Tucker Carlson: As America Faces One of the Highest Levels of Unemployment Ever, Republican Senators Decide to Flood India and China with H1-B Visas

As he points out: These aren't the lettuce-picking jobs the GOP Corporate Graft class routinely says "Americans don't want to do."

These are the high-paying tech jobs that Americans do want to do -- and in fact, the jobs Americans are supposed to train to get when they're laid off from other industries flooded with immigrant labor. ("Learn to code," peons.)

And the GOP -- the GOP whose only constituents are megacorporations and, strangely, the tech monopolies seeking to eradicate the GOP from government and society generally -- decided to give high-paying jobs to foreigners.

Again.

Is everyone psyched about voting in two more GOP Senators in Georgia?

They'll really look out for us, right?

You know, there is a very strong and very plausible suspicion that the GOP has colluded with the Democrats to rig the election against Trump -- so they can get back to endlessly servicing their only real constituents, megacorporations and tech monopolies.

The GOP demonstrates here that that's true -- they could not even wait until the Commander in Thief Biden is sworn in before proving their allegiance to their plutocrat masters once again.

Here's what FaceBook is already doing -- before the Republican Corporate Senate decided to do new favors for them:

If the Georgia senators come up short, they need to look at their "colleagues" to ascertain what happened. As disgusting a pig as Lee is, he has company. As soon as the ink dried on their certifications, Graham and Cornyn started to agitate for amnesty.

Loeffler and Perdue could help themselves by denouncing the visa expansions, the upcoming amnesty and the election fraud that put them into this position. But, of course, Rove and McConnell don't want to hear these things.

30 The short-termist economic illiteracy demonstrated by our elites is a lot of what Bastiat warned about. An economy is made of interdependent parts, if you focus on making certain groups rich while destroying other industries, you're chopping away the foundations of the groups that you're enriching as well(unless they translate assets to a foreign currency and flee in a sensible time frame). Zimbabwe is a good example.

I used to make a good living TEACHING network Engineering.

Our company could tie into Vocational Training, VA Retraining dollars, and all the various means of helping to finance paid for training.

We were delivering over 1 Million dollars in delivered Training a MONTH in the Denver Area.

Then two things changed. H1Bs, and you suddenly had to be an accredited college to tie into all those Training Dollars.

BOTH were changes done by Law, by REPUBLICANS.

Within a few years, I could not get a Job at Companies where I had TAUGHT their Network Engineers. Companies that had, at one time, specifically asked for me to train their people.

In 1996, the Average Accredited Network Engineer made $67,000. 24 years later? The average in 2020? $70,000 per year... after 24 years of inflation.

Indian colleges are 3 years long, are very cheap, and are full of rote memorization and, well, notoriously corrupt. (Your dad bribes a teacher, all of a sudden you get an A).

Same with Indian doctors.

Or, my favorite -- lawyers. They get an LLB in india (a 3 year undergrad degree), come here for a quick LLM (one year masters degree), then are eligible to sit for the bar in some states (like NY.)

Hardly seems fair when the rest of us have to spent a shit ton of money doing a 4 year undergrad, then a 3 year professional doctorate before we can sit for the bar.

But look at what has happened since the election: to nearly a man, none of these nickelfucking traitors has stood behind President Trump and supported him. Hardly a one has come out and full-throatedly condemned the Democrats for tossing a grenade into the electoral system. Instead, they cower, make whimpering noises, complain about "death threats" and, as soon as they are able, screw over the 70+ million of us who voted for Trump by supporting this unamerican travesty.

Sorry. I am no longer convinced that the GOP is in anyway a bulkhead against Democrats. If we must have panopticon fascism, then let the Dems do it. Now. Give it to people good and hard, cold and unfiltered.

Don't vote for the GOP so that the fascism comes a few years later.

90 Also, the real reason companies like Google want Indian programmers is not because they are better, or work harder, or whatever.

It's because with an h1b visa, you're tied to the company that sponsored you. Sure, you can quit, but you have something like six weeks to find a new job, and that company has to agree to sponsor you.

With that looming over your head, you're probably not going to quit. Google sees the programmers are replaceable, and swaps them out regularly. And they know they won't bring their trade secrets or knowledge to a Silicon Valley competitor.

Oh, and won't complain about shitty pay and shitty hours and all the rest that normal people wouldn't put up with.

Because when the guys get back to India, they're relatively rich (by Indian standards), and there is a huge prestige in India in having worked in America, so girls' parents and lining up to set you up with their daughters.

It's a neat little package, works out for everyone... well, except American citizens.

Posted by: Duke Lowell at December 04, 2020 02:24 PM (kTF2Z)

92 An interesting consequence - and one that could be easily fixed - to the H1B system is how it over time results in salary compression and H1B preference in hiring. This is because of the work requirement for residency.

When an H1B first comes over (before, anyway - this has changed over the past decade), he is going to paid well and akin to his American peers of equivalent experience. There might be a discount (more often there is, now), but there might not. All is well until a company has a layoff. The layoffs will typically hit non-H1Bs more aggressively, because the H1B has a work requirement.

Turn the crank a few times, and the H1Bs get hit, too - and then the wage compression comes into the picture. If they are severed from their employment, H1Bs have six months to get a new job or they have to go home. They don't want to go home and so when push comes to shove, they'll accept a job that isn't ideal or is lower-paid instead of holding out for a better opportunity. Now his pay scale is compressed. Do this several thousand times, and the H1B system will drag down salaries across the board while the cycle repeats.

This would be easy to fix. H1Bs are supposed to be specialist workers with distinct skills. Specialists with distinct skills get paid. If the rule were that your H1Bs have to earn, say, 115% of the median salary for that job title/role in your organization, exclusive of other H1Bs, then this problem would go away. If they are really worth their visa, they're worth a 15% premium on your average worker. If they aren't worth that premium, they shouldn't have the visa in the first place.

Jefferson never would have imagined we'd survive 250 years with uninterrupted government. If you read the Declaration of Independence, it's pretty clear he thought governments should rise and fall with regularity, sometimes peacefully and sometimes not.

The idea of a world-dominating American empire that rules for 250 years uninterrupted, suppresses multiple states that sought to secede, expands the power of the Presidency to a defacto king, and regularly ignores the will of the courts and, now, the votes of the people...he'd probably throw up to see what's become of us.

Also, much like the Chinese, the Indians come from a profoundly corrupt culture, although ours is rapidly catching up with it.

This will encourage middle and upper middle class people to have kids with REAL and SIGNIFICANT increases in their standard of living. Want to live closer to work? Have a kid. Want a new car? Have a kid. Etc.

The dependent class would get nothing since they don't pay income taxes anyway. The rich would get a good benefit too - but for them it won't matter because taxes aren't reducing their standard of living.

Right now the middle class can't afford to have more then 2 or 3 kids even if they want to - which is idiotic.

In the abstract collective protection against large threats makes sense as a general rule. However, when it comes to the details and specifics you run into balance of power issues. You'll note the government and the monopolies somehow seem to always end up on the same side. I don't have a clear answer for this, but we need something more material than the abstract principle.

260 The slimy (no roll call vote) passage of this bill, *at this moment*, really says it all.

This thing was stymied earlier this year - Lee wanted to push it, but obviously it was insane political poison for the GOP, so it didn't go anywhere.

And they voice vote it ..... now???????????

As others have said and I've said since it happened, where the F were Cotton, Hawley, a few others of the handful of GOP in the Senate who are worth anything?

And note what this says/confirms about the GOP.

ace, it's more than a "suspicion" about the GOP desperately wanting Trump gone, it's been an obvious fact since the get-go.

Imagine a Dem candidate - an incumbent president - having such massive evidence of fraud against him in an election (right, not plausible, because 99% of the election fraud is on the Dem side, has been so for generations). Imagine it. Imagine the reaction from the Dem office-holders, down to the Berkeley City Council. Imagine the "press".

Now come back to reality.

GOP Senate voice votes an odious work immigration bill, as "their" president faces ouster (not electoral defeat). GOP legislatures mumble and fidget (so far). Several governors can barely be bothered to even make a statement.

Posted by: rhomboid at December 04, 2020 02:46 PM (OTzUX)

261 Of course the GOP is in on the steal. We need to stop voting - just stop. Let the country go over the cliff quickly instead of hanging on by our fingernails waiting to fall.

The GOP senators are getting rich selling out the country - let's stop them from getting paid.

And they plan to amnesty 30 million next year, so they won't even need to rig elections going forward.

The country is over let's boycott the GOP and FOX News and at least bring those traitors down with the rest of us.

Pretty much everything in my kitchen was made either in the US, France, or Germany. I've been working to phase out the Chinese made shit for years.

Which reminds me, have any of you used like a good potato peeler? Not the shitty one that everyone's mom has in her kitchen with the handle and the blade and spinny thing at the end? But the one that has a handle, and the blade is an actual blade on a swivel at the top?

Holy shit, it's life changing.

Or having pots and pans that don't deform from use or leech weird chemicals in to your food.

Unfortunately, even Snap-On has tools and equipment manufactured outside of the USA. I believe they have the source listed under specifications on their website. I think most of their hand tools are still USA made.

I've been slowly replacing my tools, and have been careful as to the point of origin. I think the worst so far was Taiwan (DeWalt), and I'm good with them for the moment.

I wonder how, or even if, the counties and states using the Dominion systems verify the election-day output of Dominion-proprietary systems is correct? I doubt I will like the answers.

I don't know anything about banking software, but I assume there is very tight security on banking software because the banks AND their customers want there to be tight security.

Voting software companies and their customers*?

Not so much.

I wonder how, or even if, the counties and states using the Dominion systems verify the election-day output of Dominion-proprietary systems is correct? I doubt I will like the answers.

I am a developer in the financial sector. We do a ton of "unit testing" to make sure individual calculations are correct, "integration testing" to make sure combined software components are correct, as well as "compliance testing" to ensure we're complying with all relevant regulations, "functional testing" to do integration testing at a higher component level, and about a dozen other types of testing.

On top of that we have a TON of record keeping requirements in case we need to examine individual transactions for mistakes, fraud, what have you.

We also have audits.

We also hire penetration testers to help find our security weaknesses.

This is a very high level overview. There's a lot more.

To your second question, I don't think we can do all of this from the outside. From what I've heard, Dominion makes you sign a contract that says you don't get to audit their code, just trust us. And yes, that contract is insane.

As to the penetration testing part, there are at least 12 known attack vectors that white hat hackers have published regarding their machines.

A few months later, I dug up the latest ones. The infection rate went to 4.5% from .07%.

But the number deaths had only increased by 10% over those several months. The only explanation is that testing reveals more positives, but deaths (the ultimate indicator) was steady or slowing.

More people aren't dying. We're just finding more people who are suffering little or no ill effects.

How ? Let's do some math and some history, shall we.

The Tea Party Wave installed somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 of the GOP majority that took a pretty good House majority. How did that work out ? The GOP Leadership isolated them, assimilated who they could, and shit canned the rest. The GOP Leadership is not interested in huge majorities that they can't control.

So we pushed Trump over the line. How did that work out ? The GOP House majority laid down - literally. Over forty GOP CongressDouches walked away from the best paying no show job they'd ever had in their lives. Why ? Oh - spare me the shit about committee seats and such. They walked away because the GOP said so. Paul Ryan led the failure theater.

Taking over the GOP can't happen. It really can't. You'd have to elect a majority of insurrectionists in the House - and still maintain a Party majority. That's at least 125 or so, all at once. And you have to elect a President against their will as well. Oh - and you have to blow up the Senate - because they only allow one third of their body to be elected at a time.

Nobody is taking over the GOP - because the GOP does not give a fuck about winning or losing. They'll gladly lose, if that's what it takes to keep control of their party. Keep going out there and voting for them to win. They don't care. They really don't give two shits.

I've mentioned this before, but it's often difficult to ascertain the exact reason for death, especially with elderly people.

Lady comes in to the ER, very sickly, has diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer's, a history of heart issues, and some kind of respiratory problem. And she's on dozens of medications.

Dies in the hospital.

What do you put as cause of death? Even if you do an autopsy (which would not typically be done in that kind of scenario), how do you determine what finally killed her?

Was it the cancer? The diabetes? The Alzheimer's? The cold / flu / covid? A heart attack?

Historically, doctors would usually just say she died from some kind of heart failure, since that is technically true (that is how we measure death, after all).

I suspect that, recently, all of those deaths have been put down as "covid" with the comorbidities listed.

CS degrees are pretty useless these days unless they're from MIT or Stanford. It's really a two tier system. You have MIT, Stanford grads getting $125K a year starting salaries. Then you have H1Bs making 1/2 that much. Not much in the middle. And not much for State U grads in the midwest.

They're protesting. But protesting is meaningless; if it did things, the Tea Party would have produced results, but it didn't. See also the prolife movement, which has been marching for a long time. Civil disobedience that results in arrests and prosecutions, or mob violence, might produce results. I get how they at least could (without really being a fan of either). But protests? 429 Australians Banned From Australian Island Bought by Chinese Developer

A Chinese developer bought an Australian Island and banned Australians from the area, including barring residents from their homes.

Residents say they can't go back to their homes since developer China Bloom bought a 99-year lease to take control of Keswick Island in 2019.

"I just don't think they want Australians on the island," former island resident Julie Willis told the news program "A Current Affair." "I think that they want to have this island solely for the use of the Chinese tourism market."

The Chinese developer has gone as far as banning residents from renting their homes on Airbnb, which residents say has ruined tourism, and blocking them from entering the island from air, land and sea.

It also appears that Australians are being deterred from purchasing property on the island as well.

Thank you for the info about the banking software.

The Dominion "turn-key" set-up is outrageous. Dominion could easily set up a user's systems to pass a validation test, then produce a skewed result on election day. Simply have one subroutine for testing, and one for the election. A Dominion employee tells the system which subroutine to run.

What a mess.

460 I saw this last night on Tucker's show. which I enjoy watching even though his employer etc. is a Lib.

My last employer was a flaming Lib and she knew I was a staunch conservative. We even had heated arguments about politics, but I was a hard worker and she respected that.

I use to have FNC on all the time. Now I only will support the conservative shows their because I enjoy them and don't feel like punishing
them because of their employer. I'd rather punish the other shows on FNC.

I am trying to get into watching Newsmax, but it kind of bores me. I wish they would revamp the format, but it's probably due to their budget.

Lot of interesting YouTube vids on homemade body armor. A lot that actually do the job.

Whatever you do, do NOT buy AR 500 or AR 550 steel and strap that on.

Bullets that hit flat steel will splatter and fly really quickly
parallel to the face of the plate. In practical terms, that means a
plate on your chest will send some shrapnel right into the soft spot of
your neck under your jaw.

Posted by: bonhomme at December 04, 2020 03:06 PM (UW2ZS)"

Decent deals on non-Chinesium, non steel plates would be the Hesco L210 or Highcom 4sas7, depending on whether or not you need intermediate rifle round or full power/AP protection, respectively. $360-420 or so for a set.

The UHMWPE composite level III plates (rigid Dyneema/Spectra) are nice and light, and often fairly cheap, but the level III spec is for multi-hit .308, and these will fail spectacularly against green tip 5.56 or any newer variant.

Steel at level III, aside from spalling, gets defeated by 55gr 5.56 at high muzzle velocities.

Your other options are Chinesium plates from places like Botach (spit!), or LA Police Gear. You have to shop carefully to get Chinese ceramic that doesn't have a "cheat ring" around the edge of the strike face; they cut costs and weight by skimping on the outer 0.5-1" and giving you a smaller real plate in the shape of a bigger plate.

Soft armor that will work against buckshot and most pistol rounds, and is lighter than plates while offering more coverage, can be had for $250-300 if you shop around carefully. Avoid Zylon, Dyneema, Twaron, and fancy flexible laminates; get straight Kevlar aramid.

Good luck. Are you trying to do general flaw detection ?

My favorite trick - back in the day - was to take ten samples off the line and put them in the middle of the table. Then make everybody answer - in secret - which where good and which were rejects. Because if they answer out loud, they'll all figure out how the big dick swinger in the room - the boss - is right. Fvck that.

Spoiler Alert - if you peeps can't agree - I can't program this damn COGNEX system to agree either.

I'm going to come right out and say it plain: nativist or not, generally stay the hell away from Indian or Chinese H1B's. I've watched too many of the former destroy projects and too many of the latter be spectacularly untrustworthy. And I have watched both utterly ruin what were nice neighborhoods with either third world bullshit or a total lack of respect for other people.

I have worked with absolutely amazing people from both places and would work with those people again any day, but it's a long shot. Most of the imported tech labor is awful. It's cultural, and the good ones knowingly reject it.

You're not seeing as many US applicants for a number of reasons. Fewer students in STEM because they don't want to deal with SJW BS, fewer applicants to certain regions (CA?) because they don't want to go there, and fewer applicants to you in particular because they won't want to work with the H1B's or live near them.

First, stop playing by cuck rules and be a freakin' nativist. The reason you aren't seeing a lot is because the slime like the GOP are making it difficult for natives to get the jobs. They've stagnated the wages, made pre-college schooling horrendous, and then flooded colleges with foreigners. You know what is going to happen when one of those Indians or Chinese lead your team? They will purge anyone who isn't Chinese or Indian.

475 Protectionism has to do with goods, not labor.

The reason being imported labor enjoys benefits of American society that that have a certain cost attached to it. The companies importing this labor don't pay this cost, American citizens do.

Correction on one point: the national unemployment rate is currently 6.7%. That's no where near any historical peak. The employment-to-population ratio is, at 0.573, below the long-term average (which is about 0.60), but not unprecedented either.
