don't want to seem like hypocrites by utilizing a resource which is so loyal to Democrats.

183 Does anybody remember how Paul ended his presidential campaign? By cucking out and apologizing to a female reporter.

This guy had several ribs broken and lung punctured (and his health probably permanently affected) by a crazed Leftist, in addition to being swarmed and terrorized by a crazed Antifa mob, and he can't resolve to say more than he said?

Our side suffers from a mental and moral affliction.

184 158 Once you give up on the fantasy coping mechanisms of thinking about armed revolt, Pinochet-style takeovers, setting up new colonies in the Horn of Africa, etc., then yeah it might just be a good idea to do some relatively easy things like get some states to pass some vote integrity laws like Rand Paul suggests to maybe limit opportunities for future vote fraud. But stockpiling beans for the coming civil war sounds more exciting.

Digital techniques can come awfully close to emulating film - I used to have a studio and do 4x5 work.

The biggest difference IMO is the invention of all the cool new idiot-proof light sources. Today's ubiquitous soft boxes didn't exist back then.

You'll notice that the shadows can verge on harsh. There's a lot of different terminology about just the shadow under the nose - but note in modern photos you don't get anything like they had before.

IMO these guys (and gals) were masters of light and shadow, using hard-lined shadows to their advantage instead of considering it an enemy to be softened.

236 I might get in trouble for it but I'm not sure what should be done, ultimately, other than this... ALL possible fraud needs to be investigated and ALL participants in it need to be prosecuted.

A pretend Facebook friend of mine who's a lawyer has talked about a fraud case he was involved in (and won) and the whole thing took three years. Three years to get into the nitty-gritty. Three years to prove who knew what and who was responsible for what. Three years to go to trial, complete the trial, and prove their case and get the public officials involved thrown in jail.

"This can't be resolved before January 20th" is a stupid reason not to investigate and charge people with election fraud. "It's not practicable to kick out Biden and re-install Trump," is a stupid reason not to go through the whole process. "We aren't going to kick Biden out anyway," is the worst reason of all EVEN IF IT'S TRUE.

I guess what I'm saying is, what is the important part? The outcome or the process? People arguing that the most important thing is our confidence in the process and that means we need to pretend that the process is true are profoundly wrong because they're upside down. We don't preserve confidence in the process because we've pretended nothing happened.

I don't think that Rand's focus is wrong, at least as much as I can tell what his focus is without listening to his whole presentation.

Biden is a temporary disaster.

Normalizing and ignoring fraud is a permanent disaster. So yes, that's what we should worry about and we should absolutely insist that this is not poo-poo'd away because it "won't change the outcome."

This is actually a good question.

From her life story, it took quite a while for Ann Sullivan to get the young Helen to understand that the word she was spelling out into her hand was referring to something else. She finally "got it" one day when Ann was pumping water onto her hand at an outdoor pump while spelling 'water' into her other hand. Helen dropped the bucket when she finally realized what it meant and just took off from there.

I honestly think despair is the deadliest sin because it seems to me to enable all the other deadly sins: if you hopelessly given up, what difference do sloth or greed or anger make?

They'd call for a "March on Washington," which as sure as God made green apples would turn into rioting, looting, and arson, accompanied by a sharp spike in murders of police officers. You know that's what would happen.

I'm not proposing any the sequelae - after all, we're not communists, nor are we criminals; in short, not Democrats - but a March on Washington could have a salutory effect.

There's actually some 3rd party software that does this, and typical, Adobe copies it and sticks it in their updates. I should really invest in it (not Adobe's subscription though) since I still do virtual tours and this time of year, the sky isn't always nice and blue - or the sun is in my freaking lens since it's sitting on the horizon all day.

290 imo there has never been an election even close to this level of theft. Kennedy got help in Illinois ... but it was close. Trump won big ... as we saw before the 2AM stoppage ... but even bigger than that, if evidence of other vote shaving is true. The normal cheat was bigger than usual, then came the huge electronic flips, and trucked in ballots.

Media also, has never been so obviously crooked ... and the internet was never available to distribute evidence to so many people in such detail. MSM won't cover it, but when enough people get enough links, and look at just a few, the bubble of protection can break.

We also have the massive foreign hacks and infiltration, more evidence of that is coming out. The people chose Trump over corrupt dementia Joe in a landslide ... that is being revealed to all day by day. We have another month (at least) ... don't go wobbly.

Yes --- for continuing to be a Republican.
All Lefties replying, either to kiss her butt by saying something nice about her dad or convince her the GOP is too far gone.

Whatever.

I don't expect for Sarah Palin to respond in any way that would cast any aspersions on John McCain. While McCain, Wallace, Schmidt and others went out of their way to sabotage and undermine Palin, she never disparaged McCain himself out of respect for the 'opportunity' he gave her.

She showed respect even when she wasn't invited to the memorial service (which Meghan McCain could have offered to extend - but didn't), while Obama was a featured speaker at the event.

352 Why expect Rand Paul to be a conservative?
Particularly if he is like his father. Anarcho-capitalists have never been conservative and never will be, no matter how much they try and brand and rebrand themselves as "paleoconservatives" or "paleolibertarians" or whateverwhateverians to hide that "anarcho" bit from what they really are.
But he says mean things about the government, so he "must" be a conservative, despite endorsing anarchists who go on to run on a platform of ending the country outright. There is something to "fix" going forward for sure.

And does he wind up like his father, ranting and raving about how bad the government is, voting against spending bills, but making sure they are filled with pork for his district or state?
Is it about the image more than the action with him?

As for the "Doctor" part, while his father never made a big stink about it, his followers certainly did, along with his military "service". Never mind that Ron Paul only became a doctor to avoid being drafted as a grunt, and spent all his time in the rear (as it were, particularly given he was a gynecologist - for the air force). They were always happy to tell you what a war hero for medicine he was.

That is stupid and self defeating (if election meant anything). What they SHOULD do is point out the truth. This MASSIVE fraud mean there is no "margin of fraud" that we can overcome. It means that Democrats and their GOP allies will break what ever laws they have to, and commit as much fraud as they have to, in order to thwart the will of the American people.

This massive fraud means we no longer have the franchise and voting in Potemkin elections just props up the corrupt system and gives it a thin scum of respectability. This massive fraud, if not stopped, means our republic is dead... as is the rule of law. They would say they will not be voting at all but will be arming themselves to protect their God given rights from ANY actors, state sanctioned or otherwise, that would abrogate them. They would also point out that a government that does not have the consent of the government is illegal and that any laws the pass or orders they give are illegal too.
That is what they should say.

371 369 I think it was Dave Burge (Iowahawk) on Twitter who pointed out that the font of the Dan Rather medal appears to be Times New Roman. Was the graphic designer getting in a sly and brilliant little dig, or was s/he also, like the TANG memo forger, too lazy to bother with anything except the default?

Choosing non-proportionally spaced Courier would have been a nice touch.

Kinda like throwing a banquet in honor of Walter Duranty. /spit

373 I think I will have a stroke, if I ever hear the GOP-e say: "OK, lock and load!"

Best you grab cover then, because it won't be your enemy they refer to.

375 "...there is no "margin of fraud" that we can overcome."

The roots of today's collapse are in those words. The idea of some quantity of Democrat fraud that had to be allowed and tolerated and simply budgeted for was an excuse that Republicans used to avoid having to get tough and retaliate legally against their "good friends" on the other team. That was just too hard, and Republicans became adept at taking the line of least resistance. They should have been as ferociously intolerant of electoral fraud as they are of rat feces in their coffee.

376 That's why I'm never voting Republican again, and am trying my hardest to convince anyone who will listen to stop voting as well.

379 Love the Michigan and the voter fraud memes.

The republicans didn't lose their spines.

They sold them.

You can't put them back because the democrats are using them for bone broth soup.

380 no margin of fraud can be overcome . . .

Because when we did this time. They just stopped counting and when they saw how far behind they were they knew how many votes they had to manufacture to take the lead. They will hold the vote open as long as it takes to make up the difference between winning and losing. Criminals will not abide by your rules. Expecting to win a game where the other side changes the score at will is not logical.

nobody's vote matters anymore. Not even a dems. If the deep state wants AOC to be president AOC is going to be president.

Seriously, the most unpopular candidate in the race this time was Harris and she's going to be president before 2024 as things stand.

Its not logical to argue that we can vote our way out of this when it is as it stand now, we can't vote our way out of it.

" It means that Democrats and their GOP allies will break what ever laws they have to, and commit as much fraud as they have to, in order to thwart the will of the American people."

Newsflash, they just did. I'm on your side, what do you propose? It doesn't appear anyone is listening...

382 @ 364 Martini Farmer So it would appear China can start turning off the electricity and water
when and where they want to. Bring down the markets. Interfere with
online commerce.

Great.

Yep, People said I was crazy for sinking that well, putting in those solar panels, large propane tank and generator, all those gubs, crates of ammo, reloading supplies, putting in crops yada, yada. They said it would never break even.
I'm looking like Nostradamus right about now.
Hey got any spare martini seeds laying around? .
